    The smells...

Wow! This place I wonderful! When I was in undergrad at Uof M, my Korean roommate introduced me to many Korean spots in the downtown area. They are all long gone. I've been Searching for a local spot that is not just BBQ. They have many options which range from lavish Bbq to simple apps. The banchan is fabulous and can be refilled. I got 2 Long Island iced teas and BbQ with spicy pork. There was plenty of delicious food and it was reminiscent of my favorite Korean dishes in 1990. service was wonderful, fast and friendly. I will be returning soon to try the japchae, pageon, bibimpop, among other things.

Nice clean restaurant with friendly service. Got the bibimbap with chicken and the hot stone. Food came out quickly and the banchan was great.

Another great kbbq spot in Ann Arbor. The servers were great and it's not as crowded here. I like how big their place is and their meats were seasoned very well

Food is always delicious- we got the marinated kalbi and tangsuyuk. It was great that we could get additional banchan as well. The service can be slow as it seems they don't have a lot of staff working around 5pm. Visited 7/19/25

"She'll let you in her heart If you got a hammer and a vise But into her secret garden, don't think twice" (Bruce Springsteen) What a wonderful dinner we had tonight at the Seoul Garden. We weren't in the mood for a hibachi table, so we skipped the hibachi show and big dinner and picked three things from their regular menu. We ordered a Spicy Pork Combo ($20), an order of three egg Rolls ($6), and an order of six humongous Soy Garlic chicken wings ($12). As soon as we ordered, a variety of Banchan side dishes came out right away. There were six of them -sticky rice, kimchi, potatoes, broccoli, crunchy pickled vegetables, and spicy seafood strips. What a great way to start the meal. My spicy pork was fantastic- a heaping platter of thinly sliced very spicy pork strips over sauteed sliced onions. The wings were gigantic, some of the biggest we've ever seen, and they were delicious. We both thought the egg rolls were the weak link because there didn't seem to be much inside except shredded cabbage. Service was very good, and the food was plentiful and reasonably priced.

The food was ok here. It had some hits and a few misses. The restaurant is very clean and looks modern. The bon chon was not served until the meal was coming out. The kimchi was a hit. It was on the fresher side which is what I prefer. The radish was also very good. The mashed potatoes were sort of sweet. I found those to be interesting and unexpected. We ordered a kimchi pancake and it was sooooooo oily. The pancake was so oily that none of it has any crispness at all. i would not order that again. The spicy chicken bbq was not spicy at all. I mean not even a little bit. The overall flavors were ok but I wanted some of that spice! The serving size was quite large. Service was slow but friendly.

I liked that they have good size parking space. I ordered course meal for 4 assuming portion size maybe small but I was wrong. It came with many different dishes and there were a lot of meats. Quality of meats were very good. The building looked little outdated so I was worried at first but inside was large and looked clean. The staff was friendly and checked on us for refill of drinks frequently. This place became one of my favorite restaurants. Definitely we come back again.

I came here for the all you can eat Korean bbq. There were 2 options for all you can eat, option A had more meat and side options for $38 and option B had a little bit less for $32. I ordered the more expensive option because they had 2 choices of Kalbi for the beef portion. Ultimately for 3 people, we ordered 6 servings of Kalbi, 3 Chadol, 1 bbq chicken, 1 ribeye, 1 seafood pancake, 1 veggie dumpling, 1 kimchi, 1 steamed egg and 2 rice. The total ended up being over $100. I would say for 3 people it wasn't bad in price! The food was all good! The service was good! We came Saturday afternoon (3pm) and didn't have to wait for a table. I wouldn't say anything was especially amazing, but for the price I think it was a good deal! The portions were very fair and I would come back!

It's nice that they spent money to update the restaurant and it looks great. Love the open concept and additional sunlight from the new windows that been added. The chairs were nice but it was bit uncomfortable after a while. Unfortunately with the upgrade, they removed the sushi options and it's full Korean restaurant. Menus are all in English now and they jacked the prices up by 50% or more. I wouldn't complain about higher fees if their food taste went up, however it went down, the serving bowls were downgraded as well. I guess this is reality of inflation and Covid affects. While this place was going through upgrades, they opened a new kbbq joint on Liberty - The Seoul - to compete with Tomukun. I don't know if that location has better food, but I would assume it's the same. Bit disappointed with their food quality.

