We've eaten at American Table many times, and it has become one of our favorite local restaurants. The food is consistently delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices are more than reasonable, especially for the quality you receive. This is a family run business, and it shows. Everyone works incredibly hard to make sure customers have a great experience. A special shout out to the waitress and the wonderful lady who buses the tables. They are constantly on the move, hustling from the moment they arrive until closing, and they always do it with a smile. If you are looking for traditional breakfast offerings with generous portions and excellent service, this is the place. I had the farmer's skillet and my wife had the French toast platter. While both were very good, in retrospect, just one of them would have been enough for both of us. Our waitress was excellent, we were served quickly, she checked on things frequently, and offered good suggestions. Ambience was lacking and things looked a bit drab. It's called American Table. It serves traditional American food. Not (NEW) American. This is old people American food, and it's A-OK in my book. Soup was good and my fried seafood platter was not bad. I ordered it because, as I entered, I noticed several signs promoting their "all you can eat" friday fish fry. I figure if they are that confident with their seafood prep, it was worth a try. But heck, you can't really go wrong with deep fried seafood. The green beans were pretty boring but who am I kidding. I wasn't planning on eating them anyways. I only went because my Grandma is really into this place. Honestly, I'll probably never come back unless she wants to go again. Place is fantastic. They have a wonderful menu, and the finest Greek Omelette I have ever had. They don't just scramble eggs and shove stuff in like a taco. This is a huge omelette made perfectly. The soups are always fresh, the salads well constructed and fresh as well. read more

They do not understand that people can get VERY SICK when given allergens that they ask to be omited. In my case? It was gluten. I ordered a skillet and specifically asked that there be no bread, because I was gluten free. It came... with toast on top. When I mentioned it, she removed the toast, but left crumbs. I said that I could not eat it like that. She said, no problem and whisked it away. She returned it with the skillet ingredients on one plate and the eggs on the other, saying she had the eggs remade. UM... there was corned beef adhered to the eggs, as in.. she moved the eggs from the main plate to the second. Oh.. and the crumbs were still there. In addition, she did not return a fork and I had to go find one. In other words.. they don't care if you get sick and lie to you while doing it. That said, my husband enjoyed his omelet. whoop de do. American Table is a diner style eatery with kind service and large quantity plates. Hearty old school meals. I went in with no expectations and came out satisfied and very filled. There are plenty of tables to sit in, televisions (which were playing The Walking Dead), and a wide variety of dishes to chose from. From my best guess and the interesting choices of some menu options, the owners or at least part of, are Greek/Italian? Amongst the expected chicken strips,  fish & chips, burger, there are also kabobs and gyros amongst many Italian dishes. I ordered the chicken kabob with fries and rosemary chicken soup. While I was not fully satisfied with the kebab alone (being a single stick with maybe 5-6 chicken pieces), I dabbled in my fellow comrades' dishes as well.  The food certainly tastes good, not as if it had been frozen for days. It's not fancy cuisine, and some plates might come messy, but it has a homemade vibe and taste to it. It is as titled, traditional American meals. Old school, and hearty. I can say that it is filling though. Some of the other dishes I tried were the Lasagna and meatloaf. I was not too keen on the Lasagna, being a bit bland with no extra special taste. Meatloaf was a large portion and heavy on the gravy.  All in all I thought it was better than I had expected, but only for more of a homemade simple dish variety. I'm not comparing the two, but it seems like a more homey Bob Evans. It is very affordable too, which makes it even nice enticing.  One small complaint arises from the service being a bit slow. Perhaps it was from being a busy hour? We went around 13:00. There is also a All you can eat fish & chips on Fridays. I've been here a couple of times and it's always the same - the food is very bland and the portions are enormous. I'm not one of those people who think more is better either. Especially when the quality of the food is just meh. The service is the only thing this place has going for it. Our waitress kept my coffee cup full and she made numerous visits to give us status updates on our order. There are so many diners out there that have better food. Went here to have a quiet dinner with my mom. We arrived about 745p on a Friday. Our waitress was unattentive, never offered refilla and never bothered to ask if we needed anything. She even gave us our bill BEFORE our food arrived! The food was decent, although my eggs were quasi cold. Apart from that, the order was made correctly. My main complaint is the fact the staff decided to start cleaning and arranging for the next business day. Mind you they didn't close for another hour. Maybe it's just me, but I find it rude, nauseating and unhealthy for someone to vacuum around you while you're trying to eat. Also, while trying to enjoy our meal we also got to smell the various cleaning products they were using to clean with. I understand it was a Friday night and they wanted to go home, but they should remember people are trying to EAT. There were only two other tables being occupied while we were there and they were finishing up as our meals were brought out to us. Definitely won't be back. read more

