My family and I came here on Father's Day around 11am. When we arrived, the hostess said it would be about a 30min wait to be seated. Unfortunately that turned into over an hour wait. They also don't take reservations. I'm sure it was extra busy because of Father's Day, but I would plan to wait if I did come back here or go during non-peak hours. We had the Carnitas Santa Fe (tons of complex and complimentary flavors and textures) and braised short rib Benny (special that was quite unique but not as complex as the carnitas). Although I usually never care about service, I WILL care about it if you automatically tip yourself 20% before I even get the bill for TWO people. Don't get me wrong. Overall the foods pretty good--has an interesting menu and if you like pancakes there are a handful of options. On the smaller side so there can be a bit of a wait/tight but it is nicely decorated and bright. There are some parking lots nearby. At this location the service is not great-GP from what I remember was better. When we were seated it was taking 10-15+ minutes for someone to come for a water so we ended up leaving. Another time we went, the waitress only checked in for ordering the meal--we couldn't get refills on water or coffee from when she first sat us and the food, there were mistakes with the food we couldn't get fixed, and we had to order takeout at the bar because she never showed up again. We had to flag her down for the check and as we were in a corner tucked away it was difficult to get any servers attention. The Elvis french toast ($15) - This is one of those unique options, as the french toast is stuffed with peanut butter, banana cream cheese, and bacon. The Meat Lovers Skillet ($15 + $2 for cinnamon swirl pancakes) - This one is more of a traditional breakfast skillet with potatoes, ham, bacon, sausage, cheese, and two eggs. Definitely a good and delicious option for meat lovers like myself. It was really nice that you can also add your choice of specialty pancakes to go with this for only $2 extra. I chose the cinnamon swirl pancakes, which were nice and fluffy, although didn't have too much cinnamon flavor. There was also a nice dollop of cream on top of the pancakes. I thought the prices here were very reasonable and the food was good value considering the portion sizes. I liked the environment here, as it is casual with a combo of traditional and modern decor (ex: exposed brick wall by the bar to go with modern lighting and brunchy decor). There is definitely a strong University of Michigan vibe in the restaurant too, unsurprisingly given the proximity to the university. There was a handful of tables still open for weekend brunch when we arrived. Our waitress was average friendliness and the service speed was pretty fast. Burrito was actually a manageable size (though don't get me wrong, very filling). Good amount of chorizo and egg, and everything inside was well mixed together so that you got a little of everything each bite. I added ranchero to each bite and enjoyed, has a little spicy kick to it. Fruit cup was grapes, a slice of pineapple, and a slice of watermelon! Stopped in right around opening at 8am on a Monday and there was plenty of open seating (though I will say, it wasn't empty!). Bright/modern interior. Friendly and prompt service. We've been going to Jagged Fork for years, and overall, the restaurant is great. But the Ann Arbor location continues to be a disappointment when it comes to one specific item: the Cloud Nine Crêpes. We've complained many times--over the course of the past two years--and nothing has changed. Every time we order this dish at the Ann Arbor location, they barely put any of the strawberry-flavored cream cheese inside the crêpes. You end up with an almost empty crêpe that's missing the key component that makes the dish so good. Even worse, if you ask for more, they charge you extra for a side of the filling--something no other Jagged Fork location does. West Bloomfield, for example, always serves the crêpes with a generous amount of the cream cheese filling, as it should be. It's incredibly frustrating and feels like the Ann Arbor location is cutting corners and taking advantage of customers. If you're ordering the Cloud Nine Crêpes here, be prepared to be disappointed. read more
