Came here based on a recommendation from a friend to try their burgers. These are large two handed burgers that are very well-made, juicy and very very tasty. The accompanying fries were equally tasty and very well made with a very nice crunchy texture. At $10 for a1/2 lb burger and fries, especially ones made this well, This is a great deal by any standard! I also got two cocktails, an old-fashioned and a margarita. The old-fashioned was just OK in my opinion and needed a tad more sweetness based on how I like my drink. The margarita on the other hand was very good with the base being Hornito's Blanco. Nice! Price was quite fair at $10 a cocktail, but not as great of a deal as the hamburger and fries were. Relative to the business itself and the staff, the business is a no-frills blue-collar type bar/restaurant where it would appear to have a loyal clientle. It appears to be a mix between an Irish bar and a sports bar as there are a lot of TVs scattered about to watch the big game. Staff was quite friendly where the waitresses knew a lot of the customers by name. Again very nice! If you are looking for a good burger bar with inexpensive prices, then look no further than this joint. This may have been my first trip here, but it definitely will not be my last! read more

You could call it a rustic, Irish pub type bar with karaoke and live music. You could call it a dive, which it is (provided you familiarize yourself with the latest definition of "dive"). The food is great for dive bar food. They must be known for their fish & chips. I saw a few people ordering it. Could also be that it was a Friday. My buddy Jerry ordered a club sandwich and when I was done looking at him funny, I tried a bite. It was good. It was VERY good. Pro Tip: If you're into burgers, especially mushroom Swiss burgers. Order this one. With rings. It's huge, it's filling, tastes great and I couldn't stop eating it. I think it was Michelle that handled the heavy lifting and the catering to us. She was a very good sport to deal with us knuckleheads. She'll remember us by the apologetic tip we left her. I'm told they have a talented band here on a Tuesday. We go here when we want a "down and dirty" hamburger... no frills, and it's a total dive bar, but the burgers are exceptional. Tuesdays they have turkey sandwiches on special and this last Tuesday we went and ordered them. Usually they are good (though like their burgers, they are no frills... just cheap white bread, deli turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy) but this time it seemed like we got the remnants and every person in our group had um... "digestive distress" that night or the following morning. Still, not ruling out going there again because their burgers are great. But from now on we will stick to the burgers, onion rings, and deep fried mushrooms... and their draft beer. read more

If you're looking for cheap dive bar for a plate and a drink, this is everything you could possibly what. We stopped here on our way to Pine Knob to fuel up before FFDP show. It was Mexican Wednesday with very cheap tacos and such. Waitresses we super nice. We grabbed the last table. In and out in 35-40 mins and back in our way. Good drinks. Very affordable. This place saved the day Christmas Eve! As many of you are aware we had quite the storm/ freezing temperatures this year In the mist of all that our pipes completely froze we spent two days thawing different sections of the house with no showers for three or running water to do dishes we were exhausted dirty and hungry but it was Christmas Eve as well so had minimal expectations for anywhere being open and being able to get carry out We still had no hot water and really wanted to stop adding to the pile of dishes that had already accumulated so decided to journey out to find something Well long behold weal inn had the open sign on and cars in the parking lot We had minimal expectations being that we had never before been here and it was in fact the night before Christmas When we walked in we noticed there was only one food option being served "Christmas Eve dinner" which made us a bit nervous but we took that jump and boy are we happy we did Each meal had enough to fill us up and save for a second round The bartender / cook were seriously the friendliest people I've met in the service industry in a long time and that says a lot especially on the Eve of one of the biggest holidays of the year Thank you for making our night a little easier and for being so kind read more

What a fun spot! We've had the Weal's Inn on our list of places to try for good burgers. Being St. Patty's Day, we decided to take a little drive, it was a beautiful day, and check out this Irish pub. Wow! They had a tent set up and bar service inside and out. You could tell that this was most certainly the place to be in the area. It was great to see people out enjoying life again. Yesterday I've visited the weal Inn for the first time. What a great spot! While traveling throughout the state of Michigan I always enjoy popping in on a dive bar for lunch. While the outside of this place is A Little outdated, the inside is a perfect spot for a quick sandwich and drink. The Reuben sand which I asked for Was outstanding. However I noticed a lot of the people in there were ordering hot turkey sandwiches. And they looked really good. I will definitely stop back again. read more

