Stopped by The Ledger for breakfast on the way home from Detroit. Absolutely excellent food! Our server, Jessica was very sweet. All their staff we encountered were very friendly. They prepared my husband, the classic eggs, bacon, and toast and he very much enjoyed it. I could not decide and our server, Jessica did a great job of explaining all of the dishes. She recommended the Hippie Hash with roasted brussels sprout leaves, sweet potatoes, beets, pickled onions and dried cranberries topped with eggs made your way. Outstanding! Can't wait to stop back by next time we're in town. We would love to try their dinner menu.
I just scrolled through my camera roll and had a realization: I might be mildly obsessed with The Ledger. Every single time we're in town, we end up here. The cocktails are stunning, the food (whether brunch or dinner) is consistently memorable, and apparently every plate is so beautiful that I feel compelled to photograph it. Beyond the food, the service is always exceptional. The staff strikes that perfect balance of polished and warm, making every visit feel like a special occasion. And then there's the atmosphere. The abundant natural light, thoughtful seasonal décor, and the undeniable gravitas of a beautifully restored former bank create an experience that feels both elegant and welcoming. The Ledger is absolutely worthy of being a destination restaurant for celebrations and milestones. But the biggest compliment I can give it is this: we don't save it only for special occasions. Whenever we're nearby, we make a point to stop because the food, drinks, and experience are just that good and the seasonal specials never stay as long as you'd hope. And of course, the speakeasy downstairs is always the perfect end to the night.
Came for the two year anniversary and was not disappointed. The food was soft and flaky, succulent and blasted with flavor. The chickpeas firm and delicate. All ingredients balanced. We didn't order off the pre-set menu which was their two year anniversary menu but it was cool to see what the highlight dishes have been over the years. Host was polite and informative. Server was attentive, friendly and professional. Bartender was creative!!!! Beautiful place. Comfortable to hang out as a couple or a large group. Still very expensive but worth it. So glad they're going strong in Plymouth!!
I finally made it back to The Ledger for Brunch which was excellent! Service was attentive (our waters were always full), our drinks were so fun and delicious. I got the Smoke and a Pancake (so fun, it literally comes with a mini pancake & bacon strip) & my friend got the Chef's Bloody (comes with a halloumi & meat stick) slightly spicy. Then I couldn't figure out what to order but finally settled on the Pastrami Hash (no cheese) and wow, I really liked it! There is some good crunch from the fried sauerkraut (I realized I got hash browns instead somehow...still tasted great), I would totally order this again which is funny since I'm not a huge meat/pastrami eater! I thought it was super unique as compared to the Hippie Hash which I was also considering. My other friend DID get the Hippie Hash & said it was good (but I don't know if she was blown away, I'll have to try it another time though). Lastly, my friend ordered the 360 Main Club which came with some thin, fry chips that she really liked. I think my hubby would like this sandwich so we will definitely have to come back. The ambiance is still beautiful as the high ceilings and windows really make it open and nice. It's an elevated atmosphere, perfect for a Mother Day brunch for sure.
One of my favorite architectural flips I love is when old buildings get repurposed into restaurants, breweries, bakeries, etc. The Ledger does exactly that, taking over what used to be the Plymouth United Savings Bank. They have done a beautiful job converting the insides into a gorgeous dining experience that is very pleasing to be in. As usual I sat up at the bar, and the bartender was just fantastic. While I prefer to drink mixed drinks, I'm not usually a craft cocktail guy. Just straight bourbon or a Captain/Jack and coke and I'm usually happy. Old Fashioneds make their way often, but the bartender convinced me to try one of the craft ones and said if it didn't meet my expectations, she would by the drink for me. Well this was a fantastic drink. Not sweet, not bitter and full of flavor. Without a doubt I went for the burger because I'm OBSESSED with finding the best burger in the area. While I enjoyed this one, I don't think it will make the list. Foundationally, the meat itself has to be flavorful on its own, and with smashburgers this isn't usually a problem, I think the deep crisp does something for the flavors. Like I said, this was a good burger except for the salt factor. It was too heavy on the seasoning and between the bacon and egg and beef, I'm not sure what tipped it but it was too much. Other than that the whole experience was really good. I'm not going to be super critical of the salt. I would still recommend it for the overall experience.
First and foremost, Tom was an excellent server! So personable, accommodating and great with the recommendations. 10 stars for Tom! A girlfriend and I went for brunch and it exceeded our expectations. Cinnamon roll - very good 4.5/5 (wasn't warmed all the way through and I was hoping for a bit more gooey, but delicious nonetheless.) Salmon bagel - very good 4.5/5 (great salmon portion!) Shashuka - 4/5 (eggs were poached to perfection.) Cereal milk flight - 3/5 (one was rum, one was vodka, and one was whiskey. I wish the liquors were listed on the menu as I'd have asked for a modification or ordered something else. Whiskey is not a common martini liquor so it didn't dawn on me to ask - I am definitely not a fan of the brown liquors. The cinnamon toast crunch with rum was excellent. The fruity pebbles with vodka was exceptional - I want nothing but this every time in the future. The coco puffs was undrinkable. While the others had a subtle or undistinguishable alcohol taste and were "milk forward," this was all whisky, over powering and very light chocolate taste. Also, while I loved the cereal being in there, I feel like the cereal to drink ratio was a bit off.) The environment is beautiful and the staff friendly. I'd definitely recommend for brunch!
Came here for a business dinner and had a wonderful time! The space is open and the service is very friendly and helped guide us through the menu with great recommendations. For starters, we shared the Brussels sprouts, bone marrow, and mushroom dishes. The Brussels sprouts were perfectly crisp and we enjoyed every bite! Each of these items was well enjoyed. For mains, we had pasta and shared the toothfish and trout - both were excellent. We rounded out with some suggested desserts that our table loved. The N/A beverages available were also very good! Would definitely recommend The Ledger. Save some extra time for parking in this area!
Came here for brunch with a friend who was out of town and had a lovely time! I loved the interior - it's an old bank so you feel the old world part but it was so bright and modern. The menu had an array of shareable, egg dishes and salads. They offer a mimosa flight but we stuck either coffees. We ordered the yuzu beignets which were sweet, tart and delicious. I ordered the paneer shakshuka which was very unique and delicious and my friend ordered the breakfast sandwich. We had a wonderful, attentive server and I loved this place so much that I'm coming back for dinner soon!
After a glimpse of the photos on Instagram and a peek at the online menu, I was eager for my first visit to The Ledger. The restaurant resides in a stately former bank, sitting squarely on the corner of Penniman and Main, across from Kellogg Park. I loved the casual elegance of the dining area: the comfortable leather chairs, plush, bright fuschia banquette seating, and moss green wall covering. I loved the floor-ceiling windows that allowed in the summer light. The visit started on the wrong foot - the reservation was supposed to be indoors, not out, but this was eventually corrected. I was intrigued by the menu I saw on my feed: lamb pierogies, bone marrow, mushroom toast, and duck breast. I started with a Nojita - I love that more and more restaurants are offering mocktails. Along with that, I had the bone marrow, two bone canoes served with pillowy focaccia. I did not enjoy the marrow as much as I thought I would. For my main, I selected the ribeye, my favorite cut. It was cooked to a lovely medium rare and served with a creamy, flavorful zip sauce. I still think about it. But what also stood out was the wild mushroom side. It was meaty and savory and possibly the best part of the meal. I might have spoken too soon because I had not had dessert yet. The menu was strong. I would need to be stronger against the draw of the multi-layer carrot cake, Baked Alaska, and coconut mille crepe cake. I loved the variety and creativity. Ultimately, I went with the mille crepe cake served with passionfruit curd and coconut tuile. The restaurant also brought over the butter cake served in a large chocolate dome and revealed with hot crème anglaise. The strawberry jam and fresh berries complemented the bold chocolate flavors. Next time, I intend to get the Brussels sprouts, tuna tartare, and lobster roll. I also need to try out the Baked Alaska and carrot cake. The manager indicated the latter was the most popular dessert on the menu. Service was stellar. The server was professional and friendly.
Want a date night? You've came to the right place! I'm so in love with this place and I've been the one time. Everything was pretty amazing. Our waiter was so cool as well. Even the young ladies hosting were fantastic. We went to celebrate my late birthday and the restaurant had thee cutest gift for me. That's a plus already. Food was pretty good in my opinion. We ordered 2 steaks (ribeye and ny strip) I thought the steak flavors were delicious. We got the truffle fries on the side which I loved. There were thicker cut potatoes so it worked well with the steak. The winning dish was the pork belly appetizer! I'd go back to have those over and over again. Drinks were amazing. They had a non-alcoholic mocktail menu and I knew this would be a good place. Everything drink I had was amazing and was well presented. Even the bathroom was nice. They did a wonderful job decorating this place. Will definitely be coming back.
My friend and I were disappointed by our experience at The Ledger. You pay high prices for the ambiance. It is a beautiful dining space. However, the food is not what you'd expect from an upscale restaurant. The food is mediocre for the price. The Papas Bravas didn't look appetizing and the taste lacked any wow factor. It was plain eggs with little seasoning with dark potatoes mixed in with lamb. My friend didn't like her Steak Sliders. The only thing we really enjoyed were the sidewinder fries served with the Steak Sliders. The Mini Beignets are just donuts with a lemon filling. I wouldn't call them beignets. They are nothing like the real stuff you'll get in New Orleans. The Ledger fails at fusion cuisine. It should stick to a traditional Western breakfast. For nearly $30 brunch dishes, they need to have something more that will differentiate itself from a typical Coney Island or local diner offering similar food for half the price. Service is mediocre as well. My friend asked our server to pack her leftovers and either the server didn't hear her or forgot because she never received her food back in a takeout box. The server didn't even ask me if I wanted my leftovers to go. We decided the food wasn't worth making it an issue.
Decided last minute to check out Ledger for brunch, and it was phenomenal. The décor, drinks, food, and service were all top tier. I ended up staying until closing and never once felt rushed. Our waitress was incredibly attentive and kind, which made the experience even better. I'll definitely be back to try the espresso flight!
A random stop in Plymouth turned into a lovely afternoon brunch. They did not hold back in decor, accents, or embellishments. This place was beautiful. The gingerbread waffles were one of the best waffles I've ever had. The Okonomiyaki was better then we thought it would be. I had the harvest bowl and added steak it needed some type of sauce to bring it all together.
Food: after being there probably about 10 times, I will say the menu changes, and some hit and miss, but overall, you can find something suit to your palate. I like the moderate and healthier portion of the plate. I found new modern American restaurants are gradually trending to a smaller sized dishes. Many desserts here seem to be instagram worthy and the cocktail here can be eye candies sometimes. Ambiance: Ambiance is one of the reasons make up to the 5 star rating of this place. This is one of the restaurants in Plymouth has the decor embracing modern upscale feel which is my cup of tea. The tree in the middle of room gives you an outdoor ambiance while enjoying the inside comfort. Service: Nothing stand out but the service is mostly prompt and well staffed. Final verdict: I've come here for three birthday celebrations, and previously they gave birthday person a free cake, a free Polaroid phot as souvenir and even a wine opening gift sets one time, but this year I got nothing! That's a disappointing downgrade, but overall, still a great spot to visit in downtown Plymouth for a meal, a drink or just a sweet! read more

