We started with the whipped feta, lobster bites, and the garlic bread. The whipped feta is an absolute must have. I will be dreaming about this until I have it again. They give you toasted ciabatta and cucumbers on the side to dip. Even with the cucumbers, this dip is absolutely amazing. Very refreshing. We went with the miso glazed Chilean Sea bass & the chicken parm. My husband really enjoyed his Sea bass and I absolutely loved my chicken Parmesan. It had the best spaghetti I've ever had in my entire life. The sauce had a tiny bit of heat that really added to the flavor. I loved my meal!

We went again on Saturday. WOW!…read more Started with a Martini for my dining partner and iced tea for me. Both were great. The waiter (Josh, a five-star waiter if ever there was one) really knows how to take care of his customers. He really knows the menu, can explain the dishes along with their components and what makes them unique and paces each course perfectly. He even asked if we were BOTH done before any dishes were removed from the table. Nothing looks worse than one person still eating while the rest of the table has no plates in front of them. We started with the roasted carrot salad. The carrots were perfectly roasted and chilled with and amazing tahini "paste" and radicchio, perfectly dressed with a lemon vinaigrette. OUTSTANDING!!! Seriously, this could have been my entire meal! The tahini paste is great, and I made it once while making a tahini dressing for roasted Brussels sprouts. Tahini naturally gets thick (paste like) when liquid is added. To make the paste, just stop adding liquid to it and stop mixing until it gets smooth again. Seriously, delicious. We both ordered the chicken schnitzel for our entrees. It comes with a really nice side salad consisting of mixed greens, dressed again with a very mild vinaigrette. My only quibble (and it's a really small one) is I would have liked the schnitzel to be a bit thinner. That said, it was perfectly cooked, not at all dry and the thickness is up to the creator of the dish. I don't think there's a "standard" for this (ha, ha - get it!). Great breading and very tasty. The dessert... Again, had to go with the sticky toffee pudding! If this is on the menu, there's no way I'm not going to order it. GOD, it's just a perfect ending to a great meal, well, that along with a pot of French Press coffee. All in all, the meal came to $108.00 excluding the tip. Expensive, but WORTH EVERY PENNY! I spent that much a few weeks ago (maybe more) on a really awful meal/experience at a different place. You'll have to read my old reviews to figure that one out! Anyway, this place treats their employees like they actually appreciate them. They took them on a cruise! Of all the restaurants I used to work at, the best thing I ever received was a shift meal or maybe a cold beer because I was still at the place cooking apps at 1:00 in the morning and the manager wanted to go home but felt bad because I couldn't leave. Thanks for the glass of Miller Lite draft, Mr. Chi-Chi's manager guy! Everyone in the place, from the servers to the hostesses, to the bus folks and the floor manager had smiles and a sense of graciousness and appreciation to each and every customer. Try to find that at any other restaurant in Toledo. The food is top notch, made with very unique recipes and techniques you're not going to find anywhere else. The dining room and restrooms (at least the men's) are clean. I never had to ask for a refill on my iced tea or water. New silverware was brought before each course was served. The old plates were removed from the table after the staff asked if it was OK to do so. Proper training in procedure and etiquette is obvious. Again, just a great meal in every way - 10 out of 10! Can't wait to go back.

I had tried to make a reservation for a party of two, but was told they only take reservations for larger groups. I was advised to arrive between 5pm-5:30pm on a Saturday evening to avoid a wait. We arrived at 5:30pm and were promptly seated. The ambiance here is very casual and comfortable. Our server promptly came by to take our drink orders and give us menus. We were also provided with complimentary biscuits that were very good, though not as warm as we would have liked. I ordered the honey-BBQ salmon with green beans and mac 'n cheese. My friend ordered a burger. Food was served in an appropriate amount of time. My salmon was perfectly grilled and seasoned. The green beans were plentiful and deliciously fresh. The macaroni and cheese was a bit disappointing but not bad. It came in a small container and all I could see initially was a cream sauce; once I put my fork in, I discovered the macaroni. We had a nice evening and service was casually excellent- which is the vibe of the restaurant. I would definitely return and recommend Shorty's True American Roadhouse!

I realized however that I didn't realize the challenges that elderly/disabled people face when dining out. I had taken my mom to her cardiologist and he suggested that I take my mom out for a late lunch- which I enthusiastically embraced. Upon arriving at My Way Bistro, we were able to park in a handicapped parking spot with a slope to the sidewalk, which was helpful to my mom, who relies upon a walker for mobility. Upon arriving inside the restaurant, we were given our choice of booths or tables. I never realized before that the tables and booths are very high for someone with limited ability to lift their arms. There were no other options that we saw and my mom did her best to settle into a booth that I found comfortable but the table was clearly too high for my mom. She was a great sport however and made do with the high tabled booth. My mom ordered a lamb gyro with fries and I ordered my usual Georgia Reuben with fries. My mom was very pleased with her gyro. It had lots of vegetables and meat, and she said the tszazicki (sp?) sauce was delicious. She also enjoyed the fries. I loved my Georgia Reuben because the cole slaw has a kick of black pepper and other ingredients that make it taste amazing. The homemade Thousand Island dressing was soooo delicious! I was a little disappointed in the fries because they were fried more than I prefer but were still good. Best of all, we both took home leftovers! Seriously, the plates couldn't adequately support the generous portions of food with heaping amounts of fries- and I say that as a good thing! The ambiance is that of an upscale sports bar, but was pretty quiet when we were there, even though screens were turned on. Our server was very responsive and efficient. Overall a great experience and I definitely recommend checking out My Way Bistro for amazing sandwiches (also offer salads that I haven't yet tried) that are levels up from typical bar food.

