    Beautiful bar

First! Free street parking? Yes, please. Second = beautiful bar. Luke was a great bartender & good conversationalist. The food (triple + Mac and cheese) was very good!!! Wish they had a few more side options.

My coworkers and I were looking for a bite to eat for lunch and came across Bitter Truth here on yelp. We were a bit confused when we first walked in because it looked like an empty bar, but soon found out they do serve lunch. A bit sketchy being the only ones in there for lunch. Turns out they recently started serving lunch, which explains why it was so empty. Our food was pretty good. The chicken was a bit dry. Note - if you by chance get the Cobb salad, it's a shareable item. Wish we were there in the evening so I could have enjoyed a cocktail! Would return if I was in the area. Loved the ambience!

barbecuterie board was definitely something i'd get again!

Came here for our anniversary; got the barbecuterie board along with entrees & a couple of drinks & WOW, the drinks paired with the food was top notch. The ambiance was amazing as well. Loved not feeling rushed by service while still feeling catered to. We'll definitely be back in the future.

I returned for a formal dinner, and was very happy. We were well taken care of by Aaron . We started with the ginger beer, which was sharp and sweet, with the perfect amount of fizz. We started with the cornbread and roasted Brussels. Best cornbread I've ever had; moist, sweet and warm with amazing butter. The Brussels were perfectly browned and balanced with a hint of vinegar and pepitas. We ordered the barbecuterie board as a main. I highly recommend it! It was an assortment of pure yummies. Everything from burnt ends, pork belly, pimento cheese, crackers, poached pear and smoked pineapple...I could have eaten 2! I will definitely return to try the Cornish hen, arugula salad and brisket sandwich.

I'm really hoping that whoever owns this establishment looks at these reviews. Now, the cocktails were so amazing. But our reservation was at 8. Tell me why we didn't get our soft pretzel appetizer until 8:55? Who wants to sit there for a full hour with an empty stomach? There was only about 5-6 occupied tables and then the bar. We were so hungry.. then our main course, which came out with the appetizer, was disappointing. The beans and fries were good but the brisket was incredibly dry, cold, and had the texture of a dog treat. I'll be back here for drinks but I'm really hoping the staff here can make some improvements before I even attempt to order food again.

My husband and I came for dinner this evening for our anniversary and wow! I think we found our new go-to date night location. The vibe is so comfortable yet elegant. The barbecue was amazing -- we had the duo, the barbecuterie platter, and the Brussels sprouts and would get them all again. The portions were generous and the prices crazy reasonable. I loved the amaretto sour so much I went back for seconds. On top of that, the service was excellent. The owner, Sean, is so knowledgeable and quality oriented, and a nice dude to boot. 10/10 -- a fantastic establishment

Tasty cheese selections and a generous amount of bread and crackers. Their cocktails are ON POINT. The Pep in Your Step blended the mezcal flavor wonderfully. The Nightshade Martini was one of the most unique cocktails I've ever had. I enjoyed my pasta, though I had wanted to order a seafood dish and they were out of mussels. Definitely a bit of a bummer. I remember the beans in the smoked duck dish being especially good. My one complaint about this place is the menu seems to feel similar each time I'm there (months to years between visits). Like there's always a similar fish dish and a curry. I guess I just wish there were different options because the menu is relatively small. Excited to return for another visit in the future and would like to try their lunch offering as well!

The salad was fresh and well dressed - simple but good. The second starter was sardine tin. Very very good. Not overly fishy and the garnishes served with it were perfect. For mains which are enough to share, one was the trout! Absolutely well seasoned and crispy. It is served whole and butterflied. We changed the side to the house vegetable. OMG these sautéed garden veggies were the best! The other main was a Japanese curry dish. Here is why the five starting dropped to a four. It was just ok. We would not order again. For dessert we had the bread pudding- another star for the night! To the owner, terrific staff. Everyone we engaged in, were positive and knowledgeable. They are a great team! Looking forward to a second visit!

I appreciated that they make their drinks with local spirits from Ann Arbor distillery. The drinks weren't the strongest but they had great flavor and were very refreshing and good! Our experience started out wonderful! We walked in after our friend's bridal shower to each get a cocktail. We did have a larger group and were told that the bill couldn't be split for parties over 6. Totally fine. No problem at all. The bartender asked what we were celebrating, and we told her about our blushing bride. She was very kind and told us she had a gift for us! To our surprise, she made all 10 of us shots. It was so so kind. She took most of the orders but when she got to me, I told her that I hadn't decided yet and would need a tad more time. She told me no problem. She made everyone's drinks. And brought them to the table. In the midst of her bringing the drinks. One of our friends had bent down to fix her shoe and on her way up, knocked a glass over and it broke. The bartenders mood, demeanor, service quality, and attitude shifted entirely. When the glass broke, she rolled her eyes and let out a big sigh. She made snide comments about "this big group". She darted glares in our direction every chance she got and continued to roll her eyes. My friend profusely apologized and the bartender ignored her, not saying anything but continuing to sigh and roll her eyes. My friend, in an attempt to help, started to help pick up some of the large pieces of the glass. The bartender raised her voice saying "put it down". Mistakes happen. My friend hadn't had a single drink that night and was very apologetic but was treated very poorly by the staff for a simple mishap that happens in food service industries. I'd like to say that the cocktails were yummy but I didn't get to try the one I wanted to order. She never came to take my order. After my friend were finished with their drinks, she did come back once more. To take the menus out from in front of me and my husband to give them to different guests. At first, it seemed wonderful, but it kind of ruined our night to come here. So be careful and don't make any mistakes in the presence of their classy staff.

What I do love about Ann Arbor is that they balance out the drunk haunts of young adults with great restaurants and high end bars for the people looking for more than a pitcher of cheap beer. Rabbit Hole is one of those spots. Down the same little alley way as Circ Bar, this underground bar is tucked away, stone hallways and open up and lead to different openings that provide seating, a dance floor and an amazingly stocked bar. If you like bourbon you will love this spot. Our bartender was fantastic, absolutely worked with me on working out a drink. I know I took a pic of an espresso martini, but my drink was made perfect also. Another nice surprise was that it wasn't some crazy price on the drink (I mean any crazier than other places and quite cheaper than around my home), especially for Ann Arbor. Walking away from the bar is a dance floor, and surrounding it are booths in a separate rooms and tables on a level up from the dance floor. There are also two hallways that lead to more booths and tables in different areas of the bar. As you can imagine this is a huge place. We came on a Friday and it wasn't very busy, but school is out and the weather had just broke so not surprising. I really enjoyed my time and the company I was with, and I would definitely go back.

Definitely a bit confusing to figure out where to go. I wish I had been given some direction. There is seating against the wall throughout the winding halls. There is a dance floor and a couple bars. I loved the look which would definitely bring me back if I had also loved the Cocktails. The drink I ordered was way too sweet. I was underwhelmed. Most of their drinks looked on the sweeter side even the bartender mentioned. For my second I just ordered a glass of bubbly. It was also on the sweeter side but an improvement. For the prices, I really don't want to have to get up, find my way back to the bar to order my drink, then walk back to my seat avoiding the people and trying not to spill.
