Hands down best corned beef hash and eggs I've had in ages!! I had my doubts since the corned beef was sliced thin like a deli sandwich, but it's made in house and has a fantastic flavor and wasn't dry at all! The corned beef hash includes green, red, and yellow peppers and perfectly cooked potatoes! Corned beef hash is served w eggs to order and toast--highly recommend the rye bread (rye DOESN'T have seeds!) My friend and I both had the hash and both were very happy w our meals! Located in downtown Howell, food was hot, good, and fast! The inside of the cafe looked like some work was being done, but I would not mind coming back next time I'm in Howell. My waitress was very nice and made sure to fill my coffee when she walked by. Which I appreciate! You kind of know what to expect going to a Coney Island and this was on par with the rest. We were excited to go to Mark's Midtown Coney when we saw that it reopened. Today was the first time we were able to, we went for a late breakfast, a little after 11:30. They were relatively busy, but our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I got the farmer's omelette, and thoroughly enjoyed it. My significant other got the Reuben omelette, which we both thought was a unique menu item, and he really liked it! We will be back for sure! read more

I walked into the Howell Coney put in an order to go there was only one ahead of me and the guy kept cooking Food tickets that were added after mine, it took a half hour and then when I got to where I was going the order wasn't even right I guess it's great if you're regular cuz he'll cook your food first no matter when your order went in. read more

We had a delightful lunch at Mark's in downtown Howell. Service is fast and attentive, everything is prepared quickly, and you get a good value for your hard-earned cash. I had a turkey Reuben with sauerkraut & fries. Hubby had a burger - his usual. He said it was done just right - medium rare. When I got there with my friends for breakfast, it was busy (Sunday morning). We seated ourselves and it seems that there was only one waitress working. It took a while for our orders, but I ended up with coffee and farmers omelet. It was omelette's rolled with hash brown inside (like omelets sushi). With some ketchup and hot side on side, it was good. Nothing to write home about, food was good, service could have been better. They take cash or credit cards. In addition to breakfast items, they also serve other diner type of foods. If you are in Howell and need a place to eat, give Mark's a try. read more

The food wasn't great, service was quite slow (we were warned by a sign at the door though, so that's fine, just FYI in case you have a schedule), and the prices were high for what we got. We ordered the biscuits and gravy with bacon and the Apple Strudel French toast. Biscuits and gravy were just fine. The bacon was super greasy and kind of soggy. Bummer that the bacon was an extra $4 for that. The Apple Strudel French toast was a huge disappointment. With a name like that we were expecting it to be topped with apples and...strudel topping. What we got was 3 slices of French toast with about 3 bites of apple total, embedded in the toast, and a dusting of powdered sugar. Honestly it looked like normal French toast except it wasn't even thicker bread. Certainly not a $9 breakfast dish. read more

Ate breakfast at Mark's this morning with a buddy. The first thing we noticed was how clean everything was inside. Nicely done decorations and the furniture is new, etc. Another positive for Mark's Coney is its location right on Grand River in downtown Howell. From inside the diner you look out right into the nice downtown area. I had poached eggs, sausage and hash browns. My friend had the same, but with eggs over easy. The breakfasts were good, maybe even better than most diners, cause the sausage was obviously homemade and quite tasty. Other than that, the orange juice was fresh squeezed, the coffee was hot and so was the waitress, which never hurts my feelings. read more

This diner is really small but the food is great...when they have it. I've tried ordering soup and coney dogs only to discover they have no soup and/or coney sauce. Um...this is a Coney Island, right? The service could also use some attention. I've been here a few times and there seems to be 2-3 regular waitresses. Two are really nice, the third looks and acts tartar sauced every time I see her and/or interact with her. They also close at a ridiculously early time...about 3:00PM. Due to this, I'm only giving it 3 stars, however, if you're willing to gamble and get the two nice waitresses and good food (fingers crossed they have what you order), then I recommend you giving it a try. read more

A wonderful little gem of a restaurant located in downtown Howell, MI. The food is always deliciously fresh, and very nicely plated. Very nice portions, but not a pig trough either! I usually order the Healthy Start Platter or scrambled eggs and a perfectly cooked to order beef patty with fresh tomato slices. Their tuna platter is also delicious. The wait staff is very efficient and friendly. Plenty of delicious hot coffee too! A great way to start the weekend. read more

Visiting the Howell area and my fiance, being from the west side of Michigan, never been to a Coney island. Saw this one on our way through downtown and decided to stop for breakfast. Great decision.The food was excellent and very fairly priced. The wait staff was very friendly and on the ball. Ummm yeah, do yourself a favor and just don't. The service is severely lacking and the atmosphere is equivalent to a small closet. The waitress took about ten different table's orders at the same time without writing it down causing her to frequently ask what you ordered and bringing you the wrong order.
