For a friend's recent birthday brunch, we arranged to meet at the Dexter Brunch House. I never visited the restaurant that was here before, but was eager to check the place out. Upon arriving I was promptly led to a table large enough for our party. The server greeted me not long after and brought me a coffee as I waited for the rest of the crew. The menu was large and varied, with enough options to accommodate any tastes or dietary needs. I settled on the meat lovers omelet, with breakfast potatoes on the side. The omelet arrived hot and was full of bacon, ham, and sausage. The portion was generous and I would have gotten a box if I thought it would reheat well. Definitely one you could consider splitting with a friend when you come. The place was buzzing with activity the whole time we were there, and service didn't miss a beat throughout. So far our experience at DBH has been fantastic! The food is delicious- you can tell everything is very fresh and delicious. I've dined in once and ordered to go once. I really enjoy all the freshly cooked meat on the farmers omelette and the sweet breakfast is also quite good. I've tried the strawberry cheesecake waffles and s'mores pancakes. Beautiful presentation, friendly service, this is definitely a wonderful staple for a breakfast diner near us! They've redone the inside and though not perfectly chic it looks a lot nicer. They (greatly needed) replaced the booth seats so there are giant holes secured with duct tape. The two (small) criticisms I have are that it's slightly overpriced for where it is (feel like DT A2 prices rather than Dexter) and I specified no green peppers in my omelette and I did find one. Unfortunately, pepper is a very strong taste and it leached into some of the surrounding omelette ingredients. It looked like possibly fell in with onions or something? Either way, would prefer they were a little more careful. We are big fans of DBH. read more

Came here with a close friend this past week. To start, food was really amazing. It's not my top spot for breakfast in the area but it's definitely fighting for first. The food was fresh when it came out and made perfectly. The bacon was a little crisp for me but that's just my preference. My tea was comforting and I appreciated that they had extra hot water to replace it when i finished my first cup. I also tried some of the s'mores pancake and it was very delicious. I'm not a dessert breakfast person and I would come back just for those. They weren't too sweet but definitely delicious. As far as service, our waitress was very nice, I believe her name was Emma, and she would check in on us well and make sure our needs were met. She did give us the check a little early (I wasn't even half done with my food) but I understood because it was busy. Regardless, she was very kind and I would hope to be served by her again next time. The ambiance was like sitting in someone's dining room. If wasn't overly fancy or decorated, but just a good place to come and dine. I could imagine walking around Dexter and coming here on a nice summer morning. I already recommended this place to my family and I'm excited to come back. read more

Decided to try DBH on Saturday brunch time. The place is very busy but the wait was short. Unfortunately there is little room to stand around while waiting for a table and you will need to listen for your name. We were sat in the far room, in the middle of the room. This place sure packs in the tables. It took about 30 mins to get our food. I ordered the Mex Benny and unfortunately had to ask them to take it back as the chorizo was cold. She took it and immediately addressed the issue. Brought me back a fresh set of Bennys in a bowl and at proper temp. It was very good being hot. The eggs are a perfect poach and the chorizo is delicious. My only notes for this dish are the pickled jalapeños in the hollandaise sauce and the hash browns. Scalloped potatoes are not hash browns. PICKLED jalapeños is the key word here. Fresh Jalapeños are my choice condiment but introducing vinegar to hollandaise just ruins it. To be fair the menu only said 'spicy hollandaise'. I expect chipotle or something else but if DBH reads this, please reconsider using pickled jalapeños in things that should not have vinegar. The berry crepes and corned beef hash were very good. The berries were super fresh and my hubs loved the hash. This is a family friendly spot. It's loud. The waitresses are hustling. Be patient. read more

This was our first time going, and we will definitely be going back. The food was made from scratch, and everything tasted amazing. We had a very picky eater (and former restaurant owner from CA) with us that really wanted to try the corned beef, but was very hesitant because his standards are high. Thankfully Andrea, our fantastic server, encouraged him to go for it, and he absolutely loved it. He said it was the best he's ever had, even beating out his chef son's. Andrea was attentive, friendly, offered suggestions, and made the experience fun and relaxing. We will be back! read more

I have been here several times and it just keeps getting better. From the moment you enter the restaurant till seated then escorted out, I feel that I have been wrapped in kindness and joy. The ambiance is from the planet love. The service is always punctual and thoughtful. After a few minutes I am joined by the owners, Enzo and Nella, who are wonderful people. I have a simple meal of their corn beef hash and eggs. The hash is exceptional. Made from fresh corn beef, cooked by Enzo each morning, it has great taste and texture. I've had it 2 ways, both great! This is a great place to go for breakfast. It is way over there in Dexter therefore not like being on Jackson Road or in Ann Arbor, but it is only 20 min away. Go! We waited 20 minutes for a table and then waited 45 minutes after ordering for the food to come. There are no cocktails or beer/wine at this "brunch" spot. We had nothing to do but look at the absolutely filthy water glasses. The server never apologized for the food being late, nor offered any bread to hold us over. We finally left after over an hour of time without any food. Worst customer service I've ever received. The table that came in after us got their food a d were done eating 20 minutes before we left. I like this place! The interior was a nice upgrade from River View days. We have never seen the dining room so crowded which was a good sign. The servers were attentive and enthusiastic. It was nice to see one of the veteran servers from River View days and she made a point of coming over to welcome us. We both ordered sandwiches for lunch. The portions were huge so it winded up being lunches for two days. The food had a nice fresh taste to it. My only nit was that the menu was overwhelming. Reminded me of a Jersey Diner menu.
