We stopped in to each enjoy a light lunch and sat at the bar. We ordered the Coney, Cleveland, and All American Frank and shared a basket of fries. We were told to ask for the spicy ketchup for the fries and it was the perfect zesty pairing. The hotdogs are great quality but the buns are the best part. The food is very good for it being American based and the outdoor area is nice. The food itself tastes fresh. The inside of the restaurant is definitely very modern. It seems to cater more to a younger more energetic crowd. It almost feels like it's going for a west coast vibe. Not a sports bar by any means though. Way too small for a crowd to gather i side of and theres only like 2 tvs. Something I didn't like, was the lack of variety for non-alcoholic drinks, especially pop. They have specials all the time, with fun twists on tons of dishes; and their drink menu is incredible! I love the location of Swig being downtown in Perrysburg. They have a cool atmosphere and service was great and offer a big menu of things to choose from. I really wanted to like the food from this place, but this burger was mediocre. It came with a singular piece of raw onion on it, and there wasn't really any flavor. It said on menu something about grilled onions and got none of that taste or if they were even there. The garlic parm fries were soggy and no real flavor, some crispy ones were good. The meal just felt a bit too greasy for me. I would give this place a go, it's got a lot to choose from but if you like things crispy I would definitely ask for special attention to it! Stopped into this place over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised. It's on the smaller side so I was told to get there before 10 on the weekends because it does get crowded. We sat up at the bar and had a great time and found seating quick. I had the rotisserie chicken pita and it was so good with the sweet potato tots. I ordered one of their specials: New Kentucky hot brown sandwich. It's butter basted Turkey with a smoked Gouda and white cheddar mornay sauce, tomato, lettuce and two thick slices of bacon on top. An epic sandwich. Other than the mornay getting cold too fast, it was very flavorful and I couldn't even finish half of it. The onion rings were top notch as well. My husband loved his cheesesteak sandwich as well. Kudos and thank you to our waitress, too. I had considered ordering the shrimp and grits but am a total bust when it comes to handling spicy food, so she brought me a taste of the sauce to see if I could handle it. We were traveling to bowling green and this spot was recommended all over the internet and by locals. It certainly didn't disappoint. The wings were AMAZING! I went with the buffalo garlic and they were perfect blends of both. Others at the table also raved about their wings. Another person at our table got the pierogi poutine and that smelled fantastic (she said it was great). They charge extra for the celery and dressing - we didn't see that anywhere on the menu - but it was in our bill. As an FYI. They have a great beer selection which is available on the TV Screen, Chalk Board, or QR Code. The Menu is not large, but there is a good variety to choose from. My wife had the Cheese Burger, and I had the pulled pork special. "Lechon Lime Sandwich: Slow Cooked Pulled Pork, Cilantro Lime Crema, Pickled Carrots and Onions, Crumbled Cotija Cheese, and Fresh Cilantro Brioche." A quick google search lead me to Swig for a late night dinner after driving in from another state. Swig has a college town feel to it. Not sure if this is an actual college town, but the restaurant was full and lively. The menu has lots of unique offerings. That's what made me want to try it. I ordered the Duck Reuben with the Sweet Potato Tots. Both were so incredibly good that I would actually drive back to get it again if given the opportunity. I appreciate quirky so I ordered the chocolate covered bacon Sundae. It was large! I liked the sundae overall, but certainly couldn't finish it. I'd try a different dessert next time. I ordered a cocktail too. I can't remember the name. It was way too citrusy and tart for my taste. Always a risk for me when ordering non-traditional drinks so I do not fault Swig on that. The presentation was lackluster though. I hope to be able to come back and try more of the menu some day! read more

We decided to go out for dinner then take in some live music. Based on an internet search, Swig had live entertainment starting at 7:00 on Saturdays. We had dinner at another entity and made it to Swig between 7 and 7:30. Much to our disappointment and thanks to the big pharma money maker, Covid, Swig no longer has live music. We sat at the bar, had a drink and an appetizer. The draught beer selection is very good and I chose a stout - Twichy Bitch on Pumpkin Spice Coffee Beans = YUM! We shared the Hot Feta Dip w veggies - also very good. Bartender was quite friendly and attentive even though she was very tired because she has had to work many back to back double shifts due to people no longer wanting to work for a living. All-in-all, very good service, good food, good draught beer selection, and decent prices. Bartender suggested a venue in downtown Maumee for live music. Unfortunately there was a line out the door and I wasn't about to stand in the rain hoping to get in the door. Guessing live music was not meant to be for our evening; maybe next time. read more

It's a cool little place with a vast menu. The service was great, our server was very friendly Ana's on top of her game. I'm giving it 3 stars because the food was average if not sub par. We had three appetizers cheese Curds (burnt!!), feta dip that was the best thing any of us had and pretzels that were like the kind you get in the freezer section at the grocery store. I expected more from this place. Our entrees were less than stellar. We had a Ruben ( not the best in town by any stretch, one of us got whatever special sandwich of the day and said it was dry and bland. Plus his fries were over cooked. Then we had a chicken sandwich and the toppings on it were gross, like they've been sitting in the walk-in for days. The onion rings were some of the worst I've ever had, didn't even eat all of them or the chicken sandwich. Needless to say none of us finished our meals and did not get to go boxes it was that bad. Tonight's dinner was very nice here. The menu isn't real large, but what they have to offer is really good. I had the burger, no bun and fries. My husband had the special and he really enjoyed that. Sorry I can't remember that name. (I do remember that it had cilantro in it!) It's a little bit noisy here, but that's ok. It was a lazy Sunday night and the town needed a little bit of excitement. The drinks were good. Thank you to the Bartender for those. And thank you to our waitress for explaining the Dora cards. We enjoyed our evening. Hope we can come back through town one day. read more

