    Side of kimchi

Located where Seoul street used to be. I think kimchi box is a much better version of Korean fried chicken with much friendlier service. There menu options are also more interesting than Seoul street. Inside is very few tables they do have some outside seating but for me this will be a take out place. They pretty reasonable prices $7.95 for a very satisfying flavorful chicken sandwich Popeyes cannot compare. For an extra $4 can add sassy fries, the fries were very crispy despite being drenched in a mayonnaise based sauce. My wife's spicy pork box was very flavorful similar to the spicy pork you would get a tomukun Korean bbq. The kimchi was strong, had good spice, but not enough garlic for me. Will definitely come back for lunch and their fried chicken.

    Bibimbap

I tried the bibimbap with bulgogi and chicken. Bulgogi was ok, chicken was bland. I like the choice of vegetables they use and I also ordered some pickled radish, very good. The japchae was good. The guy at the counter was very friendly. Kiosk for ordering. They have diet Mt. Dew. I will say that the menu was a little deceptive in showing purple rice as the rice option when they only have white rice. I prefer purple rice so I was not happy about that. Overall, it was a good experience though.

The food was really good and authentic. The chicken wings are always my go-to. Service was quick. The place is really tiny but has sufficient seating. Not good for big parties, it's more like a quick meal or to-go spot.

    Soy Garlic Wings

I've been to the Kimchi Box location in Auburn Hills, so I was excited to try the Ann Arbor location! I ordered the soy garlic wings (6 pcs) and bulgogi tacos. The wings were made to order, but the wait wasn't long at all. The wings came out hot and very crispy; it was the perfect portion size, and I loved the soy garlic sauce. Gloves are also provided if you don't want to get your hands dirty! The bulgogi taco was larger than I expected, and it was delicious too. It was topped with lettuce, pickled onions, and sassy mayo. The restaurant is small with limited seating, but it's meant to be fast-casual so tables free up pretty quickly. Overall, I really enjoyed it!

Great food and the price was reasonable. I was able to try the kimchi fries, dukboki, and the bulgogi burger. Will try again!

Been here twice, once at the original location and now recently at the old Avalon spot. Had…read moredifferent tacos each time and wasn't impressed on either occasion. The ambiance is kind of a sterile, trendy vibe, but not in a good way? They have the Love Island neon signs in the bathroom (and the awful Dyson air blade hand dryer sinks that just blow gross public sink water into your face unexpectedly) and it feels like it's toeing the line between wanting to be upscale and also accommodate the college crowd. I don't know. I could forgive all the weird vibes if the food were better. I will say their tacos are quite large; so don't expect a typical street taco. I had a hard time eating three and I'm a pretty hungry person. So I'd order two, especially if you have any kind of app or side. I would not order the mahi mahi one again. There was SO MUCH (bland) fish in there it fell apart. The pastor was pretty typical, and the camarones (shrimp) one wasn't bad, but it was kind of like a shrimp salad concoction vs a fried shrimp or ceviche kind of application. And they were like teeny mini shrimp. It was well-flavored, though. My Paloma mocktail was solid! Expensive, though, for something without booze in it. Our server was very sweet but perhaps overly attentive, stopped by (not kidding) like 12 times to refill our waters after we'd taken barely a sip. We were well hydrated but chuckling at the constant disruption.

The bathrooms were just as cold if not colder than the dining area. We did the restaurant week menu $35/pair one app, 2 tacos a piece and dessert. We ordered the nachos, the griego, chipotle, camaron, and tofu tacos and the tres leche dessert. The griego sauce was great the chicken was a bit dry. The chipotle was ok. The camaron didn't have any flavor and I even squeezed lime on it and it didn't help. The tofu was great there was so much flavor in the sauce and topping. The nachos were so good, the salsa verse was spicy and had so much flavor the chips were crispy and because they were a little in the thick side that they didn't get soggy at all. I would get those nachos every time they were amazing! The tees leche was good too the cinnamon and the cake was great it was soft like a pudding. If I ever come back here again. I will be getting the nachos and tres leche dessert and the tofu tacos.

