Not really a fan. I ordered a grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup. My soup tasted sour, and when I let the server know, she seemed confused and said that the chef must've added lemon juice into it. Ok? Then she replaced it with a vegetable soup that wasn't really that good. My grilled cheese was pretty stellar. That's why I gave him a two star instead of a one star review. The employees seemed friendly enough, but everything just seemed really disorganized like the woman who was running the cash register was also handling carryout while three waitresses just stood around. Like why not jump in and help each other out . The location is pretty convenient to a lot of stores so I think they get a lot of business that way, but I'd recommend going to another location. read more

We were invited by our 85 year old friends to eat at Leo's in Howell. We haven't been together in years. I ordered battered fish and chips. The fish were saturated with grease inside and out. The fries were cold upon delivery. I didn't want to create a scene because of our friend's invitation, so I quietly sat there pretending to eat the grease and very cold fries. Finally I stopped. About 15 minutes before we left the waitress approached me and ask if there was anything wrong. I told her, and she asked if she could get me something else. I said that we're leaving soon, and I didn't want my friends to sit there and wait for me. There was something very wrong with the fish that was served. I love Leo's... but this location, ever since the virus, has really gone down hill. First off, the place never seems clean and always has a old mop water smell; which is surprising in this time. The bathroom door handle was sticky, there was no soap in the men's room; only hand sanitizer! Then there's the food... where to begin?! Our fries were undercooked and soggy with oil, while the onion rings were burnt! My gyro had a chemical taste... I think it was the sauce; it's like they forgot how to make it or dropped some windex in it! Yuck!! The waitress didn't know the menu and clearly didn't have kids, because despite us being her only table, she wasn't very responsive and as our kids were going nuts because they were hungry, she didn't do much to help speed things along. read more

Our first visit to Leo's was in April. We had never been to this location before and didn't know what to expect. The inside was clean but somewhat dated. As soon as we sat down we were greeted by our friendly server, (Morgan?). She was very patient and provided recommendations from the large selection on the menu. We went with her recommendations and ordered Greek salads, chicken wings, coney dogs, a wrap and a couple of different appetizers. Our food and drinks came out quickly and was very good. Since then we have been back 4 times. Todays visit was no different. We were greeted by Ashley' friendly smile and enjoyed good food and great service. The only Leo's in the chain that puts lettuce in a Village Salad and wants to charge you the extra money for vegetables you won't get. No manager available on Saturday to inquire about the discrepancy, but the wait staff said that's a managerial decision and that's how "we" do it. Seems like that can't be? Part of a larger chain of coney islands across SE Mich. Located across the street from the Tanger Outlet Stores in Howell. x133 on I-96. This location is way smaller than it looks from the outside. The food was good, the atmosphere was decent, the crowd was nice (it was uber busy on a saturday afternoon when we were there), the service was fair, the prices were typical for this type of establishment. I spent many years growing up in the Detroit area before moving to Chicago - I miss every day the Coney dogs I grew up with and Leo's is the place I stop in whenever I come to town. While there are diehard fans out there of American and Lafayette (I am not EVEN going to get into that debate, despite the fact that I have a favorite) I usually will choose Leo's because of the convenience factor. I find it hard to compel me to go all the way downtown, when a reasonable version is just minutes away from where I am visiting. Let me start out by saying i love most of the leos coney island restaurants but this one on burkart road is by far the worst leos anywhere. I have been 7 times now and 5 out of the 7 times my food has been wrong or gross and old. I walked in today and we sat down at a booth and 4 girls who worked here looked at us sit down then continued to talk about a bar and locations how to get to a bar for 11 minutes without even coming to the table. So when she finally came over we ordered and the omelette came with no cheese which was wrong and the avocado i ordered on the side was black and some frozen in the middle. They also just threw a whole avocado on the plate and never even bothered to slice it up. After the waitress dropped our food off she never returned again for coffee and she has been walking past our empty cups for almost 20 minutes now. Worst money and waitresses ever! read more

Wait staff is very helpful and nice for the most part, the food is great. It seems like they are way under staffed on most days and it's also the hottest place I've ever eaten at. It feels like they have the heat on every time I go in there during the summer which is very unpleasant. The worst part about any restaurant is when it feels like an oven when you walk in and that's Leo's. I would recommend their food to anyone but would not recommend eating in because it's unbearably hot in there and it is very difficult to enjoy your meal when you are burning up the whole time. Today I placed a carryout order. The first time I called, I was immediately placed on hold. Several minutes later, she came back to the phone. I placed the order, and right after I did, the phone disconnected. I called back and was immediately placed on hold again for several minutes. I hung up and called back and told her "This is the 3rd time I've tried to place an order!" She said "uh yeah, i accidentally lost you the first time...but I've got to finish something up really quick. Hold on a minute" When I went in, the line for the register was all messed up, so she took two people who came up to the register AFTER me. I was on my lunch break and had placed two separate orders for my coworker and myself. The girl said incredulously, "I see you have TWO orders?! Did you want me to combine them???" (which is quite ignorant, but no biggie) I then got back to work and found they left out the pita bread that I should have received with my Michigan salad. I was not amused. My coworker said her cheese fries were DRY, and there was a mere SLIVER of cheese.