They did a complete renovation of this place from the last time I came a few years ago! It's a lot more spacious and looks very modern. Food was just as delicious as I remembered it to be and service was excellent. Kalbi portions were huuuge this is the first time my fam ever had to pack leftovers after kbbq. This is def one of the better kbbq spots around the area.

Good Korean restaurant. Just as expensive as Tomukun, but better banchan. Really good bulgogi. The jjajangmyeon was very mid, soggy noodles. Otherwise, would recommend.

AMBIANCE = 4 I have read reviews that inside is dated. I am ok with it. The changes going on in Ann Arbor. It is nice to see stability. Be thankful a place weathering city transformation and not closing thier doors. If things get renovated so do the prices. With the price of food... 2. FOOD/DRIINKS = 4 I had Salomon. Other two had White Fish. London Broil. No one had any complaints. Food was well flavored and enjoyed the meal. Beer was Two Hearted on tap. Good. Red wine was house and had robust flavor. 3. SERVICE = 5 Our server was on top of everything. Friendly. Not overbearing. Drinks came in good order as well as food. 4. BATHROOM = 4 Clean and maintained. 5. PRICING = 3 On part for the times we live in. Inflation of the last 4 years created new norms. One area that tends to change is tipping. With wages for michigan getting to $15.00 all that has to play into pricing. So I give cash tips. The whole thing of putting tip pricing on the bill. I think many see it. 1. Brussel sprout appt. $15.00. 2. Meals were $27.00. If you went with steaks things get pricey. But if one follows news the beef herds are being reduced. So days of low cost beef meals are in the past. We just do not eat out as much so when we do it is a treat. 6. OBSERVATION The bar area was full. What I liked for a Thursday night is number of trades people at the bar. Parking is adequate. Not sure what a Friday or Saturday would look like... We were seated at table near bar area. One comment was we would have choose a booth the next time. Noise level in our area was loud. 7. We've been here several times, and it's always a solid choice for a date night. The interior is modern and comfortable, and they have a bar area with TVs. If you're not looking to drink alcohol, they do offer a nice selection of NA beverages. For dinner, my husband got the prime rib, which he said was excellent, and he thinks their mashed potatoes are the best. I ordered the au gratin potatoes, which were very good, and the risotto. For meal, we ordered: - few onions rings - Fried Artichoke Hearts - 2 regular burgers and 1 order "over the top" - few beers The service is hit or miss, depends on how busy the place gets... our waitress was working six tables by herself, but she did all she could to help. The onion rings were awesome, fried artichoke hearts, you can skip... for the burgers, I would recommend you stick to classic - meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato and onions. We all got it med, the meat was juicy as usual and we all enjoyed it. The draft beer that I ordered was flat unfortunately. When we got our check I noticed that there was a "convenience fee 3%", which is applied to your meal prices only. I'm not a fan of convenience fee, if they are trying to offset the credit card charges or adjust their prices due to the inflation or higher material costs, they should just raise their prices to offset those. I also didn't see anything about convenience fee being added, granted if it was in a smaller print so I could have missed it. It seems everyone is adding on convenience fee to everything.

Only as we were getting close to the end of the first set did servers again reappear to quickly get us our last 2 prix fixe courses and be able to turn our table before the next set. I had heard good things about the food and was looking forward to eating here in addition to the music. Unfortunately the food was a disappointment for me and just about every dish was under-seasoned. The one hit was my wife's branzino, while the one big miss was the red beans & rice add-on to the prix fixe menu - I mean, nobody in NOLA would pay $28 for red beans but if we did I would surely expect more than a few tiny pieces of sausage and to not have undercooked rice and undercooked beans plus need more salt and acid. Brussels were fine but again missing salt and ideally a bit of acid while the pork chop was somewhat fatty but cooked well however other flavors & textures on the plate just weren't very exciting. I would consider coming back to Blue Llama for the right show and the ambience is great, but would probably choose to eat elsewhere. Maybe it was just a bad night in the kitchen, who knows but I'm not inclined to return for dinner again.
