One of the best steakhouses in Boston. Everything is delicious from starters to desserts but of course, especially the steak. Have taken my parents for both their birthdays. Servers are knowledgeable and kind. Calm and sophisticated atmosphere.
Food and service good there wasn't much of a dress code or anything enforced here but we liked everything we had. The bone marrow was a unique take and delish. All the sides and the food yummy. Shrimp cocktail that bf has was good and nice presentation steak and butter with sauces cooked perfect and yummy!! He added a lobster and it was good he said but little flavor. I did love attention to detail from staff. Fixing napkins when we got up etc. nice touches. Corn was yum!!!
What an experience! From the attentive service to the quality food, our whole visit was absolutely divine. The tomahawk steak was cooked to perfection and the sides paired so nicely with it! Highly recommend visiting any of their locations!
This place was great! From the second we sat down happy anniversary was printed on the menu which was so nice. Restaurant was very romantic on the inside - dark lighting with candles and such. Service was great, especially for how packed the place was (but the tables were far enough away from each other that it didn't feel cramped). Steaks were phenomenal, the whipped potatoes were also excellent. The chocolate cake was huge and once again they wished us a happy anniversary. The complimentary bread was also delicious, some of the softest rolls we've had. Overall would definitely return if back in Boston, 10/10 experience.
I've always loved Mooo... dating back to when the original Beacon Hill location first opened. If you're staying at XV Beacon, Mooo there is certainly great to have right there. Given the choice, however, I now prefer the modern, polished, almost clubby feel of this location in the Seaport. The restaurant isn't particularly large, but it's a beautifully designed space. For larger groups, they have a few round tables that work especially well, including one that perfectly accommodated our party of seven. You can always count on a great dining experience at any of Chef Jamie Mammano's restaurants. His commitment to the highest quality chow, attentive service, fine wines, and an elegant atmosphere has made him one of Boston's most respected restaurateurs. Our meal here was spectacular. The cocktails were perfectly crafted, and it's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. Standout starters included the Wagyu Beef Dumplings, Tuna Tartare, and the Dry-Aged Bolognese Lumache. For entrées, we shared several different cuts of steak, all expertly prepared and presented sliced for the table. The Beef Wellington is also fantastic here. The sides are uniformly excellent, but don't miss the Char-Roasted Heirloom Carrots with Honey and the Yukon Gold Potatoes. Desserts are equally impressive. Highly recommend both the Milk & Cookies and the Bananas Foster. I'd like to especially thank our waitress, who provided exceptional service and helped make the evening truly special. We were celebrating my son's graduation, and her warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail enhanced what was already a memorable occasion. I also appreciated the excellent service from their new sommelier. Mooo continues to set the standard for the modern Boston steakhouse experience. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Love this restaurant so much. It is such a classy elegant experience from the lightening to all the small touches that elevates the space. It's definitely pricey because it's an upscale restaurant but it's worth every dollar. The steak frites are perfectly seasoned and delicious. The desserts are decadent and delicious. I want to come back to try the bananas foster it looks insane. I definitely recommend this place.
This is place is firing on all cylinders and is apparent the second you walk in. I was greeted right away and luckily they had a spot open at the bar. The bar staff was super attentive and friendly. For my cocktail, I ordered a devils advocate and it was very good. Everything here is pricey, but you get what you pay for here. The lobster bisque was the best I have ever had. The puff pastry top sets it above others I have had. I would go back just for the bisque. For my main, I ordered the beef Wellington and a side of carrots. The Wellington was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The mushrooms along with the steak was a match made in heaven. The carrots were simple, but extraordinary good. Problem was I didn't have much room for them. I would say that my meal was a top 5 for the year...easily. I was really impressed with the staff that were not only handling the busiest time of dinner, but one of Bostons finest decided that 7 PM was a great time for a health inspection. Her presence did slow things down, but totally expected and the staff handled graciously. Boston health department.....use some common sense.
We had been to the original Mooo location in Beacon Hill and had loved the food and upscale vibe. While that was closer to our hotel on this visit, it was near impossible to get a reservation there, so we wound up at the newer Seaport location. The space was just as elegant, but much more industrial. The hostess greeted us and immediately had us seated at a comfortable booth. Our server was very nice and energetic. She asked if we wanted bread service, to which we eagerly agreed. We knew that their buttery, doughy, salted Parker House rolls were phenomenal! We enjoyed our bread with some drinks. I started with a cocktail called Devil's Advocate, which included Ghost Tequila, cucumber, pineapple, and some other ingredients that I am forgetting now. The drink wound up being more strong than it was fruity. I was not a huge fan, so I switched to a glass of the 2023 Atzei 'Saragat' Vermentino from Isola dei Nuraghi, Sardinia, Italy, which I adored! The white wine was complex in flavor, but had a smooth finish with low acidity. It also had a slight effervescence, which was enjoyable. Despite our several rounds of bread service, I was somehow able to finish my entree of the Faroe Island Salmon. The fish was cooked through, as I had asked, but it could have used some salt or seasoning. However, it was served over a delicious blend of summer corn (kernels and puree), heirloom tomatoes, Chantarelle mushrooms, and fresh basil. I heard rave reviews on the steaks from others at the table. Mooo proved to be one of the best and most consistent steakhouse experiences in Boston, if not in general.
