David the bartender was great! Food was great, Cajun chicken salad was very good. Drinks are great. The environment was chill and fun.

I've met my Westside friends up here a few times and always had a good time. Think old school bar with the dark walls and lighting, darts and club Keno. The bartenders have always been nice and welcoming. Drink prices are very reasonable and their menu is good. I tried the wings before and they were hot and crispy. My friend had one of their entree salads and it was huge. They have a separate dining area and it's a family place during the daytime. They had an outside patio that is under construction now but hopefully it will be back when the construction is done. Gatsby's is worth checking out if you find yourself in the Novi/Wixom area! read more

Saturday afternoon, headed to a Tigers game and wanted to stop somewhere we had never been for lunch. Well here we are, at Gatsby's. Here is what we liked : * Immediate seating and where you would like. Nice. And immediately greeted upon sitting and given menus. * Mushroom appetizer- while basic mushrooms were crisp and not greasy and a decent size. * Beer was cold. *The misses got a BLT, which can be a gamble. This was a solid good, decent amount and quality of bacon. Also added tots so she was happy. * I went with the Rueben and it was quite good. A mild sauerkraut and good thick slices of corn beef. And added onion rings, so I was happy. * the other couple with us got a burger that looked good and said it was good. What could of been better: * Onion rings were a bit greasy but I still ate them all. * Misses thought the high top table should have hooks for purses, as it appeared it may have in the past. We were recently at the home show in Novi and needed a place to stop and get a meal. We decided to go into Gatsby and see what it was all about. Our waitress was friendly and able to help us out with whatever was on the menu if we had any questions. We had hamburgers and salads, both were very good. It seems like it would be a great place to be a regular bar patron. A very nice u-shaped bar with lots of regulars. If I had any thing to say negative, it would be the booth size is very tight. I suggest if you're eating dinner grab a table. read more

Went here to watch the Lions playoff game. It was such a fun atmosphere, everyone was singing the fight song ( I didn't even know there was one!). Everyone was so friendly from the bartender, the patrons and even the owner! Too bad we lost. I only had drinks and potato skins, they were delicious however! The outside signage always intrigued me. I thought it would be art deco inside. It was an average bar inside. They have some bar games like darts. TVs on every wall to watch the latest sports. Went here after dinner with some friends for a few drinks and stayed so long we ordered some appetizers. The apps were pretty good and the ranch dipping sauce was one of the best i've ever had. The only concern we had was for a Saturday night, they only had one bartender and one waitress so we had to keep going to the bar to order more drinks. This is the first time we have been here. I have always wanted to try this place and now we finally had the opportunity. We both got the burgers which are half pound Angus burgers. Both burgers were excellent, made exactly the way we like them. This place was really happening, the parking lot was full, but we didn't wait too long to get seated. This is a Novi favorite, right across from the Showplace. It's usually busy, but they always seem to find a table for us. Our evening as usual was great. Service A+. Prompt, efficient and friendly. This is clearly a place where friends and families meet. Everyone seems to know each other. From the warm welcome to the goodbyes, this is a cosy spot. The menu is simple and straightforwards, prices are in line with other local places and the portions are large. My dinner was up very quickly. Having a selection of craft beers, rather then the obligatory single (But excellent Sam Adams) was a welcome addition and lifted this review to a five. Not "Great" but good. I would go back again if I was in the area. There was a convention starting just down the street and they were slammed, but the staff seemed to really be on it. I'm sure they are used to it and put the right staffing in place... It did seem pretty dark in there, but I didn't think it was overly dirty, nor did I notice any stale smells as others have mentioned. We all decided on burgers for lunch. None of them were bad by any means, but not really outstanding either. I had them add bleu cheese and they certainly didn't skimp on it. bacon, bleu cheese, cooked right. The only knock is/was that the burger seemed like it was probably frozen. Again, no bad taste, not dried out or anything like that, just didn't seem overly fresh. Unfortunately I can't remember our servers name, but she was very attentive without smothering us, and as I've written before, that's something I appreciate. read more

I am surprised at the high ratings others gave this place. Hamburger is a thin patty. Taco salad was ok but more taco shell than salad. Service was good. I left with the impression that people come here for drinks and Keno and the food is an afterthought. To be fair we arrived at 3:30 on a Saturday so that might have been our timing. read more

Went a little after 4 and the place was very quite; the only customers were the regulars sitting around the bar. Went in with a group of people after a work event for some food and after work drink. The waitress was very nice and efficient. The beer price was good, only about 5-6 beers on tap. Food prices are good too, not sure why the listing shows $$, I would definitely say its a $ kind of place. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with a half order of onion rings. The burger was good (nothing fancy), but I have had better other places. The onion rings were definitely where its at! They were super crispy and the kind that when you bite into them you don't pull the entire onion out of the fried coating. Yum! Food portions were decent too. Others in my group ordered: Dinty Moore sandwich, salad, grilled chicken sandwich, french onion soup. I heard no complaints about the food. Your typical dive bar.
