Find the one lonely scallop; cut in half
    Doug R.

We arrived on Sunday at 6PM. Given all the cars, I was expecting a wait ... I was mistaken, we were seated immediately. Service is prompt and attentive, without being obsequious. Tables are a bit close together; close enough that it was easy to eavesdrop on the surrounding tables, but not so close that there was any bump & grind by passing staffers. My "two napkin" cheeseburger was ordered medium and arrived well done, but sufficiently juicy. Good beefy flavor and the seasoning was spot-on. The veggies were fresh and crisp. The sauce was tasty and the amount was perfect. The (brioche?) bun was toasted and the American cheese was fully melted. It was indeed the two napkin burger that I had to finish with knife and fork when the bun fell apart. Next time I will order the sauce on the side. SWMBO order the Shrimp & scallops pasta. There was one lonely scallop, cut in half, among a sufficient quantity of shrimp. She liked the dish, but felt cheated re: the scallops. More scallops; or no scallops, and rename the dish. The dining room and men's room are clean. The parking is ample and the spots are plenty wide for the typical SUV. Will we return? Yes.

Enjoyed a Friday night dinner at Bernstein Grille. The restaurant was busy but we were seated quickly with a reservation. Our server was very nice and attentive. Fish and chips was very good with a very large piece of fish and delicious tartar sauce. The side salad was also a very good size. Signature soup was good but for me it was just missing the cheese. I think I was expecting more of a French onion but still had good flavor. Would recommend this place!

Another superb Yelp find! We were out and about running errands and decided to get some lunch. We decided on Benstein Grille. The ambiance - very quaint, yet eclectic vibe going on. There are separate areas for private gatherings. Restaurant was very clean and there is a full bar just in case you wanted to toss back a few while visiting. Food - excellent! Price - expected for gastropub environment. Service - our server was also taking care of a private party, so he was a bit distracted. Seemed like the servers worked as a team helping each other if needed. I wish we saved room for the carrot cake - next time!

Bronzed Salmon. The sauce is exceptional. The sides and bread are include.

Fantastic food at reasonable prices! Five of us dined and everyone raved about their food--1 pork chop, 1 sausage arrabbiata and 3 bronzed salmons. I had one of the salmons and the sauce is exceptional. All entrees came with sides. In addition to the entrees, there were two salads, a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, and two corkage charges for the two bottles of wine we brought. It was $199 prior to tax and tip. I have attached a photo of the receipt, 2 of the food, and a humorous photo of the photo that hangs over the urinal in the men's room. We like the interior and the patio seating area. We will be eating here often! I highly recommend Benstein Grille.

Absolutely delicious! The flavors of everything we ordered was fresh and hot! We were able to get our carry-out order as soon as it was promised, and the front desk was very efficient and friendly.

Went last night to Benstein Grille. Our service was excellent and the meal was tasty. I had the onion soup, which was unique, and that it wasn't served in a crock. And instead of the cheese being melted on top, it was more of a patty. While it wasn't what I was expecting, I actually really enjoyed it. But definitely if you order this, don't be expecting the usual. And then I had the steak bite appetizer as my entrée. I am glad the server put the zip sauce on the side because it was quite salty. It was tasty, but definitely it would've been drowning in it if all the sauce was on top. I would definitely come back. It was busy, so I'm glad we had a reservation. But overall the ambience was lively and nice.

Found this place because we got tired of our regular local spots. My favorite part of this place (besides our very attentive waitress) was the mocktails the had. I love going to places with mocktails so this was a beautiful surprise. The place had a beautiful decor and rustic look. Food- I unfortunately wasn't really a hit for me. It could have been the day or myself. But here is my personal experience. We had complimentary bread that I wasn't sure how I felt. It was like a yeast roll and biscuit mixed. It wasn't bad, but not 100% sure. I did order them twice because I couldn't decide if I loved them or not (if that makes sense). I think if they came with honey butter instead of the sun dried tomato oil dip, I would have said 100% loved it. I wasn't a fan of the chicken wings. I feel like they aren't fried with flour but more panko/breadcrumbs? They also were burnt. They have an Alabama bbq sauce which is white. I ordered steak and it was cooked a perfect medium which I did appreciate. However the outside was very very charred. It didn't have much flavor to it either probably due to the overcharring. The side green beans were so good. Might have been the best thing on my plate! The au gratin potatoes tasted more like ricotta cheese and potatoes so I wasn't a fan. Our table ordered the salmon which was said to be very good along with the mashed potatoes. I did try the mashed and I'm not quite fond of mashed. However, these were definitely delicious. The broccoli was ok, but green beans definitely better. The lamb chops were good, but the lamb was very small. Maybe I would give this place another try because I didn't get to try the salmon. I did enjoy most the side dishes too. But I would definitely go back for the mocktails and bread (I think I did like it haha).