Moo Seaport was a great experience overall. The calamari was really good, the rib eye was cooked perfectly, and the swordfish was amazing. The waygu dumplings were outstanding and honestly I could have eaten them as a whole meal. The lobster mac and cheese was a huge disappointment though. It was dry, poorly seasoned, and had no flavor. For an establishment of this caliber that dish should have been incredible, but instead it was a waste of money. I was really excited to try it for my birthday, but it fell completely flat. On the upside, our server Vanessa was amazing. The service was excellent, the decor is beautiful, and the bathrooms were super clean. Price points were what you would expect for this kind of restaurant, so no complaints there. The only two downfalls for me were the mac and cheese and the banana foster. I would never order either of them again, even if they were free. As someone who dines around the city often, I know what to expect from restaurants at this level, and Moo mostly delivered. I will definitely go back, but I will absolutely stay away from the mac and cheese and the banana foster. Everything else was amazing.
Food was really good. Attention to detail re: my celiac/gluten free precautions were great. Steak frites was cooked to the correct temp and the potatoes were rich and hit the spot. Wedge was different, but tasty. The shirley temple was not that good. The dessert! Probably my highlight. Banana desserts are rare, so the banana foster was a treat. Especially because the cake was gluten free. They also had a proper gluten free bread service. Praise be! Lol. The ambiance was okay. Felt very Chicago/dark/moody. More industrial than chic, if that makes sense. Where improvement could be used is in the time from initial seating to the waiter coming to the table. It was at least 15 minutes and I thought that was crazy. Even still, I'd return if back in town.
Moo is hands down our favorite restaurant in the Seaport. The vibe is lively but relaxed. Top notch service starts at check-in. The food somehow always tastes better than the last. We brought my hubby's parents here while they were in town. My MiL started out with the lobster bisque and what a presentation! She said it was delicious. My FIL ordered a filet and his own side of Yukon gold mashed potatoes. We ordered a flight of sides for the table! I ordered the salmon plate and my hubby ordered the lobster. My MIL got a filet as well. For drinks, I went with my usual - devil's advocate. And you know we enjoyed the fresh Parker house rolls with butter. We were too full to enjoy dessert but we took home their lovely chocolates. Everything was perfect per usual. In fact, my FIL said "this is the best meal I've ever had!" Thank you, Moo Seaport for another memorable dinner!
Medium Ribeye is my order. Any steak you get at this restaurant will be great! The staff are very accommodating and welcoming. Recommend the Milk and Cookies for dessert. The restaurant made our engagement night so special, I called ahead to let them know I'd be asking the big question and when we arrived after our proposal at Seaport Harbor, the restaurant had printed our names with a special celebration note on top. It was so sweet, the menu is now a souvenir of our engagement night.
First time coming to Mooo in Seaport and was very surprised at how full it was for a Monday night. The main dining area is slightly dark, but had a romantic vibe for a date night. The menu has an wide variety of options for appetizers and entrees for the steak as well as non-steak lover. All of the food items we ordered were delicious. Steaks were perfectly cooked all around. The American Wagyu Cap steak was extraordinary and melted in our mouths. The filet was also really good and flavorful. Sides of broccolini and lobster Mac and cheese were good, but thought the broccolini could be more flavorful. Drinks were great and reasonably priced. The service overall was good, a little slow but it was a very busy Monday which i wasn't sure if they expected the crowds. Our server however was very friendly and we didn't have any issues at all during our service. Looking forward to returning!
AMAZING steakhouse (best in Boston)!!! I live close to Mooo, so I go quite often; and never have I been disappointed! I've tried several cuts of the steak, but the filet mignon is my favorite. It is juicy, always cooked to perfection, is so tender you can cut it with a butter knife, and is served with flavorful bone marrow butter (as are all the steaks). The next best thing about this restaurant, is the BREAD. The rolls that are served before the food are THE best rolls I've ever had. The outside is salty and crispy, the inside is buttery and gooey. 10/10 on the bread, you'll want to order another loaf. My favorite side dish are the mashed potatoes- their texture is silky and smooth, and they have the right amount of salt & butter. I have also tried (and loved) the prime steak tartare, the ribeye and sirloin meatballs, the mushrooms, the Japanese wagyu beef dumplings, and the wedge salad. The steak tartare may be the best I've had- I just always wish the egg had a yolk (not sure if it's always over cooked, or if the chef does not want it to run). Desserts at Mooo are decadent, but my favorite is the espresso martini as an after dinner drink. The wine list is extraordinary, they carry MANY more bottles than I would've ever expected. The service is impeccable; they are always very friendly and go out of the way to make sure you have a nice dinner. The wait staff and manager made me feel very welcome to the neighborhood when I moved in; an unforgettable experience. The prices are a little steep, but in my opinion, the food, service, and ambiance are worth it. This location does have limited hours compared to the main Mooo; but they will start opening Sundays August 7th!! The bar does get very packed and can be difficult to find a seat; so make sure you have a reservation in the dining room, or go to the bar early if you plan to eat. Love Mooo and will return, very soon!! read more
Came here for a business dinner. Table of 10. Our server was great. She was very attentive and helpful throughout the meal. The food was delicious. We had many dishes as appetizers and sides. As my main, I had the dry age rib eye. For a $100 ribeye, I was hoping for more flavor and more marbled texture. It's still very good but not $100 for 18 oz bone-in. read more

