First time going to this sub shop. You can make it "your way" or you can order their fixed menu subs. I ordered the GodFather. It was really tasty, you can specify the type of bread and condiments, small 5", Medium 7" and large 10" sized sandwich. You can also get the sandwich cold or heated. Decent spot, nice and clean inside after. Apparently they renovated a couple years ago. Don't think I'd be back though, as there's nothing super unique in their sub menu, and for the salad I got, I was shocked at how little protein was actually in it. I got the buffalo chicken salad, which essentially was just a couple handfuls of spinach leaves for the most part, packaged sauces to put on it, and then maybe about five small pieces of chicken in the entire thing. Pretty disappointing. The sub version of the buffalo chicken at least seemed to have a better amount of chicken in it. read more

Inconsistent quality and experience, and very, very, very, very slooooooow. This time I ordered a Turkey Club. I didn't make any other specifications other than provolone cheese and expected a sandwich with all the advertised toppings. All I got was a bun with turkey, bacon and a slice of provolone cheese (which was the cheese I requested.) I would have gone back to the counter for a new properly prepared sandwich but I was with friends who already had their food and I didn't want to wait another half hour in a nearly empty restaurant to get the sandwich that I had actually ordered. I think that I'll be spending more time and money at Jersey Mike's where the quality is more consistent and the food comes up more quickly. read more

An important error was made on one sub, and had to be remade, after a lot of delays involving the manager being brought in. In the grand scheme of sandwich chains, DiBella's is pretty good. I will note that DiBella's is family-owned and is currently only in 5 states in the Midwest/Northeast (Connecticut, NY, Pennsylvania, Ohio and this is the lone store in Michigan!) Anyways, there was soo much community sadness when this location burned down, and so much JOY when it re-opened. So, naturally I've been curious about the hype. I would say it's more on-par with Jersey Mike's in terms of quality and price, so it's no $5 footlong but you'll get better/more food. I ordered online via the website and it was ready for pick up at my specified time. I also joined their Rewards program for a free 5" sandwich! We had the: *Italian Meatball (Delicious beef & pork meatballs slow-cooked in marinara sauce with melted mozzarella cheese and shredded parmesan cheese on a fresh-baked everything roll.) - Although I ordered as-is, it came on a sesame roll rather than everything but that's fine with me! The first thing I noticed was the bread/roll. Quite a bit of bread but at least it tasted good and had a nice fresh baked texture to it. They apparently bake fresh bread at least twice daily so that every roll is "no more than a few hours out of the oven." Also they use a dough that is aged for a minimum of 16 hours and each roll is scored and seasoned by hand. Love it. The meatballs were really tender. I thought I wanted more marinara sauce, but the folks at DiBella's have the ratio right -- it was perfect because it kept it from getting soggy and messy. *Old Fashioned (Turkey, ham & Genoa salami with lettuce, tomato, onion, yellow mustard and mozzarella cheese with DiBella's Famous Oil Dressing on a fresh-baked sesame roll.) - Ordered it for my husband and he had it the next day for lunch, so we got the Famous Oil Dressing on the side. Not a huge fan that this Famous Oil dressing has sugar (why??!) and soybean oil so we omitted it for a homemade Olive Oil and Red Wine Vinegar concoction. All the ingredients still tasted super fresh though and again, no extra moisture/sogginess. I still also really liked the sesame roll on this. I'm totally adding DiBella's into my rotation for a quick meal when I'm in this area of town! read more

After a long time of being closed it was so nice to see they reopened! I'm giving it a 3 star bc of wait time. We literally waited for 30minutes to get one Sub. We saw that they were prioritizing Togo orders online orders, which is not fair for the ones that are dining in. The quality of the bread was nice and tasty, but the amount of meat in our Cheese steak was not up to snuff. Also the taste of the macaroni salad was average. I have no idea how this place has 4 stars. We normally get Jersey Mikes when we want subs- simple and basic but good quality. These were terrible. Flabby, gross subs with zero flavor. Old veggies. Asked for extra meat and didn't get it. And mine had a hair in it. Soggy pickles that taste like plastic. Flat soda. Stale bagged chips. Jersey Mikes is 100x better. THEY ARE BACK! REOPENED SINCE 5/15/24!!!!! OMG. I'm so glad DiBellas is back. I love their cheesesteaks here. Godfather subs, too. We swung by shortly after reopening day and had ourselves a feast, complete with their awesome mini chocolate chip cookies for dessert. The sandwiches were all delicious. We had cheesesteak, Dagwood, Godfather, and tuna between the four of us. Hot and cold. Just about every topping and three different types of bread. All of it, every bit, was delicious. Glad to see DiBella's is back! Think the store burned down in an accidental fire what feels like ages ago now, and wasn't sure if they were ever going to come back. They were one of our favorite sub/sandwich options for a casual Friday lunch. Got the Godfather sub, as is, grilled. Added chips and a drink. Husband got the Dagwood. We thoroughly enjoyed! I like that you can get sandwiches 5", 7", 10", or 14" which allows you to get just what you want. Not sure what it is exactly about DiBella's that makes them different, maybe the bread... maybe their bread/meat/filling ratios... maybe their "famous" oil dressing? In any case, we love! We ordered for pickup from their site directly (less expensive than ordering via other apps) and it was ready in about 15min during the lunch rush on a Friday. read more

