salmon, broccoli, and rice. Tastes as good as it looked. This is a gem of a restaurant in Ypsilanti. One of the best if not number one

The best restaurant in town. Great staff and cooks. Thanks for all the great service over the years

Just what you expect at a good old fashioned diner on the side of the road. Freshly made food at good prices and great service! Seems everything the make is fresh! This is not an IHOP or Denny's by a great diner with freshly made food. I had their special hash with lots of meat and veggies. My coworker had the liver and onions. The food was great! Fast service and great food will keep me coming back to this place near my office for lunch.

Reminiscent of old school grabbing breakfast at "the coney". Your not coming here for frills, your in and out with a bill reminiscent of the 90s. I love me a breakfast, coffee and OJ from concentrate. Just reminds me times long gone with people long gone. Definitely worth giving a whirl, especially if your a sentimental sap like me!

This place is so good! Excellent diner food at a reasonable price. The employees are super nice, and the service is very fast. I recommend the hippie hash. Always find myself going back to this place for a late breakfast option.

This place is pure Ypsi, and I love Ypsi. It's a small diner with huge windows. Usually a small crowd of older people working type people. The servers are always on point, and good with the coffee refills. The breakfast potatoes are really as good as the other reviews say, and I am always happy mixing them in with a standard but excellent veggie omelette. This place ranks pretty high in my breakfast rotation when I want something low key but high

This place has been, and will continue to be my favorite diner. I feel so at home here! Though I'm a regular at this point, I remember it didn't take long for the wait staff to remember my drink order and have it ready for me as they brought menus. My favorite things about this place are their friendly wait staff, amazing breakfast specials, and their adaptability regarding my vegetarian needs. The food is nice and affordable; especially their breakfast specials. My partner and I can get two specials and one drink (I always get water) for $10. That's not bad at all. The menu options are what one would expect from a diner; American breakfast staples, burgers, fries/onion rings, a few other sides, and a few Mediterranean dishes including falafels and hummus. My partner and I are vegetarian, and they're always more than happy to make substitutions with our food. He'll get a burger with falafel patties instead of beef. I get the falafel wrap with hummus. The falafel patties are flavorful and have a nice texture. They've got shakes, smothies, soups, salads, and deserts. I think there's something for everyone here. Definitely recommended if you're in the area!

Thankfully my wife speaks Spanish because her English is definitely limited. There were only two woman working when I ate there. Definite mom and pop vibe. The other people looked Mexican as did the customers who came after me definitely a good sign for authentic food. The drink portion sizes were pretty generous for a small size. The food took some time coming out, my wife enjoyed all three of her tacos. My shrimp taco was good and the corn tortilla was good not overly dry. Two salsas come to the table both were very good. The Gordita was solid liked the lettuce and cheese along with the meat. The thicker corn tortilla goes a longer to fill you up than a taco. Overall a good place, did not blow me away , but solid.

When I first walked in, there were two guys standing at the counter for quite a while. I couldn't figure out what they were doing until I saw the employee counting out cash. I also wasn't sure if I should sit to order my food or order at the counter. Eventually the employee handed me a menu so I sat at a table. There were other tables with native people at them so I figured the food must be good. I ordered a combo meal from the menu written in Spanish. It had two tacos, a tamale, and rice and beans. A short time later I was told they didn't have tamales. I was bummed about that so I ordered three tacos with a side of rice and beans. I was surprised at how long the food took to come out. And the portion of rice and beans was tiny, especially for $4. Of the tacos, the beef was a little tough, but the chicken and pork were good. The rice and beans were both tasty. Just not enough. Overall for over $14, I didn't think the food or experience was worth it. Maybe the tamales are the star of the show.

