We came here on a Tuesday night. The restaurant was elegantly decorated for Christmas which gave it a nice ambience. Three of us ordered steak and the fourth ordered Osso Buco. They do a really nice job on the meat! I had a ribeye steak which was very flavorful and nicely prepared. Everyone loved their steaks! The food is quite good and definitely 4 stars but I took off a star for two reasons: 1) The service was very very slow. Polite but slow. 2). The side dish portions were inadequate. The side salad that came with the steak amounted to a mere three bites, it was more like a garnish but advertised as a side salad. And I agree with one of the other yelpers - I only counted 7 french fries on my plate!! There should have been more. read more

Had a great business dinner at Fiamma in Plymouth. The staff was patient, kind, and very accommodating for our group. We ordered a range of dishes--soup, salad, pasta, steak, and shrimp--and everyone enjoyed their meals. The carrots and asparagus sides were a both enjoyed. The location is convenient, though parking can be a bit tough during busy hours, so give yourself a little extra time. Overall, a solid spot for both business and casual dinners. read more

First time we have been back since Fiamma's remodel. We didn't have reservations but we scored a high top in the bar area. The service was great. Our servers were David and Forrest. We remembered David from the Sardine Room too. We started off with cocktails. I tried the hibiscus margarita. It was so pretty with a black salt rim and tasted great. My husband ordered a non-alcoholic Paloma. Nice that they have options for everyone. For dinner, we ordered the ahi tuna, Chilean seabass, mushrooms, and carrots. The fish dishes were great. My husband's seabass was perfect. The carrots were roasted with hot honey and feta. My favorite side dish! The mushrooms were good but would have paired better with a steak. For dessert, my husband ordered the snickerdoodle cocktail and I enjoyed a glass of Prosecco. Great date night! read more

I was excited to visit Fiamma Grille in the heart of downtown Plymouth. I visited on a Friday evening for a good friend's birthday dinner. The menu was a bit more gourmet than a typical grille. There was a nice selection of options for all of us which ranged from vegan to pescatarian. The food did take a little long to come out of the kitchen and came out one dish at a time. The dessert menu was relatively small and not overly enticing with the available options. Our server was average. A little more attentiveness could have helped. Sad to write such a negative review but the food here was quite awful. Everything was so incredibly over salted and all of us felt sick after eating here. The Osso Bucco was particularly terrible and the smallest portion (it was mostly risotto and gravy with a couple ounces of meat) to top it off it tasted sour/rancid. The service staff all seemed like they just got yelled at and were miserable. The host greeted us with her back to us and seemed like she was annoyed and our server just seemed like he would have preferred to be anywhere else. They were "doing their jobs" but it really set the tone and was just a bad vibe. This place needs a reset in morale and someone to take the salt away from the kitchen staff. read more

