Avocado Toast
Grace K.

Came here for ladies brunch one Sunday late morning. I appreciate the low-key vibe of MoonWInk's Cafe. It's a great casual spot for one-on-one or smaller group meet-ups. This would also be a great spot for some reading/studying on a computer. The service was friendly and quick. My avocado toast came out quickly and just hit the spot as a light snack. There are also little breakfast treats and desserts such as muffins, cookies, and brownies you can enjoy here. I didn't have any coffee last time I was here, but my friends really enjoyed the coffee. Cute little spot! I would recommend checking out if you're in the area.

Alisa's Bagel (Vegan)

Parking was easy in shared private lot. Bathrooms gender neutral. Service was quick and good (person who took our order complimented my coat, bagels brought out in a timely fashion by one of the back staff). My vegan bagel was delicious! Warm, toasted, salty, savory... my husband had the lox bagel and liked it as well. Docking a star because the bathroom was a little gross (gnarly plunger receptacle) and I think they could make the sitting space better, a guest tripped over a chair while we were there for example. So definitely a little tougher to maneuver than ideal.

It's been about a month now since Moonwinks expanded into the bar business. Moonwinks Tavern opened in what what been a jewelry/gift shop adjacent to the café. They offer a nice selection of craft beers (mostly SE Michigan brewed) and cocktails, as well as pizzas, sliders, tacos, and apps. We've tried a couple of pizzas and liked them a lot. Style is thin crust (with thick edges), toppings spare, but flavorful. Pies come personal and shareable sizes, and we find the shareable is just right for a dinner for two. Space is small but clean and light, and there are a number of picnic tables outdoors...would be very pleasant to sit out there on a warm summer evening. Service has been friendly and attentive. I live nearby and appreciate having a cozy neighborhood pub.

Bacon Me Happy - YUM! Something in this makes it so flavorful!

Had the Bacon Me Happy bagel sandwich - OMG what is in this thing? Is it the gruyere? Is there a special sauce? At first it just looks like a standard sandwich but no - something about it is super savory. Totally coming back. Service was kind and I didn't feel rushed.

This place was adorable great coffee and tea. Nice scones and bagel sandwiches. Overall recommend checking out.

Cute little cafe in Dixboro. We stopped here on our Sunday motorcycle ride. Lot of Bicycle riders taking a break from their rides on Plymouth road and people grabbing a bite after Sunday church next doors seem to be regulars here. This is right by the Dixboro project. We just got Fresh Lemonade since we were hot on the motorbike. The barista's and the cashier was very friendly she even exchanged the orange juice for a lemonade for free. I liked the sign and the atmosphere in the cafe! Great stop for every sunday now even for a lunch bite.

It's embarrassing to admit, but my parents literally live down the street from this little gem and I only tried it for the first time this month. I was in town for the weekend and walk down to check it out. It was packed for a Friday afternoon and there was a steady flow of people. It is small, but very cute and cozy. Staff was very friendly. I wish they would stay open longer (and think they would certainly get the business), but I appreciated how they closed at 4pm and never once rushed any of the customers who were in the cafe. I left around 4:15pm and there were still quite a few people in there (I know what it's like to be on the opposite side, as a staff member, but nonetheless, I appreciated their customer service). I got a delicious seasonal drink (Autumn Harvest Coffee) and an orange muffin, and both were delicious.v I will definitely being going back every time I visit Ann Arbor!

The slaw has a sweet-tangy flavor that adds umph without overpowering the sandwich. As someone who usually skips slaw, it's the perfect amount of crisp layered in so it complements everything instead of taking over. The bread is toasted to a perfect crisp on the outside while the inside is soft. The contrast between the crispy exterior and the soft, tasty interior holds me in the moment. The cheese is the final touch that balances the crisp bread and crunchy slaw. Every texture works together. The portion size surprised me. I ordered the small thinking it would be light, but it was more than enough. I was completely stuffed and couldn't imagine ordering a large. I wish I could somehow fly this sandwich over anytime I wanted as I'm from another state, but it's that memorable. I actually came back two days in a row just to have it again. It's going to live in my mind for a long time.

It is, for all intents and purposes, a vegetarian Ruben. I love the meaty Swiss Emmental cheese used in this dish. The "farm bread" at this establishment is similarly exceptional. I also appreciate how every sandwich is served with a house-made pickle. For dessert, do not miss the cheesecake. I further recommend the vanilla cream soda served at the soda fountain here for anyone with a sweet tooth. In all, Zingerman's is one of Ann Arbor's finest restaurants. I will certainly return.

This is a super cute spot that specializes in smoked meat and sausages... yes please. We ordered at the counter and the employees were very friendly and helpful with great suggestions. I got the Michigan asparagus, onion, and cheddar brat, and Nate got the currywurst. We also got a cup of chili to share. We got a buzzer for our order and then sat down in the heated outdoor space. They have a lot of outdoor seating and some firepits, so I really want to come back in the fall or summer. Our food was done quickly and we had fun picking stuff from the toppings bar. They had chopped onions, jalapenos, banana peppers, sauerkraut etc. and lots of sauces. I LOVED the brat. It was easy to bite and not super snappy which I didn't mind. The bun was perfectly toasted and the flavor combination was delicious. Kind of like a broccoli cheddar vibe. I had some of the currywurst which was also delicious! The chili was packed with brisket and pulled pork, and was really tasty. There is a bar so you can enjoy a beer with your sausage, but we just grabbed some cold drinks from the cooler. They even have ice cream and floats!! There are lots of great items for sale as well, including lots of pickled things, frozen pierogi, meat sticks and jerky, and they even have Trenary Toast (#iykyk). I am already planning my next visit to try more brats and the brisket sandwich. This is such a great concept and I really wish we had a place like this in Grand Rapids.

We would have to wait for a table for 35 minutes, so we opted to sit at the bar. Service was quick and quaint. We ended up ordering an order of fries with their delicious and thick garlic aioli, 2 pasta Bolognese, 2 burgers, and a mushroom pizza. The food came out impressing-ly fast given how crowded they were. Everyone on my team enjoyed their selections, my mushroom pizza was exquisite - earthy, but the chili oil that came with the pizza made the dish more flavorful. The gentleman at the bar on 12/16 that served us was excellent. I wished I got his name so I can call him out in this review. He knew the menu inside and out, gave us suggestions, and helped make our lunch out relatively quick.

As ex-bartenders when we were in our youth, we know turnover in restaurants is high but you should know they made us feel so special. Our last experience (11/16) was fine....food and bar service wise. New bar staff will find their way. The quiche with the mushrooms - excellent. The new burger variation - awesome. However, I have been stewing for two weeks about this visit. We waited at the high-top area for bar seats. The manager (we think) with fun hair color noticed I was waiting at the patrons bar service area and offered us the high-top table and asked us if we wanted to stay in that area. They took our order but within minutes, two bar seats opened up. I asked said manager if it would be a problem for us to move to the bar with the response of "No problem at all." The waitress in that high-top area didn't take our drink order (gave us water and menus). I had to tell the bar runner those drinks dying on the service bar window were ours...which caused a little staff confusion. The hostess approached us when we got settled at the bar and asked us to pay for the drinks from the high-top area. Not a problem. But $27 for an Aperol Spritz and $20 for a Negroni? GET OUT OF TOWN!!! We've never paid that much for drinks at your establishment. We dine out every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to various 3 to 5 star reviewed Metro Detroit area restaurants. Every bartender we've shared this story with has DROPPED THEIR JAWS. It's a shame, I don't think will be back.
