    Homemade Italian sausage, and pepperoni.
    Mike P.

Guy's Pizza & Dinners had closed down a while back due to a fire, but they're open again, and for that, I'm glad. When I'm not a steak and asparagus man, or a pastitsio and saganaki man, I'm a pizza and salad man. I eat a LOT of pizza and salad, and G'sP&D does a great job with both. This is easily the best pizza east of the river, and quite possibly, depending upon your taste, some of the best pizza in town. I'm not going to go so far as to call Guy a pizza artisan, but these pies are just about as hand crafted as is practical. The dough and sauce are made from scratch, and very well made they are. He doesn't make his own cheese, but the cheese blend is a menage a trois that includes both of the usual suspects...and munster...unique and delicious. Even some of the toppings, such as the Italian sausage (?!) and the meatballs are made in house. Considering this is a small, family East Toledo joint, this fact is impressive, and the taste is even more impressive. The pizza sauce and cheese are usually perfect, in both volume and flavor. Topping are copious, and all thicknesses of crust are finished to perfection in the stone lined oven. If you're avoiding carbs, try the Italian salad. While not as awesome as Jo Jo's on Monroe, or even Inky's, Guy puts together a very nice antipasto salad; it's probably the third best in town. It could use a little more meat, IMO. The homemade Italian dressing, like the pizza sauce has great flavor. Check out the one star review review...it's a trip! I'm not sure what the hell happed to Steve's wife's mother's pizza, but I'm giving Guy's Pizza & Dinners 4+1 stars.

Pepperoni olive extra cheese looks yummy too fresh to touch yet. Mmmm

I first discovered this cute cafe' 12 months ago and gave it 5 stars because the Turkey Reuben…read moresandwich was amazing. Today, I tried something else that I unfortunately didn't love, so I'm rating it 4 stars. Today, I didn't place my to-go order ahead of time and instead walked in and sat at the counter and sipped on a diet pepsi while I waited. I would describe the decor as cozy, rustic farmhouse chic, with lots of pictures of pigs. I had time to take pics while I waited for my order. I stopped in a bit later than the usual lunch rush, so there was literally no one dining in. A couple of people came in to pick up their carryout orders. The server was very friendly and down to earth. I ordered the pepper smoked turkey sandwich based on some reviews that raved about it. Rather than chips or fries, I opted to upgrade to a slaw for $2 more. I couldn't wait to get back to the office and try the food. Before digging in, I took photos because everything looked delicious. The meal was top notch quality. The turkey was thickly sliced with artisan lettuce and a garlic aioli sauce, plus cheddar cheese. The bread was a tasty sour dough. I ordered it without onions because I didn't want onion breath. Despite the high quality ingredients, it somehow wasn't amazing. It was very good but I didn't taste the pepper flavor on the turkey. The slaw was a nice mixture of kale, cabbage and carrots. For my taste, the cream sauce was on the sweet side, whereas my preference is less sweet and more tangy. Nevertheless, the ingredients were very fresh. As I reached the bottom of the bowl, however, there was a lot of runny cream sauce. Again, my personal preference is for less cream; someone else might love it. I know it seems like I am being overly picky, but I should mention that the total cost of my lunch (before tip) was $18.75 (sandwich, slaw and diet pepsi that was a fountain drink with mostly ice). Yes, everything is expensive these days, but I couldn't help being disappointed. I would absolutely return and order the Turkey Reuben in a heartbeat but wouldn't order the pepper turkey sandwich, slaw or soda. I'd also recommend dining in the adorable restaurant rather than eating at an office desk with plastic utensils!

We order from here semi-frequently. Everything is always yummy. This is the green chili burger…read more(without a bun) and the kale slaw. Two of my favorites! Pastrami hash is also amazing!

He sparked up some casual conversation with us, answered some questions we had, and made some great recommendations on drinks! He mentioned their two most popular brunch drinks were the Espresso Martini & Benton's Old Fashioned. We ordered both and WOW! Such a balanced cocktail, nice presentation, and great flavors. Their dinner menu was currently inspired by well known novels which previewing the menu had me wanting to come back. Such a fun spot with unique offerings you won't find at other spots in Toledo. Must try!
