Food was great. Had one of their make it yourself pizzas which I will now make a staple when I travel to Toledo. Their cider on tap was nice and fruity just like I like it. Their cider service was honestly lack luster and I would have given them a three. My waitress didn't write down my order then couldn't remember it so she had to ask it again. She forgot to get my drink. Etc. just lots of little things. It's the only reason this place got four instead of five stars. Five star food three star service. I had looked at this place before and it just didnt seem impressive to me. Well do to circumstances we ended up here tonight. Located in downtown Toledo across from the ball park in the Dora. They have a small area to eat outside, a small dining and bar area and a back room with pinball. My expectations were kinda low if Im honest. Our waitress was cute as a button and did a good job. They were slammed while we were there. I ordered gin and elderflower cocktail, it was very good and only cost $8. A lot of breweries dont have liquor licenses so I wasn't expecting cocktails. We had the design your own pizza with bacon jam, pineapple and onions. It was delicious and just enough for two people. We saw several tables order the sausage sampler and it looked very good. We may try it on our next visit because we will definitely be back. Our only complaint is there was a hair on our pizza (which seriously seems to happen a lot to us) I just picked it off and it was VERY VERY loud in there. Four stars! read more

I traveled 100 plus miles to Toledo focused on eating here because one other time it was amazing on every level including food bev and service When I arrived I was greeted w a tiny sign taped to the door. The place is closed this month (October 2025) ... for "rebranding."(Which is a shame because it had the best pizza and craft/ artistic cocktails anywhere). No mention of this closure on website, google or yelp the day I visited. When I called there was no mention on the automated recording either. Total waste of a trip. When EXACTLY do you close?! Online says open until 12am Fri & Sat. So why would our party of 4 have the open light turned off & door locked as we are walking up to @ 10:55pm?? There were about 10 customers around the bar still being served inside. This is the reason for the 1 star rating! We enjoy coming to Wild Side & come here quite often. So we know what time they close. How is downtown Toledo supposed to continue to grow & thrive when some restaurants/bars don't stick to their open/close schedule?! read more

Stopped in before Walleye hockey game. Bartender took our drink order and gave us both menus. Served our drinks but never asked if we wanted to put in an order. He was more interested in talking with two women who were sitting near us. Finally came back to see if we wanted another drink as we finished what he served us but again, never asked if we wanted food as we had been looking at the menus. What a cool place! Whether you're coming with family or in date night, this place is a great spot. It's very close to the Mudhens stadium and they even have an arcade room! The food menu here is pretty legit! They have some great options for everyone and the pizzas.... I'll be ordering one of those next time. They're Detroit style and fully loaded with toppings! We saw quite a few come out of the kitchen and they looked amazing. We ordered the Havana dip to share and WOW - the sauce was absolutely delectable. I love that Detroit style pizza has been popping up everywhere. My husband and I split: - Cheese & Truffle Bread - The Italian - The Gatherer All of it was good. I can't pick a favorite between the pizzas because surprisingly, they tasted almost the same. This was way too much food. The pizzas are huge and the cheese bread is the size of another pizza. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. My friends and I ended up here as our first stop while being in downtown Toledo for the first time and it was the best experience. The drinks were great, the vibes were fun, and the staff was even better. Our waitress (Taylor) took the time to write out several bar/restaurant recommendations in the area for us and even checked in with us later in the night to make sure we were okay. She also set us up with a manager (Adam) to walk us to our next stop which made us feel so safe. Adam not only walked us to our next destination, but checked in on us throughout the night, introduced us to bartenders at other bars, and kept us safe and comfortable when strangers approached us. My wife and I stopped in here shortly after they opened in downtown Toledo. They happened to have a pizza special that night and we ordered a peperoni and mushroom pizza. I'd love to give a full review for this place, but I didn't get a chance to order. I get that staffing these days is a challenge, but this place being a free-for-all for seating is not cool. There's no line or queue, so people just cozy up way too close to each other at the front door and hope to keep track of who may be up for the next table. We managed to find a spot by the front window but were told by what seemed to be the only staff person working the floor that we should just go to the bar and order. We asked if that included food and we got a shrug. And surprise, there wasn't even a small spot to get up to the bar and order. So we left. If I hear things have changed, may give it a go again. On Saturday, May 25th, my family and I sat down at Wildside Brewing in Downtown Toledo. From the off the place was very cool. The ambiance was great, the selection fantastic, and the service was outstanding! Our server, Amanda, was absolutely fantastic! Super personable, very attentive to the table, and provided great recommendations from the menu! The food and beverages were delicious! I highly recommend the smoked pork wings with the stuffed peppers! The Supreme Detroit Style Pizza, was like a slice from home and had incredible flavor! Stopped here for dinner with my daughter before an event at the Huntington center. First time in downtown Toledo and all of it was an amazing experience. The food was amazing, the beer was fantastic, and the servers were top notch despite being pretty busy. Would definitely love to make it back here some day. The pros: The Italian pizza and cheese bread had a very good flavor. The cheese bread was crispy. The cons: I was a bit disappointed. I see the picture of the pizza they advertise... the Italian with a huge gobs of ricotta and there is barely any on the pizza. The pizza was not crispy enough on the bottom to be Detroit style pizza. In fact the pizza bent when you picked it up. Also the pizza didn't have enough sauce on it. Honestly not sure if it even had any on it. The cheese bread needed some sort of dipping sauce. If they did a few things to improve the pizza, it would be phenomenal! The bill: Not really any prices on the menu. 15.00 for the cheese bread. 15.00 for a detroit style pizza. 12.00 for the Italian. Great Detroit style pizza and good selection of beers. I like this place a lot better than when it was firefly. Half off pizza on Sunday. A couple complaints. One is ordering take out. Whenever you call to order you have a phone menu and you always get a message and never a human. To order online for take out it's Uber Eats which has a markup and doesn't offer the half off Sunday pizza. My big beef with them (and this is why they are getting a three instead of a four or five) is their policy on credit cards. They have just started charging three percent but don't have any signs posted like they are required to and you don't find out about this policy until you get the bill. I live in Sylvania and would routinely drive 30 minutes to visit Wild Side's original location in downtown Grand Rapids Ohio because I love their beer and Detroit style pizza. I am glad they have opened a second location in downtown Toledo. This location is in the heart of all of the action. It is across from Mud Hens Stadium, near the Huntington Center and located in Hensville where all the other bars are located. The food is awesome and the beer is even better than awesome. The owners Nick and Tim are always around to welcome guest and make sure everything runs smoothly. I highly recommend Wild Side Downtown! read more

Grand Rapids is a quaint town with amazing atmosphere. The small town has a little bit of everything to offer. One of our favorites is Wild Side brewery. The owner, and his staff, go out of their way to make everyone feel welcomed. Their unique beverage and food menu will surely please any booze/food enthusiast. The owner is very rude. I made an order and after a few minutes I asked to cancel it. He started to make a big deal out of it and threatened to call the police if I left. He lied to my face and said my food was ready after I offered to do takeout when in reality my food was never made. the drinks there taste very weird and their soda has a salt taste to it.
