I've eaten at Manhattan's several times. They have great food, live music sometimes and the atmosphere is nice. I love going to a diverse establishment and enjoying good service so this is an excellent choice. It is so perfect for after work or a happy hour gathering with your friends! We stumbled upon this hidden gem and could not believe we have never been here before after years of living in Toledo. The restaurant felt like being transported back in time to New York with the theme. The staff were very friendly and were able to manage a very busy restaurant with multiple large groups. The live music was a nice touch. The food was extremely well done. Everything tasted fresh and was delicious. Honorable mention to the home made sourdough bread they used for the Turkey Reuben. this is the second time I have been here for a large reserved party. My sister-in-law's rehearsal dinner was held here and my My Other-other sister-in-law had her wedding reception meal here. Both times it was good. The food is consistent, the service is excellent. They were more than accommodating. Popped in for dinner Wednesday night with friend after our original plans fell through. Staff was amazing from start to finish. Amanda was our server and she was a superstar. Nice clean place with an overall friendly atmosphere. Had a duo performing that night, they weren't bad either. Friend and I both ordered the New York Strip an it's one of the better steaks I've had in the area. Such flavor and cooked to perfection. Has the house made cheesecake and it was just as delicious. Patio is nice but a table of 5 ruined it for everyone, loud, using the f bomb , almost yelling instead of talking. The waitress knew them but said nothing. My husband's burger was over cooked and was charged 1.00 extra for sliced dill pickles on his burger. I ask for the crispy onion straws on my sandwich and there were an about 4 small pieces of soggy onions on my sandwich which I was charged extra for which I expected but didn't get. So, this place can be a little inconsistent... We went here quite a bit for dinner a few years ago. Started off being an amazing place. Great steaks, fish and chips, homemade soups, etc. Little by little, things started to go wrong. A few times the hostess lost the reservation, the steak was cooked wrong or full of gristle, the soup of the day was literally the soup of ONE day (they had this amazing sausage and cabbage soup ONCE and never had it again). The other random Friday or Saturdays always had the same soups. I ordered a Boodles martini (very happy they had this gin as it's my favorite!) and was brought a Belvedere vodka martini. I know it was Belvedere because I asked her what she brought me. The waitress argued with me, saying that I specifically requested Belvedere vodka. Anyway, things went off the rails, so we stopped going. That changed about a month ago. Went there for lunch a few times and each meal was really nice. I had a Reuben on one visit and then I discovered the Kong smash burger... So, the smash burger is a generous portion of really nice ground beef. It's smashed on the flat top and cooked just right. It's well seasoned comes with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle. Condiments are of your choice, served on the side. Not sure if the fries are extra, but don't skip them. They're fresh cut fries that are always crispy. Really nice. Our waitstaff was always nice and attentive. Not too pushy, but just right. So, can't rate the place for dinner, since I've not been there for that meal in a couple of years. From memory, you can do better. That said, if the hostess/reservation issue was cleared up, that's a huge step in the right direction. If the argumentative waitress is gone, that's another step in the right direction. If the soup of the days are back to being really excellent, random soups and not soups on a scheduled rotation, another step. I'll have to report back about that. Can't go wrong for lunch! Oh, I haven't been for some time for Sunday Brunch, but I can attest that it's a great brunch! read more

I don't see why they're not closer to being #1 I had the opportunity to enjoy my first lunch date with a friend. At first I thought, the place wasn't going to have heavy foot traffic on a Sunday. I though wrong -- people kept coming in. I had their vegetable beef soup and a garden salad with balsamic dressing. My friend had their (not so nacho) macho nachos, lol. It wasn't so nacho because he's lactose intolerant but, love nachos. Therefore, he ordered cheeseless nachos and loved it. This was an impromptu work dinner for like 10 people on a Monday night, not easy to find a place that will take a large party on a Monday. This was a great choice! Service was fantastic, food even better and the drinks helped bring everything together. We ordered a few different things to share on the table, the poutine was rock-star, meatballs were delish, nachos were really good...everything actually! I did a roasted veggie salad which was way better than I was expecting. Cooked well, fresh vegetables, served with some nice sides..it was very good. My boyfriend and I planned a date night for here, expecting it was going to be pretty good. I will say...food was very good. Unfortunately the service was terrible. It took our server around 15 minutes to come to our table. And we didn't see him much after that. It did take forever for the food to come out, about 45 minutes to an hour. I'm sure it would've been faster if our server was better. We were there for awhile...not because we wanted to be. A nice venue with a large bar and moderate seating area. The ambiance is nice , kind of rustic bar like. The buffet starts at 10am and consists of both breakfast and lunch items. On offer on our visit , scrambled eggs, spinach quiche, bacon, biscuits and gravy, bacon and in house made kielbasa and sausage mix, the lunch side had , mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots, green beans, mac and cheese, a weekly entree, turkey and dressing, ham and roast beef, omelette and waffle station and a nice dessert selection. The good was good and tasty, portions are small , but don't hesitate to ask for more from server. The price is $25 and included a mimosa. I was really disappointed with my meal on Thursday , July 17th, I went to Manhattan's for dinner I ordered the NYC Cheese Steak Street vendor style, with caramelized onions, julienned sweet peppers, creamy Havarti, on home-made hoagie roll.. This is what I got... I was served the sandwich with NO julienned sweet peppers or Havarti. The cheese steak sandwich was the worse version of a philly cheese steak I've ever had, the meat was in small cubes and tough to chew, the waitress "claims" it was prime rib.. it sure didn't taste like it the meat was dry & hard to chew. some parts had fat which makes a horrible NYC Cheese Steak not the shaved tender lean roast beef I'm accustomed to, I will never order another meal that contains any beef from Manhattan's Pub n Cheer. read more

Controlled by staff which I think is a good idea. Service is still questionable. Its not hard to juat refill drinks or put drink orders in. So they only get bumped up one star. The food still isn't consistently hot. You might get something warm if you're lucky. Has a great selection of breakfast and lunch options however the lunch options don't taste very good. Flavorless mashed potatoes or macaroni and cheese. Chicken with not great amount of seasoning on it. I would just eat the breakfast items and get the free mimosa and call it a day. They do have a full bar open during brunch on Sundays but every time I call regardless how many days ahead they never seem to have any seating. Up to you read more

Had a delicious brunch last Sunday at this charming, long-standing neighborhood restaurant and bar. The older mixed-use neighborhood is being revitalized as an arts district. There is no menu for this Sunday tradition. You go down a line of many hot serving stations requesting helpings of what you'd like, and coming back for seconds and more if you wish. Among the offerings are scrambled eggs, roasted peppers, onions and asparagus (delicious), house-made sausage, kielbasa, Belgian waffles, prime rib, baked ham, made-to-order omelets, and a variety of fresh-made baked goods. A mimosa and bottomless coffee come with it, too. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the many patrons of all ages, including a big family birthday party, were having a good time.
