New staff and it shows! This place was in a rough spot like a lot of other fast food chains recovering from Covid bc no one wants to work. They've got a decent crew there now and are quite efficient. Sure it talks a bit longer than McDs but they're making you you're own personal batch of fries and actually frying your burger. It's worth the wait! Yes the fries are greasy but that's kind of their thing! Thick greasy hand cut fries from potatoes grown in the US. Highly recommend the Cajun fries. It's the only way to go! They've got lettuce wraps and their fries are gluten free bc that's the only thing that goes in the fryer! They take proper precautions with gluten free allergies, washing hands and changing gloves etc. Celiac friendly! read more

Have been back many times since then & consistently have received decent service & good food.

First time at this location (3rd time overall) to five guys. Not as good as I remember it being. The Cajun seasoning had good flavor but the fries had no crisp to them, very mushy. Got my food went outside an ate it right away in the parking lot. My burger bun was super soggy. So not sure what was going on. Will have to give it another shot in the future. When my husband went to pick it up at 9, they shut and locked the door right in his face, said they weren't making it and wanted to close early and someone would refund us in the morning. Having dinner with grand kids the lady at the register taking orders is so friendly and patient as we were a large group. The food is good considering it's fast food. The milk shakes are ok not the best I've ever had but doable. This is my 2nd time at this one. A nice place but music is a bit loud. read more

Bad customer service, staff is not trained well. I placed an order online and I called in to ask how to pick it up (in store, if they do curbside still, etc). On the other end of the phone, over and over all i'm hearing is "what do you want??". So eventually I just go in and despite my order being placed about 20 minutes ago and the restaurant being empty it still took an additional almost 10 minutes for all my food to be done. Just kind of pushed towards me over the counter, no customer service like a have a nice day or enjoy. One guy working was nice he said it was his first day I hope he does well. But his managers abilities seem questionable. I'd recommend if you want Five Guys to go to a different location. read more

I come in for lunch all the time. The staff there are really professional and the food is always good. Just a little advice...the GM does not seem to want to help them up front. When he sees his staff is busy he should be up front helping his staff for the daily push. There will be 15 people in the line, he's wiping down windows and should be helping his staff. The windows is the last of his priority. It shows the guests he doesn't care to help, and has to get that smudge off the window. Show your staff and guests your there to help. It's frustrating when your in line and have to go back to work and the GM won't help his staff or guest get out in time. I put 4 stars because the 1 star that's missing is for the GM lack in team work. But great job to his day shift employees. read more

Always great. Yeah fries are salty but I love that. Someone said burgers are 7$+ but in fact they start at 4.79$. I've never had a bad meal here. If you comlain that it costs 10$ for a burger and fries, go to mcdonalds and get a Big Mac or quarter pounder "value meal" and it will be almost the same price. At least this is REAL food made fresh, not made years a head of time and freeze dried. ------ Now after years of going here, and twice in the last three days (thanks to my apartment building catching on fire and having to move everything in three days). They have some really good potato tasting fries, no doubt about that. They are thin style and soft/limp.The portions are about 2/3rds smaller than they used to be. The burger has two patties. Both overcooked, unless you like them brown all the way through and dry. I've been to four different 5 Guys and its always the same. Usually that's a good thing, not for me. The food is great as always. But this time it's the customer service I'm worried about. Called to place a pick up order and I was put on hold for 10 mins and no one ever came back to the line to take my order. Get to the restaurant and 5 male employees are just standing around talking. Having full conversations. They were respectful when taking my order in store but I shouldn't have had to be on hold on the phone if they weren't busy or had another guest on the line. oh, i have been meaning to post this for a couple weeks and i keep forgetting... Five Guys is Celiac-friendly!!! The only allergy anyone has to worry about (that's on my radar) is peanuts because they cook in peanut oil and have peanuts in the shells in the restaurant. They cook the breads on a separate grill than the meat. They don't add any wheat, poisons, or allergies into their meat or potatoes. Their condiments are also safe to eat. They even make a wrap out of lettuce so you can eat their burgers like a regular person! I FEASTED on burgers and fries at Five Guys a couple weeks ago and didn't have any reactions at all. Plus, the staff is really outstanding. They have a full allergy menu so you can see all the ingredients (like every food service place is supposed to have) and it's very thorough. If you have Celiac disease, Celiac syndrome, wheat or flour sensitivities, milk allergies, you can trust that Five Guys has you covered so you can eat safely :) read more

I feel badly reviewing this particular location, but this was the only one I've been to...twice. The service is fine, they get the order right, but I find no reason to ever eat here. It's very expensive for food that doesn't taste very good. I don't understand the hype about the fries and for a messy burger I'd expect it to taste better. Five Guy's is usually known for their consistency, in this case I was extremely disappointed. I ordered a burger and fries. I get a burger and a half empty cup of soggy fries, no fries in the bag. I'm paying $3.79 for fries I want a decent amount. I ask for more fries. They say they will make a new batch. I get a bag with slightly more fries but they are just as soggy salty and old as ever! So disappointed with the service here. Our last visit was fine but tonight was terrible. The girl working is miserable, no smile or greeting. We ordered & I unfortunately by habit dropped my change($1.60) in their cup-she watched & no gratitude at all. Nobody was friendly at all. As we left, my son felt ill. My fiance and I stopped by one day with honestly low expectations. She had never been to a five guys before and it has been years since my last visit to one. The service the 2 fellas up front offered was excellent, they answered all of our questions and made us feel very welcomed. As far as the food goes, I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and I gotta say it tasted delicious. And the fries were perfectly seasoned and abundant. They basically handed us a bag full of fries even though we had only ordered a regular size to split between the two of us. I was surprised to see so many negative reviews because this place is clean and food was great for the price. I will be definitely be back again in the future. read more

All the burgers are cooked well done which just ruins it for me though my BFF raves about them. The fries are somewhere between McDonalds grade and what you would expect to get in a regular restaurant. The Norwich 5 guys is a mess. The food was not to standard, the place is dirty. I was there on Friday evening and it was empty. I know why. The floors are greasy. There was a huge puddle of water infront if the soda fountains that you had to walk through. No one was even attempting to clean it up. I love "5 Guys" but this location is not to standard. The guy who took our order was chatting with a buddy who had come in to visit and didn't even look at us, just held out his hand for the credit card. The floors were dirty, we cleaned our own table, my order was wrong and had to be redone and it was terribly slow. When we were leaving, and other customer finally came in-there was only one other family besides us until the new- there were NO guys in the restaurant. One in bathroom,two outside smoking and I don't know where the other two were, but there was no one working. The restaurant next door was busy but now I understand why "5 Guys" was so empty....it's a mess! read more