From the gardens to the land with a creek flowing though it -- to the beautiful building and pleasing decor inside and a porch with tables around much of it. So impressed. The menu, our server explained, is changed out quarterly and this is the new summer one. So many unique small and large plates (but when he described them, they were way more intricate and enticing than the menu even showed). He was attentive and helped guide our choices. We ordered the eggplant small plate to share, then the mushroom pizza (so much tastier than the description would indicate), and the wild boar brat with cherry and peach accents. Everything was delicious. I also got an iced latte with the house made mocha and it was better than alcohol, if you're a coffee lover anyway. 100% plan to come back! And likely soon. This Sunday, my mom invited myself and my siblings to join her for brunch. The ambience was amazing - with lovely natural lighting and gorgeous table settings. The menu makes every dish seem mouthwatering and delicious. When the plates came out, they were gorgeous and the food looked so inviting. Unfortunately, the taste was completely lacking. If you're going to charge the prices they're charging, the flavor should be amazing in every single bite. We sampled four different dishes, and none blew me away. Some, were even borderline "bad." Here's a rundown: mushroom pizza - the description makes it seem like it will be cheesy and full of flavor, but it was very one note duck confit pizza - had three pieces of duck on it and was otherwise covered in hot peppers lemon blueberry pancake - more of a skillet cake - sauce was the best part, otherwise dry on the bottom Raclette burger - $30 which is almost comparable in price to a burger I had at The Four Seasons in Maui. That burger, was worth every penny. This one had absolutely no flavor. The meat tasted like mush - definitely lacked seasoning, and there was not a speck of cheese to be found. If you're going to call a burger a raclette, it should be oozing with cheese. grilled Romaine salad - leaves were bitter and the dressing again, looked delicious, but had no flavor. The flavors did not compliment each other at all - with the pickled grapes, taking away from the dish and contrasting very starkly against the rotten tasting lettuce Brown sugar oat milk latte - really the only thing that delivered both on looks and on flavor. Sadly, not high on my list of places to return. It kind of made me think of Vegas: lots of pomp and glam which momentarily distracts you into thinking you're having the best time of your life. But in retrospect, not very fulfilling.

We were here in December so the patio wasn't open but looks roomy with many picnic tables. We opted to sit at the bar because that's usually where we get personal with brew pubs we love to discover. We always search local brews when traveling and 9/10 times the bartender will greet us, ask if we've been there, make recommendations or tell us a bit about the brewery style. Not here. I'm not sure the bartender ever even made eye contact and pretty sure he wanted to be there even less than he wanted us to be there. We did get a few beer samples by request, but no recommendations, he didn't ask what we thought and he made us feel very unwelcome right from the start. However, once that bartender was relieved the new bartender was chatty and friendly to the new customers. We had finished our beers and meal by that time and just needed to cash out. So I would say maybe it's just that one employee. We had the pretzels. Kudos to the pretzel bread-- it was delicious. Beer cheese was pretty good, as was the mustard. We asked about the menu and what he recommends (still trying to be friendly and get him to warm up). He recommended the special menu, so we ordered the Blackened Salmon sandwich. It was okay/average. Fries were cold. We ordered the Table Talk beer and I enjoyed it. I'd say that the beer was the best part of the whole experience. Overall I'm glad we tried it but we wouldn't go back. If the bartender had been more welcoming and interested in sharing a bit more about the concept, we would give it a second try when we head out there again. It's always good to try other food items and beers, but the vibe doesn't warrant a second try. I can understand if a place is busy, but we were there at 2pm on a Saturday and were two of four at the bar and he didn't look to be super busy with the restaurant as a whole. It's always so disappointing when service falls so short on something that could be such a unique experience. Three stars for the beer and pretzel.

The benedict was also very good, served on a biscuit rather than the traditional english muffin, which I liked very much. Mine was a little light on the hollandaise so I would ask for a bit more of that next time. I also had an iced frozen latte which was quite good! Like many folks right now we're avoiding raw mixed greens so we both skipped those with our meals but even without it was still plenty of food. We also ordered beignets, a mix of powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar, with chocolate and foster's sauce (caramel) on the side. To me the beignets read more like a popover than a beignet but they were still good. Loved that they came warm and the foster's sauce was really nice!