On point in several different ways. Would definitely come back and this was my favorite steakhouse thus far in Boston after experiencing a few of the top rated ones. Ambiance: modern and updated for a steakhouse which is nice in contrast to a lot of the more traditional steakhouses Service: very attentive and on point! Good: highly recommend the sides flight to sample a bunch of different sides. We all loved the mushrooms side, truffle fries, and carrots. The meat cuts my friends got all were delicious and they said the meat was cooked to perfection. I got the halibut which was fresh, light, and delicious. Price point is a bit steep but the food and service was all 5/5 so I would just go in anticipating that or for a special occasion. Believe it or not the cookies with milk dessert was the best! Soft, delectable, warm cookies! Definitely recommend Mooo if you haven't been, and I've heard this location is way better than the original. Check out the pictures. read more

Made reservations for my sons birthday, and just mentioned it was his birthday. Pulled up to valet, no waiting. Walked in with family to elegant restaurant. Sat us within 3 minutes. We look at the menu and see printed on the Menu, Happy Birthday! What a lovely touch!! Food was amazing, expensive yes, but very good for special night out. I dropped a knife and someone was over with a new one within seconds! The staff here are amazing and so attentive. The staff all work together to make your night amazing. My daughter and I shared the chocolate cake, amazing!! The boys loved their desserts too, apple crisp thing and crème brûlée. The wine, steak. Sides, dessert were all top notch. We had an amazing night out celebrating my sons birthday! read more

The rolls and butter were excellent both warm, soft and savory with a sprinkle of salt. Definitely worth the hype! They served us sparkling water that was good as well. The Parmesan truffled French fries were a flavorful appetizer that was perfectly cooked and well portioned. We also had a Rhode Island style crispy calamari appetizer that came with lemon aioli that made for the perfect squeeze with their arrabbiata sauce (red pasta sauce). That is one item that could have been better. We ordered an 18 oz bone in steak that wasn't on the menu and it was big enough for me and my hot date to share evenly. Their lobster Mac and regular Mac and cheese were both well seasoned and really cheesy. Their sautéed arrowhead spinach may have been my personal favorite of the dish. One bowl and I felt like Popeye the sailor man. We finally topped off the evening with their dessert, "Milk and Cookies." The milk was similar to a milkshake and the cookies were fresh, warm, soft and baked to perfection. They also gave us marmellos which was chocolate covered marshmallows when given the bill. The waiter and servers were all friendly and very attentive. They all smiled and asked how we were doing from the front door to the table. The manager checked in as soon as we got our plates and personally asked how the meat tastes and if everything was okay. Another figure asked the same question as we left. The room was dim and set a very romantic vibe and ambiance. The tables were candle lit, (with real fire,) and everything was served in either cast iron or really nice dishes. The dinner and two rounds of drinks totaled about $330. One thing that can be said is that we definitely didn't go home hungry and ultimately the food was pretty good. I'm pretty sure we would go back as well as recommend others to go and try for yourself. read more