I arrived early to sample their Happy Hour where I got a Tommy Margarita which was one of four cocktail choices on the Happy Hour menu where the other choices are an Old Fashion, Lemon Drop Martini and a Black Manhattan. All of which I personally am a fan of. Relative to my Margarita, it was very well made with 2 full ounces of Blanco Tequila as the base and quite tasty. Definately a drink with a kick and not a watered down version you get at most other bars in the area. At $8 it's a pretty good deal in my opinion especially for a drink of this quality. Relative to Dinner my wife got the White Fish dinner and I got the Milanese Chicken. Both dishes were excellent where they were cooked to perfection and were delicious. Prices on the menu were a tad high in my opinion but the old adage that you get what you pay for applies here and is definately worth the cost in my opinion. Appetizer was the Calamari which was well made and quite tasty in its own right. Relative to staff and facility, the facility is very classy with a nice contemporary flair to it, Definately an upscale feel to it where both the bar and the dining area offer an elevated dining/drinking experience. Staff was super friendly with great follow up where the bar can be a tad slower as only one bartender was working while I was there but he did a fairly good job of keeping up with the orders and high marks for his efficiency. Overall a great classy restaurant with a nice Happy Hour makes this a destination restaurant worth the trip if you live outside this area. For discerning customers who prize Quality in what they eat and drink this is a business not to be missed!

The place is huge: dining rooms, private room, large bar area with many TVs, a stage and dance floor area, plus an outdoor patio which is enclosed for all year round use. It is usually very busy and therefore very loud especially in the bar/TV area. The menu has lots of options including for restricted diet which I appreciate being gluten free. The portions are large, you get your money's worth, even if the food itself is not super imaginative. The salads are my favorite, and are large enough to share. The Chop salad with steak and shrimp is very filling. The Greek with chicken actually comes with a good amount of toppings, not just a single beet or pepperoncini pepper on top. The service is always great and staff is friendly and accommodating. Splitting bills even for a large group is not an issue. If you're there on a weekend night for the live music, the dance floor area can get packed. The crowd and vibe depends on which band and music genre is playing. The starter of bang bang shrimp was flavorful and the shrimp crispy but that's where it ended. The salads were subpar. Some might say, it's a salad - aren't they boring? No, they shouldn't be. I added shrimp to mine and somehow the shrimp had no flavor. Where did it go? The ahi tuna salad looked good too but the tuna was cooked too much. It should just kiss the heat, not actually cook. There is an entrance for just the restaurant which makes it easier to enter. There is also close parking next to it. I had no wait on a Friday evening, which I'm sure isn't common, but I was also there about1 hour 30 minute - 2 hours to closing so it could be why. I was still given great service and a wonderful cooked dish. I ordered a mocktail (virgin spring in wing) that had was supposed to have smashed strawberries. I barely tasted the strawberry (I did not have some in the drink) as the soda water overpowered everything thing else. I probably should have said something, but I didn't. If I order next time I will. There were many great things on the menu, but I opted for the bone in pork chop. While I waited I did ask if they had bread service and they have corn bread. First I was like "hmmmm idk". Once it came to the table I loved it. I usually don't butter my corn bread, but I tried their butter with it and I enjoyed the pairing. It was perfectly cooked well enough how pork should be, but still tender so it wasn't dry. It had this whiskey sweet fruity glaze over it which was delicious. I would have preferred it on the side, but that's just a personal preference. The green beans weren't soggy, they had a slight crisp to them. A great flavor. I opted out of the loaded baked potato and just got a plain with butter , sour cream and chives. Overall for what I ordered I didn't think the price to be too unreasonable. However, this place can get pricy with other things on the menu. Their menu might also change because I seen photos of this place and those items weren't on the menu. I would come here again for a dinner alone, with my spouse and even with friends.

The breads felt stale, and the vegetables were sad and tasted horrible. Putting aside the negative comments and the absolutely blazing campfire behind my seat, my service was amazing. We had Rayna Rose serve us, and she was so kind, friendly, and beautiful. She showed professionalism while providing a comforting tone and attitude to the total environment. While observing her with other tables, I saw that she not only treated everyone with the same kindness and respect but really put her best effort into her work and service. After around 30 minutes of waiting, our entrées came out. I ordered their signature Oak burger, and my sister ordered the sirloin entrée. My burger came out with soggy buns, stale fries that weren't crispy, and ketchup that was average. My sister's sirloin was bland, dry, and the balsamic glaze made the overall dish sour, and not in a good way. We were able to finish the soggy burger as a team, but the sirloin was unbearable. They use very tacky fluorescent lit lamps instead of candles at each table which doesn't match the warm lighting throughout the rest of the establishment. This took some getting used to but was not a huge issue. I started with a glass of wine and shrimp cocktail. The large shrimp were about as fresh as you can expect in Michigan and quite good but the house made cocktail sauce was underwhelming and closer to ketchup than a true cocktail sauce with horseradish. I ordered a bowl of mushroom bisque next. While the mushroom bisque had a good flavor, it was overly salty and I had to ask for bread to go along with it. I also needed to drink multiple glasses of water just to finish this soup due to the salt content. My wife had the French onion soup which tasted great but the gruyere cheese was done more than heavily on top. Next I had the Caesar Salad. This had a good tasting Caesar dressing and there was a perfect amount of dressing on each bite. The croutons were excellent but was disappointed with only one and a half small pieces of anchovy on the salad since it was advertised to have it on the menu. The parmesan crisp looked nice on the side but was very stale. So far I was not very impressed, especially for the price, but the Pan-Seared Sea Bass entree completely changed my experience here. The sea bass was cooked perfectly, flaked nicely, and melted like butter in each bite while still maintaining a subtle crisp from the outside sear. The lime artichoke glaze on the sea bass was excellent and the fish paired nicely with the cilantro lime rice and wild mushroom medly.
