    LOBSTER BACON FLATBREAD
    Carolyn E.

What a beautiful meal and a lively spot in Plymouth - the ambiance is perfect for date night or a night out with friends or family - it was relaxing and fun. We had a 7pm reservation; we were greeted warmly and seated after only about a 5-minute wait in the lovely lobby next to the fireplace. The food was delicious and plated beautifully - my seafood trio was cooked to perfection. Moist, tender sea bass and scallop, perfectly seasoned and delicious. A nicely seared shrimp with cajun seasoning. Yum. The risotto had such nice flavor and texture - creamy, lemony, yummy. The carrot puree was velvety, smooth and delicious. I felt that $42 for this special was well worth it. The lobster flatbread had lots of lobster and the onion soup was full of flavor and cheesy goodness. I maybe would have liked more broth and less bread, but nothing to complain about. Service was excellent, cocktails are well mixed and pretty, wine selection is good. What's nice about the dinner menu is that you can spend a little or a lot - you don't necessarily have to spend $100 on your meal and you'll be satisfied. I want to return just to try the duck meatballs, which sounded so interesting. The only slight negative is that it was really hot in the restaurant. I'm sure the ladies in pretty sleeveless dresses appreciated it, though. But I wouldn't recommend a sweater - I had on a fairly light long sleeved top and jeans and I was roasting. All in all, quite a lovely evening out.

Went here for my birthday and will definitely be returning. The menu has so many great options for a steakhouse. The staff was amazing. Food/drinks very good. Only downside was due to the summer open air there were some bugs flying around and our food did take a bit longer than expected.

This was a nice restaurant in plymouth area within hotel. The food was good. Nice flavors overall and high quality ingredients.

The fact that this place is all non profit is just amazing to me, the building is stunning (former Catholic seminary) turned golf course , hotel and restaurants. The food was amazing and the service was as friendly and prompt as can be. Giving back and eating great food is a win win in my book, the music was on point as well.

This is a truly elegant steakhouse. We're here from out of town celebrating an exciting graduation and this was the honoree's choice. The grounds of the restaurant are lovely and the table settings are elegant. They had a variety of wonderful dishes on their menu and I was tempted to get the sea scallops because they sounded so succulent, but decided on the Vaca Viejo Ribeye steak since this is a steakhouse and steaks are their specialty. The flavor was wonderful and they cooked it to perfection just the temperature that I like, but it was disappointing that the steak was stringy as they left a lot of gristle on it that was basically unchewable. That was the only disappointing part of the meal, to pay these high prices for a steak that was partially inedible! Everything else was wonderful! For appetizers we had the Five Cheese Board with seasonal cheeses, gourmet crackers and charcuterie. We also had the fried calamari with pickled vegetables and the truffle fries. All were wonderful! Along with my Vaca Vieja Ribeye steak, I had a Caesar salad and a really good French onion soup. Two others in our party shared a humongous tomahawk steak which was pricey but they said was excellent. The presentation of all the food was so elegant and beautiful. Service was very good for our party of 14. They even threw in a complimentary mini "M" cake (stands for U of Michigan) for our graduate! That was a very nice gesture on the part of the restaurant!

