I always love visiting the Last Word! Ambiance is moody, dark, and great for a date night. Drinks are always delicious and classic. There are some gems on the food menu (namely the fries) that are always fun to nibble on with drinks. Service is usually great but can be slow sometimes!

This place has been on our list for a while, and so glad we finally made it in. It had the quiet ambiance of a classy speakeasy, and Julia was friendly and attentive. The cocktails were so unique, it was difficult to choose - I went with The Osborn: Mammoth Old Dam Gin, fresh pineapple, fresh jalapeño, fresh lime, and ginger beer - one of the tastiest drinks I have ever had! The French Onion Poutine was so delicious, would definitely order that again. We really enjoyed the Chefs Board charcuterie, I think it might have been even better with some crusty bread in addition to the crostini (it was quite crunchy, some chewy crusty pieces would be a nice contrast). We will definitely be back to try some of the other menu items!

We had a hard time finding this place but we finally did. There is a nice selection of Cocktails as you would expect. I prefer drinks that aren't over so much ice. Unfortunately most are from what my server was saying. I ordered a few to try. They were decent but nothing that blew me away. I can't have aquafaba and was pleased they could sub Egg white. They are accommodating and service was great. There's a weird musty smell everywhere that my husband and I noticed that is pretty overwhelming. The atmosphere was nice. It was a pretty slow night. I'm not sure how it is when it's busier. We were able to talk, it wasn't too loud. I tried the Space Bird. It was delicious, but it was served over a ton of ice so it became watered down. I would not order it again. The Rosie... Was decent. Just like a champagne cocktail but not great. Third.. Persephone's Garden, it was my favorite. It had a nice flavor. Personally, I think there are better cocktail bars in the area but I like that they are open until 2am here. The kitchen closes before 12 so we weren't able to try anything

Super cute venue and space. Make sure to make reservations before you head in if possible~ we were not able to get seats right away but they have a standing full service bar area! As tables became available they would give us the option to sit at a table. Drinks are 14-20$ which is pretty standard and food options are pricier. The house fries have multiple flavors to choose from and we were not disappointed by the garlic Romano flavor of the week. Drinks: the space bird was deliciously refreshing with passion fruit notes and aftertaste of the gin. The founding father was sweeter and my bf loved it. Will def be back for round 2!

Thursday nights are the best*. Live jazz music and hopping crowd. The lights are very low so bring what you need to read a menu. The menu is surprisingly amazing though high prices for the portion. *if you are not a large party and are not ordering food It gets very crowded and I would not recommend having a party here larger than 4 people. Servers are too busy or do not WANT to keep up with a larger party, which we were in the corner. Guests wanted more drinks, order food, needed water, napkins, salt and pepper, etc. It was a serious hassle trying to get service/something every time we needed it. Even though the food menu is great, I wouldn't recommend a group try to eat here. Maybe two or even four people for dinner and order a bottle of wine. The cocktails are top notch but take awhile and the server doesn't like to keep coming around. They want to deliver the drinks and that's it. (when she's remember) At least that was the impression we got in our party. It was a birthday and trying to keep lively for the birthday girl, and not spend the whole time trying to get what we needed was very frustrating. They lost a lot of money on drinks we wanted to order and couldn't or opted to skip because of the poor service. If you are a small group, and would not drink more than one cocktail an hour, then this is your place. The jazz music is great.

This is a fun place for cocktails. Cool, dark vibe, though a bit on the loud side. Our group shared several cocktails and they were all good. My favorite was the Los Lobos, but you really can't go wrong with most of the menu. The small bites are pretty good. The charcuterie board was shockingly big and yummy, and the fries were well seasoned but a bit overcooked. Service on a Saturday night was on the slow side -- we waited a while for our server to come back, even while several of us had empty drinks. Something to keep in mind...

We've been wanting to come here for months and finally made it on a late Friday night for a drink. I wasn't expecting a Speakeasy...to be SO loud (with booming 90s music). We were able to sit at a table (maybe sitting at the bar would've made for a better experience??) which was fine and the service was great. I wish I could give a higher review but the drinks we got were just okay. We ordered an Old Fashioned (like their sister restaurant, Peridot's better) and a The Rosie. The food looks amazing so we may have to give TLW another try on a week day night (DJ Tuesdays & maybe Jazz on Thursdays??).