The restaurant is in the 1st floor of an old bank building. Small dining room but we loved the atmosphere and the bar area. The techno background music wasn't our taste but it wasn't loud and kind of fit the modern clean ambiance, so fine. Prices for drinks seemed reasonable but some menu items seemed a bit overpriced. Service was mixed. The hostess was friendly and made us feel welcome. A good first impression. The waiter responsible for keeping the water filled was excellent. Our primary server was ok and let us set the pace for the most part. However she put dessert menus in front of us halfway through our entrees. We felt it was inappropriate subtle pressure. We skipped dessert as a result. Interesting cocktails and nice wine by the glass list. We started with the Candle, beef tallow formed into a small candle with bread ($12); basically artistic bread and butter as our server called it. It was ok but doubt we'd order it again. On the other hand the Tuna Tartare ($26) was excellent and I highly recommend it. We both had the 16oz prime ribeye ($72). It wasn't the best looking ribeye and could have been trimmed better. It was cooked to perfection and had a nice flavor. Our shareable sides, truffle fries ($16) with two delicious homemade sauces and broccoli ($18) were great! She's attentive and on it, the rest of the staff made sure our dishes were cleared, drinks were topped off. Ordered Brussel chips, fat-sar salad, Lobster Mac N Cheese, truffle fries, G.O.A.T. 22, trumpet scallop pad Thai. $170.66 The Brussel chips, lobster Mac and the trumpet scallops (mushrooms) Pad Thai noodles were good at least. The G.O.A.T., Fat-sar and truffles were all underwhelming for me. Their tomahawk steaks are huge, table next to us got two cut up table side. You can smell the smoke flavor from the old fashioned drinks as soon as you walk in the door. read more