Had the chicken piccata and was glad I did. The chicken was browned on the outside and moist inside. The sauce combination of lemon, wine and capers made me dip the last drops with the provided warm bread. Most of my table mates were on some kind of diet and the waitress kept the deletions of various carbs as requested from the served plate. Had a nice dinner here with friends! For the appetizer we got the fresh baked pull apart rolls- they were delicious but it didn't come with a lot of bread. My fiance got the Chilean sea bass and it was very well prepared and had great seasoning to it! I got the steak brasserie and while I really liked the steak, I wasn't a fan of the bearnaise sauce, and they put a lot on top of the steak. The fries that came with the steak were great! This was a drag. Here is the bottom line. It is the shared kitchen with Campari's that makes this place a poor choice. For comparison, the Sardine Room has a separate kitchen, and there is actually a distinction between the food, not just them the menu and prices. We tried a few happy hour and regular menu items. The service was good, but the food wasn't great. The seafood salad (a lump of seafood w/out dressing on top of lettuce) was full of bones and shells. The shrimp and lobster potholes were disappointing, bland and definitely not worth $21. The saving grace was the warm bread rolls, although I wish we received more than 4 for $5 when there were 5 of us sitting at the table. Christian our server, was excellent. Very attentive. Suggested a steak special which my husband ordered and it was so very good. My filet was cooked perfectly, and the whipped brie appetizer was so scrumpious. Capri, the manager stopped by and chatted for more than a few minutes, what an asset to this restaurant. I was looking forward to the typical steakhouse experience. Dry-aged, well-marbled steak grilled at high heat, baked potato with all the fixings, and perhaps a garlicky Caesar salad with anchovies, topped with crunchy croutons to start. Yum. Instead, I was even more wowed by the inventive meal offered at Fiamma Grille. I went with the special that evening, a steak and seafood duet of flavors and textures. The 10 oz ribeye was grilled medium rare (more rare than medium) with a lovely crust. It was topped with a whole yellow mustard seed zip sauce that was savory, spicy and bitter. The ribeye was served with tender, pillowy potato gnocchi and Brussels sprouts. The latter was prepared with crispy bacon, julienned sun-dried tomatoes, and sweet/tart cherries. I cannot begin to do justice in describing the flavor composition of this dish: bursts of sweet, savory, bitterness and heat. The ribeye was served with two large prawns encrusted with sweet crab meat and topped with a black garlic aioli drizzle. Additionally, I also had several bites of the spaghetti squash side prepared in a beurre blanc sauce, accompanied by a generous heap of sweet fig halves. This was another surprisingly delicious offering. Service was friendly and accommodating. The restaurant itself sits opposite Kellogg Park in downtown Plymouth, along with its sister restaurants: Compari's and one of my faves, The Sardine Room. Upon entering, regulars dominate the bar and provide a warm welcome. Their hearty laughter could be heard in the separate dining room where a handful of guests were enjoying a quiet Tuesday evening out. I liked the cute chandeliers over the booths and the well-composed black and white photos hung throughout. The melodies of Sinatra and his peers added to the overall ambiance. read more

Our order of Ahi Tuna came to the table, it had obviously been sitting out quite a while, the tuna had oxidized and the rice was cold. They replaced it while we watched our friends eat, by the time the new order came, which looked much better, our friends were done eating. They got to watch us eat. The manager apologized, that was it. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to any one wanting good food or good service. Worst experience in quite a while. read more

A bit on the pricey side ($84 for two glasses of wine, a pasta dish, a chicken dish and a single dessert), but a relaxing and satisfying experience. Leave the kids at home (properly supervised, of course) for this one, but I think you will enjoy Fiamma Grille. read more

This could of been one of the worst meals I've ever had. Friday night in Plymouth was packed but we found this place nearly empty-now I know why...Calamari was bad!!! Horrible ammonia smell & taste- the chef surely knew this but served it anyway. The manager came over to apologize and told me he bought it and he noticed the smell, thought it was normal...WTH! The cippolini soup was awful- black pepper was all you could taste- inedible! Salad was drowning in dressing & soggy...ugh. Left the restaurant as hungry as I went in, the wine was safe. Our server, Brad, was on top of everything. That's highly important to my husband and our overall all experience. I had the lobster bisque soup, which was pretty good. I mean, I finished it lol. Then, I had the 8 oz fillet, added onion and mushroom, with au gratin potatoes. The fillet was extremely tender and the zip sauce was very good. The au gratin was slightly dry and could have used a little mite flavor, in my opinion. My husband had the 24 oz ribeye. He wished he had the fillet. I guess it wasn't impressive. I came in for one of their special December lunches with the parents. You have to celebrate whenever my mom feels well anymore. Depressing but true. We started with big nosh. The large house made smoked plate, which is served cold, featuring pepper encrusted hot smoked salmon, cold smoked salmon, whitefish and salmon pate. It was big plenty for us, they did not skimp on accompaniments. We also sampled a traditional Italian antipasti plate, which had marinated eggplant, artichokes, fontinella cheese, mixed olives, roasted peppers, feta cheese, sopressata and prosciutto ham. We were very pleased with the variety. We love to graze. My dad ordered ricotta gnocchi and piedmontese medallions tossed with exotic mushrooms, shallots and asparagus tips in a sherry wine sauce, topped with brie as his main. The gnocchi was clearly homemade and the medallions were cooked nice and tender. It came with a dinner salad with red wine vinaigrette which was good. He liked the meal, although it was rich, he filled up on app and starter salad though so he ended up packing most of it to go. My mom had a baby spinach salad with bacon, cherry tomatoes, spiced pecans, Gorgonzola cheese, red onion and egg. It was tossed with a roasted shallot vinaigrette that was happy to my tastebuds. She was a fan too. Perfect size to boot with the prior food we consumed. I went with the crimson roasted beet salad which starred mixed field greens, roasted beets, chevre cakes, toasted almonds, grapefruit segments and red onion in a lemon honey vinaigrette. I added on some tasty chicken which blended nicely with the other ingredients and made it a bit more hearty too. I'm a sucker for grapefruit, beets and chevre so of course I was delighted to find them all on one plate. We had been prior and this was on par. We will be back again. read more

