Love the breakfast sandwiches (Rise & Shine) and the friendly atmosphere! Plus the pun rocks make me smile. Brave the construction to support a wonderful local establishment with a clever name! Totally worth it!

Still great. Tons of seating. Friendly, homey, community atmosphere. Family-run small business. Update: They have a notice right now near the register that they're raising prices August 1, but the price of everything has gone up since they last priced things and it is more than overdue. Parking is still somewhat limited and torn up due to construction on the property out-lot, but that's not this café's fault at all.

This was as fast as I could get picture.... Half home lol. Milky Way espresso drink and 2 cake parfaits. 1 ) s'mores and 2) salted caramel. The girls are already begging me for another. Big and open, the baristas are kind, the coffee is delicious and all the food is home made! My kid said it was the best thing she's ever had!!so delicious! You should definitely come to Brewed Awakenings!

I always look forward to making the drive to Saline for errands because it means I can hit up Brewed Awakenings for some great coffee and a scone or muffin or a sandwich if it's lunchtime. This trip I had a soy vanilla latte but next time I might try one of their summer specials, a honey lavender latte. The coffee is excellent and so are all the sandwiches, wraps and baked goods but what really makes Brewed Awakenings special is their commitment to community. They make their place a great spot to hang out and meet up for small groups or a go-to to get away and study or work (there's wifi and plenty of space to spread out and separate). Find a sunny spot next to the big windows in summer or cozy up next to the fireplace in winter. There are often fliers tacked up about local events and they consistently collect goodies for military care packages.

My husband and I went in a few minutes before the cafe closing to kill time while waiting for our daughter to get out of a movie. As a RNY patient who can't drink whole milk or sugar, I was thrilled to find that they had hazelnut sugar free syrup, so I ordered a skim milk sugar free latte, and an oatmeal cookie for my daughter to go. Unfortunately it was definitely not what I received. I watched the young lady with pink hair pour regular vitamin D milk in the mug, and it did not taste like the torani sugar free syrup that I have on my counter. I had my husband try it to verify, which he said didn't taste like sugar free syrup, either, but maybe the coffee covered up the aftertaste. (He only drinks regular coffee.) I had him go ask to verify they used sugar free, which she stated she did. After getting sick after I got home, I can verify that it probably wasn't. It's my own fault for not having her remake it - she stated to my husband she would, but I trusted it was in fact sugar free, and I didn't want to have to wait since we had to pick up my daughter. If I ever go back, I'd probably just get regular coffee. It is a cute little spot, and isn't too far from work

My Delizioso Sandwich at Brewed Awakenings Cafe

I always enjoy going to Brewed Awakenings. It is a convenient stop for us on the way to or from the airport. The coffee here is good and my wife particularly enjoys the flavored coffees they offer. The food is actually very good as well, as we often have dinner or lunch here. Their soups are excellent, particularly the mushroom brie. The sandwiches are likewise tasty and there is a very good selection from which to choose. I particularly like the Delizioso. The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual. The dining area is a pleasant place to sit, eat, drink and surf. They have occasional open-mic nights with local talent for those looking for something more lively. The prices are quite fair and the staff are very pleasant. It is worth a stop if you are in the area and want a coffee and/or a light bite.

I never would have known about this adorable cafe hidden in a strip mall off of Michigan Avenue if not for Yelp. Lots of indoor seating, WiFi, very affordable coffee drinks, a local authors corner with books and some other gift things available that support Saline organizations or schools. Not sure if anyone ever plays the piano in the corner but it's clear this is a business that is invested in its local community. This is my new go-to for working when I need a break from the home office!

I like the whole experience and there are so many choices. Being a new Boba tea customer, the staff was very helpful in helping me select a drink. I chose Tiger as a base with Thai and black tea. I like Chai spice, and Thai was a similar taste. There are many toppings to add, and multiple can be added for a truly custom drink. I chose a favorite caramel and the Boba to complete the drink. I went up to the counter to place my order to get advice and suggestions. The kiosk would be handy also. I like the fact that the drink was sealed with plastic, and the straw is thick due to the Boba. The business is clean and spacious, and I could see how it would be good for students completing coursework on laptops or gatherings of friends and coworkers. It is in a strip mall near the Saline Emagine and would be a good place pre and post movie to gather. Thanks Quikly for a great first time experience

But none of that is why I'm here... I stopped in on my way to work yesterday to get a cup of coffee and decided I'd better write a review about what I got. Many of the reviews below mention the great coffee that Zingerman's provides. But as a coffee drinker of 30 years, I can confidently say Zingerman's roasts the MOST BITTER coffee I've ever had. I guess it's a product for connoisseurs, but I am a little disappointed they don't have a normal coffee that tastes good. They only have burnt tasting, extraordinarily bitter coffees that make a British IPA beer taste watery. What's up with that? Why no mellow coffee at Zingerman's?? Also, if the cream curdles as soon as I add it to the coffee, I'm grossed out. If I want curds in my coffee, I'll dump some cottage cheese in there. What I prefer is a nice, smooth, creamy cup of drip coffee. There's really nothing better!

"RooRoast!"…read more Waiting for the light to change at Main and Stadium, I look down at the clock. Seven minutes to five. "What the heck. I'll call." "Hey Siri, call Roos Roast." My heart races a little. I'd been trying to get over for a coffee all day and now they are about to close. I blurt out my ask. "...any way you could just leave a coffee outside on the picnic table. I could slip the money under the door?" "Don't worry about it." Kyra says. "Just knock. I'll make it right now." "Thank you so much." 5:02 pm: I zoom into the parking lot, jump out of the car, run up to the door and knock. The door swings open and there she is...my coffee angel; coffee in hand with a smile. I know she is trying to get out of there. I grab the coffee, shove some money with a good tip into her hand. "Thank you so much. I'll write about it." I yell back. It's taken me a couple of weeks but herein lies my humble expression of gratitude to Kyra, the one who had the where with all to stop and ask herself: Who's in charge here, the clock or my heart? I love everything about RoosRoast; the music, the art, the bulletin board, the garden, and especially the relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to stop and have a chat with someone in line or the lovely people who make you really good coffee. Did I mention the really good coffee? All of this run by the renewable energy of the sun. I learned from a young person (I'm 70) in line one day that the buzz word in commerce right now, is "frictionless"; luring us to fly even faster through our precious moments without obstruction. No time to chat or stop and connect. Oh my gosh! If we don't have each other, what else is there? As Ann Arbor drifts away from the townie town it once was, RoosRoast stands defiant; determined to hold space for the slow down, the slow talk, the long pull. I always leave RR happier and more at peace than when I arrived. Thank you Kyra and RoosRoast