REAL DELI SUBS ON REAL BREAD!!! If you have ever enjoyed east coast subs - (think New Jersey near the coast), this is the only place I know of in Michigan that is reminiscent of those great subs. These people do not know what they are doing. I'm in Michigan visiting and I looked them up on-line and saw the sun I wanted I walked in and order a specialized Sub the Uncle Louie. They are set up like Panera bread where you can't see them make your food. So when I get back and open my bag, They gave me bread and meat nothing else was on the sub, just bread and meat. I want you guys to cover this in DETAIL at your post shift debriefing!!! I suggest you post a placard at the shelving unit reminding associates to check for drinks with every order. My second time eating DiBellas sandwich. I ordered online and never was notified to pick up. I finally went inside and my order was sitting on pickup station. I will never understand this place and the good reviews it gets. I love subs. They're like my go-to for lunch. I love fresh bread, which they bake on site. How do you mess this up THIS badly? I ate here once when I moved to this part of town. Had the Godfather on Everything bread. Bland, sweaty meat and cheese atop dry, textureless bread. Macaroni salad from a bucket. I swore I'd never go back, and I didn't. Well, stupid me, I saw the new ad campaign they're running to promote their cheesesteaks. Cheesesteaks are my favorite subs. It's a win-win. They're also borderline impossible to screw up. Somehow, they screwed this cheesesteak up. Again, the bread was dreadful. The steak and cheese was flavorless and dry. The peppers were slimy and bitter. And it was WAY more expensive than I remember it being. You could literally go anywhere else in Ann Arbor for subs and be getting better value. Jersey Mike's. I used to drive by this place all the time... and it's only like five minutes away from my home. I finally went today to meet with old friend from college... I guess it's one of his favorite place to visit when his in town. Not knowing what to order and being a first timer, I checked the reviews on Yelp :) I got the necessary information I needed and drove over. I walked in and the place was empty... I think they do a lot of business during lunch... but within five minutes I was there, more people started to come for dinner. I ordered the large godfather, hot with mayo and hot mustard... added some vegetables, hot peppers... left the oi out. If you order the hot, you need to wait few minutes while they cook the meat. One thing I did find out, breads will never the the same size, the amount of meat will never be the same as well... it all depends on who is taking your order and cooking the meat. I went with white bread with sesame... I found a new sub joint that I like now... and it's very close to my home... so I need to watch out :) Give this place a try... try the small version of the subs until you decide on your favorite sub. read more

Horrible Service! Food was great, that's the reason for a 2 star rating. But the service was awful! No greeting, no questions, just a blank stare really. After ordering , I didn't even want to say anything at all. So the rest of the transaction was silent. Until I asked if I needed to pay for the sub. When I was at the register , I stood there for maybe 5 minutes and nobody noticed me . I should've walked out.. once cashing out, the young lady with the attitude was the one who worked the register. She Didn't ask if I wanted to make it a meal, no attempt to up sell, didn't tell me the total, I just saw it on the register so I swiped to end this situation faster. No good evening or good night or anything. The place had maybe 3 people sitting . It was empty! Yet all the tables were dirty! As I cleaned a table to sit at, I saw the young lady that helped me leaving. Maybe that's why she couldn't care less about me? Alright , unstable, but it's only 6pm on a Saturday and there's a team of people behind the counter and nobodies cleaning tables? Terrible team, management , and customer service! The subs here are amazing! Inside it's your standard submarine sandwich concept counter restaurant setup. Pick your sub, pick your bread and then pick your toppings. Have it cold or toasted. The sandwiches are very hearty and a little bread-y (in a good way, because their bread is fresh and tasty) and decently priced for a good quality sub. Service was friendly. After visiting one Sunday around lunch time, I was not very impressed. We were able to get in before the lunch crowd, which was nice. The atmosphere is a little intimidating if you haven't been there before- if you don't know what you want, it is a bit awkward to stand there while the servers wait. I got a warmed roast beef with onions and special oil on the side. The oil wasn't really my thing, but It was alright. I had to stick a bunch of mustard on it to enjoy it. I did really enjoy the cookies- chocolate chip were so good! I recommend looking at the menu before you go, it is kinda like Starbucks where if you don't know the menu well, it's a little overwhelming with lots of options. There aren't a ton of options for pregnant women their either- not a lot of naturally warmed sandwiches FYI. read more
