Coconut cold brew and the heatwave mocktails in front of the mocktail menu

My initial review stands but I got to try their mocktails with a friend and those were also fantastic. They were creative and definitely nice to have fun non-alcoholic options.

First off, if you're going solo, don't go on a Saturday. I expected it to be busy, but not packed like it was. Since when did college students start drinking such expensive alcohol. I could never afford drinks like this as a college student! The bartenders were great. Very nice and considering how busy they were, service was fast. The ambiance was I don't know... I want to say chill, but it was just too busy. If it weren't so packed, it would defenitely be a chill place to hang. My espresso martini was way too sweet. It was a nice drink to look at, but not the best. I had a blueberry gimlet and it was good, but there was a lot of lime so instant heartburn. It's a great place for whiskey and bourbon lovers! They have a lot of alcohol free options which is great. They also have quite a few beers and other drinks available if you aren't into liquor. Check it out, but maybe on a week night!

Old Fashioned

We ordered 2 Old Fashioneds and they were not old fashioned. I feel like this bartender doesn't know the difference between and Whisky Neat and an d Fashioned. There was no sweetener, no cherry, no bitters, and only a tiny orange peel. They appeared to need better training.

Ashley made me a special cucumber basil gimlet because I'm allergic to jalapeños, so I couldn't have the Boomslang and it was absolutely amazing! She totally nailed it!"

Nightcap is one of my favorite spots in AA! Always a great vibe and the setup is simple but amazing! Great spot to grab a quick late night drink and vibe out. Great staff as well. Nice low-key vibe.

Came here for a pre dinner drink and loved it. We went right when they opened and it slowly started to fill up with everyone in the know. Nice vibes and excellent service! I would definitely return when in town again.

This was a nice, laid back vibe. The place is not that big but a nice size. I don't think they serve food but they have specialty drinks. The service was pretty good as well. The servers were attentive, asking us if we wanted refills on drinks and water at good intervals. It's a nice spot to meet up with friends and have drinks before going for dinner or after dinner. I would go back and try more drinks.

The staff were so kind here! Not only were they chatty, but they were always checking in. Drinks are a little pricey, but not anything unexpected for a nice cocktail bar:) We ordered a pisco sour, garden party and love island (I think? I might have the name wrong on the last one) Indoors area was nice, bathrooms were clean, and we sat outdoors since it was such a beautiful night

The bar

Bailey was the best! The drinks were great and she was super nice! The bar was super clean and the service was quick.

Highly recommend happy hour! You can get drinks at $10-15 that are both strong and amazing. Had a good time! Cute place to sit down and just talk. It had a really good intimate atmosphere. It was candle lit with a a backlit bar area with a HUGE selection of alcohols. There was bar seating, more booth like sitting, and a couch like area in the back. Bartender also constantly checked in to make sure my company and I were doing well! I do think that although it fits a good amount of people, I can see it getting really crowded during peak bar hours!

Three cocktails are placed on a dark outdoor table, with a blurred background of people and chairs, suggesting a lively bar or restaurant setting.

Ohhh the delicious craft cocktails!!! We honestly loved EVERYTHING!!! Bee's Knees Blackberry Smash - bourbon, basil infused Cunard, blackberry jam, honey & lemon - this one goes down smooth!!! Espresso Martini Kiwi Caipirinha - light, refreshing & delicious! Rosemary Collins - rosemary infused gin, grapefruit, lemon, simple syrup Classic Old Fashioned The inside is absolutely gorgeous! Enjoy the patio while you still can. Highly recommend!!!

Rum runner and blueberry gimlet

I loved the ambiance, and the service was great! The bartenders/mixologists were very nice. The vibes are good for both sitting alone or chatting with someone.

I tried this place out last night, we were in Ann Arbor and wanting to go to The Last Word, which I've been to before, but it's actually closed on Sundays. I think Nightcap used to be another business but I forget which one. The vibe inside is really cool - you can choose to sit at the bar, sit at a bar top, or sit in these round-type areas - great for cuddling or to sit with friends. I was driving so I only had one drink, I had the blueberry gimlet which was very good. My boyfriend had the Alpine hot chocolate, with the torched marshmallow on top, which was interesting but not really for me. He also tried a scotch drink, which was also good. This is going to sound weird but I really liked the bathroom setup - it's gender-neutral, and had maybe four or six onesie stalls (more like closets, very private) and then a common area to wash your hands. I've only seen that once or twice and it's a neat concept. Nightcap is not cheap, about $13-15 per drink, but I definitely will be back at some point.

Ask the Community - Nightcap

Do they take reservations or do you have to go in person to add your name to the waitlist?

They don't take reservations. You wait in line if it's a busy night.

What's the typical age group?

Hi Sarah! We are lucky to welcome guests of all ages (over 21!) to our establishment. On any given night you can find a wide range of ages and a diverse crowd. Come check it out!

Do you free pour or clicker pour?

Hi Sheila! If by clicker pour you mean a Berg system or similar, we do not use those. Cocktail ingredients are generally measured with jiggers for accuracy and consistency.

What's the best time to get there on a Friday night to get a table or spot at the bar?

Hi Teresa! We are usually busiest between 9:30-12:30 on Fridays, so either side of that is a good bet. Usually if you're able to wait a few minutes things will open up quickly even during that time period. If you have a larger group you may want… Read more

I stopped in with a group on a weeknight recently, and even on a cold December night, we found that there was a small crowd inside, with groups of all sizes grabbing drinks and catching up. The inside of the establishment is a mix of super high ceilings and surpisingly limited seats. There are a fair amount of tables and bar seating as well, but just less than you'd expect by looking at it from the outside! There are a ton of TVs inside, so I could imagine this would be a good place to watch sports -- while we were there, they were playing a Lord of the Rings movie and we heard from the bartender that they often have movies of such high caliber playing! Now onto the important part - the cocktails! We tried a couple of cocktails from their menu and found that though they tasted good, they felt somewhat lacking in alcohol... either the bartender did an amazing job with the mix, or they were light pours. I will say I got an old fashioned after that, and the old fashioned was excellent! Handmade, not pre-mixed, and both the flavor and presentation were excellent. Overall, I'd say we had a pretty solid experience - I'll be back to try out some more drinks for sure (both cocktails and coffee!)

What I do love about Ann Arbor is that they balance out the drunk haunts of young adults with great restaurants and high end bars for the people looking for more than a pitcher of cheap beer. Rabbit Hole is one of those spots. Down the same little alley way as Circ Bar, this underground bar is tucked away, stone hallways and open up and lead to different openings that provide seating, a dance floor and an amazingly stocked bar. If you like bourbon you will love this spot. Our bartender was fantastic, absolutely worked with me on working out a drink. I know I took a pic of an espresso martini, but my drink was made perfect also. Another nice surprise was that it wasn't some crazy price on the drink (I mean any crazier than other places and quite cheaper than around my home), especially for Ann Arbor. Walking away from the bar is a dance floor, and surrounding it are booths in a separate rooms and tables on a level up from the dance floor. There are also two hallways that lead to more booths and tables in different areas of the bar. As you can imagine this is a huge place. I loved the look which would definitely bring me back if I had also loved the Cocktails. The drink I ordered was way too sweet. I was underwhelmed. Most of their drinks looked on the sweeter side even the bartender mentioned. For my second I just ordered a glass of bubbly. It was also on the sweeter side but an improvement. For the prices, I really don't want to have to get up, find my way back to the bar to order my drink, then walk back to my seat avoiding the people and trying not to spill.
