    Entrance to Heavenly Smoked Salmon
    Ran C.

If you love smoked salmon, make it a mission in life, before you die, to visit Tracklements Smokery in Ann Arbor, Michigan to have some of the best smoked salmon that you'll ever have melt in your mouth. Ever. While on a road trip with a friend, after a tour of the University of Michigan, we made it our mission to stop at Tracklements to see for ourselves. Looking for the storefront, to say it's minimal, is almost an understatement (see pics). Walking in, I'm wondering if we have the right place. However, after chatting with owner and then having a few samples, we were hooked. A lot of business is conducted online however while we were there, several customers came in and did their part in clearing out the inventory. Words can't describe, can't even come close to capturing how the salmon just melted like butter once it hit my tongue. Both of us preferred the heat smoked over the cold and ended up leaving with several fillets along with ice packs and instructions for the salmon to keep while continuing on our journey. It's that good. Believe the hype!

Costco rotisserie chicken makes me very sick, but I can easily consume plum market, rotisserie chicken. We love their local and specialty items. My kids are obsessed with Tillamook cheese sticks. We've had really good service specifically in the produce and meat department with people helping us and going above and beyond. One time a produce worker offered to make a mirepoix (fresh cut vegetables for soup ) for us while we were shopping, and when I was introducing my baby to solid foods, I got a lot of great tips from the meat counter worker. I will say that the prices are exorbitant and some things. I wish I could shop here full-time but it is very expensive. But when you have allergies, they learn that some things are worth paying a little bit of a premium for. We will always come in for their produce and rotisserie chickens. The produce I buy here is always fresh and delicious and I've never had a problem with mold, bruises, or slimy vegetables. I can always trust the quality at Plum market. They have an app also which has some pretty great deals sometimes. Their hot case is delicious if you don't have a bunch of allergies. We used to enjoy that quite frequently. The fish and chips are really good. I love how the bathroom has a fresh bouquet of flowers. They are beautiful and such a nice touch. I can always trust that any allergen specific food I will find at plum. I'm so thankful to have this in the community!!

It's truly level above the competing Busch's and Holiday Market stores. If you're tired of everyday takeout options that you find at fast food restaurants, then you owe it to yourself to splurge once in a while and enjoy lunch or dinner from the Plum Market. The meat and seafood offerings are prepared to give you a fine dinning experience that you can serve at home or at the office. You can even enjoy their out of this world salad bar, which offers wide array of fruit and vegetables options. The service here is amazing, first-rate, and everyone is well educated and knows how to make some great recommendations. This is especially true of those who work in the wine section. For instance, if you want sake from Japan, they have an amazing selection of options to offer you that can be served cold or warm. Likewise, the staff even makes excellent food recommendations to enhance the sake experience. The atmosphere inside this market is truly amazing, and very clean. My only complaint is that they offer a very limited selection of soy sauce from Kikkoman's. Given the fact that it's Ann Arbor, I would have expected much more in the way of diversity when it comes to the variety of soy sauces from the Asia-Pacific Region. So if you want to impress your date, serve up a delicious meal at a business meeting, or have a special gathering with friends but don't have time to cook it yourself, then this is the place to buy it at. If you love shopping in the suburbs then you will enjoy the great offerings at this Plum Market.
