Steak frites
Rita C.

I live across the street in Fort Point. I'm surrounded by lots of steak places. Hawksmoor is the best. Love the ambience. I had steak frites & upgraded to Waygu which I thought was really reasonable. It was fabulous! The server suggested I order it rare instead of my usual medium rare & she was absolutely correct. I also ordered steak tartare which was easily the best I've had in ages. Nice decor. Like the view of Fort Point channel. My new go-to.

Absolutely delicious. 1855 Chateaubriand.

Great food. Good service. I'd been to the Hawksmoor in Dublin and it's great to have one in Boston now too.

A very popular, long-established Greek restaurant in Boston. Last time I walked in and was told…read morethere would be a two-hour wait, but this time I made a reservation and finally got to enjoy a delicious meal! Tiropita Rolls: Very straightforwardly delicious. The bread was warm, soft, and airy, with a rich aroma of butter and cheese; the spread was a rich blend of honey butter, and olives, sweet and delicious, perfect as an appetizer. Tzatziki: A slight disappointment. The cucumber and Greek yogurt spread was surprisingly heavy, a bit cloying, and the pickled kumquats weren't as sweet as I expected, but rather had a slightly bitter taste. The pita bread was thick and soft, probably better suited for dipping in soup--like Bourdeto--than for the spread. Bourdeto: The tomato fish soup was a pleasant surprise. The freshly caught grouper of the day was thick and tender, lightly seared to create a crispy crust. The broth was a vibrant, tangy tomato base, with onions, fennels, and red peppers contributing a sweet, layered flavor. Trahanas, fermented wheat and dairy, added richness and a smooth texture to the soup. The broth also had a slight spiciness, making it incredibly comforting on a chilly autumn day. Portokalopita: The dessert that elevated the entire meal. A traditional Greek orange phyllo, the cake, made from crumbs of phyllo pastry, becomes incredibly soft and moist after being soaked in orange syrup. Every bite was bursting with rich orange sweetness and fragrance, followed by a slightly bitter orange zest--perfectly balanced. Paired with Manouri cheese ice cream, the creamy flavor was incredibly rich and creamy, creating a harmonious and layered flavor profile.

We chose to sit outside; it was a chilly fall evening when we went last year, but we got some lap blankets which was a nice touch, so brownie points for service. My friend and I split the pastitsio (meat pasta dish), kotopoulo (a chicken dish), louza charcuterie, and tiropita (halloumi rolls). The rolls were stuffed with halloumi and were dense in the best way possible. Coupled with the louza charcuterie, the appetizers were a hit. The two entrees were small but mighty - they were packed with rich meats but also featured microgreens, herbs, and other tangy, bold flavors that really balanced the dishes. We got some glasses of Greek orange wine that I can't remember the name of but it paired excellently with the food per our waitress's recommendation. Overall, a solid Greek option if you're in Back Bay! But definitely make a reservation if you can.

We decided to skip appetizers and go right to having our entrees with sides. The mashed potatoes were insanely buttery, the onion rings were perfectly crisp, and the corn was good (but also just corn). I had the beef Wellington which was phenomenal. You didn't even need a knife to cut the filet it was that tender. My dad said the ribeye he had was the best he has had in his entire life. We went with the banana foster which was the perfect way to end the evening and they bring out a little sweet chocolate treat. The tables are a little too close to my liking as the business dinner next to us was incredibly loud and over the top. I'd save a date night here for a Friday or Saturday where maybe the focus is on that. Our server Paige was knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. She put up with my dad's jokes really well and I appreciate that! We will definitely be back, but might stick to a different day/time. Also, the rolls are INCREDIBLE and I asked for leftovers and they packed me up a little box to go - THAT is great service and how you should do it!

Great meal to end the upper US marathon vacation!!…read more We had no idea where we may end up eating but the trusty Yelp app led us to another victory dance!! Yay for Yelp!! We had just cruised the nearby mall center thingy and were hungry on our last night in Boston. We saw the sites and did the things. Boston is a one of a kind place for sure. This was the choice. It was a great choice! Beautifully decorated and oh so chill inside. We have a thing that we do at places with great appetizers. We just order a bunch of those and feast. That's what we did here! We started with some raw oysters. They were very nice indeed. Island Creek Oysters from Duxbury MA. is where they came from. We love the little local Junts a lot and had them all over the northeast while we were there. We also had Crab Rangoon Dip. Very good, lots of fresh lump crabmeat, with a house chili crisp, scallions, and wonton chips. Loved it! They we had some fantastic mussels to close the deal! The flavor was amazing! I wish I could have them every single day! We also had a bowl of BPH Clam Chowder. CC is one of my favorite things and this place did not disappoint in any way! Delicious!! The server was great. She took great care and made our last night in Boston an unforgettable experience. If you are near, you should go right now! Why aren't you there yet? '26 - 108

Spacious, sophisticated, and an upscale atmosphere. A special thank you goes to our server, Bruno, who was absolutely amazing. He made us feel so welcome right from the start and attended to our table frequently throughout the evening to make sure we were having a great time. He was also very funny and conversational which added to the positive experience. Please send our best regards to Bruno for his exceptional hospitality! The food was sooo good. We started with a variety of appetizers, including the calamari and oysters, which were delicious. For my main course, I had the steak au poivre medium-rare, and it was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. For sides, we shared the asparagus, truffle fries, and the lobster mac and cheese which was the best mac and cheese any of us have ever had! And I don't even like lobster! Overall, we had a great evening and cannot wait to return. Thank you!

My Boston Restaurant Week tradition continues on this Friday evening. Friends and I returned with a…read more7:30PM reservation for a party of 4. The wait after check-in for a table only took 5 minutes. I ordered from the restaurant week's prix fixe menu ($55), opting for the clam chowder, bone-in Kona crusted dry aged NY strip (+$12), and flourless chocolate cake. The cup clam chowder seemed decent enough. The NY strip arrived textbook medium rare per my request - warm red center without grey bands. The accompanying shallot butter did not overpower the steak. The creamed spinach and mashed potatoes, as expected of a classic American steakhouse, deliciously tasted like butter with potato and spinach garnish. I strategically asked for the dessert to-go, expecting to have no more stomach capacity by the end of the meal. In all, another great experience at a solid price.
