I just scrolled through my camera roll and had a realization: I might be mildly obsessed with The Ledger. Every single time we're in town, we end up here. The cocktails are stunning, the food (whether brunch or dinner) is consistently memorable, and apparently every plate is so beautiful that I feel compelled to photograph it. Beyond the food, the service is always exceptional. The staff strikes that perfect balance of polished and warm, making every visit feel like a special occasion. And then there's the atmosphere. The abundant natural light, thoughtful seasonal décor, and the undeniable gravitas of a beautifully restored former bank create an experience that feels both elegant and welcoming. The Ledger is absolutely worthy of being a destination restaurant for celebrations and milestones. But the biggest compliment I can give it is this: we don't save it only for special occasions. Whenever we're nearby, we make a point to stop because the food, drinks, and experience are just that good and the seasonal specials never stay as long as you'd hope. Came for the two year anniversary and was not disappointed. The food was soft and flaky, succulent and blasted with flavor. The chickpeas firm and delicate. All ingredients balanced. We didn't order off the pre-set menu which was their two year anniversary menu but it was cool to see what the highlight dishes have been over the years. Host was polite and informative. This place is absolutely lights out, hands down the best restaurant in downtown Plymouth, in my opinion, with Pizza e Vino coming in a very close second. The ambiance, service, and food all exceeded our expectations. Our server, Jesse, has been there since opening day and was incredibly knowledgeable about every item on the menu. We have seed oil allergies, and both Jesse and the manager went above and beyond to accommodate us, which made the experience even more memorable. I finally made it back to The Ledger for Brunch which was excellent! Service was attentive (our waters were always full), our drinks were so fun and delicious. I got the Smoke and a Pancake (so fun, it literally comes with a mini pancake & bacon strip) & my friend got the Chef's Bloody (comes with a halloumi & meat stick) slightly spicy. Then I couldn't figure out what to order but finally settled on the Pastrami Hash (no cheese) and wow, I really liked it! There is some good crunch from the fried sauerkraut (I realized I got hash browns instead somehow...still tasted great), I would totally order this again which is funny since I'm not a huge meat/pastrami eater! I thought it was super unique as compared to the Hippie Hash which I was also considering. My other friend DID get the Hippie Hash & said it was good (but I don't know if she was blown away, I'll have to try it another time though). Lastly, my friend ordered the 360 Main Club which came with some thin, fry chips that she really liked. I think my hubby would like this sandwich so we will definitely have to come back. One of my favorite architectural flips I love is when old buildings get repurposed into restaurants, breweries, bakeries, etc. The Ledger does exactly that, taking over what used to be the Plymouth United Savings Bank. They have done a beautiful job converting the insides into a gorgeous dining experience that is very pleasing to be in. As usual I sat up at the bar, and the bartender was just fantastic. While I prefer to drink mixed drinks, I'm not usually a craft cocktail guy. Just straight bourbon or a Captain/Jack and coke and I'm usually happy. Old Fashioneds make their way often, but the bartender convinced me to try one of the craft ones and said if it didn't meet my expectations, she would by the drink for me. Well this was a fantastic drink. Not sweet, not bitter and full of flavor. Without a doubt I went for the burger because I'm OBSESSED with finding the best burger in the area. While I enjoyed this one, I don't think it will make the list. Foundationally, the meat itself has to be flavorful on its own, and with smashburgers this isn't usually a problem, I think the deep crisp does something for the flavors. Like I said, this was a good burger except for the salt factor. It was too heavy on the seasoning and between the bacon and egg and beef, I'm not sure what tipped it but it was too much. Other than that the whole experience was really good. I'm not going to be super critical of the salt. I would still recommend it for the overall experience. read more

Came here for brunch with a friend who was out of town and had a lovely time! I loved the interior - it's an old bank so you feel the old world part but it was so bright and modern. The menu had an array of shareable, egg dishes and salads. They offer a mimosa flight but we stuck either coffees. We ordered the yuzu beignets which were sweet, tart and delicious. I ordered the paneer shakshuka which was very unique and delicious and my friend ordered the breakfast sandwich. Shashuka - 4/5 (eggs were poached to perfection.) Cereal milk flight - 3/5 (one was rum, one was vodka, and one was whiskey. I wish the liquors were listed on the menu as I'd have asked for a modification or ordered something else. Whiskey is not a common martini liquor so it didn't dawn on me to ask - I am definitely not a fan of the brown liquors. The cinnamon toast crunch with rum was excellent. The fruity pebbles with vodka was exceptional - I want nothing but this every time in the future. The coco puffs was undrinkable. While the others had a subtle or undistinguishable alcohol taste and were "milk forward," this was all whisky, over powering and very light chocolate taste. After a glimpse of the photos on Instagram and a peek at the online menu, I was eager for my first visit to The Ledger. The restaurant resides in a stately former bank, sitting