I had a bit of a break in between shifts so I was looking for a place to grab a quick lunch while in town, and Biercamp came up on Yelp. This is a super cute spot that specializes in smoked meat and sausages... yes please. We ordered at the counter and the employees were very friendly and helpful with great suggestions. I got the Michigan asparagus, onion, and cheddar brat, and Nate got the currywurst. We also got a cup of chili to share. We got a buzzer for our order and then sat down in the heated outdoor space. They have a lot of outdoor seating and some firepits, so I really want to come back in the fall or summer. Our food was done quickly and we had fun picking stuff from the toppings bar. They had chopped onions, jalapenos, banana peppers, sauerkraut etc. and lots of sauces. I LOVED the brat. It was easy to bite and not super snappy which I didn't mind. The bun was perfectly toasted and the flavor combination was delicious. Kind of like a broccoli cheddar vibe. I had some of the currywurst which was also delicious! The chili was packed with brisket and pulled pork, and was really tasty. There is a bar so you can enjoy a beer with your sausage, but we just grabbed some cold drinks from the cooler. They even have ice cream and floats!! There are lots of great items for sale as well, including lots of pickled things, frozen pierogi, meat sticks and jerky, and they even have Trenary Toast (#iykyk). I am already planning my next visit to try more brats and the brisket sandwich. This is such a great concept and I really wish we had a place like this in Grand Rapids. read more

Here on a very snowy day after Christmas. The guys behind the counter were welcoming and very knowledgeable about all their products. Give us taste of beer till we find the one that suited each of us just perfectly. You After looking at the menu up on the chalkboard, we ordered a smoked brisket sandwich a Michigan cherry kielbasa,, a jalapeño and cheddar kielbasa and a chili cheddar bratwurst. We also ordered a side of onion rings and loaded tater tots. We each had a beer that we enjoyed. When our pager went off, we went inside to pick up our order and peruse the multiple condiments that they had. I fell in love with the curry ketchup! It's amazing. They also had a jalapeño mustard, ranch, regular ketchup, a couple different, other mustard, onions, pickles, and a variety of condiments. We sat out in the covered front area that had space heaters and flannel blankets to keep us warm on this blustery day. There is also a building next door that has a bathroom and is heated. You notice that I keep talking about the heat. It was a very blustery winter day! But we had a blast and really enjoyed all the food and the atmosphere. They have carved out a nice campus to enjoy their delicious and uniquely flavored brats. Today I got the blueberry garlic brat and topped it with hot honey and hot relish. It was delicious. Passed by this spot and the sign caught our attention so we had to give it a try. Cozy spot with lots of seats with a heated patio or outside without. I ordered the smoked kielbasa on a toasted bun and a side of fries. Lots of condiments to choose from, from basic mustard to curry ketchup, relishes and peppers. Our cashier was friendly and helpful. This was the best pulled pork I have ever had. Admittedly, I am not an expert and usually shy away from pulled pork and red meat for that matter because it often upsets my stomach, especially if it's poor quality. I had the backwoods tots: crispy tater tots topped with homemade bbq pulled pork, pickles, onions, coleslaw & sweet jalapeno mustard. Honestly, I went into this not excited at all but one bite turned that all around. It was insanely delicious, fresh, yet somehow not heavy or greasy. The bbq sauce wasn't too sweet either. I even ate my leftovers cold the next day and it was still so satisfying. And the tots on the bottom of the massive pile wasn't soggy, even the next day. AND no stomach ache! My husband had a brat burger and others in our group had some of the other brat options. Overall, everyone seemed happy with their lunch. The inside looks like a little market. For hot food and drinks, you order at the counter and receive a buzzer. We also got some things to go: queso, pickles, and jalapeno and cheddar smoked meat sticks. Hidden gem, I said it! It's has the feels of a great place to visit on a fall day or even a slight snow fall. There are fire pits and seating between the two buildings. One building has food including bbq pork, brats, onion rings and so much more. There are packaged summer sausage, brats, bacon, sauces, dips and more to choose from. Can't forget the beer and cider options as well. The other building had tables and a bathroom for people to relax inside outside of the elements. Since the last time I wrote a review update they've added a lot more more seating outside with picnic tables, larger dining tables with umbrellas, etc making it great for groups or solo diners alike. It's also super kid friendly and they even have a sandbox with toys to help keep the kiddos occupied while the adults enjoy a libation and a brat. The food, as always, is top notch. My most recent visit I went for the chili dog which was delicious and HUGE. One is more than enough. I also commend their buns for maintaining the structural integrity of the dog even though it was loaded up with chili and melted cheese. Of course we split tots (my favorite tots EVER), and a soft pretzel. After our meal we went back inside and grabbed a pack of brats (mango, garlic, and bacon) to throw on the grill this weekend along with some buns, whitefish dip, and a Cold Comfort s'mores ice cream bar for dessert (OMG SO GOOD) for good measure. My husband also loves root beer so we got a howler of their offering (which they have on tap!) to go with us. Love this place beyond measure and we're so lucky in Ann Arbor to have them! read more

