This restaurant has a special place in the heart of Ann Arborites. This is where I went to dinner with my husband just after he proposed and had lunches with my dad when I was younger. The dining room is still like stepping back in time. Nothing has changed. really. nothing. Our visits have slowed in the last couple years due to the poor experiences we've had, but this last one was the final straw. I am done with Knight's Steak House and the attitudes from the servers. The food isn't good enough nor is there value enough to put up with that level of (lack of) service. I booked a reservation for 6 on a Monday night at 7pm to celebrate a birthday. From the start, the server was short and took WAY too long to come around just for drinks. (25 mins) She had an attitude and before our people were even there, I had a feeling we should leave. I didn't want our son's birthday to be spoiled by this server, but too late. After waiting 25 mins to PUT IN a drink order, we got drinks after appetizers were gone. When she finally brought the drinks, did she stick around to take our order when we asked her to take our orders. We had a kid in our party and it was already near 8pm. IDK what her hold up was or why she was so unavailable to a party of 6 but that was ridiculous. We are pretty easy and very forgiving but throw attitude on top and that ensures we got the message and not a place we would like to go again. The wine selection is crap but the pours are heavy. The dinner salad on special is $13 (with a 6oz steak add on for an additional $15) but was the size a side plate. No reason there could not have been just more lettuce in it. Charge more for a bigger size even. The steak was proper cooked temp but served lukewarm and no flavor. Same for the kid's meal - lukewarm. She was about sleep on the table before the food came out so she didn't eat much anyway. n the upside, they know how to serve a sandwich, on end, so the bread doesn't get soggy and he said the sandwich was good. Our 3 boys had steaks and they didn't complain though they said it could use some flavor. Then I remembered that you have to ORDER flavor. Why didn't the server ASK any of use if we wanted seasoning on our steaks? We aren't a table full of old people. 3 men in their 20s might want some flavor. Horrible experience and getting worse with each visit. $300 bill I hope someone comes in an shapes up this place. That was ridiculous. Crystal was a fantastic server but I heard she is gone when I asked for her section.

This place is located in the North side of Dexter Ave, west of the main campus. Apparently it was one of Bo's favorite places and Jim Harbaugh brought players there. So it is a very popular place in Ann Arbor. It was packed when we were there. They are known for their steaks but we did not order it so sorry cannot comment on that. We did get the Bolognese and chicken Parmesan (see photos). The chicken parm was like the bolognese with a huge piece of chicken. That was a very good deal compared to the price of other things. We heard this is the place to come on game days.

We sat at the bar to get the famous dirty martinis with blue olives. Dave was our bartender and he was incredibly busy but also very attentive to us. I was quite impressed. I ordered the Alissa summer salad with sirloin steak and a side of french fries. The steak was cooked to perfection and the dressing for the salad was so refreshing. The atmosphere was bustling, reflecting the popularity of this place. Although we put our name in for a table, we decided to stay at the bar because it was so pleasant. I definitely plan on coming back.

Yummy dining in classic/old/traditional club style digs. I don't even know if that makes sense but I definitely could picture, back in the day, the establishment full of university men meeting here for steaks and burgers, drinking, smoking, cards and maybe pool. A bit loud and bustling today, but we were able to get seated without a reservation on a Friday evening within 5min. I got the Jalapeño-Bacon Jam Burger, which was delicious! The savory spicy jam really elevated the burger, but the quality of the meat and the char grill is really what makes this good. Rounded out with cheese, pickles (a decently generous amount), garlic aioli, arugula, and a grilled brioche bun that was the perfect amount of sturdy to hold everything together without being too bready. Delicious! Burgers come with a side of chips by default, but I swapped for fries which are good classic fries. The drinks! I got a whiskey sour and wow was that a generous pour, and a good price. Didn't taste watered down or anything either. My husband's drink was a large pour and a good price too. Drink prices vary quite a lot at different dining establishments and I was very happy to discover the value of drinks here. We'll be back! It's not a huge space, so reservations are probably helpful. There is also an upstairs space, not sure how big that is. Good amount of parking on site which is convenient.

My family has been coming to Knight's for decades. It's always enjoyable. Tonight my partner and I came here to celebrate our fifth anniversary. Yet another fantastic experience. Although the parking lot was quite full, we were seated quickly. Server came to take our drink order swiftly. Per usual, food and drinks were on point. The steaks were cooked to their requested temps. Sides were great. The ranch that came with the garden salad (homemade, I assume?) was out of this world. Even the butter packets were the appropriate temperature. Lots of leftovers. Love the quaint, old timey charm this location has always possessed. Above all, our server, Devin H., was phenomenal! Very attentive, friendly, not remotely overbearing. He had fantastic energy; best server we've had in awhile! Love this place. We plan to make it our annual anniversary dinner (plus many more throughout the year,of course).

