Powells pub is nothing fancy, just an honest pouring working persons, college, local bar with the best burgers in Ypsi. Daily specials Monday is Trivia, Tuesday is .50 wings, Wednesday karaoke @ 930. I recommend this place for a good time and a honest drink

Great service- decent gin and tonic! Just a fun friendly neighborhood dive bar! Didn't get any food unless you count the limes. I'm a fan.

Best dive bar in town. Fried chicken wings are suggested. Open late during Covid all being outside.

We were here in December so the patio wasn't open but looks roomy with many picnic tables. We opted to sit at the bar because that's usually where we get personal with brew pubs we love to discover. We always search local brews when traveling and 9/10 times the bartender will greet us, ask if we've been there, make recommendations or tell us a bit about the brewery style. Not here. I'm not sure the bartender ever even made eye contact and pretty sure he wanted to be there even less than he wanted us to be there. We did get a few beer samples by request, but no recommendations, he didn't ask what we thought and he made us feel very unwelcome right from the start. However, once that bartender was relieved the new bartender was chatty and friendly to the new customers. We had finished our beers and meal by that time and just needed to cash out. So I would say maybe it's just that one employee. We had the pretzels. Kudos to the pretzel bread-- it was delicious. Beer cheese was pretty good, as was the mustard. We asked about the menu and what he recommends (still trying to be friendly and get him to warm up). He recommended the special menu, so we ordered the Blackened Salmon sandwich. It was okay/average. Fries were cold. We ordered the Table Talk beer and I enjoyed it. I'd say that the beer was the best part of the whole experience. Overall I'm glad we tried it but we wouldn't go back. If the bartender had been more welcoming and interested in sharing a bit more about the concept, we would give it a second try when we head out there again. It's always good to try other food items and beers, but the vibe doesn't warrant a second try. I can understand if a place is busy, but we were there at 2pm on a Saturday and were two of four at the bar and he didn't look to be super busy with the restaurant as a whole. It's always so disappointing when service falls so short on something that could be such a unique experience. Three stars for the beer and pretzel.

Ordered the Fish cod sandwich with garlic fries. I was expecting garlic sauce but it was garlic powder seasoning. It was good though. My husband got the tofu banh mi (it was a tad too sour from too much pickles) and liked it. We ordered using the QR code but when trying to close the bill out, it had an error. So we had to pay at the counter.

There's really no other word I can think of but condescending when describing our waitress. She not only had attitude every time she came to our table, but always seemed bothered to come check on us. I moved my chair around the table to have a better view of the game and she rudely confronted me saying I needed to move it out of the aisle- "I'm going to tell you right now, you or that chair cannot be there." Her attitude was a recurring theme throughout the evening. We ordered the Nachos and Pizza Bites appetizers, both of which came out in a timely manner and were warm. The Nachos were my favorite, there were enough toppings for all the chips which I know isn't always the case when you order nachos. The Pizza Bites were okay, they didn't have a lot of flavor, even with the ranch and marinara sauce provided. I want to give them another chance but will definitely not be recommending this place to others. I'm disappointed because they are conveniently located off Packard, right off the main drag into downtown Ann Arbor, and far enough away to avoid gameday traffic. Surprisingly, the crowd was pretty sparse for a Lions Sunday, maybe because it was an 8:20 game. The building itself was clean, but I did notice the bathroom had a pile of stuff on the ground (cleaning supplies? extra toilet paper maybe?) and there were no speakers piped into the restroom like most bars, so there was no way to follow the game during a quick bathroom break. Lastly, I have to mention their jersey giveaways. Right before the game finished, the bartender announced that number x had won the jersey giveaway. Me and my party were shocked because we had not been notified of a giveaway at all and because there were so few people, we probably had a good chance to win. I wouldn't put it past our waitress that she didn't care to tell us, given her already rude demeanor, but that is extremely upsetting that she couldn't even have informed customers of what we later found out to be a weekly special on gamedays. Turns out, you have to buy a certain beer to be entered into the raffle. That being said, if you go on gameday, don't expect them to notify you or advertise the specials...take the initiative and ask yourself. Or, in all honesty, take your business somewhere else that has better food and will gladly let you participate in their specials.