I need to begin by mentioning the excellent service we received at the hostess stand, bar, and restaurant. The bartender (Johnny B) and table service team (Bridget and Ryan) were all great - friendly, attentive, and helpful. We had one hiccup with a cocktail removed in the restaurant too early, but they made it right. Ryan was especially helpful and funny. The four of us arrived early to have drinks at a table in the bar and truly enjoyed this time. Johnny B has several delicious cocktails named after him, and he purposely waited on us. He was great. I have to say I was a little stunned after seeing the bill. I know it's Michigan but $21 for Angels Envy on the rocks is ridiculous, and $18 for a Hendrix martini and $20 for an Old Fashion is certainly on the higher side of what I've experienced elsewhere. The Pama razz and the angelic blossom both recommended. We began with the calamari and the cornbread appetizers. Both were endorsed by the server team, but we felt both were disappointing. The cornbread was ok, but lacked the normal cornbread texture and had too much sugar in it. The calamari was lightly breaded, but really bombed without flavor. It was really disappointing. I would not order either again. Three of us had the wedge salads following the appetizers. They offer both small and large sizes. I have to say it was probably the best wedge salad I have ever had. Just delicious with plenty of blue cheese, bacon, and tomatoes. I highly recommend it. For dinner, we tried the halibut, the prime ribeyes, and the Angus fillet. All were good and cooked to order, but honestly nothing special on the flavor. I really question whether we got prime ribeyes vs angus choice. I'm very familiar with the difference in flavor, and this one was thin and did not have a buttery flavor and had a bunch of gristle. The 2nd ribeye was thicker and seemed fine. I wish I had gone with the 8oz prime filet. We also decided to get a side of truffle fries, which was easily enough to share for four people and delicious.

    Over salted chips and dip

Very disappointing...way overpriced...stick with DTP restaurants. Food: best thing was the chips and dip. Although super overly salty. We had a very overcooked slightly burned hamburger ( took too long to send back) Shrimp cocktail was literally bright yellow and tasted borderline spoiled, sent back didn't replace. Brussels sprouts; so so overdone and burned tasting. Wedge salad; how can you screw up? Dressing tasted like straight mayo sprinkled with dill. Sour 6 oz filet; good served with literally 3 green beans. Wine; overpriced but expected. $20 for a glass of Sancerre ( can buy bottle for $30). Service: had a 5:15 reservation. Was totally empty in dining area. Was seated with dinner menu only. Had to separately ask for drink menu. Separately ask for kids menu. Separately ask for special menu!! There was no going over ANYTHING. No recommendations suggestions. I had even commented how excited I was at the supposed gluten free options but that went ignored. Saw other tables received bread service ( maybe they paid)? But was never offered. Had to flag down to order. Flag down to ask for updates on food. Flag down to pay... which then a dessert menu was offered? ( which we wanted but knew it'd take forever) Was over a two hour slow slow very inattentive experience. But our water glasses were constantly filled by support staff! Ambience: beautiful. Bar area too. Will never return or recommend.

Great food. I had brunch. Risotto was amazing. Waffles and chicken. Perfect! Service was great also. 90 min from reservation time and we strolled the garden and the church. Beautiful stain glass. Ceiling and chandeliers. Bell tower rang at noon. Wonderful 90 min experience on Sunday.

Made a reservation for Brunch via Open Table at the last minute. It's a very chilled vibe with smooth jazz softly playing in the background. Dropped in for brunch. The chicken and waffles were good. The chicken was hot the waffles not so much but was still tasty. My friends had pancakes w bacon (very good), corn beef hash was excellent. My friends went on and on endlessly about how great the coffee was. So if you're a coffee lover this is your place. Our server Elias was a polite and professional young man. Everyone provided excellent service. I will definitely be back. Maybe next time I'll sit on the patio.

I really wish I could give half stars as I would give 5ive three and half stars as my hubby thought the experience was 4 stars and I would rate 3 stars...but given this is my review, my rating appears. Here is how our visit shook out: Ambiance: 5 stars Hostess: 2 stars (I said the restaurant name wrong and she got snippy with me) Server: 4 or 5 stars. Friendly. Knowledgeable. Kept our table clear if unnecessary items, including my hand sanitizer wipes. Sorry guy, I am a germaphobe even before covid so I did use a few throughout the meal. Appetizer: 4 for the calamari. It was not the typical calamari rings wit dipping sauce - which is fine with us, we love all kinds of calamari. This was calamari strips tossed in a spicy tomato "sauce" and it had some capers and olives in it. Oh my mouth is watering just writing this review. To me, the sauce was a tad too spicy but hubby loved it. Food selection: 3, maybe 4 stars. This is a steakhouse so a lot of steak offerings and that's fine with me. However, I personally struggled with the menu as so much of the menu contains dairy, which I cannot eat. I tried to keep on my happy face but was very bummed looking at the menu. Our server checked with the chef and said my dairy free option for the side would be saffron rice or double the root vegetable. Not sure why I could not get a side salad or even French fries (I heard a nearby table order a sandwich that came with fries) or even some roasted Brussels sprouts, which were an appetizer...guessing it all had cheese or nobody wanted to prepare it. Small tangent here - restaurants go out of their way to offer gluten free options but dairy allergies are much more prevalent but the dairy free alternatives are boring. Wanna guess what dessert was available to me - raspberry sorbet. Nothing creative there...it's the equivalent of a dairy free person being offered a saltine cracker for dessert. Food quality and taste: 4 stars. The steak was a definite 5 but the rice cake was a 2 (dry). Would I come back - not if the choice was mine.

