Their burgers are absolutely amazing, really juicy and great taste. I order the suicide burger 1/3 (small) and it was delicious. This place is the definition of a dive bar. A good portion of the night both the other patrons and the staff were focused on a car accident outside. Literally staff was going outside to look. I heard drunkin women talk about the men that wronged them and 50 yr old dudes were just obsessed with the female bartender. The food was good, not great. I had a shroom burger. The mushrooms were not fresh and likely came from a can. The fries were good, but nothing earth shattering. Service was very responsive and friendly. Although my table picked 2 or 3 beers they were out of. Gotta give them credit - tv's all over the place and could always catch the game. For a dive bar I would recommend. read more

Worst experience I've had in years. It took 30 mins to get our appetizer. After 1 hour of waiting we still didn't have our food. When I asked where our burgers were I was told the menu says they take 30-40 mins. It had been an hour since we ordered. We waited another 10 more mins then had to cancel our order because we had to leave bc my husband had work. After sitting there for an hour and 20 mins and no food we couldn't keep waiting. This place is going as strong as ever. Pleasantly they have continued on and moved past the Covid-19. The Copper Mug burger is delicious. The staff is OK- not great but they do a decent job of keeping the meats going from grill to gullet. We've been stopping in occasionally for a few years, generally early afternoons. In my opinion, the best burgers anywhere! I'm partial to the Olive Burger, but have tried them all. Delicious chili and I love the firecracker fries. The staff is extremely hardworking, efficient and friendly. A typical neighborhood bar and grill but the fact that they've been around for about eighty years and fills up fast during peak times speaks volumes. Always a pleasure to have a meal here. read more

As dive bars go this isn't bad. The Reuben was respectable with some serious contribution of corned beef. I didn't see any sauerkraut but it was still a tasty thing. The fries were cooked but lacking excitement. We didn't drink so I couldn't tell you if the beer was beer-ish. The atmosphere was pretty hard core, I'll have to admit. It's not a place for little ones with tender ears. The wait staff was quite pleasant. Coin flip on this versus Uptown, I'll probs be gunning for Uptown. Copper Mug. This place just screams out for a review of the good, the bad, and the ugly. The good: Without question, the burgers and fries. This is one of those places that the locals won't recommend, simply because they want to keep the delicious food to themselves. If you google search "dive bar with great burger", this place should be the top hit. The bad: Not a family place or a welcoming place for strangers. The regulars own this spot and they know it. The staff also knows it, and "outsiders" often have trouble getting good service. Also, because of the VERY limited "kitchen" area (I use that term VERY loosely), prep times will regularly exceed 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. At least the beer is cold while you wait! The ugly: Just look around you. There are dive bars that are well kept up, dive bars that are designed to look beat up, and there are just plain old beat up dive bars. Nothing pretty about this place. Summary? If you want a fantastic burger, don't care about atmosphere, and have some time to kill, this is THE place for you! read more

They've got a beet, feta, pistachio salad that is soooo good. We've tried half the menu, but judging by the food that leaves the grill, burgers and sliders rein supreme. Oh yeah. The brisket sliders....from brisket that has been slow roasted for over a day. SO good. Pro tip: hit this place up on weekends when Shawn is cooking. Second tip: let Shawn cook up your sliders using his own artistic license. Have a bowl of Mike's chili. It's got some zip. And Michelle runs a very efficient bar. The waitress has a special touch. We didn't for any beverage, but she came to us with a pitcher of iced water with cut lemons and oranges in it. I won't forget her for that. The food was good too. Last night a I and a group of friends went to Cooper Mug. It's a small but cozy restaurant/bar. I ordered a grilled walleye sandwich and sweet potato fries which was delicious. My husband ordered a bourbon burger which of course I had to sample- yummy! Each one of my friends really enjoyed their meals as well. I also liked the large selection of beers. I mean this with all due respect...this place is a dive bar. A dive bar with barely a kitchen from what I could see. A grill behind the bar at most...that being said, the food was quite good. IPA brined wings were delicious and the corned beef Ruben was amazing. Thick slabs of tender corned beef on toasted wheat bread perfectly balanced with sauerkraut and swiss. Also ordered parmesan garlic fries. Heaping mound of fries with generous portion of cheese blended with whole clovers of garlic. Amazing.