Comfy like an old shoe, Knight's is a great choice for steaks and burgers. The bar area, often raucous, is surrounded by somewhat quieter booths and tables. If they have a steak on the daily specials menu, it's probably worth a look. Today they had a cabbage and smoked sausage soup that was both hearty and flavorful. After enjoying a cup of that, I tucked into a build-your-own 7 oz burger with American cheese and green olives. Burger, served on a toasted brioche bun, was nicely charred and cooked medium as I requested. If you're not a beef person, the Cobb salad with optional salmon or chicken might be right for you - or perhaps the fried walleye. Several good beers on tap and an extensive dessert menu.

First off the waitress was really nice but obviously not versed enough on the menu to answer our questions fully. The place was really packed and loud to the point of not being able to catch an intimate vibe. The food was definitely subpar. I order twin lobster tails with scalloped potatoes and asparagus. The lobster was tough and not seasoned properly. The potatoes were mushy and way too cheesy. The asparagus was ok. I also ordered a bowl of chili that was pretty tasty. Overall this place was an old school favorite of mine that has seemed to change. Not sure if I'll be returning again.

What a delightful and FUN evening!…read more First time at this steakhouse. It was a party of four celebrating my birthday. As soon as we approached the front of the restaurant, I immediately felt like living back in Chicago. As we stepped inside and I took a look around, it hit me. Walking into this steakhouse feels like stepping into a vintage Chicago steakhouse/speakeasy. The doors open to the faint, unmistakable scent of charcoal-seared prime beef, aged bourbon, and pipe tobacco. Dim, moody lighting glints off polished brass fixtures and Art Deco geometric paneling, setting an atmosphere of unmistakable luxury. It wowed me. It has been a full year since I experienced this. This steakhouse is the pinnacle of indulgent dining, characterized by impeccable hospitality, expertly crafted dishes, and an atmosphere of refined luxury. It seamlessly blends the finest cuts of premium, dry-aged beef with white-tablecloth elegance and a sophisticated, but fun ambiance. Interiors feature dark wood paneling, rich leathers, brass accents, and low, warm lighting to create an intimate and timeless setting. White-Glove Service: The waitstaff are highly trained professionals who anticipate your every need. Tables feature crisp linen, heavy silverware, and polished glasses. The Bar: The focal point of the room is often an expansive, classic bar featuring a world-class cocktail program. Signature drinks include bone-dry martinis and perfectly balanced Old Fashioneds. Reminiscent of a top-tier Chicago steakhouse! The menu selection is fantastic, and the staff is wonderfully synchronized with a keen eye for the little details. Everyone at our table was wowed and completely satisfied. The lower level cigar lounge had tremendous atmosphere and it was the perfect way to finish the night. Highly recommended you try this place. Let me tell you a bit more about La Dolce Vita & Cigar Lounge. This cigar lounge is an adjoining gourmet dessert and cigar lounge. It allows you to wrap up your evening with fine wines, single malt scotches, and hand-rolled cigars, even featuring elaborate, over-the-top desserts like their molten "Candy Bar Bomb". I will write another review soon because we will be back. I will also update the review and share all the great food and all the appetizers drinks and desserts that we had on my awesome birthday dinner! So stay tuned ;) ALSO I want to give kudos to the gal that deboned my Dover Sole, after dinner we headed down to the cigar lounge and she asked me how was my meal and she was very polite and professional it made me smile that she took the time to confirm how I felt about the Dover Sole. The details added up throughout the evening.

