I went here beause they have a great ambience ans food. It is a hidden gem. It is tucked away in an area that one would not think of. There is plenty of parking in the back or front. We were seated pretty quickly. I ordered the seafood gumbo. It had shrimo, pork, and sausage. It had a a nice roux. Itvqas tasty and very good. There is a large portion. I would definitely get it again. This place is a nice go to. They change their menus regularly. There is friendly staff and service. I look forward to going back.

Had a wonderful time dining at bellflower for brunch. The ambiance and the service are excellent. The cinnamon roll was soft and tasty. The food was good quality, although it is slightly expensive.

How do you spell perfection?! B-E-L-L-flower! We stopped in for a quick lunch with friends and left as big fans of this brilliant restaurant! Everything from the customer service, to the cleanliness of the restaurant, to the food were all top tier! A quick glimpse at their rotating dinner menu, has us looking forward to our next visit!

We finally came back for lunch! Yay, the sandwiches are SO delicious! I got the fried fish sandwich (lol, I don't usually eat fried food but this is too delicious to pass up) and my hubby got the salmon cake sandwich. Both are excellent, filling and flavorful. The sandwiches are pretty large (so we definitely could've just shared one, but love the variety so I saved half for later). Service is excellent (lunch is different since you order at the counter and they serve you your food when you found a table yourself). We decided to sit out in the patio area which does have some shade but yeah, it got hot but it was nice to be outside!). They only have 2 preset cocktails during lunch now (no bartender) but my hubby was able to try a new beer (grab from the fridge). Also, bonus for the weekends is that street parking is free! So we parked right by the front door, super convenient. Wish we lived closer to come more often for lunch!

My sister has spoke highly of Bellflower since first trying it, so we were excited to stop by for brunch on a visit to Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti over the summer. We scored reservations and were seated on their outdoor covered patio. It was a warm day, but it was pretty comfortable out there and all decor had a nice and welcoming vibe. I will say that there were many bugs swarming around, which was not the most pleasant but also difficult to control. Our server was attentive and helpful, offering suggestions when asked. We all started off with coffee, which was standard but hit the spot. For my meal, I opted for the curried hash, which featured eggplant, local veggies, potatoes, and toast. I loved the mixture of veggies - it was light but still substantial enough. The toast was thick and perfectly toasted, a nice vehicle for the hash. The spices and flavors were on point, making it a solid meal overall. My dining partners opted for the salmon cakes (high reviews, but commented that the serving was a bit small), the smoked pork chops (didn't feel seasonal but received rave reviews), the seasonal quiche (very fresh for summer), and the cheese plate (pretty substantial!). We all enjoyed our meals and spoke highly of the quality. The price point is very reasonable for what you get and for the focus on local ingredients. I could have done without the swarming bugs, but not unheard of in August. I would love to revisit to try their other menu items for either brunch or dinner and see how the menu changes with the seasons!

This place is right next to my work and came highly recommended. I finally got to stop in for an early lunch. Believe the hype. The space is cool, modern and beautiful. It's very cozy with beautiful artwork and plants. I ordered the fried fish sandwich. It was phenomenal and would be enough fur 2 lunches for the average person. I will be back very soon to try the other sandwiches and experience dinner as well!

First time trying Bellflower! Can't believe it took me this long. But I think it's because they don't have a ton of vegetarian stuff. There were a few apps and one vegan entree and that was it. However, they were able to vegetarian-ize one of their regular dishes which was nice of them! They change their menu a lot based on local and available ingredients which is great. Super nice server. We loved you, Ken! The interior is gorgeous with natural light, modern, and so many plants every where!!

How have i lived in Ypsi for years and not tried this place? We celebrated my daughter's birthday this past Tuesday and she chose to eat here. We had a party of 6 and were warmly welcomed at the door We did make a reservation so not sure if it is easy to get a table without one. The table was awesome. we were in the covered outdoor area with a heated table. So cozy and plenty warm enough. Our server was a delight. i believe it was Ken. So knowledgeable about all of the dishes and made great recommendations. Try the Maynard! We all LOVED our food. So fresh and delicious. My pork chop was perfectly cooked. The menu changes so i would love to try more things in the future.

There's nothing I could say that would sum up my love for Bellflower's sandwiches. My husband and I love their sandwiches so much and they're consistently PERFECT in quality, service, and taste. The bread they make daily is unreal. I'm not ashamed to admit that we recently picked up sandwiches twice in one day. They have several options and every single one of them is a 10/10. I wouldn't change a single thing. The vibe in there is so cool too, and every single person who works there has been extremely warm, welcoming, and helpful. They're just awesome! So kind and just a great environment. We've also made a couple modifications on sandwiches and every single time they're made perfectly and with the exact modifications we've asked for. I can't recommend Bellflower's sandwiches counter enough. We can't wait to come in and try their brunch and dinner menu as well.

Bellflower is all around fantastic. The interior is simple and modern, they also a small side patio during the warmer months. I've been twice with different friends and had consistently great experiences. The service is on, relaxed, friendly attitude while taking care of the table. The menu is focused, and the better for it, and still difficult to decide on what to order. For better or worse, the menu is always changing depending on what is available fresh. While a bit of a drive from me, I'd return again.