Swig is one of my favorite spots in Perrysburg. The service is always great and servers are always so nice/happy. Those things really keep you coming back. I've tried many of the menu items and haven't had anything bad. I would highly recommend their weekly specials! There are usually three. My boyfriend and I always chose the two that sound the best to us and split them. They have a long beer list and the cocktails sound delicious. I definitely enjoyed my visit to this restaurant on the charming and quaint little downtown strip in Perrysburg. The small storefront sets unobtrusively on the main drag and one can miss it if one doesn't know where to look for it. The internal seating area is cozy and includes a bar. The patio houses room for several more patrons and provides a great atmosphere for dining. Unfortunately, it was full on our Sunday afternoon visit at 3:30 PM, suggesting they were having a very good day. But we were able to sit inside, which was quite fine. I was comfortable enough with their social distancing. I appreciated the way they handled it because their practices were more than adequate (table spacing, masks used by staff, efc.), but they did not make a big production out of it. Things almost felt like normal! I almost waxed sentimental for the days before COVID kicked us in the teeth. The service was very good as our waitress did a terrific job. The menu featured several tempting items, mostly pub food including burgers, sandwiches, sausages, salads, soups and wings. We started with their Fries accompanied by Chipotle Roasted Onion Ketchup. The fries were done well and were very tasty, although we both thought that the ketchup manifested a smaller-than-expected difference in taste compared to normal ketchup. I'd be happy for them to kick in more Chipotle. But we enjoyed them nonetheless. My wife opted for the Chunks, which were chicken pieces very lightly battered and prepared, by her choice, in teriyaki sauce. She said the lighter touch in the breading made a huge difference in how much she enjoyed them. I had a small bite and agreed they were very good. She also had the lemonade to drink, which was brought out in the pitcher in which it was made. It was clearly freshly squeezed and very refreshing on a hot day. I chose the Pork Belly Cuban Sandwich, which was comprised of cuban pork belly with mojo, ham, swiss cheese, pickles and ale mustard on a press grilled cuban roll. It was one of the best sandwiches I had eaten in a while. It was very tasty with a wonderful blend of flavors. Even the bread had a very satisfying taste. The prices were quite reasonable. The total bill with food, drinks, tax and tip was $34. At $17.00 per person, this was a very good value, especially considering my wife and I each took half of our meals away for lunch on another day. I would not hesitate to recommend a visit here. Swig has been around for years so this review is a culmination of visits over a vast span of time. Swig is one of those places that people with no concept of good food think is good food. At best it's sub par. If you're a bar hopper and like your alcohol this place is for you if you can get a seat amongst the Royal Perrysburg locals. Service is fine and food is edible just not actually impressive to someone who's ate outside the Midwest. The owner clearly has no concept of what properly prepared and cooked duck should taste like. The prices are fair for what you get which is typical midwest bar food with a slight spin and nice touch ups. I'd give it 3 stars but I've had bad service before, had bad food before, and been over charged before. Chances are you'll have a fine dining experience 2/3 times you go here and yes it's a local staple but is it special...not really. read more

A happy surprise in Perrysburg, OH. On the road for work again and I needed to stop for gas. A couple of construction induced wrong turns and I'm in the this little town. I got my gas and since it's lunchtime and this town looks so inviting I hit up Yelp for a place to eat. Swig was great. The menu states that the gyro meat is house made and our waitress confirmed that yes it is. I have to say that the gyro hit on all cylinders. It was spiced just right and had the right amount of char and chew. The delivery mechanism was a bit unorthodox as it was more tortilla than pita, but no complaints. This is probably my sixth time at Swig since I've moved to Toledo a few months ago and this place always hits the spot. They have great cocktails, extensive beer selection that rotates fairly frequently, and delicious food. We came around 3:30 and found seats at the bar for a late lunch. I ate the stuffed pepper soup (they were out of their Swig Soup) and the Picardy Chicken wrap while my boyfriend ate the Cactus chili and the Sheboygan Melt. I really enjoyed my soup and chicken wrap. The chicken wrap had onion straws in it which gave it a crunch that I didn't expect but loved. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the flavors were great! A happy place with great energy, a sweet waitress and solid food. The noise level ebbed and flowed depending on who was at the bar. Great beer selections but we opted for the Old Fashioned specials. Really tasty. Unfortunately, the nightly specials were sold out at 6:30 but the mussels sounded awesome :-(. We had the pretzels and cheese sauce (4 large pretzels - took 2 home). The food is very good, I can recommend the chili dogs. Served Toledo style: mustard, onion, and a beefy hot dog sauce without any beans. All atop a grilled bread to kick it up a notch above all the others. The top shelf quantity of the hot dogs themselves is such a welcome change also.