squarely on the corner of Penniman and Main, across from Kellogg Park. I loved the casual elegance of the dining area: the comfortable leather chairs, plush, bright fuschia banquette seating, and moss green wall covering. I loved the floor-ceiling windows that allowed in the summer light. The visit started on the wrong foot - the reservation was supposed to be indoors, not out, but this was eventually corrected. I was intrigued by the menu I saw on my feed: lamb pierogies, bone marrow, mushroom toast, and duck breast. I started with a Nojita - I love that more and more restaurants are offering mocktails. Along with that, I had the bone marrow, two bone canoes served with pillowy focaccia. I did not enjoy the marrow as much as I thought I would. For my main, I selected the ribeye, my favorite cut. It was cooked to a lovely medium rare and served with a creamy, flavorful zip sauce. I still think about it. But what also stood out was the wild mushroom side. It was meaty and savory and possibly the best part of the meal. I might have spoken too soon because I had not had dessert yet. The menu was strong. I would need to be stronger against the draw of the multi-layer carrot cake, Baked Alaska, and coconut mille crepe cake. I loved the variety and creativity. Ultimately, I went with the mille crepe cake served with passionfruit curd and coconut tuile. The restaurant also brought over the butter cake served in a large chocolate dome and revealed with hot crème anglaise. The strawberry jam and fresh berries complemented the bold chocolate flavors. Next time, I intend to get the Brussels sprouts, tuna tartare, and lobster roll. I also need to try out the Baked Alaska and carrot cake. My friend and I were disappointed by our experience at The Ledger. You pay high prices for the ambiance. It is a beautiful dining space. However, the food is not what you'd expect from an upscale restaurant. The food is mediocre for the price. The Papas Bravas didn't look appetizing and the taste lacked any wow factor. It was plain eggs with little seasoning with dark potatoes mixed in with lamb. My friend didn't like her Steak Sliders. The only thing we really enjoyed were the sidewinder fries served with the Steak Sliders. The Mini Beignets are just donuts with a lemon filling. I wouldn't call them beignets. They are nothing like the real stuff you'll get in New Orleans. The Ledger fails at fusion cuisine. It should stick to a traditional Western breakfast. For nearly $30 brunch dishes, they need to have something more that will differentiate itself from a typical Coney Island or local diner offering similar food for half the price. Service is mediocre as well. My friend asked our server to pack her leftovers and either the server didn't hear her or forgot because she never received her food back in a takeout box. But their version is so much better than I could make! What can I say? One of the best dining experiences we have had this year from start to finish. You have a great view of this beautiful restaurant before you walk in. Hard to believe this used to be a coney. We were fortunate to have Thomas as our waiter. He was very welcoming and did a fantastic job explaining the menu to the four of us and highlighting his favorites. He was attentive throughout and a delight to talk to without being intrusive on our evening. We started with the G.O.A.T salad for the table which everyone really enjoyed. Our four entrees consisted of Patagonian Toothfish (two of us), Mar Andino Steelhead Trout and the Cheeseburger. The Toothfish was outstanding...buttery, melt in your mouth and flavorful. It's not a large piece of fish but but with the chickpea & kale cassoulet it was adequate. My wife said the trout was superb. It almost looked more like salmon and Thomas explained why...that it's from icy cold streams rather than lake trout. She said the preparation with the matcha apple made for a very special dish. Our other friend raved about the cheeseburger minus the egg which she didn't want on the burger. We also had sides of the truffle fries and the roasted wild mushrooms. The fries were very good and the mushrooms (I ate most of them I think) were outstanding. We also shared the carrot cake for dessert. I am not a fan of carrot cake myself but I would actually order this myself! It was that good. The cream and the caramel they use really make it an extraordinary dessert. Side note....we never had to ask for more water as our glasses were filled throughout the meal. Also enjoyed talking to the manager who stopped by to make sure we were happy. First time here and will for sure be back. This place clearly strives to do everything right and very focused on the customer. Everything from the food to the service was immaculate! My husband and I came with our extended family a day before our wedding and it was absolutely perfect. Our table of 8 was sat in a private room that was behind a mirror. It was secluded and quiet and that was perfect. When we arrived, the restaurant knew it was a day before our wedding and gave us a small bottle of champagne and a candle, SO NICE! The food was fantastic. For an appetizer, we ordered the lobster roll and the brussel sprout chips. The lobster roll I could live without, it was mostly bread and not enough lobster. The brussel sprout chips were a little spicy but the flavor was incredible and enough to share! For my meal I ordered the filet and my husband ordered the lamb chops. We ended up swapping meals! I normally am not a huge lamb fan, but these were so tender and not gamey at all! The filet I ordered was thick and well cooked. I also got the truffle fries as a side and it was good but I think I would've preferred a different potato. Let me start off with wow! This is a place to go with you're celebrating a special occasion. My