Awhile back the new/old owner reached out to me regarding my original 1 star review and invited me back free of charge to experience some of the new changes he was implementing. I appreciated the offer, but wanted to come back on my own dime. I was much happier with my medium Weal burger and fries this time around. Got the deluxe with the Swiss cheese and fries). My burger was giant with a better bun, and I didn't get to finish my whole basket with all the fixings. The burger could have still used a touch more seasoning, but the bartender/waitress brought salt and pepper, ketchup and mustard to do things up to my liking. I waited a little long for a refill on my beer (and was hoping for my Summer Shandy to be a bit colder). After I was re-attended to, I passed on the refill and opted for solid drink. The double Jameson that came with Coke on the side that came after was more than adequate. Decor is the same as I last remember it. Divey in a homey, locals sorta way, but I can get down with that. And sometimes, prefer it. Saw a thing on their TV board where they have $5.50 PBR pitchers and $1.50 Coney's during Tigers games. FYI, the food menu is not expansive. Just the basics here. We always have a great meal at The Weal Inn. We ordered takeout tonight. Their online ordering system is really easy to use, but doesn't communicate all of the information to them. We ordered food around 4:00pm, and when asked when we would like the order to be ready, we selected 5:00p. Apparently, that doesn't get sent to them, so our food was cold when we picked it up. The food was still great. They have the best burger deal anywhere. Their burger is a full half-pound and is only $7. That's a great deal for a freshly made burger on an awesome bun. The thickest, juiciest burgers around, grilled to perfection with lots of choices for toppings, delivered right to my door. I cannot think of a more satisfying burger than The Weal Burger with added bacon, onions, grilled onions, pickles, tomatoes, etc. So delicious! read more

Best burger and beer deal you'll ever get. This is the classic "Hole in the Wall" bar. Awesome bar tenders. The local customers are usually laid back. Throw some darts, sing karaoke, relax and enjoy some of the BEST bar food you can get. My wife and I love sneaking away and having a good time once in awhile at the Weal. read more

The food is great, burger, and especially fish. Staff is friendly, however it's a small building, tough to get a seat sometimes.

Staff has been good every time. Like the karaoke but sometimes later at night the wild ones take the fun out of just grabbing a drink. Who would have thought? The Weal has the WORLDS' BEST BURGERS! Passing along M-59 one day, we saw a sign for the weal special - $3 burgers by 6:00pm.....so, we decided to stop. The burger's are to die for....or live for...they are just amazing! I have had the regular Weal, The Weal with Cheese, and the Weal Swiss and mushroom. Out of this world! Side note: the fries are awesome and so are their Long Island Iced Teas :) Most definitely recommend! This place should be paid a visit by the Travel or Food channel :) read more

Love the Weal! It's local, has great food, a vivacious atmosphere and rotating specials. As per an earlier reviewer, have you even been to an Applebee's lately? Trust me, if your using a place like Applebee's as a better comparison for fare you just go ahead and enjoy that super original quesadilla burger I'll stick with the Weal's great burgers or prime rib. I've been there twice now. The first time I had tortilla soup...delicious! Second time around I ordered what my dad ordered the first time. Corned Beef sandwich. Sitting at the bar right now. This review is as fresh as can be. As I pulled up, the front of my car hit the cement block at the front of my parking spot(whoops). As I got out of my car a guy was standing outside smoking, and walked inside as soon as I did. He walked straight behind the bar and started talking to the bartender while pointing and looking at me. He probably thought I was drunk, but that's neither here nor there. I immediately ordered food from the woman behind the bar. The guy that walked in the same time as I did started making my food (didn't wash his hands after smoking). The bartender didn't ask me what I wanted with my food, I had to tell her. After I got my food she didn't check on me or follow up. I ordered a burger medium with cheddar and bacon. My burger was well done with American cheese and bacon. Not that big of a deal, listening is hard, I know. As I'm eating she puts a bill in front of me. No one else has one in front of them. Just me. I start to notice the slow, overly friendly tone the bartender has with me. She thinks I'm wasted. I'm paying my tab after one beer and my food. This place is a dive, and no wonder it's dead everytime I've been in here. The bartender is too preoccupied talking to her friend about how ridiculous it is to complain about service instead of checking on me or giving me adequate service. Nothing fancy to be sure. The food is spot on, the service was homey, welcoming, and friendly. We were treated like a "regular". I say that because many bars have a really BAD habit of treating new customers like strangers. I've never understood that! This place is old school friendly. My only critique is the limited menu. The place could definitely add a few items, as the food they have is on the mark. Also, there's virtually nothing "Irish" about this place, especially in terms of food.