Wow...wow. Pleasantly surprised with this one. This might be the best Groupon win we've had. Located on the park so you know parking isn't great. Tons of street parking within walking distance, but you just have to be patient and find it. Dimly lit, white tableclothed interior. Patrons were wearing everything from jeans to suits, but you'll likely feel better dressed up slightly. Drinks were a dirty martini with blue cheese olives for me (nice and smooth) and Ken's usual, a beer. No drink specials, so mine was average around $9 and his was a bit pricey for beer, $5.75. We couldn't get past the appetizer portion of the menu because everything looked just delicious. We thought it would be fun to do all apps and sides, so that's what we did! First round was cheese tasting and raw oysters. The cheese plate was substantial for $14, with two kinds of cubes (one with whole black peppercorns - yum), three scoops of spreadable cream-cheese type (garlic, fresh herbs and black pepper), and a small round of warm brie. Served with fancier crackers, walnuts, grapes, blueberries and strawberries. The oysters... well, I love raw oysters. Pricey at $15 for six, but excellent quality. They had three types - Blue Point is the only name I remember (largest, briney, super fresh). The other two were smaller, less briney and had a snappy cucumber finish. I highly recommend trying them on Wednesday when they are half off! Second round was sort of our main course. Ken got the Short Rib Quesadillas, another large, tasty app, with a nice amount of tender meat, $9. I had the Bouillabaisse which came chock full of clams, mussels, a salmon fillet, one shrimp and what I think was a big chunk of lobster. Just delicious, and a steal for around $13. For sides, we chose lobster risotto for $6 (actually came with pieces of lobster!), and the Brussels sprouts for $4. OK, the sprouts deserve their own section in this review. If you've had Roast's Brussels sprouts... you gotta try these. They are so similar, but less greasy. I'm pretty sure this dish was both of our favorites of the six we tried. Awesome bread basket. This is a great little spot in downtown Plymouth - especially if you can sit on the sidewalk in summer. I will agree with some of the other reviewers that it can be a little spendy, but it is a steak and seafood place - kind of expected. I've probably been here a dozen times but only eaten in the dining room once, so here's what I'll say: It's a great option for sharing a few appetizers and some good cocktails. The "small plates" are better than many of the main entree's nearby, and if you're looking for more of a light meal, I love ordering off the starters menu. We like to hit the patio or bar for happy hour and order up an antipasto plate, maybe some calamari or gnocchi (the menu is seasonal and changes) to share. There's also a bartender there that makes a top notch Lemon Drop Martini. Next time I'm in, I'll get her name so everyone can ask and enjoy a Lemon Drop Martini done right! read more

