Bulgogi with kimchi, daikon, and broccoli
    Hannah M.

I have been on a search for excellent bulgogi/bibimbop recently and I figured I needed to try Kosmo's Bop Shop as that is pretty much their whole schtick. I ordered the bulgogi (13.50) which came with two vegetable toppings on a bed of rice. For my vegetable toppings, I chose the kimchi and the daikon. Portions of both were good but the kimchi was not tasty, it was very bland and didn't have a good crunch to it at all. I also opted to add an additional topping (broccoli) for $1.50 extra and the amount they gave me was PITIFUL. You can see in the picture attached, it was maybe $0.10 of broccoli if I'm being generous and it was very limp and sad. The bulgogi was excellent - cooked well and seasoned deliciously - and there was a solid amount of it, so I felt like I got a good value despite the broccoli being pathetic for the extra cost. The rice was cooked well but didn't taste seasoned at all. Some sesame oil and rice vinegar would have gone a long long way to elevate this as a meal because I felt like I had to douse it in the (albeit delicious) "bap sauce" which was basically gochujang in order to have any flavor. I also didn't love that the takeout container was aluminum as I like to reheat leftovers in the takeout container for ease and obviously my microwave wouldn't have been too happy about that in this case. Overall not bad. Maybe would go back but the search for great Korean continues!!

Yummy food! I went in for take out. The food is very good. I ordered mine without the rice and got to add an extra egg instead. The process is slower as the food is made to order, but worth the wait. I recommend! I added a pic of the nice artwork on the wall.

We stumbled upon this place in search for a bibimbop one night & didn't want to go to a full korean restaurant. This place is lile a hole in a wall kind of place, where everyone would be comfortable to eat. Walls are decorated with graffiti like. Regular tables & chairs. Nothing fancy. I ordered the Kosmo's GoTo BOP mix. & BF got the Bulgogi. I like that they give you the sauce on the side (squeeze bottle) so you could control the amount you want in your bowl. Our toddler absurdly loved it. It's not kid friendly though (no high chairs or changing area for diapers in the restrooms).

Their chicken or tofu bibimbap looks yummy here. So does their tempura. No answer on the phone to verify if they are open this Saturday or not. Appears to be open according to Yelp and Google. Still no answer on the phone. Signage shows they have been open during the pandemic, since masks are required. Looks rather dark inside, no sign or indication of closure temporarily or longer. Looks like next time, if they open again.

This place is a pick your own toppings bibimbap shop, chicken tofu and bulgogi protein options. I make sure to come every time I'm in Ann Arbor

Visiting a friend in A2 and stopped by this place for a quick dinner. Restaurant was relatively small with some outside seating options. It's basically a Korean Bibimbap version of Chipotle, definitely fits in line with the aesthetic of a college town like Ann Arbor. If you're looking for authentic Bibimbap this probably isn't the place considering their main menu item is called "The BOP". That being said, they came out with the food relatively quickly and customizability of your order is quick and simple. I got the BOP with Beef, which was delicious. Carrots, Kimchi, and Onions were solid, the radish was a little flavorless. I liked the meal overall, but given that we could only select 4 toppings before paying extra, and it came in a steel mixing bowl left a little to be desired in terms of the usual Bibimbap experience. But I think the food was still delicious, and the service was speedy, and at the end of the day that's what matters. You will not be disappointed.

This place is aligned fairly well though with food in Korea though ie not highly westernized. This place is in the center of the college area on Liberty and State street. The selection is not extensive but the basics are here including BBQ. Side dishes are decent, Kimchi, which is fundamental to any Korean meal and varies by region, is always included and people have strong opinions about. Theirs is OK but not top notch. Other side dishes are decent. Whatever we ordered, BBQ, Yuk Gae Jang, Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap (Rice. Vegetables and beef inn stone pot), other was pretty good.....just like Seoul Garden used to be before ownership change. We used to go almost exclusively to Seoul Garden near the mall off Boardwalk but after ownership change stopped as the taste changed significantly and not for the better. Its nice to have The Seoul is an option. They have beer and soju (Ubiquitous Korean liquor in Korea that along with Kimchi is many Koreans blood) Environment of the restaurant is modern but still a bit cozy. Overall, definitely worth a try. While we are at it, I have spent allot of time in Japan on business (some vacationing too) and I know it's trendy to go there now especially with the exchange rate, and by all means go, allot to see and experience (and eat!) there. But don't overlook Korea. The two countries have a torrid history and don't want to admit they are similar in many ways....but they are and Korea is loaded with great places to go and food to eat. Traveling can be done on any budget, feel free to reach out if you want to learn more. Also love to hear from experienced travelers, love to learn of new places and things to do.

My daughter had the fried tofu sandwich. She said it was good but it could have used a little more sauce and she likes the potato rice better. It's a tasty Korean rice beer. We made reservations and were seated not too long after our arrival. The restaurant offers plenty of seating to include a small bar area, and has a vibrant atmosphere. The quality of the food is still amazing and worth a visit, but there were some items I wish stayed on the menu. For example, the spicy salmon crispy rice is no longer available and only available in the tuna form. The portions are also smaller, now coming in three small bites rather than the two big bites from before. The gochujang rigatoni and kimchi paella are also unavailable. Some new dishes I tried and loved were the short rib and the grilled octopus. The octopus was incredibly tender and I couldn't stop eating it! It also comes with delicious potatoes. The short rib was a larger portion and also tasted delicious. The rest of my table ordered the miso cod. The miso cod was delicious, but the portion was quite small and arguably not worth its price compared to the short rib. Cocktails that I recommend are The Gatsby and The Promised Neverland if you like sweeter drinks! For the service, we felt a bit rushed as we were dining. Normally the drinks come out followed by the appetizers, but our appetizers came first and the drinks came with our mains. I think there was a missed opportunity to sip on our drinks and chat with our party as we enjoyed the restaurant's ambience. Otherwise, the food came quickly and was well served.

It was restaurant weekend in downtown Ann Arbor and we didn't have a reservation, so we obliged, although the space was pretty empty. Once we got to the bar, the young waitress slammed menus down in front of us and acted extremely annoyed by our presence. After bothering us every minute for the next 5 minutes to order, me and my friend put in our orders in haste. We then waited for 30 minutes for our meals to arrive. I got the "Amazing Shrimp" sushi roll and my friend got the "Grilled Angus Short Rib". As noted on the menu it comes with Mashed Potatoes, Shishito Peppers, and Garlic Chives. Per my friend's request, the order did not come with the Shishito Peppers or Garlic Chives, but it also didn't have the potatoes. After asking for the potatoes, our server went back and we could hear her yelling at the kitchen staff. Minutes later she came out with a bowl of 3 potatoes, not mashed and not hot. My roll was great and I'd definitely order again if I come back, but I'm honestly not too inclined to after this experience. Lastly, the restaurant itself was freezing. It was a cold day but it was way colder inside than it should've been. We ended up keeping our coats on for most of dinner. I really do want to like it here because the vibe seemed very modern and clean, however the service, food, and level of professionalism fell short of my expectations.