Stopped by The Bellflower for dinner, drawn in by its laid-back look and friendly vibe. Service was welcoming and warm, which set a nice tone for the evening. They have a natural wine option (always a plus), and I tried one from Sicily that was really nice. The atmosphere was cool--airy, arty, and full of plants, with a quiet club beat playing. It's a neat space, not exactly cozy, but perfect if you're into a more minimalist vibe. Outdoor seating was a plus, and it was lively but with plenty of open tables on a Tuesday night. Food-wise, the bread and butter was a T otal standout--freshly baked, slightly salty, and a touch sweet. The kale salad was another highlight, really fresh and herby, likely thanks to their local, organic ingredients. On the other hand, the salmon cakes were just okay, not particularly memorable, same with the eggplant curry. Dessert was bread pudding, which was good if a little too sweet, though the caramel and heap of cream were nice touches. The cocktail menu was well-rounded, so if wine's not your thing, there's plenty to explore at the bar. All in all, The Bellflower has its charm, especially if you're after a casual spot with fresh, locally sourced food.

Pan fried lightly breaded trout with a duck egg and oven cooked stuffing slice

My friend Mike and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We had West Coast Oysters (creamy, delicate, paired well with fresh lemon slice and house made garlic shallot sauce on the side) the other appetizer was the goat cheese plate also very nice. Our mains pan fried trout, and yellow perch on a wonderful etouffe. I haven't had such a rich, deep dark roux in years. I have to admit the perfectly cooked trout was hands down the best of both of them. With a rotating menu it's hard to recommend food but you can count on great bread, oysters, and trout. I will be back because the chef pairs no, compliments the plated protein so delicately all flavors are present.

Had a great dinner with a friend here. The menu changes frequently so if you want to have an idea before hand you should check their website. I really enjoyed the duck gumbo which came with a perfectly crispy chicken cutlet and a side of vegetables. I tried one of their cocktails which was super tasty and not too sweet. Their bread pudding with hazelnuts was amazing and served with a scoop of ice cream. Even though they have a more limited dinner menu, my friend and I didn't have a single thing that wasn't delicious. The service was friendly and lowkey and it's a cute restaurant set up.

The amazing mussel.chowder! Seafood was so fresh w amazing bread!

Disappointing BBQ Experience We drove in from a few towns…read moreover, excited to try this spot because they're open late (until 11pm) and we were craving some solid BBQ. Unfortunately, it was a pretty disappointing visit overall. We ordered the DQ Pulled Pork and Brisket, and both came out cold with no flavor. The corn bread was okay, and the collard greens were surprisingly spicy -- not bad, just unexpected. We originally wanted the trifecta but they had already run out of ribs. So we went for two orders of burnt ends, expecting that rich, crispy texture. Instead, they were soft, smushy, and cold -- more like baby food than BBQ. Not good at all. The only standout dish was the corn cream cheese side -- warm, flavorful, and probably the best part of the meal. Also worth mentioning: the bartender was great -- super cool and clearly passionate. The place itself has a chill, loungey vibe, but it doesn't really feel like a true BBQ joint. Final thoughts: Burnt ends: Cold, soft, no bark -- total miss Pulled pork & brisket: Cold, bland Collard greens: Spicy, but decent Corn cream cheese: Delicious Vibe: Cool, but not very BBQ-ish Service: Bartender was the highlight Wish we could've had the food to match the energy. Hopefully they can tighten things up, especially on the basics.

We arrived approximately 15 minutes before our reservations and were seated immediately in the sparsely filled restaurant. Their air conditioning was refreshing after a long day in the sun. Their menu has a Louisiana flair, so I ordered the chicken-and-sausage gumbo and had their étouffée as my main course. The dishes are very similar in content, except that the étouffée included crawfish and shrimp and came with two pieces of bread. Both were very good, but we're a little light on the Cajun spices. I enjoyed a soft parade pint of beer from their vast craft beer and wine menu. Others in my party of five enjoyed their salad with a protein pizza and a cheeseburger. They have low-top, high-top, booth, and bar seating, along with outdoor patio seating. Full bar. The interior has a knotty wood finish with a somewhat industrial feel. The building used to hold Civil War barracks. Clean restrooms. Excellent service. Pricey. Parking can be difficult. They have posted 3% surcharge fee that references fast-rising expenses. They do not charge a credit card fee, so I guess it balances out. I would recommend.

Again, the restaurant was not busy and usually in most places I've gone once all the people that are dining arrives the server usually returns. This unfortunately did not happen. We sat for roughly 20 minutes drinking water and reviewing the menu. There were some other people that came into the establishment and sat at the table next to us.The server took drinks to the table by the door which those people were already there and then proceeded to take the order of the people that sat next to my table despite coming in after my friend and I. Needless to say my friend and I left. Because the environment started to feel a bit racist. We sat there extremely patiently not being addressed one time after I joined my friend just to be blatantly ignored for the server to attend to only the white patrons in the building.
