The reason we gave this place 4 stars was because the service was one of the worst I've ever experienced at any restaurant. Came here on a Monday evening to enjoy a meal. There are two tables outside that we were able to eat at with our dog. They would not let us bring a chair from inside to sit which was slightly annoying but we made it work. Menu had lots of different pizzas and the opportunity to make your own. We enjoyed our food and had leftovers to take home. Ordered an app of meatballs and ricotta and it was just what we wanted! There was a little mixup with our pizza but the workers were very kind and handled it well. Would definitely come back if craving pizza! read more

Hands down the best pizza we've had, better than in Italy, better than the 3 big New Haven spots. Every element on its own is high quality and flavorful, put it together and it's perfect. The crust is salty and has the perfect char, meats seasoned, high quality cheese and sauce with the perfect level of garlic. The Circa 1985 is *chefs kiss*. We've enjoyed the seasonal arancini's a few times as well. Do yourself a favor and visit, sit at the bar, and watch the magic unfold. The service is fast, friendly and reliable. We love eating at this pizza place in Niantic! It's a cute little restaurant and it's enjoyable to sit down and grab some delicious pizza! Wow! Wow! Wow! Great service. Great pizza. En route to catch the Cross Sound Ferry out of New London, we were craving pizza to enjoy on the crossing. As the passenger on the drive down, I opened Yelp!, searched for pizza near New London, and sorted by user ratings. The enticing pictures and positive reviews of Vincitori Apizza--first in the search results--quickly won me over. I 'added a stop' to our Google Maps route. Boy, did we pick the right place! My S.O. ordered a white pizza with extra prosciutto and arugula, and I ordered my usual pepperoni and roasted red peppers.  Our pizzas were fantastic! From the perfectly baked crust to the flavorful toppings, every bite was a taste of pizza heaven. These were undeniably some of the best, if not THE best, pizzas we've ever had. And even though the restaurant was totally slammed--it being Friday night--the staff was super friendly and helpful. We make the crossing to Long Island several times a year, and Vincitori Apizza will be built into our travel plans from now on. We even talked about making the trek here even if we're not making the crossing, even though it's nearly a two-hour drive from where we live.  Highly, highly recommended! read more

Finally found our go to pizzeria in our new town. Always order a margherita for the first time and it was fantastic. Perfectly charred and wider outside rim reminds us of our trip to Milan. I was staying at the red roof Inn with my dog so I didn't want to go out. I searched for just a plain cheese pizza and decided on this restaurant for delivery to the hotel. The app was not easy to use and could not find the hotel so I called them to order the pizza direct and they refused to take my order and said I had to go through the eatzy app because they otherwise could not take my order. I tried again a couple of times and finally got the app to locate the address I placed an order for a plain cheese pizza, and a Diet Coke. I checked the distance when I decided to order from this restaurant so that I was not going someplace far from the hotel. The food arrived when they said it was going to. The crust of the pizza was burnt black, otherwise it was a plain cheese pizza and a can of Diet Coke that cost me over $44. Other than the burnt crust, it was fine. It's a cheese pizza. Could I have gone to Domino's for a lot less money and a similar quality pizza maybe not burnt, yeah. read more

I had no idea that Niantic had a spot for New Haven style apizza, but I visited the town for the first time this past weekend and was instantly drawn to this restaurant! Their seasonal Arancini special was delicious, and we were definitely happy with our pizza! It has just the right amount of char, plenty of cheese and sauce, and crispy pepperoni. I liked the flavor of the garlic oil that they put on there too. The crust itself was thin, but could've been a little crispier for the true New Haven style. Our waitress was friendly and the food came out quickly. Definitely happy with our meal here and would recommend them to anyone visiting town! My name is Patrick Walsh. I've been in the food service for the better part of 50 years of my life, including a pizzeria restaurant. My grandson and I went this evening, September 2 to what would be an enjoyable meal focaccia bread my grandson had I had meatballs which was served at about 90°. I think by law 145 is the suggested temperature for hot food And with cold ricotta, I asked the young lady that was the manager to put it in a tin pan and heat it up for me she rejected my request and stated that "this is not the way that we do it here." Unfortunately the customer is always right, at least that's what I've been taught and my gripe was legit. I asked them to reheat it. They said that they would get me New I declined. I watched as an employee pocketed a tip, so I gave my waitress $5 personally for a $14 dollar meal so she would get it. We went here to dine in for pizza. The place is small so it is open to the kitchen. The pizza was a bit burnt and the place smelled that way too. The pizza was just okay if you like it on the burnt side. We prefer not burnt so it wasn't our first choice in the area. They do take out and that was busy. Dining in we were the only ones the entire meal and it was 5:30 pm the tables are close together and not fancy. The pizza had flavors but nothing to write home about. Wow. 6 months ago I would have rated this 5, but not today. This has been our go-to pizza place for years, ordering every week. I sang their praises whenever I could. I was a die hard fan. Then idk what happened. The last few weekends that we've ordered it's been getting progressively worse. Are they taking me for granted, seeing my name week after week on their order forms? "They buy every week, no need to impress them anymore..." Idk, but it does make me wonder. We order the same pie every week. The sausage and peppers special. And it used to be special! Lots of peppers, onions, and sausage. Now, not so much. I've been ordering it with extra cheese these last few months, which I thought I was getting, but not last night. There was hardly cheese, let alone extra. Such a disappointment, especially for an extra $3. You know what else I think is kinda disgusting: when their app automatically puts in a 20% tip. That's so unclassy.