Okay Plymouth - I see you! We came to The Ledger for an impromptu date night and sat at the fairly spacious bar. I was really impressed by the variety, food and cocktails. Who knew this gem of a spot existed? We pivoted from our usual AA haunts like Echelon, Boro. The Ledger is up there with them! We had the following and opted to go more seafood than red meat/steak - all tasted very fresh and flavors were great! *Grilled Calamari (Spinach Artichoke and Red Pepper Risotto * Rosemary Pesto * Grilled Lemon * Micro Fine Herbs) - perfectly cooked risotto and was a really tasty dish! The calamari was nicely cut up into grilled strips too. *Beef Tallow Candle (Served with Warm Herb Focaccia) - YES. I love when there's a viral trend that I don't have to make at home by myself. But their version is so much better than I could make! As the tallow and butter melted, it was mingling with this lovely herb and salt mixture. *HALIBUT (Brown Butter * Lemon * Miso Ancient Grains * Blueberries * Pickled Fennel * Spinach) - What a stand out summer dish!! The halibut wasn't fishy at all and i loved the depth / umami that the miso added. Also the classic combo of blueberries and lemon on a savory seafood dish like this? Yum! *FENNEL CREAM PASTA (Crab * Bay Scallops * Artichokes * Asparagus * Radish * Piquillo Peppers * Chili Crunch Gremolata * Mixed Greens) - Delicious! So much crab and good seafood. Really enjoyed the al dente bucatini served with this! *SAFETY DEPOSIT (Warming Spices * Carrot Purée * Pineapple * Toasted Coconut * Rum Caramel) - This is their version of the carrot cake! It's a little on the sweet side but DELICIOUS - probably the best carrot cake I've ever had?? No raisins. No nuts. And the smoked cloche presentation is top notch. Also, if you drink - the cocktails are pretty stellar! Make sure you save room for dessert! read more