Went for my birthday, first time ever at Moo and was pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. The yukon mashed potatoes were creamy, and I immensely enjoyed my waygu. Will dine here again! :) read more
This steakhouse is quiet classy! It's definitely over price because of its seaport location. The food was good but steak can be better. We ordered 90 day dry aged bone-in ribeye but it lacked that dry aged taste. It was cooked to perfection however, nice crust outside and pink inside. My only complaint was the whipped butter potatoes, it tasted almost like potato from a pouch at the market. The bone marrow appetizer was to die for, MUST order! Service was excellent. It'a a good place to bring a date since it's dimmed. Went on a Thursday and it was a packed house. One app, two entrées, two sides and 4 drinks will set you back $354 including taxes & gratuity. read more

Probably the most expensive of the steakhouses around Boston but the truffle sauce and filet mignon are worth it! The onion rings were awesome but don't fill up on those Seaport location had a nice bar area we sat at but kind of off the beaten path. Easy walk from South Station. read more
Big love for their beef Wellington! The tenderloin, mushroom and foie gras are perfectly puzzled together. Presentation is like an art piece. Ceviche and grilled oyster are also very tasty. Portions are big, I was so full after the meal. The only flaw in my dining experience is the bone marrow: not my type, too rich and greasy. This location is new and service is great. While other restaurants may be short staffed during this pandemic time period, this place has a lot of waitresses/waiters. read more

The service here is AMAZING!!! Dani was our server and she was awesome! Very professional and great with my husbands food allergy. From the host, to the food runner, to the managers in the suits, we felt so well taken care of! This was the best customer service I've ever had in Boston. The food was also amazing. My dish was delicious! read more

After a lot of walking in the cold, the couple arrived to get #fed. They were craving some good ole meat, and boy were they pleased. The menu was quite hefty so a lot of decisions were to be made. The couple opted out of getting drinks but went straight for a calamari appetizer. They were generously given some pretzel bread and butter which was delectable. The mains took quite long to get there but were outstanding. The man got a tender medium rare filet, while the woman got a tasty beef wellington (medium rare as well). These dishes were amazing, truly melted in your mouth. The ambitious couple also got some broccolini on the side, but barely made any dents in it due to stuffed bellies. That being said, that didn't stop them from getting a crème brûlée to finish the stomachs off. After the dessert, they were also greeted with some chocolate marshmallow treats to fully seal the deal. The vibes were sophisticated and elegant, everyone dressed to a T (maybe the man and woman should've dressed nice tehe) and the dim lighting set a great vibe. Overall would definitely come again, great for special occasions/splurging a big buck! read more

I wasn't expecting much from a steakhouse in Boston, but this restaurant great. Excellent food and service. We had a large group and the food was very good. The A5 Wagyu is very tasty. The sides were also excellent. My favorite was the "Tator Tots" which are a creamy mashed potatoes deep fried. The desserts tried are the cookies and Bananas Foster, both can be shared with 3-4 people each. read more
I came here for my birthday over the weekend and the food was fantastic! The bone marrow was delicious . The grilled octopus was also another favorite. We ordered tomahawk steak and some different sirloins along with some sides of parmesan fries, mushroom, brussel sprout, and lobster mac n cheese. That mac and cheese was my favorite side dish. Food was good, drinks were perfect as well. Now, it wasn't 100% packed on a Sunday night but it wasn't empty either. Maybe about 75% full at the restaurant. Now lets talk about service. Our waiter was nice at first then as the night went by he progressively got bitter and gave attitude while speaking to us. He seemed annoyed when I asked to pack my own food and for the check, he also acted annoyed when I told him that I asked someone for the dessert menu already but they never brought it to us. We had to wait 45 minutes for our entree and by that time we were already getting full from waiting. We also had to wait a very long time every time we ordered a new drink. We were there for a total of 3 HOURS all because service was slow and he was not productive. I don't know what happened with this waiter throughout the night, but my friends and I for sure were not happy towards the end of the night due to the poor treatment we got from the waiter. I would recommend trying a different Mooo location. read more

Mooo is one of those restaurants that never disappoints. Their food is reliably excellent, simple yet well-executed French cuisine at its finest. Sauntered into the seaport location for the first time, and while it is not as romantic as the beacon hill location, it is the perfect spot to grab dinner with friends. The service was excellent. Definitely recommend the beef Wellington which was one of the best I've ever had. read more