Returned for a new company retreat and this place still rocks! Came here a couple of times during this trip. Brought my lady with me and she loved it, as well. The cocktails were great. Kitchen had closed down by the time we arrived, so drinks it was! As always, the vibe is just right at The Last Word. There was a live DJ who was just kind of experimenting with music and it was pretty cool.

Ambiance: Dark, moody, with a speakeasy vibe. The entrance blends in with the surrounding exterior so it could be hard to miss. The music isn't too loud, which is nice. The tables are seated pretty close to each other so you could definitely hear another party's conversation. The scent is what threw me off at first. It smells like the the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland lol Service: Somewhat poor. I went with a party of 3 at 9pm on a Friday and the wait was ~45 min for a table. We stood at the standing bar and ordered drinks while we waited. However, we waited for about 15 min before someone took our order :-/ The drinks came out quickly though Spacebird ($14) // (5/5): This tastes SO good ! It's pretty sweet and fruity. I highly recommend!

This place is golden! Love the dimly lit lights, the wonderful service, the cute decor, and the presentation of the food and drinks. As basic as it might sound, highly recommend the fries and the various dipping sauces (YUM). My friends got a charcuterie board which was much bigger than expected and looked delicious. The staff was also knowledgable and easy to talk with about gluten free options which was super helpful - they even had gluten free crackers for me! A rarity!

I've been to The Last Word several times over the past couple of years. This time, came for a Monday late afternoon meetup with friends and had a great experience. Since it was only 5:30p, there were plenty of open tables and was seated quickly. Service was good - no complaints. I'm a big fan of their 50% off charcuterie boards on Mondays now. We ordered both their charcuterie board and cheese board. We also ordered two orders of their house fries and their mushroom ravioli. All the food came out fairly quickly and was very good. Just as a note, some of their food items can be pricier for the portion size, their bao buns among others. For drinks, we got the Tiki on the French Riviera, You're my boy blue, and Kentucky Sunshine which were all excellent. As a long time patron of The Last Word, I'm excited that they're doing specials on weekday nights (50% boards on Mon and they also do discounts for whiskey Wednesday I believe) and will definitely be coming back soon.

100% one of the secret gems in Ann Arbor. With a Tortured poet vibes, the bar is very nice to have good drinks and talk with friends. Liked all the staff!

I used to really like this spot but it seems to be extra crowded on the weekends now. I definitely recommend making a reservation. I do like that you can text if you're running late and they'll respond. That's a nice feature that I don't remember them having. We were seated promptly but the tables are quite close together where you don't really feel like you have a lot of space or privacy between the next table. You almost feel like you're in their conversation. It also took some time before a waitress came to take our order. I actually had to get up and ask the hostess if she could send over our waitress. Then, when I tried to order, they were out of two of the main things that I wanted, which was disappointing. The food that we did end up ordering was as good. I'm just not sure I'll be rushing back for another visit.

What I do love about Ann Arbor is that they balance out the drunk haunts of young adults with great restaurants and high end bars for the people looking for more than a pitcher of cheap beer. Rabbit Hole is one of those spots. Down the same little alley way as Circ Bar, this underground bar is tucked away, stone hallways and open up and lead to different openings that provide seating, a dance floor and an amazingly stocked bar. If you like bourbon you will love this spot. Our bartender was fantastic, absolutely worked with me on working out a drink. I know I took a pic of an espresso martini, but my drink was made perfect also. Another nice surprise was that it wasn't some crazy price on the drink (I mean any crazier than other places and quite cheaper than around my home), especially for Ann Arbor. Walking away from the bar is a dance floor, and surrounding it are booths in a separate rooms and tables on a level up from the dance floor. There are also two hallways that lead to more booths and tables in different areas of the bar. As you can imagine this is a huge place. Most of their drinks looked on the sweeter side even the bartender mentioned. For my second I just ordered a glass of bubbly. It was also on the sweeter side but an improvement. For the prices, I really don't want to have to get up, find my way back to the bar to order my drink, then walk back to my seat avoiding the people and trying not to spill.
