    The Brasserie burger. Very good

I've eaten here before but it's been awhile. I truly believe their goal is to put you in a food coma with the giant portions! It's excellent. I had their specialty burger which is huge. I got some truffle fries on the side and couldn't finish them although they are delicious. Full bar and nice atmosphere. The service was prompt and friendly. One of my favorite places in the Detroit area.

Hands down the best burgers in the city! Located on Orchard Lake in West Bloomfield with plenty of parking in an adjacent parking lot. Love that the seating options include table, patio or bar seating. And Ryan is our favorite bartender of all time. We don't eat here unless we know he's working. His sense of sarcastic humor always makes our night. The bar banter and big screen TVs make for a great atmosphere. The food is awesome. Burgers are always top tier and the seafood chowder with a hint of curry spice is to die for. I do also tried the fish and chips, the grilled fish sandwich and the chicken pot pie which were all winners. The next time you're craving a good burger, you should go here.

first time here - believe it or not! but i have been told numerous times of how amazing the burgers are - and they did not disappoint! side of onion rings is a must! so good. we ended our savory meal with the sweet gooey bread pudding. atmosphere is quaint and simple. a metro detroit stapled favorite for a reason!! our server seemed a bit preoccupied but helpful regardless

This location, eek - needs exterior improvements, no signage and potholes in the parking lot and the inside needs some updates (specifically the restrooms). However the food was good so I would say if you are in the area already and are looking for a good burger/food, this place would be okay. We got burgers, (I really like that they have a lower fat option with the Piedmontese beef), fries, Mahi-mahi sandwich, mussels and a salad (get dressing on the side). Everyone seemed pleased with their meals and a burger can definitely be 2 meals (at least for us). The burgers all come with lettuce, tomato & mayo and there are a whole slew of toppings (at an extra cost) that you can add such as an egg, truffle mayo, grilled onions etc. The service was good. I really want to love this location and we have gone several times (many years ago) to the original Woodward street location and enjoyed many meals there but, sorry, don't go out of your way to this W. Bloomfield one but at least if you do, you will know what to expect. Hopefully some updates can be done to help improve this restaurant!

I didn't even know there was a Red Coat Tavern on Orchard Lake until a few months ago. Growing up, my Dad worked at Royal Oak Beaumont and as a special treat a few times a year he would take us for burgers. I met my dear friend Betsy for dinner last week and we were greeted with open arms! Had the most wonderful server Jane, she got us on point on what to order and kept the beers coming. I'm obsessed with French onion soup, and theirs did not disappoint. Hot, cheesy, great broth. The staff was outstanding in checking in with us and making us feel at home.

Do they have outdoor seating, and if so, do they accept reservations for it?

They do have outdoor seating but they were not taking reservations for lunch, not sure about dinner

It definately is head and shoulders above most of the burgers in the area. The side of fries were well made as well with a nice crunchy texture and nice flavor although not to the level of the burger. The facility itself seems to be oriented to more of a takeout operation versus dine in as there are only three small tables at the front near the entrance where on cold winter day you can feel the chill every time someone comes in or leaves the restaurant. Relative to staff, there is no waitstaff as it is a counter order operation where this is really not a factor here. Overall, one of the best burger joints in the area at a reasonable cost. The takeout nature of business is a factor here to consider if you are looking for table dining as it will be a roll of the dice if you get a table depending on time of day.

Aside from the main entree's they also offer a selection of Tapas and salad selections For my first meal here I got their custom blend cheese burger that had caramelized onions, house made pickles, lettuce, tomato and a house sauce with fries. The burger was very tasty cooked to perfection with a medium doneness (no over cooking here unless you ask for it) where the sauce and pickles gave it a unique flavor profile that I liked. Fries were crunchy and nicely done as well. For my drink I ordered a house Margarita from their tequila inspired craft cocktail menu. The Margarita was very smooth and quite tasty and very reasonably priced at $10. MY only gripe with the drink is it was made with Reposadao tequila where my personal tastes trend towards a brighter Margarita and Blanco tequila. Having said that I could drink this Margarita all day long! Relative to staff and facility, the restaurant is definately on the rustic side where it could probably use an update on the ceramic floors and tables/chairs. It's not bad but it would add greater appeal if they invested a little more money on the interior in my opinion. Staff was super friendly and I enjoyed my conversation with my waitress who also served as the bartender. Overall the uniqueness of this menu and how good the taco menu looked will definately bring me back in the near future as I need to give those guys a try as well. When we walked in, the guy behind the counter looked like he didn't want to be there. He had his earbuds in and was watching something on his phone. He also never greeted us and we had to find a menu on our phones, only after we were ordering did he look up and offer us a menu. When looking at the grill behind him, it was coated in tin foil, which looks nasty. If you don't want to clean the grill, then don't be open. We ordered and went to look for a table, and with no one in there, you would think it would be easy to find something, but no, there was dirty trays with half-eaten food on several tables. When we did find a table, it was sticky and I had to wipe it down just to sit there. Once we were sat, we looked at the silverware, and it was all dirty looking and unwrapped in a wooden-looking tray on the table. Also nasty. Our food came out, and it was underwhelming. My breast and wing were the size of my palm but the leg and thigh my wife got was very good looking. The yuca fries were the best thing we got, they were crispy and well cooked. Once we finished out meal, we each went to the restroom and those were NASTY! Water everywhere, the door handles were dirty and sticky, and I didn't want to touch anything in there. We will not be back and have told many of our friends to avoid this place, and I hope this review gets to people so they can avoid it as well.

For our entrees, I got the chicken limone - chicken piccata is one of my favorite dishes and this is very similar. It's $29 which I thought was a bit expensive but you do get a gigantic portion, I brought half of it home. My friend got what she thought was a salad but it was more of like a Mediterranean small chicken dish, and she got a side of the beef tallow fries, which we both thought were expensive at $7, but it was very tasty and she said it was worth it. Everything on the dessert menu looked great but we ended up splitting the campfire funnel fries, and it came out in the shape of a campfire! Very nice presentation. Waitservice was a bit slow, we had a separate person coming to refill our water and overall that was consistent until the end though. That being said, the food and the atmosphere was great so I would return another time.
