Did Sunday brunch at Miss Kim upon recommendation from a Zingerman's employee who said their…read moretteokbokki was his favorite dish in the entire ZCU (Zingerman's Culinary Universe.) Enjoyed the shredded carrot salad amuse bouche, the street style tteokbokki, smashed potatoes, beet & avocado salad, and the miso butter corn bowl with pork belly and soy butter rice. The food was delicious, appealing in flavor, texture, and presentation. Most of the portions were quite generous. The real estate on our micro-mini 2 top table wasn't quite large enough for the bounty of dishes we ordered. It's a small dining room and they are maximizing the diner-space ratio. I'm SO GLAD I wasn't seated at one of the backless stools at the large communal tables. The tteokbokki was the best I had ever had. But I'm not certain that the rest of the fare fully outpaced my local Korean restaurants with more modest pricing. I would consider returning if in the AA area, at least for a carry out of the incredible tteokbokki.

They also have a great drink menu, both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Now for food! I really love the countryside potato rice. So filling and comforting. I'd highly recommend getting the soft egg with it (add on for $3). The carrot salad is refreshing and flavorful. My daughter had the fried tofu sandwich. She said it was good but it could have used a little more sauce and she likes the potato rice better. Another dish I'd recommend is the Buddhist lotus root appetizer!

The quality of the food is still amazing and worth a visit, but there were some items I wish stayed on the menu. For example, the spicy salmon crispy rice is no longer available and only available in the tuna form. The portions are also smaller, now coming in three small bites rather than the two big bites from before. The gochujang rigatoni and kimchi paella are also unavailable. Some new dishes I tried and loved were the short rib and the grilled octopus. The octopus was incredibly tender and I couldn't stop eating it! It also comes with delicious potatoes. The short rib was a larger portion and also tasted delicious. The rest of my table ordered the miso cod. The miso cod was delicious, but the portion was quite small and arguably not worth its price compared to the short rib. Cocktails that I recommend are The Gatsby and The Promised Neverland if you like sweeter drinks! For the service, we felt a bit rushed as we were dining. Normally the drinks come out followed by the appetizers, but our appetizers came first and the drinks came with our mains. I think there was a missed opportunity to sip on our drinks and chat with our party as we enjoyed the restaurant's ambience. Otherwise, the food came quickly and was well served.

I'm pretty torn on this one, hence the 2 stars. I came here with a friend for dinner and we were…read morerudely greeted and told that it would be best if we sat at the bar because they were busy. It was restaurant weekend in downtown Ann Arbor and we didn't have a reservation, so we obliged, although the space was pretty empty. Once we got to the bar, the young waitress slammed menus down in front of us and acted extremely annoyed by our presence. After bothering us every minute for the next 5 minutes to order, me and my friend put in our orders in haste. We then waited for 30 minutes for our meals to arrive. I got the "Amazing Shrimp" sushi roll and my friend got the "Grilled Angus Short Rib". As noted on the menu it comes with Mashed Potatoes, Shishito Peppers, and Garlic Chives. Per my friend's request, the order did not come with the Shishito Peppers or Garlic Chives, but it also didn't have the potatoes. After asking for the potatoes, our server went back and we could hear her yelling at the kitchen staff. Minutes later she came out with a bowl of 3 potatoes, not mashed and not hot. My roll was great and I'd definitely order again if I come back, but I'm honestly not too inclined to after this experience. Lastly, the restaurant itself was freezing. It was a cold day but it was way colder inside than it should've been. We ended up keeping our coats on for most of dinner. I really do want to like it here because the vibe seemed very modern and clean, however the service, food, and level of professionalism fell short of my expectations.

The soy glaze is more of a lacquer on the coating, rather than a penetrating sauce, so the skin stays extra light and crispy, even a day later. I've always been a fan of their tacos but I've recently been going for the bulgogi cup bap. It's the best of all worlds! Rice, some glass noodles, lettuce, and fries, all topped with shaved marinated steak and a drizzle of a spicy mayo. It makes a great meal on it's own, to split, or to enjoy a bit alongside some of the chicken wings (my go to approach). Perfect for a couple of meals! My husband recently started going for the bulgogi bento box which he also loves. It's a hearty portion of bulgogi and white rice with a side salad with ginger dressing and two fried dumplings. He can usually score two meals out of that one, too! A lot of bang for your buck!

Definitely my go-to entree. Thai-Style Calamari (5/5): One of THE main reasons I love Pacific Rim so much. This is the best calamari appetizer I've had. Lightly breaded and fresh. The sweet chili sauce is perfect. Thai Peanut Noodles (4/5): The noodles had great texture and the Thai peanut sauce was delicious. The tofu wasn't really crispy and I personally would've loved the option to add some meat. Lamb Dumpling (4/5): Lots of meat in the filling and didn't taste gamy at all. Limited time special. Shrimp Shumai (4/5): Really enjoyed the wonton wrapper. Shrimp flavor came through nicely. Limited time special. House Salad (4/5): Light and fresh. The soy based dressing was sweet, slightly acidic, and not at all overpowering. Warm Chocolate Cake (4/5): Delicious cake with a warm, gooey inside. I personally don't like coconut or chocolate and fruit desserts, but I still enjoyed this a lot. Creme Brulee Tasting (4/5) : Green tea, pumpkin spice, and ginger creme brulees. Loved getting to try a little bit of each flavor (green tea was my favorite). Spiced Caramel Pear (3/5): Not my favorite since I don't generally like cooked fruit. The mascarpone cream and shortbread were good though. We'd been shopping on the other side of campus, so drove to this side and eventually found parking in a parking garage, but the garage was being worked on, so parking was limited. There was a bit of a wait for food at lunch time on a Tuesday, but we were in tourist mode, and didn't mind waiting. While waiting, I bought a cookie from the deli a few storefronts away, and were able to sit at their tables. Noori doesn't offer any outdoor seating. Since we ordered at lunch time at a weekday, we were able to get a lunch deal, which was a nice bonus. We ordered two flavors of chicken to split between our group. I forget what we got, but we got the best seller, and then the flavor covered in sauce. The sauce was spicier than we expected. I think we got fries too, but they were pretty forgettable. I didn't think the chicken was anything special, but it served as a protein to balance out my cookie and other sweet treats we got throughout the day.