A hometown diner with good food and service. Friday afternoon about 12:30 and the place was busy. Always a good sign. The wait staff was greeting regulars by name, seating guests promptly and taking and serving food quickly. A good menu with lots of variety. Greek food throughout the menu was a nice surprise and some Italian entrees as well. Although we were there for lunch--breakfast and dinner had lots of options too. I had the tuna melt on rye with fries. A healthy portion and tasty too. Sue was our waitress and on top of her game. We were in and out in 30 minutes--exactly what you want at lunch. We had been regulars at American Table In Michigan when we lived out that way, so on a trip to Costco, we decided to try the Perrysburg one. It was empty which I should have took as a bad sign. My husband had the ham and bean soup, but it was so salty he left most of it. He had country fried steak, which was also salty, and I had the shrimp stir fry. I couldn't eat mine either because it was swimming in sauce, a really strong taste, it just obliterated everything else. I took mine home only to throw it away. It cost us $33.00 and it certainly wasn't worth it, I think their prices are high as well. The only good thing was the waitress, she was very attentive and friendly. We went here when it was not busy at all but the place looked like it had been busy. We waited to be acknowledged and when someone finally came over to us we got a grunt and a head nod. It was as if we pissed them off by coming in and it wasn't even close to closing time. They put us in a filthy booth but to make a long story short, the servers were so rude we did something we have never done, we put our menu's down, got up and walked out. If you like cafeteria food or hospital food then you will love this place. It seems popular with the older generation, when we were there Lawrence Welk was playing on the TV's. Just not my style. I'm guessing most of the food is either frozen or canned or coming from a food service company like Gordon's. On a kinder note, it's a nice inexpensive place to take your older parents or grandparents to. I am a former restaurant owner so this pains me. I will not ever go back to this place again. had not eaten here in a couple of years. They close at 3pm and we arrived at 2:10. You would have thought that would be no problem, 50 minutes. 8 people in the restaurant, more staff then customers, but they only seemed interested in closing. Our food came out in a reasonable time except they forgot one of our family members. my wife was served vegetables that came out of a can, peas and corn? This combination was bad but the fact they were spoiled almost made wife puke was way worse. The vinegar smell was overwhelming. As I walked in, I felt like I was stepping back in time, with some old folks. I could recognize the vestiges of the Cafe Marie that used to occupy the space, and the TVs that I could see were tuned to M*A*S*H on TV Land and a home shopping channel. Although the host was friendly, she told me which seats at the table that my kids and I should have. What's up with that? My server reviewed the 7 specials from her notebook; she noted that they are special because they include dessert, which I think was limited to Jello or pudding. The table was adored with condiments galor. A sad bread basket with little thick pretzel sticks and thick-sliced white bread in plastic bags arrived, and the carbs never stopped coming. Most meals come with soup or salad, rice or potato, and the vegetable of the day, which was a disappointing bowl of pale green peas, like the ones that come from a can. When the cod arrived, I was concerned that it looked over-breaded from the outside, but when I cut into it, I found that it was perfect. My server described the fries as like the fries Wendy's used to have; she was right. My kids shared the chicken stir-fry, which was big and bland. When I had entered the restaurant, I had spotted the largest piece of bak lava I'd ever seen; it was horrible. I suspect one of the pies would have been a better choice. Although American Table is not my style, it's A-OK if you're looking for fried cod and carbs; a plain-looking sign in the doorway advertised a Friday-evening all-you-can-eat Cod and fries (or macaroni and cheese) for a little less than $10. read more

This place was average - not great or bad. They bring slices of bread in plastic bags to your table. They also bring hard bread sticks in plastic wraps. I had lasagna which was ok. The person I was with had a gyro which she liked. The soup was good... There is a display case with desserts near the front. Many looked like they were purchased at a store - pie, cake, etc. On a plus side they have a variety of jelly at the table to put on your bread...grape, strawberry, apple jelly, apple butter, and apple cinnamon jelly, orange marmalade. At American Table it's about quantity not quality. There m-f breakfast special is there staple. For $3.89 you get eggs,meat either potatoes,toast or pancakes. The pancakes are tasty. For some reason almost every time I order sausage links they come out looking crispy like they were put in the deep frier. The coffee leaves a lot to be desired. Some serious consideration needs to be put into changing vendors on the coffee. If your looking for value then this may be your place to try out. read more
