Great discover! Apparently known well by locals. I actually wish I had known about this place before: I plan to eat here when I am in the neighborhood. Prices are reasonable (post-Pandemic) and service amazing. Situation was very "lone-dining" friendly-- I even managed to snare a copy of the Sunday Detroit Free Press from the library table. Fabulous selections on the menu with great breakfast standards and some unique items. Nice lunch or dinner selections as well. Do not miss this place if you are near Pinckney!!!! read more

This place is hit or miss. Sometimes they have great food other times it can be just alright. They have a wide variety to pick from.

We came here when IHOP was closed with a hankering for pancakes. They nailed it! I ordered chocolate chip pancakes and thought they were better than IHOP. My husband got the blueberry pancakes with the breakfast combo. I also ordered a side of country ham, which was awesome. The service was great, and they had us social distanced from the other customers. This was our first time eating out since March, and we were really happy. read more

first time to Pickney diner ordered a turkey Reuben. disappointed in the lack of turkey in the sandwich turkey Reuben is my favorite sandwich. I ordered it everywhere. I go normally restaurants put a half inch of turkey in the sandwich. Some deli put a whole inch which wasn't the case at this restaurant, they had two lunch meat slices of turkey and the sandwich couldn't have had a quarter of an inch of turkey, coleslaw tasted great and the onion rings were good. But if I were you, I'd skip the turkey Ruben! read more

Not very busy . Food came in sections. Coleslaw is bland. Then the French fries came out 20 minutes later. When I asked the waitress if they were warm she put her hand on the basket of fries and said , "they are good". Then finally 20 minutes the last person in our party received her meal. Definitely the best diner in the area. Their menu is huge, the prices are cheap, and most of their food is great. (The only miss so far for me was their mac and cheese.) At the Pinckney Dinner. Brenda got the Michigan salad, Tim got the crazy burger and Brenda had to try the chicken lemon rice soup. As diner's go, Pinckney Diner was perfectly fine. The food isn't mind-blowing, but it's very affordable and extremely reliable. If I want a solid omelet for a fair price, I'll come over to the Diner. For $10.50, I received a chicken and feta meal with a coleslaw, french fries, mixed veggies and bread rolls. Also, for a diner, they have a very expansive menu - over five pages! The inside is cute, with patches of red brick on the eggshell walls. The waitress was super fast and had my cup refilled before I knew I needed it. If you're looking for a good value and want fast casual, the Diner is a good choice. read more

We trekked our family to this diner for their Friday all you can eat fish fry. Having three teenage boys that love fried fish, seemed like a perfect choice. The food was good, the server was really nice, but this is the second visit and same story as the first visit last year: slow-ass kitchen. The place was NOT busy, or at least it didn't look busy. All of us got our food while one of the teens had to sit and wait 15 minutes and I am not exaggerating. The waitress kept coming to the table and apologizing. Checking the window, etc, but no food. Nothing was offered in compensation. I fed the kid my dinner to tied him over. We were all starving. The portions were great and this place would be choice all around - if the darn kitchen was better. read more

Went here a couple weeks ago with my husband for brunch. I have Celiacs disease so I have to eat gluten free. I ordered oatmeal and the waitress scoffed at me. Then when she brought our food out she waved my husbands plate of food in my face (food that I can't eat) and said "yuuuuuum". She was incredibly rude. Stopped in for breakfast, ordered an omelet that included 3 sides; toast, hash browns and fruit .... I asked to substitute all three sides for sliced tomatoes and cottage cheese. Bill came and I was up charged $3.50 for a tiny cottage cheese and $.70 for three slices of tomatoes! When I questioned the server, she said 'she was told to add the charges'. Then because I already paid for the 'included three sides', I asked to have them to-go as take out and was refused. She should have made me aware when the order was being placed ... and, to top things off the omelet was terrible-tasted like it was doctored-up with flour or something. I used to come here a lot when I was a kid. Good breakfast and a cute place to go grab a bite!

My husband and I came to the diner with our two year old son when we were in the area looking at a rental home. It wasn't busy but we got seated right away and the ladies who worked there were SUPER nice. My son got milk right away, and he even ordered his own rice (he's 2) which isn't normally a side but they were able to substitute it for his side with his grilled cheese. I have no complaints about the people or the service. The food is what you would expect out of a neighborhood diner, certainly not 5 star cuisine but again, no complaints. Since we'll be renting a house a few minutes away I'm sure we'll be back when we want some good diner food! read more

You guys!! Cmon! You have really good foo3r and decent service but this place is sooo filthy. I'm waiting for a carry out and just entering the building the glass door looks as dirty as when I was here 2 weeks ago. The sides of the booths and side of the cashier stand is dripping in filth. All these guys in the back could surely run a broom through the area. I'm guessing the rug hasn't been vacuumed in awhile. Decor is nice but I just don't feel like I can eat here again until it's cleaned up. read more

I called in a carry out. When I arrived for pick up the diner was semi busy but I received a warm sincere greeting. My food was ready a head of time so I paid and left. The carry out was correct and had plastic ware included. The food was tasty. Farmland omelette was good, biscuits and gravy was great. My wife ordered cinnamon raisin French toast and was disappointed she expected more cinnamon flavor and it to taste sweeter. We just moved to Pinckney in April. This was the second local restaurant we went to. We've eaten here several times. The service has always been great there and every meal I've had was good. The food isn't fancy. It's just good, solid, American dining at a reasonable price. I highly recommend the Bison Melt. read more

Horrible. I was wondering why the place was empty. Seems to have gone down hill since I was there last. Service was bad-- the waitress never refilled our drinks, and she was not at all friendly or helpful. The patty melt patty was tiny--as small as a McDonalds small burger, no horseradish even though they said they had it. To top it off--bathrooms were not clean. That says it all. We won't be back. It's too bad--Pinckney could use some good diners with good food. read more