When you dine here, you can't help but feel really special and worthy. There are lots of discoveries here which I'm not going to give away. You simply must experience The Ledger yourself to find out. Be sure to let them know if you are celebrating something big because they will help you commemorate it with class. The food is a work of art and my favorite dessert is the carrot cake. I can't stop thinking about it! This is a special place, the best feeling place (ambiance) you'll find in Plymouth! read more

We got about everything on the menu, so I'd thought I'd share. 8/10 - Beef tallow candle. Super yummy, candle does burn out though, but they'll take it to the back to melt down the remaining beef tallow. 7/10 - new wagyu appetizer. Asian-inspired wagyu (4 oz). Lots of flavor. Fairly fatty. 8/10 - fat-sar salad. Simple, but really good. 9/10 - honey glazed carrots. Goat cheese... (chef's kiss) 10/10 - burger. Just amazing. 9/10 - ember fire. A must. The risotto is a 1000/10. 10/10 - tequila holiday drink. This drink was YUMMY. very festive apple-y flavor. read more

Sarah, our server was excellent. We had a reservation on a Sunday at noon for 8, which changed to 7. Two of us met early for a cocktail. I had Rose Sunrise. Amazing!! I later had a refreshing pineapple mimosa. My brunch order was sharing 2 items, burnt ends hash and Yokitomiyaki. Sublime!! read more

came here for Saturday brunch with my mom, and she loved it. I recommend the hippie hash--it's very tasty and the perfect mix of sweet and savory. generally, I'd say the food here isn't too sweet or too salty. service is outstanding! shoutout to our server Jessie; she was extremely kind and welcoming, as well as attentive. I ordered an iced Americano, and when I asked for it to be remade, she went above and beyond with it. the décor is really nice (music isn't to my taste, though--it's like club music?), and the furniture is tasteful. Tl;DR: ritzy spot in downtown Plymouth with excellent service and great food. I'd come back again. read more

Elegance. Luxury. Fun! Came here on a Sunday morning at 10am for a birthday brunch. Made a reservation and we're glad we did! While we were just about the first to arrive, within 30 mins, the place got packed. We were greeted my the hostess who also asked if I'd like to check my coat. It has been a long time since I was asked that question and I immediately said YES! Brunch was delicious and the birthday girl got a nice girl + a birthday dessert. Highly recommend ANYTHING on the menu. Mimosa and espresso martinis were delicious. Wish the martini was in a bigger glass LOL. Parking: lots of spots in the parking structure behind the building Attire: I wore a fun Galentine's sweater, which was a big hit with the servers. There was a mix of Sunday Best, business casual, and nice sweaters + slacks due to the weather. You may feel a tad out of place if you were sweats Prices: expect to pay a bit more than your average downtown Plymouth restaurant. But you'll know why when you set foot in this place. Our first time eating at The Ledger for my 62 birthday. I wasn't aware they had a tasting menu and what a great experience! The 5 dishes each were very different and delicious. We also got the wine pairing to complement each dish. Staff were wonderful and friendly. Looking forward to going back for the brunch. read more

