    Greek Burger with gyro meat.
    Julia Z.

This is the cleanest Coney Island I've ever been in! Spotless. I had the gyro burger. Delicious combo of a hamburger and gyro meat with tadziki sauce. They grilled the bun!! Great service. Quiet atmosphere. One note: Bathrooms are downstairs and not accessible for those in wheelchairs, using walkers or with mobility issues.

    Spanakopita (Greek Spinach pie),

For more than 20 years we have been enjoying this classic diner. My son loves their Reuben and Sothern omelet. My go to is the Greek omelet). Truly delicious, home-cooked comfort food at its best. You cannot find a better spinach pie (Spanakopita)! Try a Greek salad with homemade Greek dressing, it's fabulous. I absolutely love this restaurant; the service and quality are top-notch.

    Hidden gem? Lets find out

I highly recommend Achilles. I ordered the Southern Omelette with bacon. I always order this type of omelette when I experience a restaurant for the first time. The hash browns came inside the omelette and were perfectly cooked. This was easily one of the best omelettes I have had in the Ann Arbor area! Additionally, the service was great and I never had a empty cup of coffee. I will definitely be going back to try more. A hidden gem indeed.

Chicken strips dinner with sides of soup and fries - $8.50
    Andrew P.

I think I chose the wrong thing to eat but I personally had a poor experience compared to other reviews. The prices here are your typical diner fare and the breakfast and lunch options seem good. My chicken strip dinner was less than satisfactory. The strips were small and the temperatures were not well maintained - the BBQ sauce was too chilled and the soup was scalding hot. Additionally, I had to remind the waitstaff of my bread basket which came out chilled as well. In addition, the service was not the greatest - the waitress seemed to be in a rush to get off her shift and was not the most attentive. She also seemed a bit pushy to get our orders. I might give this place a second chance as there are not many diner options around and the prices are reasonable - but I didn't have a good first experience.

Lamb gyro plate with hash and eggs.

Cheap and decent diner food with good service. No complaints. Very friendly staff and constantly came by to refill our coffees. Had the lamb gyro dish with hashbrowns, eggs and toast. Nothing over the top or remarkable. Overall, a nice quick sitdown for any meal in the day with friendly fast service.

This is a cute little restaurant. It offers the usual diner fare like tuna melts and breakfast all day, as well as a few Greek specialties. The decor is diner kitsch, with posters of James Dean, the Statue of Liberty or jukeboxes on the walls. On the warm but overcast summer day I was there, they had the windows open instead of running the air conditioning. The temperature was fine, but the wind was blowing in just the wrong direction so that some of the smell from the smoking side was wafting over to the non-smoking side. I ordered a veggie gyro, which was really just a veggie pita wrap sandwich. Depending on what the ingredients for the flatbread are, this could be a completely vegan meal, as it was just a mix of sauteed vegetables along with fresh tomato and lettuce wrapped in a round of soft, fluffy flatbread. There was a really thick, creamy tzadziki on the side, and the sandwich was very satisfying. By itself, I could have eaten a meal, including tip, for around $5. However, I got it as a combo meal, with fries, a mini Greek salad, and a soda pop. The fries were nothing special; they were good, though a few were a little limp and undercooked. The mini Greek salad was really good, with generous chunks of feta cheese, really fresh-tasting kalamata olives, and perfectly ripe red tomatoes. I thought it was odd that they used what seemed like a bag mix of lettuce with red cabbage and carrots, instead of just using romaine. However, it didn't detract from the salad, and the Greek dressing that came on the side was good and obviously made in-house. Unfortunately, the soda was flat, and when I sent it back, the second glass was equally flat. However, the waitress was apologetic about it, and, by the third try, they'd changed their CO2 canister, and I finally got a fizzy diet Coke. They have really good breakfast deals here, as low as $2.49 on weekdays before 11 a.m., and I may have to go back to sample their breakfasts some time.

Super Coney, fries and slaw. Way to go Dearborn sausage! You'll need a knife and a fork for this job.

Chocolate chip pancakes were yum. The waffles were soggy and cold by the time they came but otherwise I liked their stuff!

The chicken lemon rice soup is to die for. And they sell it in quarts so I can take it home! Comfort food at its best.

Unfortunately, they didn't provide a cup of water (I'm too cheap to buy water). The food was good! We ordered Falafel salad and rice and Chicken Shawarma bowl. Both were delicious! My husband pointed out that the garlic sauce on the chicken shawarma looked a little...like something else. But it was garlic sauce (yet it looks different in other people's pictures). Anywho, they give you big portions for affordable prices ($10)!! And it's tasty!

I had seen this shot before, but had never been in. So I ventured in to the Brothers St., Food. It features Halal gyros and a few other Mediterranean options. I went up and ordered from the friendly man behind the counter . Although I was very hungry, I really only wanted something quick and small so I ordered the traditional Gyro without fries. I sat down and waited for my order, which was done in under five minutes. I took it home to eat and was very surprised at the generous size of the sandwich. The meat was flavorful. The tzatziki dressing was just the right amount. It wasn't dripping out of the bottom yet there was plenty of it. There was room to sat down and eight in as there are booths and a couple of small tables, but like I said, I was in a hurry. The bread was soft and overall, it was a very delightful sandwich . I would go back again and try other items. You should too!

Ducked off in an off the road plaza sits this delight. Upon entry we were greeted by a very nice young man who was cleaning and sanitizing tables(bonus from me). The staff is super friendly, and at this location my friends and I found that there was ample seating for our group as well. The menu contains all the standard favorites you'd expect from a Gyro spot, and the prices are reasonable (especially for Ann Arbor). The food itself is solid, and tastes authentic & natural -- big pros when getting a quick bite at a casual spot. Outside of the taste itself, the quantity is massive; on my my most recent visit I got an Ahmo's bowl, and it was way too much food for me to finish in one sitting. He removed only ONE of his gloves and then proceeded to hanldle the transaction. He touched the money with both hands. He then put a new glove on his other hand, while leaving the one he had touched money with, intact. He then started to make the food for the other customers. This is unsanitary and disgusting.
