I went here as a recommendation. The place sits in depot town on the corner across from the old train station. The parking was packed but I lucked up and got one on the street. There is parking across the street but it was pretty full on this day. This building was a great addition to a building that had been sitting abandon for a while. On entering the building we were seated close to the area where the band was being set up. The decor inside is great. Old brick masonry that adds to the atmosphere. The menu is mostly Bourbon with some vodka and tequila items but mostly bourbon. If you love bourbons than this is the place for you. Me...I dibble and dabble but not a true bourbon drinker. The place was lively. I ordered a Tequila drink that I really did not like. It was REALLY sour. I had them add a little something to sweeten it up a little. I ordered an appetizer but my friend wanted another. The waitress seemed rattled because I changed. I understood because they were lite on staff. She did change it and became less bothered once things settled down. I ordered the charcuterie board which came with a nice mix of meats, cheeses, crackers and even little chocolates. The band started up at 9 and we found out it was blues. It was great music. The people here are great and friendly. I struck up a few conversations. I soon found out that there was a connected restaurant and decided to check that out. If you are looking for a nice spot and good music on Fridays than this is the spot. I will be back.

    Nice variety of cocktails

I am a bourbon enthusiast and enjoy coming here to taste bottles I haven't tried yet or some I haven't been able to get my hands on. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable about the differences between the bourbon they have on hand. Love that Thompson & Co restaurant is connected in case you want something to eat. Watch their website to see what live music is planned for the evening. I really enjoy jazz with a bourbon neat or on the rocks. This place is such a welcome addition to Depot Town.

Mash offers a pretty solid bar-going experience in Ann Arbor. A group of us stopped by recently…read moreafter a night downtown, looking to find somewhere we could grab a drink and catch up. Mash fit the bill (pun intended hah) and did the job just fine. The drink menu is pretty expansive, both as far as liquor selection and cocktails as well. I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that they have a few standard mocktails that they're known for! I tried the raspberry mock mule, and I'm happy to report that it's a hit. Great flavor and super refreshing, plus it offers a fun drink even if you're not drinking. The bartender was super nice and helped break down all the options as well. The crowd at mash is more collegiate than I was expecting -- I thought a whiskey inspired bar would driver an older crowd, but the bar was packed with early 20-somethings on a Saturday night. If you show up past 9pm on the weekend, there's a good chance you won't find a seat and will have to wait 20 minutes to get through the line at the bar, but Mash serves as a great place to meet up with the crew. As we were leaving around 11, we spotted a huge line out the door trying to get in too; it seems like the collegiate clientele have really designated Mqsh as the place to be on a weekend night! Overall, I'd recommend Mash -- I'm looking forward to going back and trying out more of their menu!

There is a bar and seating in the from and back. The place is rustic and very cool for an evening out. During certain hours there is a band. This time was a rock/ pop band. They do not serve food after 8. I grabbed a drink and a table. The music was great and the drink was good. I will come back to visit in the future.

Disappointing BBQ Experience We drove in from a few towns…read moreover, excited to try this spot because they're open late (until 11pm) and we were craving some solid BBQ. Unfortunately, it was a pretty disappointing visit overall. We ordered the DQ Pulled Pork and Brisket, and both came out cold with no flavor. The corn bread was okay, and the collard greens were surprisingly spicy -- not bad, just unexpected. We originally wanted the trifecta but they had already run out of ribs. So we went for two orders of burnt ends, expecting that rich, crispy texture. Instead, they were soft, smushy, and cold -- more like baby food than BBQ. Not good at all. The only standout dish was the corn cream cheese side -- warm, flavorful, and probably the best part of the meal. Also worth mentioning: the bartender was great -- super cool and clearly passionate. The place itself has a chill, loungey vibe, but it doesn't really feel like a true BBQ joint. Final thoughts: Burnt ends: Cold, soft, no bark -- total miss Pulled pork & brisket: Cold, bland Collard greens: Spicy, but decent Corn cream cheese: Delicious Vibe: Cool, but not very BBQ-ish Service: Bartender was the highlight Wish we could've had the food to match the energy. Hopefully they can tighten things up, especially on the basics.