I've been a regular here since Fiamma opened, so much so that I'm now good friends with other regulars and residents who also enjoy dining here. Let's start with the food: It's really good and the menu features a variety of items sure to please just about anyone's palette. The daily features are almost always a hit, especially the mixed grill. The Calamari is just about the best I've ever had, and you can get it two ways (my fave is with the San Marzano sauce). (EDIT: The calamari is different now so please check the menu). The other appetizers are worthy of trying, including the mussels, short rib quesadillas, the cheese tasting and the smoked fish plate (one of my routine favorites). The house salad is good, but the iceberg wedge with blue cheese dressing is even better. The latter disappeared from the menu for abut a year but was brought back by popular demand. General portion sizes are big and generally good value for the price you pay although the priced have started to increase a bit as of late. Chef John does a really nice job keeping the menu fresh, as it changes a couple times throughout the year. I think he's got a very nice array of items that are not overly seasoned. Just enough, but not too much salt. (EDIT: Chef John is no longer here but has his own catering company) I miss that he used to come out from the kitchen to say hi to regulars once in a while. Back to the food, of the entrees, I frequently get the salmon, walleye, filet and tagliatelle bolognese or one of the daily specials. Let's move on to the staff/service: I normally sit at the roughly 20+ seat bar with friends or neighbors. Jessie (he's over at the Sardine Room now) and Suzanne (became a nurse but you'll find her dropping in at Compari's to work on Sundays) and the rest of the gang--Sandy and Kim--take very good care of guests, no matter if you're a regular like me or a first-timer. And they'll concoct new drinks if you describe something new based on taste you want to try. Drink portions, such as a wine pour, are very generous. Drinks aren't cheap, but the selection of wine is wide and varied and there isn't a bad selection on the list. Meanwhile, the General Manager Patrick is always welcoming and chats with people throughout the evening. The owners are there frequently as well and they're also nice, as is their son Ryan who's there almost always when I drop in. He always come by to say hello and chat. Bottom line, fun staff, great service, and they appreciate your business. What more could you ask for? And now for the ambience: It's an elegant restaurant and during the summer months you can enjoy the outdoor patio seating. But be prepared to wait over an hour if you don't get there early. Reservations suggested. Or sit at the bar as I do as a drop in for dinner. The restaurant is geared to adults, but if you're looking for a family-friendly restaurant you can walk through the back of Fiamma and into Compari's right next door (owned by same family). Secret hint: Since Compari's restaurant right next door is owned by the same family, you can sit at the bar at Fiamma and order off of the Compari's menu. Shhhhh, you didn't hear it from me! Who is Fiamma for? Dining alone? sit at the bar and join in the fun (lots of locals hanging out). Couples, special occasions, drop in before seeing a moving across the street at the Penn Theater, and for group events they have a banquet dining room that seats at least 50 people (think showers, rehearsal dinners, etc) and if you really want to go big, you can rent the whole place out as a private event. All in all this is one of my favorite places to go for so many reasons. Drop in sometime and check it out. Plus! 1/2 off bottles of wine on Tuesdays, usually open for lunch on select days of the week during the month of December, but call to be sure; (and Sundays during the month of December); and a really good happy hour. This was the restaurant that my wife and I stopped at before her 20 year reunion. We were able to be seated outside because the weather was great. I ordered the Filet my wife ordered the Tuna. I give the Filet a 9.75/10, my wife rated her Tuna 8.5/10! What really brings this place to my list of favorites is the Service. My water never got low. JEFF our server was exceptional!!! We came here on Christmas Eve and this place was packed! They told me that they had over 400 reservations (which I am assuming was between the three restaurants that they own here on Main Street) But the good news is that even though there were people milling in the bar (listening to the live music which set a nice tone) when we got there for our reservation, they immediately seated us in the main dining room which was a nice surprise! They were serving their regular menu but also had plenty of nightly specials and they all sounded good! We started with some of their fresh oysters (three different types on this night) and the beef tenderloin served with peppers (sort of like Swiss steak). We also split the