Found a parking spot not too far from the entry as the wind chill was in the single digits. MyWay was crowded, but we were seated right away. Needless to say, the noise volume was elevated. There was a large group of people on our side of the restaurant that seemed to know one another. They were rather boisterous and seemed to have consumed a fair amount of alcohol. Even witnessed a middle aged woman who could hardly walk out on her own. Prior to her bumper-pool walking style on the way out, as she was seated, she hoisted up her leg and placed her heel on the man's shoulder she was with. Mercy! Alcohol can cause strange events to happen. We both ordered the Blackened Salmon Quinoa Salad with the Walnut Raspberry Vinaigrette dressing. Salad cost $18. To me, the salmon portion was a bit smaller than anticipated, but had a good blacked spiced mix and done very nicely.

Go to their website and simply click away on you preferences. It's really easy and worth the expended effort. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We arrived and were quickly seated. Water was brought to the table, but without ice. I asked for ice and pretty quickly received some. I would suggest always serving ice water! Warm tap water isn't very palatable to most folks. First impressions of the dining room... So, it's a fairly small room without carpet. No tablecloths or individual table lamps (this doesn't bother me, but some may find this type of dining without such refinements unacceptable). I believe in keeping costs down. Take the savings and use them for buying better ingredients. Oh, a plate of bread with an absolutely delicious compound butter was served when the water was served (a little amuse-bouche). The butter was a lemon, garlic, basil combination that was outstanding!!! Everyone loved it. We split a bottle of wine (no cocktails, sorry). That was fine. They have a nice, simple wine and beer menu. We also ordered Appetizers. If you try any of the apps, try the bang bang shrimp! Better than anything you'll get at the Japanese Steakhouse. Seriously, next time I go back, I'll probably order this for my entrée along with the Caesar salad, and more of that delicious bread! Our other app was the calamari. It was served with marinara, and perfectly cooked. Both great appetizer choices. For our entrées... I ordered the halibut, and what an amazing job chef Marcel did with it! It was sauteed with some small diced vegetables and capers, served over polenta. Maybe a bit too done, but that's just me. I like my fish to be more on the rare side. I'm not faulting anyone for this because I never specified. It was still a great, creative and delicious meal. Two of my dining partners ordered the chicken paillard. Unfortunately, they said these were overcooked and too dry to really enjoy. They both looked delicious though. Another person ordered the salmon and said it was delicious. Our 5th person ordered the mixed green salad with duck. So this was something that really intrigued me as I love duck, and rarely see it. The salad greens/bean sprouts were very fresh, really nice. The duck was sliced very nicely, perfectly cooked, but cold. The temperature of the duck is intentional. I think it would be a better dish if served warm, but that's just me. It also lacked flavor. A nice Asian soy based dressing would have been perfect with this. Soy sauce, rice vinegar, scallions, garlic, ginger, sesame oil... Anyway, we ended with a shared piece of carrot cake and coffee. The carrot cake was out of this world, and it has to be good for you since it's made out of a vegetable. The coffee is french press and should have steeped longer, but we all love strong coffee. We'll definitely go back! Nice, hidden little spot with some great food and staff. Not too expensive, clean and an easy destination.

The bartender ignored us and one waitress was standing at the bar making time with a patron at the bar. When we were acknowledged by the one waitress who was working rather than flirting, she sat us down and brought us some water. We ordered drinks and an appetizer which were good. Dinner came promptly after our appetizer was done. The pork chop was moist and tasty but a little salty and the gravy tasted like Lipton onion soup mix. The lamb was super salty and when I asked for mint jelly to cut the salt, the waitress responded in a snarky way that they didn't have any. During the meal, the waitress didn't check in on us and didn't refill our water or iced tea. Perhaps this was the case due to the other waitress making time at the bar with a patron for most of the night so she was too busy carrying the load.

He looked very young, but he was obviously old enough to bring drinks. The food was mediocre and that's being generous, the drinks were nothing special, and the value just wasn't there. This was my birthday dinner and to be honest we were trying to go somewhere else, but they weren't open on a Monday. We came to J Alexander's, again not my first choice but a steak is a steak, right? Wrong. My sister-in-law ordered steak medallions, and they literally look like hamburgers. They were thin, slightly overcooked, underseasoned, and the overall cut just did not look good. My husband got a ribeye and again the sear on it was poor. The steak had a grayish cast to it. Not exactly appetizing! I ended up ordering the ribs, they come with a plum barbecue sauce and it was a generous portion but again they were nothing special. I got it with a baked potato. That was a bit dry and a bit hard. I think I brought home about 75% of my meal. We did get a very good appetizer. It was a raw tuna mince served on a crispy rice croquette. I got a gin and tonic that was not even really drinkable. They served it in a giant glass, the size you would get a soft drink in and it was almost entirely tonic. Way to ruin a nice shot of Hendricks. My sister-in-law had an espresso martini, and I don't think they use real espresso- but I could be wrong. M all four of us had something different and none of us had a good meal. If you are charging $50 for a stake medallion supper, the medallions should not look like hockey puck hamburgers. The atmosphere is beautiful, we waited a bit to be seated despite calling ahead of being told we didn't need a reservation or to be put on a waitlist. The bartender was slow and obviously inexperienced, but again both of these stars are really for our server. I got a free piece of carrot cake because it was my birthday meal and that was not good either. It came out and it tasted like it was still half frozen. I don't think I'll be back here anytime soon.
