The corn bread was okay, and the collard greens were surprisingly spicy -- not bad, just unexpected. We originally wanted the trifecta but they had already run out of ribs. So we went for two orders of burnt ends, expecting that rich, crispy texture. Instead, they were soft, smushy, and cold -- more like baby food than BBQ. Not good at all. The only standout dish was the corn cream cheese side -- warm, flavorful, and probably the best part of the meal. Also worth mentioning: the bartender was great -- super cool and clearly passionate. The place itself has a chill, loungey vibe, but it doesn't really feel like a true BBQ joint. The Nightshade Martini was one of the most unique cocktails I've ever had. I enjoyed my pasta, though I had wanted to order a seafood dish and they were out of mussels. Definitely a bit of a bummer. I remember the beans in the smoked duck dish being especially good. My one complaint about this place is the menu seems to feel similar each time I'm there (months to years between visits). My friend profusely apologized and the bartender ignored her, not saying anything but continuing to sigh and roll her eyes. My friend, in an attempt to help, started to help pick up some of the large pieces of the glass. The bartender raised her voice saying "put it down". Mistakes happen. My friend hadn't had a single drink that night and was very apologetic but was treated very poorly by the staff for a simple mishap that happens in food service industries. I'd like to say that the cocktails were yummy but I didn't get to try the one I wanted to order. She never came to take my order. After my friend were finished with their drinks, she did come back once more. To take the menus out from in front of me and my husband to give them to different guests.