caprese salad which was also quite good. For our entrees- we all had steak- the 20 oz cowboy steak, the NY strip covered in peppercorns and the small filet (they have 3 different sizes) While they all came with some sides (mashed garlic potatoes, asparagus, au gratin spinach, etc) there are other sides available too, like sauteed mushrooms, etc. All the steaks were perfectly prepared and tasted great! But I suggest you save some room for dessert as the dessert tray is so tempting; Red velvet cake, 7 layer chocolate cake, coconut torte, apple berry pie and the king of them all- the homemade tiramasu! We went with the tiramasu and this mound of deliciousness was probably the best tiramasu that I have ever had. And a big enough piece to take some home. Service was excellent. Patti, our server was helpful and patient accommodating all of my dietary requests with a smile. It was busy so the hectic pace may have upset some of the normal timing of the place (like it took a long time for the appetizers to come up) but that was fine given we were in no hurry. Dinner for three ran just under $200 which was very reasonable given we had plenty of leftovers for the next day. And as for parking- there is plenty of street parking available right in front of the place (and on this night there was a valet as well) Good food served by pleasant servers in a lovely environment, Fiamma Grille really met all of our needs on this snowy Christmas Eve. I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. It is my favorite restaurant located in the Plymouth area and a nice place to go to for a special occasion or business dinner. Let's start with the food and beverages. I typically order a filet and seasonal vegetables and have never been disappointed. The steaks are always delicious and perfectly prepared. I have also ordered a beef gnocchi dish a few times and was pretty good. They also have a good wine selection if that is your thing. If not, they have several craft cocktails to choose from. The ambiance is nice. It's a well put together dining experience. If it's warm outside, I highly recommend sitting outside on the patio. The atmosphere is perfect. The price is about what you would expect for a nice dinner. On average, Dinner for 2 with drinks and tip is around $90-$125 with tip. Definitely not cheap, but not too expensive either. This is one of the best dinners I have ever had. Hands down! The ambiance was perfect with beautiful romantic lighting, candles and harmonious live music. The service was excellent and exceeded my expectations. I had ordered my steak well done and it arrived medium well, they not only corrected it within a few minutes, but also send the manager to deliver it and ask us how we were enjoying our meal and how the service was up to that point. The steak was perfectly cooked and it melted in my mouth! The herb mashed potatoes were heavenly and so were the seasonal vegetables. The steak sauce served with it was so flavorful without being overwhelming. It just complimented the steak flavor. Paired with a glass of Malbec, it was the perfect meal. Their bread was also so crispy and delicious, and I had to stop eating it! We had the bumpy cake for dessert which was delectable and there was plenty more to take home. Our overall experience was excellent except for our server. She appeared to just not be in the mood or maybe just a dry personality. She wasn't very friendly, no back and forth banter even after we made a few comments, just lack luster from what I would expect and have received at such a high rated restaurant. Other than that the food was amazing! Even my sons chicken tenders were delicious! The steaks were good; however mine was over cooked. I asked for medium and it was brown through out. It was seasoned well but clearly due to being over cooked wasn't as tender as I would have liked. The Brussels sprouts and wedge salad were delicious! Went here for dinner with my girlfriend to celebrate 6 months together. We were originally planning on going to another place in downtown Plymouth, but that place didn't take reservations and the wait was way too long. We were able to get seated almost immediately here, which was wonderful. Fiamma Grille is definitely one of the more upscale restaurants in downtown Plymouth. The bar and wine selection are excellent. Both of us had a glass of wine while we enjoyed the bread which we dipped in the olive oil and spices. I ordered the salmon and she had the gnocchi. Both were excellent. The Gnocchi had a unique flavor that wasn't exactly my favorite, but it was still great. The desserts on the tray they brought to the table looked excellent. We decided to pass since we had places to go. The only slip up at this place was that our waiter was a little bit absent minded and we had to remind him about a few things we had requested. I also felt like we were mistreated since we were younger than their typical clientele. I'll probably return sometime in the future. read more