After pushing back the time for our reservation twice, we finally made it! Aidan ordered the Salmon Risotto entree and I got the Asiago Baci Pasta dish. We absolutely loved our food. The baci noodles are filled with some type of creamy filling and are so unique. Aidan said his salmon was cooked well and his risotto was soft. We also ordered the calamari appetizer which had an amazing white wine sauce. Everything was so incredibly flavorful. We had a challenging time choosing because the whole menu sounded so good. I appreciated the diversity of options and unique flavor combinations. No desert for us because we were full, but I was intrigued by the desert menu and would go back to try it! They have indoor and "outdoor" seating (with heaters) and low light for an intimate and peaceful atmosphere. Our waitress was friendly and gave us plenty of time to order. The meatballs in the spaghetti dish were delicious. Flavorful and not dried out. The sauce tasted like it had been cooked with love. I also liked the short rib. The sauce had been elevated with some wine, and the meat was tender and rich. The accompanying potatoes were so creamy. I would order both dishes again. We each got a dessert. My husband got the tiramisu and I got the chocolate cake. I guess the tiramisu was just ok. I loved the chocolate cake. On our second visit, we tried the Rigatoni Caprino and the Chicken Marsala Florentine. Of the two, we liked the rigatoni better. It had that super red sauce on it. The sausage was on point, and the goat cheese complimented the rest of the dish so well. The marsala was good, though my husband I agreed we had both had better. The sauce just lacked something. My husband wasn't that impressed with the Crème Brûlée cheesecake, and wouldn't order it again.

There was no question, I would see my friend. We had selected Chicane earlier, eager to try the new restaurant in a familiar setting, by the train tracks on Starkweather. This location was formerly Station 885, a restaurant my friend and I visited years earlier, when a toy train ran along tracks around the perimeter, delighting her young daughter. We arrived early, scoring a great table with a view of the large bar, lounge, and stage. The restaurant is glamorous, with gorgeous lighting and attractive furnishings. Musicians entertained the eager and appreciative audience. There are so few places that provide this level of entertainment and hospitality. I had already previewed the menu and was anticipating the meal ahead. The duck sounded amazing and is almost always my first choice. However, the short ribs were tempting, as were the scallops in a coconut curry broth. I went with my first instinct, the duck, paired with a French Onion soup. The medium-rare duck breast was perfectly prepared; I liked the sweet potato puree and slaw accompaniments. Incidentally, the portion was huge. My friend enjoyed her braised short rib, which was on the 2-course supper menu, available before 6pm. For dessert, I went with the chocolate cube. Unfortunately, I didn't even see the banana parfait, which was mentioned in several of the reviews here. Oh, well, I was content. The dessert had a bold, intense chocolate flavor, which paired well with the ice cream's more subtle flavors. I also appreciated the different textures on the plate. Service was fantastic: professional and helpful. Unfortunately, my car died during the cold, and TripleA was unable to help, given the number of people/vehicles in a similar situation. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to find someone (the Executive Chef, who was in the middle of service) to provide a jump; I am so grateful for the gracious hospitality.