I can't believe I haven't been here after living in Ann Arbor all these years! This is your classic beer and bratwurst restaurant with incredible outdoor seating. There are lights outside and it feels like you're at a backyard bbq outing. The inside of the shop has toppings for you to put on your hot dog, and they also sell sausages and other toppings. The cashier was also super welcoming and gave us lots of descriptions of what was on the menu. He was excited to welcome us in! Inside where you order is a small market where you can buy all sorts of jerky along with frozen versions of the sausage you can order off the menu. They also sell many of the sauces that are in their condiment bar. We ordered a $2, 12 ounce root beer tasted amazing pretty sure it's homemade. Promisingly, they said on the phone that people were out on their covered patio in shirt sleeves. Indeed, it was fine. A tiny bit drafty but not really cold at all and they had nice overhead heaters. The food was outstanding. They have a phenomenal selection of meat and even some vegetarian options. The draft beer offerings were also good --something for everyone-- from dark porters to wheat beers. For lunch, I had the cheddar-jalapeno kielbasa. It was amazing in that the cheddar components were up front and not in the background. We also sampled the onion rings and the stuffed tater tots. They had a luxurious toppings bar with numerous relishes and sauces including a delicious home made ranch. We have been fans of Bier Camp since the first month they opened. Went to school at U of M, graduated in 91, and come back for the home football/hockey games ever since I graduated. I let them know about your expansion. They were disappointed that you're still not proving shipping because they agree, your meats are incredible. But I shared my secret. They have a great toppings bar along with some great sauces to add to your order too. And a great setup wirh picnic tables and patio tables for outside dining, as well as an area to eat indoors. They also have a store for which they sell their meats, smoked whitefish spread, and other items. I purchased some true Canadian Peameal Bacon. This product is extremely difficult to find in the US. I have only been able to find it in Toronto, as well as in some other parts of Canada. I have literally contemplated driving back to the St. Lawrence Market in Toronto on many occasions just to eat a peameal bacon sandwich. I've had some of their brats at home from Vestergaard Farms as they partner and use their meats, but it was our first time at the storefront. We ordered: *BRAT BURGER $13 (A BRATWURST BURGER PATTY, SERVED ON A GRILLED BRIOCHE BUN W/LETTUCE, ONION, TOMATO, PICKLE & CHEESE) - they usually have a couple different types of brat burgers but they were out of the one I wanted so I got to the Philly Cheesesteak Brat burger. It was super cheesy and yummy! *CHILI CHEESE TOTS (our crispy tater tots topped with our homemade chili, shredded cheese, scallions, sour cream & pickled jalapenos) - Their chili is AWESOME and it's delish on some deep fried tots. It gets soggy so we had no choice but to eat it all right there and then. Ha whereas I took home half my burger and it was still delish the next day! *SOFT PRETZEL - This pretzel was BOMB. Happy to have found a good pretzel spot when it's not football season (usually I love the m-shaped ones at the big house!) *6HR PULLED PORK SANDWICH (our house-made, slow smoked pulled pork, bbq sauce, sliced pickles & onions on a brioche bun) - this was my husband's order and he ate it all! I cannot believe it's taken us so long to go to Biercamp. It's an overlap of so many things our family loves: meat, beer, patio dining, and a toppings bar. They have a really unique selection of smoked meats or sausages. I had their green chile bratwurst, but there were about four other options I thought sounded amazing. Once your order is ready, they have a sprawl of sauces, peppers, relishes, etc to adorn your meal. I liked the simplicity of the meat on its own, but we were able to give our tater tot pile some pizazz. Their beer was also really solid. We lucked out with a gorgeous day, so we had a great time dining outside. Despite it being April, I ordered a summer ale to complete a really stellar meal. We'll be back! read more

I pretty much only go to places that are dog friendly, b/c my dog and I are a package deal... so love this place for that! The only issue is that there aren't many indoor seats (they did add some in the house next door), and I wish that they would run the food out rather than provide pagers. The side of loaded tater tots were equally as good with the brisket chili, cheese, sour cream, etc and more than enough for 2 people. Food was served fast, brought to our table. Wry friendly staff. Seating is outdoor in a large, comfortably heated tent with lots of nice picnic tables and wrought iron tables/chairs. Looks like this will be great place to visit when the weather warms up. In addition to serving sandwiches, hot dogs, sides, and beer on tap, this place is also a store which sells their own butchered meats, smoked meats, incl wagyu, in-house made sausages (many varieties including vegetarian) and different types of cheeses. They also have in-house made jams, sauces, rubs, spices, and smoked nuts which we really liked. You could build a really great charcuterie board just from the items they sell. I assume they had deli meats somewhere but wasn't looking for them. There's lots of items in the store that we didn't get a chance to explore but given the great food they serve more than likely everything else is good also.