What can I say? One of the best dining experiences we have had this year from start to finish. You have a great view of this beautiful restaurant before you walk in. Hard to believe this used to be a coney. We were fortunate to have Thomas as our waiter. He was very welcoming and did a fantastic job explaining the menu to the four of us and highlighting his favorites. He was attentive throughout and a delight to talk to without being intrusive on our evening. We started with the G.O.A.T salad for the table which everyone really enjoyed. Our four entrees consisted of Patagonian Toothfish (two of us), Mar Andino Steelhead Trout and the Cheeseburger. The Toothfish was outstanding...buttery, melt in your mouth and flavorful. It's not a large piece of fish but but with the chickpea & kale cassoulet it was adequate. My wife said the trout was superb. It almost looked more like salmon and Thomas explained why...that it's from icy cold streams rather than lake trout. She said the preparation with the matcha apple made for a very special dish. Our other friend raved about the cheeseburger minus the egg which she didn't want on the burger. We also had sides of the truffle fries and the roasted wild mushrooms. The fries were very good and the mushrooms (I ate most of them I think) were outstanding. We also shared the carrot cake for dessert. I am not a fan of carrot cake myself but I would actually order this myself! It was that good. The cream and the caramel they use really make it an extraordinary dessert. Side note....we never had to ask for more water as our glasses were filled throughout the meal. Also enjoyed talking to the manager who stopped by to make sure we were happy. First time here and will for sure be back. This place clearly strives to do everything right and very focused on the customer. Make sure you make a reservation as I saw them turning people away without one. It was still pretty much full at 9:30 when we left. Not an inexpensive spot but worth every penny. read more

Everything from the food to the service was immaculate! My husband and I came with our extended family a day before our wedding and it was absolutely perfect. Our table of 8 was sat in a private room that was behind a mirror. It was secluded and quiet and that was perfect. When we arrived, the restaurant knew it was a day before our wedding and gave us a small bottle of champagne and a candle, SO NICE! The food was fantastic. For an appetizer, we ordered the lobster roll and the brussel sprout chips. The lobster roll I could live without, it was mostly bread and not enough lobster. The brussel sprout chips were a little spicy but the flavor was incredible and enough to share! For my meal I ordered the filet and my husband ordered the lamb chops. We ended up swapping meals! I normally am not a huge lamb fan, but these were so tender and not gamey at all! The filet I ordered was thick and well cooked. I also got the truffle fries as a side and it was good but I think I would've preferred a different potato. To end the night, we didn't even order dessert but the server brought out 2 desserts for us on the house! Let me start off with wow! This is a place to go with you're celebrating a special occasion. My best friend was in town and we were celebrating a milestone birthday. I made reservations at The Ledger and the attention to detail started before my visit. I added details to my reservation through open table. A couple days prior, I received a message asking what my friend's name was. Once we got to the restaurant, our table was ready with a personalized gift for her! The hostess was so kind and sat us at our table. Our server, Dave, was amazing! He acknowledged my friend's birthday and started off with complimentary champagne. Amazing! Those special touches were so thought out and it didn't stop there. Our server was great. The flow of drinks and food was spot on. For appetizers, we ordered the beef tallow candle which is made out of beef tallow and butter and comes with focaccia bread. The presentation was great! It was getting our birthday celebration on at the start of dinner. Highly recommend. It's so yummy. Additionally, we got the lamb pierogis too. Loved those too. For dinner, we ordered The Debt, the scallops, and the bourbon carrots. My husband and I split The Debt, which is 12 ounces of Waygu beef from Japan, Texas, and Australia. OMG! My tastebuds were so happy. Cooked medium, the temperature on the Waygu was perfect. The flavor. Omg. So spoiled. The scallops and carrots were good too! The magic continues with the dessert selection. There are a few options but we went with the carrot cake. The carrot cake comes with smoked cinnamon. Nice presentation. It was a little sweet for my best friend and my husband, so I was there to save the day. I ate it all. Additionally, we got a piece of beautiful funfetti cake with a birthday chocolate and candle. We tried cocktails from their speciality menu and the dessert menu. Everything was so thought out and delicious. The seafood and drinks were excellent. The ambience and environment is the best. The service is top notch usually.. just last visit the waitress missed an entire entree order which caused a delay for our party. Also, the prices are a bit high for the portion sizes and value. Drink prices are high too. I would hope this location can focus on the details further. But overall a great place. read more
