This is one of my favorite places to go, the burgers and big and juicy and the cheese curds with buttermilk ranch are soooo good they slap hard! I usually get the burger with blue cheese crumbles, Swiss cheese, cheddar cheese and sautéed mushrooms and onions medium well, not pink or very little pink. The place is small for the crowd it draws so don't expect it to be quiet cuz it never is. That's my only gripe is it's butts to elbows but other than that the space is a typical bar and the food is on the moderate scale for bar food but for sure worth what you're paying. The service is standard just make sure to ask for all the sides at once instead of sending the wait staff back for extra ranch or ketchup, etc. it can take a long time. But if you're looking for a good local watering hole with bomb digity food, this is the place to go. read more

I have been going to the Copper Mug for over 50 years for the Mug burger because was cooked to order and value from 11am to 2pm. It is obvious that there has been an owner change, I'm told an attorney now owns it. The Mug burger was $8.75 for years, then about a year ago it went to $9.25. Now in the last week the cost is $11.00. Not a great deal anymore. Today will be the last time I go to the Copper Mug and let me explain. Normally, the Mug is packed for the lunch special between 11am and 2pm, but not today. I ordered the Mug burger special was always, I stressed I wanted it medium rare. Because there was vertually no one in the place my order was next, so my normal wait time of 30 to 45 minutes should be unnecessary. I ended up waiting about 20 minutes and the cook brought my order over, I thanked her and asked if it was medium rare to which she replied yes. To my astonishment, the burger was well done and the fries were ice cold! Not what I was expecting at all. When I got my bill, I explained the issue to provide feedback for the establishment. My server then picked up the tab and apologized for my experience. Just as I am getting ready to leave, my server approached me and explained that whenever there's a complaint they needed to call the owner. The owner instructed that I needed to pay them the old price of $9.25. I was floored! I paid, and explained that I nor any other people that I recommended to Copper Mug to over the years will ever set foot here again. I hope the owner is a better attorney than he is being a pub owner! Went here to play some Golden Tee. Pulled up and thought it was a nice dive bar. It was way better than that! Not a large building but that's what make it so great! Has an awesome patio! Copper Mug has delicious burgers... and probably a lot of other good things on the menu, as well, but when I go, I get takeout for the burger. The ambiance is definitely a small (cramped) bar seen. The wait staff is friendly and welcoming. If you're not into the scene, grab some takeout. Highly recommend the olive burger. read more

Absolutely 4 starts. This is a little place with dig taste. A single server who manages a demanding crowd with ease. As far as atmosphere, it's what you would expect when you pull up to the place. Comfortable, neighborhood bar feel. The burger I had was the copper mug burger with the bourbon sauce. Cooked to the correct temp and loaded with flavor, I could actually taste the bourbon in the bbq sauce. Tots which were not greasy added a nice and different side. GF & I came in for a couple bar burgers and fries. It took nearly an hour to get the order. We watched as the cook was floating around the bar instead of doing her job. The people next to us came in after us, and received their order way before ours. The burgers weren't anything special. The fries were disgusting, shoestring fries. There were like 20 little fries that looked like toothpicks. The place wasn't that packed either. I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Small and I heard, newly renovated. Patio in front and side for those nice days that we won't see for much longer. Good parking. Casual atmosphere, quick to get your order. Sandwiches, burgers are the bulk of the menu. Good beer list for both draft and bottle, prominently displayed on the wall. A few TVs surround filled with sports- for us bowling! I opted for the steak sandwich- without the cheese. It was tasty with mushroom and onions, nice thick steak, well cooked to be able to snap off a bite of sandwich. Came with many many fries. My companion opted for the olive burger and ate every bite in the 1/2 pound version. We ordered the firecracker fries and lips were made hot hot hot!! Helpful to wash down with some beer! This was my first time here. I came in the afternoon and was amazed to see the parking lot filled with cars. There was a tigers game on, but I found out that the big attraction was reduced cost for their hamburger today. Service was good, but do not come here if you have little time From the time I ordered till I got my food was over a half an hour. Food was good. Environment is comfortable and nice. The food here is so good! We've enjoyed the pretzel bites, onion rings, burgers, and fries. All have been so great everytime we've been here. The alcohol is cheap and I'd recommend trying out their margaritas. We were surprised to see how busy it was on a Sunday afternoon. Lots of parking available though. When we walked in we were greeted by the staff and customers. What a warm welcome! The customers at the bar invited us to join them, so we did! My patty melt lunch with a Moscow mule or two was delicious! My fiancé got the mushroom Swiss burger, which was just as good. I recommend you share a side because they are giant! We ordered the shoestring fries and they came in a giant basket. Our bartender/server was awesome! Super sweet! She let me try a couple of ciders/beers before going with a Moscow mule. We were at the copper mug! Moscow mule is a must! Although thing I love about this place is the kitchen is in the bar! This bar has been around since 1965 and knowing that they cook everything right in front of you definitely makes me see things are clean and I just like it! A little hole in the wall bar. From the outside it may not appear as much but once you open the door you are greeted with rock music, patrons laughing and enjoying their food and friendship, and the smell of the perfect bar burgers and fries. They have a nice assortment of drinks and standard bar food but it is all cooked really well. It is a relaxed environment that you can sit back and enjoy. Highly recommend building your own burger and don't forget to add the olives for the perfect salty bite. Parmesan fries are crispy and perogies are perfectly cooked. This is a great neighborhood bar. The other patrons were friendly and the staff was nice and really great too. The food- the mushrooms were VERY good as were the burgers. We also got a Ruben alder which was huge! So good and messy and tasty. The cheese curds were so so- a bit too done so half of them lost the cheese and had nothing in them.
