Reviews seem good and happy customers. Just asked for small cauliflower crust, anchovies, jalapeños, marinara, feta cheese, pineapple, fresh basil. Have not seen anchovies available from most pizza stores. He says about 10 minutes ready. Labor issues sure hit hard here, by appearances. Apparently most is carry-out, so is normal. Clean and decent here. Anxiously waiting. WOW this is amazing and wonderful example of what I like for pizza, was a short wait, less than 10 minutes maybe.

The food here is fantastic. The owner works in the store. The dough is made with high gluten enriched wheat flour and red star dry active yeast instead of self rising flour. Everything is gourmet. It's a family owned business. The oil is Olive Oil instead of vegetable oil. They don't use "high fructose corn syrup" in any recipe but they do use 100% real clover honey (not "honey sauce" fake honey but REAL honey) in their dough. This company supports their family and anything you buy here proves that the American Dream is real and is happening. Other restaurants dazzle their customers with musical ambience and copycat paintings with dark lighting and fancy carpets to surround people with a theme that seems appealing and attractive but in this restaurant, instead of getting fake Italian ambiance or plastic statues of roman winged baby angels dispensing water from their mouths on the way in and out, it's a real American family business instead of fake Italy and rather than plastic statues surrounding, it's real people making food and taking orders. Instead of playing the "house" music, they hand you the remote and you can pick it yourself. It's a small business and the food is real and the recipes are designed with integrity and flavor rather than cheap thrills and high profits. Your contribution goes to hard work and dedication for a real American family. I am not related. Please go check it out and see what a "real" pizza family business looks like compared to those chain brand "better living through chemistry" pizza shops out there that only have one location per city but hundreds throughout the USA. Be proud of yourself for buying local "Made In The USA" wholesome foods that are honest, delicious, and appealing in flavor and quality for more reasons than just packaging and advertising. This company has real integrity and actually meets the standards people think they're getting elsewhere. Go check them out. (I'm not related and I am not paid to say any of this) Make sure to leave a review if you do go, please do keep the chain going but this "chain" is a list of happy customers leaving reviews and photos of their food instead of the other kind of "chain" that everyone already knows about. Thank you for reading this long long review but I can't think of a simple way to it. Have a great day.

I live about an hour and a half south of Toledo, and after seeing Dave Portnoy's One Bite review of…read moreStubborn Brothers Pizza, it's been on my list of places to try. I haven't had a truly great pizza in Ohio yet--there are more below-average spots than average ones--so I had high hopes for Stubborn Brothers. After finally trying it, I can say it's the best pizza I've had in Ohio so far. I still wouldn't call it "great," but it's a very solid pizza. The standout for me was definitely the crust--that part was great. However, I was disappointed with the sauce; it was pretty bland and didn't taste like it was made from high-quality tomatoes (such as San Marzano tomatoes). On half of the pizza I ordered pepperoni, and again, it didn't strike me as a high-quality pepperoni. In closing, I'm glad I tried Stubborn Brother and would rank it at the top of my Ohio pizza list so far, mainly because of the crust. Next up on my list is Charlie Anderson's place in downtown Cleveland, "Good Pizza" (2057 E 4th Street, Cleveland, OH). To date, the closest and best overall pizza I've found is still "Tomatoes Apizza" in the Detroit suburb of Farmington Hills (The original location: 29275 W 14 Mile Rd, Farmington Hills, MI).

There was an entrance at the front but it looked like the locals were going through the back door so we followed suit. When we got in there definitely smelled like deliciousness and client service was pleasant. We ordered the twice baked garlic rolls, as well as a customizable pizza where we added bacon, mushroom, and pepperoni. We ordered a Coke and a Toledo sunrise for drinks. The twice baked garlic rolls were left to be desired. The ends were crispy but the middle just felt soggy. I wish it was actually twice baked. However, the pizza came out with really nice flavour as well as nice bottom crust. Beverages were beverages. Overall sports bar vibes..

Everything is home made, never frozen dough, fresh sauce and ingredients. I've found this spot and I love that you can taste the quality in every bite. The cheese tastes fresh and not too overwhelming, the pizza itself isn't floppy or greasy. It's everything you could want from a local spot. Great pizza, great daily deals and a vast menu of delicious items to choose from. The only thing that would escalate the experience is a dine in experience. Skip going to the overpriced, overproduced pizza chains. Stop at a real local pizzeria with great flavor and real ingredients at a better price.

Somehow not right. I got sausage, onions, and peppers, and they were all very strange. The sausage is made in house, but the flavors aren't right for pizza sausage. The onions were too sweet, maybe? The green peppers were probably fine but somehow clashed with the onion and sausage. This may have been a cheese problem, because honestly whatever cheese they are using isn't very good. I feel bad leaving a negative review for a local small business, but with all the rave reviews I had high hopes, and this place was almost a total bust.

Went there Saturday with family and friends. What a great night!…read more Two of us had the lasagna and it was incredible. This isn't the usual lasagna. It's similar to what you know, but different! I bet it had 10 layers. The sauce was definitely made in-house. Not too sweet, not too bitter/sour. The one thing that's different with Calvino's is I couldn't detect or find any ricotta cheese, and I didn't miss it. It was a very generous portion, and it was perfectly cooked. No dry pasta or burned edges. I opted to add some Italian sausage which was the perfect addition. The other person who ordered this added sausage and ground beef and said that his was perfect. Either way, you can't go wrong! Another person at our table ordered the butternut squash ravioli. She was kind enough to let me try a piece and it was absolutely amazing! She ordered it with the olive oil and garlic sauce, which was the perfect pairing. This was as good or better than the butternut squash ravioli at Martini's in Columbus. The pasta had great texture (definitely fresh pasta) and the filling wasn't gluey in any way (this filling can have a tendency for textural issues). I'm definitely ordering it on my next visit! Someone ordered the chicken and pesto sandwich and raved about it. The last person at the table ordered the linguine with olive oil, garlic and mushrooms and again, it was perfection. All entrees were served with bread (ahhhh, those great little nuggets of fresh baked bread, drizzled in butter and sprinkled with cheese...) and a really nice, fresh salad. I would bet that the dressings are all homemade too! From past experience I can attest to the stromboli being outstanding (get the Godfather!)! The pizzas going by the table looked pretty amazing too, but I've not had their pizza. Appearances can be deceiving, but from the looks of the pies and quantity of people ordering them, they have to be pretty great too. Calvino's does not have a full bar, but they do have an extensive wine selection and some nice beers to choose from. If everyone at the table is ordering wine, go for the bottle as it will save you money. They have some really nice, inexpensive wines that pair very well with pasta - you won't break the bank on wine (but you could...)! All in all, it was a great night! The bill for the two of us came to $55.00 (that's including the tip)! The service was great, the food was outstanding - the best Italian meal I've had in Toledo, hands down.