This is my third visit in since they opened. I ordered the *fresh* guac small. It's not fresh. Creamy baby food avocado is not fresh. The salsa is a bit salty but good. The chicken tortilla soup - again salty, with chicken and the barest bit of roasted corn, topped with WAY too many tortilla strips. Especially when half of the strips were stale or hard as a rock. Do the cooks smoke? That would account for the saltiness. Also ordered a chile relleno à la carte. The breading was too thick but the chile was good. The cheese was a bit odd but fine. I didn't care for the green sauce on the side. I pulled off the tortilla strips, chile breading and did my best with what I had ordered. Just another visit to remind me why I don't come here. ‍

A small taco shop in a nondescript strip mall, Miny's is turning out some seriously impressive and authentic tacos on par with places I love in Southern California. My friends and I swung by around dinnertime and while it was not crowded, there was a steady flow of customers and take-out orders. There is no dining area, but there are tables outside where one can sit and eat. I ordered 3 tacos: al pastor, cabeza, and Cameron, with spicy salsas on the side. The total was about ~$13. The first thing that stood out to me was the size. These were some hefty tacos, lovingly double-wrapped in pliable, warm, corn tortillas and neatly packaged for takeout. Salsa can be hit or miss but the salsas here were SO GOOD. Made in-house, they add the perfect moisture and flavor to each bite. Their green salsa has a mild, tingling kick, and tastes very rich and refreshing. The orange creamy salsa, however, stole the show. It is spicier than the green, and has a super addicting smokiness that enhances, but doesn't overpower, every bite. I was bright red and sweating but could not put this salsa down. The al pastor taco was my favorite. Sweet, soft, smoky pork with the crunch and freshness of onions and cilantro, drenched in the above salsas, simply divine! I wish it had come with pineapple for a pop of sweetness, but it was still a super good taco. I was thrilled to see that Miny's offered cabeza and lengua, as they are cuts of meat less familiar to the average American diner. I opted for cabeza and was greeted with a pile of soft, collagen-rich meat, bursting with juice and oil. The meat by itself is definitely a bit bland so the salsas did the heavy lifting in terms of flavor. The gooey-soft texture though, that was all due to the perfectly cooked meat. This was a pricier taco than the Al pastor, and there was definitely a bit less meat than in the Al pastor, but still a very good taco. The shrimp taco impressed me the least. The shrimp were unseasoned and looked to be boiled. While bouncy and tender cooked in this way, I prefer the char and juiciness of grilled shrimp in my tacos. In addition, I tend to expect my seafood tacos to have a slaw on them, versus the standard onions and cilantro. With the salsas, this taco was fine, but I would not order it another time. A very healthy but uninspired taco. Overall, for where it's located and what it is, Miny's does some amazing tacos, though I will probably skip the seafood ones next time. I will be DREAMING of that orange salsa, and now understand why on their menu, they sell it by the carton.

I'm big on ordering enough for multiple meals so I went with the nachos and a kid's steak quesadilla and got 3 meals out of the deal! The kid's portion came with two mini quesadillas and a side of rice and they were definitely generous with the steak portions! They had hearty chunks of steak, perfectly cooked and seasoned, surrounded by a nice melty cheese. Really tasty! For my nachos I went with the carnitas though I think they may have accidentally given me the al pastor as I bit into more than a few chunks of pineapple, which honestly was not my favorite when blended with the other elements of the nachos. I'd definitely get them again but I think I'd pick a different protein just in case. Probably the steak since it was so good in the quesadillas. I went through less than half of the nachos since they were a huge portion and tucked away the rest in the fridge for the next day. Sure, nachos don't always reheat great but I tossed mine under the broiler to crisp everything back up and then added some fresh chips on the side and it was perfect. I still had a few leftovers even after that and took the rest of it and added an egg on top for a makeshift chilaquiles dish! Pretty good! My one regret was not trying the churros but I'll definitely be doing that the next time!