As we were walking to the restaurant, my diabetic mother started feeling her blood sugar drop. By the time we got inside, it had fallen to 44, so we headed to the bar and asked for a Sprite. The bartenders took care of her immediately and refused to take payment. They continued to monitor her, bringing her another glass as soon as she finished one, all while taking care of their many other patrons at the bar. They were kind, attentive, and made her feel truly cared for. Ben was our waiter, and he was also very attentive. He made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us often. The food was so delicious we tipped the kitchen staff twice (I love that this was offered as an option on the menu!). We all sampled bites from each other's orders, and I honestly couldn't tell you who had the best dish because there wasn't a bad bite at the table. My sister even struggled to decide whether to enjoy every bit of her steak there or save some to enjoy the next day. Despite how delicious everything was, we saved room for dessert, and I'm so glad we did. The crème brûlée and the chocolate chip cookie cheesecake were to die for! As we were finishing our meal, we realized we would need to-go boxes, but since we had taken an Uber into Ann Arbor and the theater doesn't allow outside food, we were worried the leftovers would go to waste. Matt, the manager, came to the rescue and said he would be happy to hold our food until after the show. We were so grateful! Ben carefully boxed everything up, and we were off to the show. I cannot commend this business enough on their high-class team. A restaurant is made or broken by the staff they employ, and every single person we encountered went above and beyond in their professionalism, courteousness, and genuine hospitality. We will absolutely be making this a regular spot for our whole family and cannot wait to introduce it to our friends and extended family. Thank you again for a lovely evening!

They have a nice diverse menu with many options to choose from. We opted to go for small plates and had the Joey D's Killer Cornbread; sweet potato, with chipotle maple butter. It is served warm of course and it was very, very good. We also ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes, with pimento cheese. They were nicely battered and had great taste and flavor. The pimento cheese was a nice accompaniment. Lastly, we ordered the Apricot-Prosciutto Flatbread with sage-ricotta, burrata and arugula. I parked behind the building in a paid lot & it wasn't too expensive but filled up quick on the weekend.

Wow. This place really raises the bar in every way possible…read more The drinks and desserts are the best I have had IN MY LIFE. Yes that's right. My husband said he had the nest hazy ipa of his life here too. A wild claim for foodies like us. They offer takeout in case you don't feel like crowding inside. AND they have the only pickle plate appetizer I have been able to find in the state of Michigan. Oh how i have missed these house pickles in different brines. The bartenders are not only incredibly talented and knowledgeable, they are friendly, cool, and so interesting! I think every single bartender I talked to over there had these attributes, and some even went above and beyond that too. I know, hard to believe, and the price tag matches. At least they are neither under or overrated? I come here for the bar atmosphere, the impeccable drinks and desserts and sometimes a snack. I prefer to go elsewhere for fresh oysters and dinner.

Phenomenal Dessert and Solid Tapas, But the Main Missed the Mark…read more Came here for dinner and experienced a bit of a mixed bag. The smaller plates and dessert ranged from good to absolutely stellar, but the heavier main courses left a lot to be desired. Service was very excellent and the ambiance was a perfect place to spend a Sunday afternoon. The Standouts (5/5) Goxua: Absolute perfection. This dessert was phenomenal, beautifully executed, and easily the highlight of the entire meal. Do not leave without ordering it! Patatas Bravas: Stellar. Perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and the sauce was spot on. Tuna Tapas: Served with shallot and serrano. Incredibly fresh, beautifully balanced, and another major win for the table. The Middle of the Road (3/5 - 4/5) Katsu Tapas: Quite good (4/5), with solid execution and great texture. Croquetas: Just okay (3/5). They lacked that rich, distinct flavor you usually look for in a traditional croqueta. The Disappointments (2/5) Turkey/Chicken Meatballs: A big miss. They were noticeably under-seasoned and lacked depth. Señorito Paella: For a dish that should be a showstopper, this was very underwhelming. It was light on the seafood, and the overall flavor profile was just lacking. Overall Verdict: Go for the drinks, stick to the top-tier tapas (the Patatas Bravas and tuna), and make sure you save room for the Goxua. Skip the meatballs and the paella.

Great Brunch, good Lunch, but menu could use more variety!…read more Savas is an adorable restaurant with a really welcoming atmosphere; the space is cute, the environment is lovely, and the staff is genuinely amazing every single time. My first visit was for brunch, and it completely won me over. The buffet had a wonderful variety of food, the mimosas and cocktails were delicious, and for the quality, variety, and service you get, the price point is very fair. I left thoroughly impressed. I came back for lunch excited to experience it again, and while the staff was just as warm and the environment just as great, however, this time the lunch menu didn't quite live up to my expectations. They offer salads, sandwiches, mac and cheese and similar American-style comfort food, which is totally fine, but for a restaurant of this caliber I was hoping for something a little more exciting. I ended up ordering a salad with added shrimp, which was absolutely delicious, and a pomegranate rosemary lemonade that was incredibly refreshing - perfect for a summer day-. But if you're not in the mood for sandwiches, salads, or mac and cheese, your options are pretty limited. My suggestion: keep doing everything you're doing because the hospitality and atmosphere are truly special, but consider expanding the lunch and dinner menu for those looking for a heartier or more diverse meal.
