Tasty take out. I really enjoyed the crust. Got a mushrooms and peppers pizza, was delicious. Will be back soon. Staff on phone was really nice and patient when ordering.

Fantastic place for a quick bite! Stopped here grab some dinner while doing some laundry at the laundromat that is directly next door. There was only one waitress and she was very friendly. We were the only ones in the restaurant & our service was quick, but I can't speak to wait times during a rush. But I will say that the food was great! The portion sizes are large so we were able to take our leftovers for lunch the following day & they still were delicious.

This was my first time here. I have been driving by for quite some time. I decided to make this night, the night. My friend ordered a caprese sandwich. She wasn't impressed. I ordered the black point special pie. It piqued my curiosity. At first glance it looked amazing. It smelled amazing. When I finally took a bite of it, there was an explosion of flavor. I loved the garlic, I loved the calamari. The cherry peppers had a very faint flavoring on this pizza. The one spice that unpleasantly stood out was salt. The pizza was way too salty. I had asked the waitress if there's salt added to the food and she really couldn't be bothered. It's a shame; the location is cute, the wine selection was descent for a neighborhood spot. I feel that less salting of food would have made me bring my leftovers home and really want to revisit.

Black Point Pizza Eggplant Parmesan over penne pasta

Grazie Mino I was heading into town from Black Point for a quiet dinner alone. I hadn't been to Niantic in some time and while I was driving, I noticed Black Point Pizza next to the laundromat. I was tired and didn't feel like driving far. I was thinking, "Another pizza joint in Niantic." Oh well....I'll have a couple slices and head back for an early night. I'm so happy I stopped. This restaurant is so much more than just a pizza place. It's a great little restaurant that happens to have pizza on the menu. I sat at the bar and was greeted by Christine. She poured me a glass of montepulciano wine and a warm Italian dinner roll. I had the Chicken Marsala over penne pasta for dinner. Thin chicken cutlets sautéed with beautiful fresh mushrooms and just the right amount of marsala wine. Chef/owner Mino perfectly cooked my dinner. I completed the night with a delicious piece of tiramisu and a nice conversation with Christine. My wife and I tend to sit at the bar wherever we go because you always get the best service and conversations. My dinner experience was so good that I went back the following night. Once again, great wine, food, and conversations. This time I wanted something with sauce. Christine made a few suggestions, but highly recommended the eggplant Parmesan over penne pasta. Eggplant parm is one of my favorite dishes and Mino far exceeded my expectations. The eggplant was so tender and the sauce was incredible. Mino sat for a few minutes and we also had a nice conversation. I highly recommend going to Black Point Pizza. It's now my Go-To restaurant in Niantic. Italian food done right.

Great little restaurant! Classy, clean, and well done! We had the buffalo wings & a large pizza with sausage. Both were very good! Our waitress was very friendly & properly attentive. Great experience! We'll be back!

This place was happening and very lively and loud. My Arnold Palmer tasted delicious and my husband enjoyed his Bourbon on the Bay. I also ordered a to go order for my teen of Salmon, roast potatoes and veggies and let me tell you that was delicious!!! I guess they don't do a lot of take out at this establishment though because our waitress could not give me any forks for our to go order but managed a spoon. Nice and clean ambiance inside. I liked that our waitress offered if we would like to have dessert. Very cheery place.

They go down way too easily. Do yourself a favor and order the pistachio martini -- dangerously smooth and totally worth it. The restaurant itself is super easy to get to -- it's right in a shopping strip near I‑95, and there's plenty of parking, which is always a relief. Inside, the vibe is simple elegance. You've got options: table seating, counter seating, and a full bar if you're in a cocktail mood. We couldn't decide on just one thing, so we went all‑in on appetizers: * Tuna Tartar - super fresh and flavorful * Calamari Ecuadorian Style - tender with a sauce that was different in the best way * Trio Empanadas - the Colombian beef and Ecuadorian chicken were my favorites; the plantain & cheese one wasn't really my thing * Chickpea Salad - the dressing deserves its own award And shoutout to Fausto, our server. He was knowledgeable, charming, and on top of everything without hovering. Just really solid service all around. Already thinking about what I'm trying next time.

They auto charged a 20% gratuity, which was a bit steep but understandable due to the holiday. Charred pulpo was tender and delicious. The scallops were tender but I wished the bacon was crispy. The lobster ravioli sauce was salty. It was salty in the bacon wrapped scallops as well. It would've been more enjoyable if the sauce was good, especially with the bread given. The sauce in the Valentine's Day special with the steak and shrimp was delicious. A bit on the oily side but cooked to perfection. The seafood was so good! A lot of muscles, clams, shrimp, and crab. I ordered mine with pasta. The drinks were delicious! I highly recommend their pisco sours.

They must have relocated to a new property because this restaurant looks brand new. We were seated outside, depending on which way you're turned you may have the view of the Niantic Bay. Here there's no table service, you order at the counter, then they call your order number, then you can pick up your tray. I got the Chowder and the fish tacos. The others got the Fish and Chips. This Chowder was very good, super fresh, flavorful and not too salty. The fish tacos were very generously filled, but they were very bland in flavor. Squeezing some fresh lime juice helped bring out a bit of the flavor. The Fish & Chips came out in huge portions. There was a sign that they had free ice cream. I was pretty impressed by the flavor options. We got strawberry cheesecake, some type of Oreo with peanut butter and chocolate. This ice cream was super flavorful, rich and creamy. Maybe they're giving it away to make room for some new fall flavors. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. I would recommend dining at Dad's.

So here I am three years later at the newly reopened Dad's in Niantic. Newly remodeled, this restaurant has a fresh look with a beautiful outdoor dining area overlooking the Niantic Bay Unfortunately, that's where all the good stops I came here specifically for the whole bellies. Whole belly clams that is. What I received were almost like clam strips with a little bit of belly attached, almost like they were super small or babies. These were not cheap. An order plus a soda was over $23 with the tip. I bet there was 4 ounces of clams in this order Huge disappointment in the seafood. Dad's, you need to step it up. Too much competition in the Niantic area for you to fall short in a beautiful environment and with a beautiful restaurant. I will return in the fall before you close for the season to double check and see if you were improved Until then, I don't see any reason to stop here for a bite to eat

As far as I know, it is not certified organic, but the prices are higher than organic at stores like Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. A very small cabbage was over $4. A bunch of radishes was $5.50. A 10-oz tomato was $3.99. The prepared foods are equally pricy, and vary widely in quality. A small tub of their "schmear", a mix of dairy and scallions that I add to potato salad dressing (it works well) is $8.50. A very small (for 2) peach galette was $8.95, but delicious and perfectly baked. A berry scone ($4.50) was a heavy lump of underbaked dough, a huge difference from the light, flaky, golden scones I get from Dagmar's in Old Saybrook. A ginger-pecan scone was better. A raspberry thumbprint "cookie" fell into pieces when I placed it in my pastry box ($4.95) -- it tasted good, but the texture was more like a lump of cold oatmeal. A single slice of house pizza ($7) made me sad -- the concept was good, but the broccoli was burnt and chewy. Most of their baked goods are too heavy and underbaked. The staff is friendly, warm, and welcoming, as well they ought to be. The parking is hideous -- cramped and inadequate, with no handicapped that I could see. The actual farmstand building is small, hot, and crowded at peak times. To sum up: I think most people assume the produce is organic, but there are no signs to that effect. The refrigerated prepared foods are generally tasty. The baked goods are a crapshoot, and at the prices, it's not worth the risk of their not being worth the money.