best friend was in town and we were celebrating a milestone birthday. I made reservations at The Ledger and the attention to detail started before my visit. I added details to my reservation through open table. A couple days prior, I received a message asking what my friend's name was. Once we got to the restaurant, our table was ready with a personalized gift for her! The hostess was so kind and sat us at our table. Our server, Dave, was amazing! He acknowledged my friend's birthday and started off with complimentary champagne. Amazing! Those special touches were so thought out and it didn't stop there. Our server was great. The flow of drinks and food was spot on. For appetizers, we ordered the beef tallow candle which is made out of beef tallow and butter and comes with focaccia bread. The presentation was great! It was getting our birthday celebration on at the start of dinner. Highly recommend. It's so yummy. Additionally, we got the lamb pierogis too. Loved those too. For dinner, we ordered The Debt, the scallops, and the bourbon carrots. My husband and I split The Debt, which is 12 ounces of Waygu beef from Japan, Texas, and Australia. OMG! My tastebuds were so happy. Cooked medium, the temperature on the Waygu was perfect. The flavor. Omg. So spoiled. The scallops and carrots were good too! The magic continues with the dessert selection. There are a few options but we went with the carrot cake. The carrot cake comes with smoked cinnamon. Nice presentation. It was a little sweet for my best friend and my husband, so I was there to save the day. I ate it all. Additionally, we got a piece of beautiful funfetti cake with a birthday chocolate and candle. Went there with a group of eight. Four of us ordered steaks. One steak was decent, the other three were terrible. Dry, overcooked, completely tasteless. Two of us had them remade. They were just as bad. The busboys work hard, but they literally disturbed us every 90 seconds trying to take plates that weren't empty. They couldn't just take stuff quietly, they had to interrupt conversations every time. It was maddening. But even worse than the steaks, is the God awful club music they blare. 4 of us went last night with a reservation. It was raining and as soon as we walked in the hostess offered to hang our coats and we could leave our umbrellas in the vestibule without worrying. They asked if we were celebrating anything and we were there for a friend's birthday so as soon as we sat, the hostess brought over a little gift bag with a candle in it for her and it was very cute. We were seated immediately and greeted by our server, Ryan. The atmosphere of the place was beautiful. Decorated beautifully, especially during the holiday season it looked breath taking in whites, blues and silver tones. They offer tap, still, or sparkling water to start. We were given plenty of time to look over the menu and our server, Ryan explained what each item on the menu was to those who weren't familiar and listed off a few of his favorites which was very helpful. He even asked us if there were any allergies he should take note of which was nice, thankfully none of us had any. We ended up starting with the Tuna Tartare and the Grilled Calamari. Both were very tasty, my favorite was the Tuna Tartare though. Not too long after, our main entrees were brought out along with the sharable sides: Short Rib, Hapuku, Filet, NY Strip, as well as Lobster Mac & Cheese with Truffle Fries. Everything was plated very nicely and tasted really great, with the steaks cooked to preference. I really liked the truffle fries and the mac & cheese although the mac & cheese tasted more like a white pasta dish. The zip sauce with the filet was fantastic and the risotto that came with both the calamari and the hapuku were perfect. We also ordered the Ledger Cake for dessert. It came with a creme anglaise that was poured over it at the table and tasted amazing! Since we were celebrating a birthday, they also brought out these two cute little cones filled with the same hazelnut mousse that was in the cake and was just as great. Overall, we liked everything on the menu and the experience being there brought us. I'd like to add that their bathrooms are pretty cool too and kept very clean. The aesthetic of this restaurant is absolutely amazing!! My cousin and I planned to come here for a drink at the bar and were astonished by how beautiful this restaurant was! I can't comment on the food, since this place was so busy that even the bar was reserved for the entire night, but from the vibe of the restaurant and friendliness of the staff, I'd definitely come back! read more

Ambiance is good, on the louder side. I thought the food was fine. Had an item that I thought was meh, and I explained why to our waitress, the kitchen said sorry, and sent something else to try. I respect that they actually took the comment and did something about it. Food is very good. read more

Our server, Carrie, was just like a figure skater, not only because her outfit had exactly the right number of sequins on it, but because she took something that is objectively difficult and made it look effortless. she knew all the details about every menu item backward and forward, to the extent that I would not have been surprised had she known the name of the cow that had provided the Wagyu beef for that evening. Carrie was more than attentive: she joined in the gentle ribbing I got from my dinner mates about the Diet Coke I was drinking, even bringing me - with sufficient ceremony - one of those little carafes that is typically used for wine filled with the soft drink. The food was fun: Brussels chips are always a hit, and I enjoyed my vegan pad Thai. My dessert was the Hazelnut Dream, and through one of those "you had to be there" moments that is my new nickname.