I really want to love Fraser's…read more I dig dive bars. I'm into local neighborhood spots. I enjoy beer and burgers and deep fried things. While I'm not that into sports, I can appreciate a good sports bar. Perhaps that's the critical piece here. This seems to be a really fun place to watch a Michigan football game on one of the 10,000 TVs. Even a minor game where not much is at stake will have patrons cheering at every moderately good play. But Brandon A. suggested Fraser's has "great burgers, excellent beer selection, great drinks at fantastic prices and great service...as long as you abide by one simple rule: don't be an asshole." That hasn't been my experience. They have adequate burgers, but there are significantly tastier and cheaper burgers available in town. The beer list is fine, but I have yet to find anyplace in Ann Arbor with an actually excellent beer selection. Admittedly I'm spoiled by my favorite small tap room which is several states over, and I miss deeply. However, it did give me an appreciation for what it means for a place to have an excellent beer selection. My Euchre Pils was $7 and served in a plastic cup. Maybe I'm old, but that does not feel like a fantastic price. And the service? On my most recent visit it took a long time for anyone to come by with menus, and an even longer time before anyone returned to take a food order. I tried flagging down a server, but none were making eye contact. It appears the servers work in some kind of zone defense, as every part of our experience seemed to be handled by a different person. It was uncomfortable to the point where we felt unwelcome and considered leaving. But we had already been there so long we were committed to seeing it out. For the record, I'm not an asshole. I still tipped over 25% on the food. I can't say I'm a fan of the 4% fee to use a credit card, or the $.75 charge for a little side of mayo for the fries. All told, it was $50 for two burgers, one beer, and an onion ring up-charge. Not exactly a cheap meal. So far I've braved the burgers, I've sampled the sliders, and sunk my teeth into a sandwich. I've tried the fries and onion rings. Everything was just kinda okay, but nothing has risen to the level of "ooh that's good". What am I missing? I want to love the place. It's close to where I live, which makes it mighty convenient, but unless someone can offer me a compelling reason to give it another try, I'm unlikely to return.

This was my fourth visit to this bar, and in the past received AMAZING service from all of the bartenders, including the bartender that served us yesterday. My partner and I have come three times in the past for their excellent hamburgers and a couple of well made cocktails. No one, staff or customer, has ever had an issue with us while we ate and sipped out drinks, or said anything to us about being rowdy, as we were later accused of. We came here for good late night food. Last night, Saturday 6/7/25 my partner and I sat down at the bar. We asked if the kitchen was open, and were informed it was closed. When party next to us was served food, I inquired as to why they were served food, but we were not. I felt like it was a fair question. I was told it was because they called and ordered in advance. That sat fine with me, but when the bartender added that "they are friends of the owner, so i cooked their food myself." I was a little put off. I understand friends of the owner will recieve special treatment. That's how small buisnesses network, and is an excellent buisnenss move. However, telling your customers that someone else is being treated diferently is an umprofessional move, especially when it could have been left at a simple, "they called in an order." Our bartender never checkekd on us, never smiled, and went out of her way to ignore us. She looked me in the eye when i kindly asked "ma'am" and walked away. It was quiet at the bar, with only five or six parties, so there is no way she couldn't hear me. I told her i was not going to leave a tip because of the poor customer service we recieved. I did not name call, threaten, or curse. I was told that we stiffed the bartender a month ago, and to prove that she posted a copy of the credit card receipt on a facebook page from over a month ago showing we left a 10% tip? She went on to made inappropriate comments about her CUSTOMERS AND THEIR GENITALIA on a COMMUNITY facebook page which CHILDREN can view. Not just us, but other people who had poor service at this bar in the past. THE OWNER THREATENED US WITH PHYSICAL HARM ON THE SAME FACEBOOK! You can see that SEXUALLY VIOLENT RANT he posted in the picture. I was told the bartender almost didn't serve us, because it seems a 10% tip was inadequate a month ago. I will not be going back to Egan's again, and would advise everyone else who reads this to do the same. Please stay safe if he has threatened you too! THREATENING PEOPLE WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT IS NEVER THE ANSWER.
