We had the best experience here for dinner last night! This is a long review because every aspect was excellent. Easily booked a reservation via Yelp for my husband's birthday. Street parking on a Saturday night was easy. Was welcomed by the hostess who noted the birthday celebration and seated us at a table reserved for us right in front of the windows. Their booth tables are so cozy and we caught the tail end of the sunset. Our server (Alvaro according to the receipt) and all wait staff were extremely attentive, quick, and friendly. Our waters stayed full and table cleared of empty dishes. We even had our picture taken at the start of meal without asking. Now for the Food: Drinks: - Pacific Sunset (Hers): fruity passion fruit with light bubbles. Sweet and fresh. - Moonraker (His): strong and clean. Starters: - Calamari: perfectly battered and fried, seasoned well. - Crab cakes: crispy outside and full of meaty crab. Sauce was tasty. - Clam chowder: jam-packed with clams. Could have been thicker in my opinion. Entrees: - Steak frites: tender New York steak cooked PERFECTLY (rare per my request). Hefty portion of duck-fat fries. - Steak & lobster: dish initially came out missing the lobster but our awesome waiter responded right away and had the lobster brought out shortly after. Both were also PERFECTLY cooked. Dessert: - Bananas foster banana pudding: I loved this. The crispy sautéed banana on top of soft, hot brioche bread was incredible. - Blood orange sorbet: large portion, refreshing, smooth texture. The live Pianist was so talented and played festive holiday renditions. My husband had to go back and tip him even after we left. Beautiful oceanfront view. So cool to also see some whales swimming in the distance. Making a reservation is recommended. Halibut was their special for the day. Service was good. Our server was attentive and our food came out at a decent amount of time. We enjoyed our dinner. We had a great time at Moonraker - the views are absolutely stunning and with the live piano, it felt like we were in a James Bond HQ tucked away in a cove at the edge of the Pacific. Great drinks and great views, perfect for a date or large group! There's a bunch of intimate booths overlooking the ocean, making it great to watch the sunset. We came in a large group, and service was amazing. To start, we ordered the beef carpaccio, raw oysters, crab cakes, calamari, clam chowder, Brussels sprouts, and oysters Rockefeller. The clam chowder stood out for me and was very flavorful, savory, and creamy. I would probably pass on the calamari and oysters Rockefeller next time. Everything else was pretty delicious! I ordered the surf and turf Kobe beef and sea scallops, and I also tried the lobster mac and cheese. Both were very delicious, but I especially loved the Kobe beef and scallops. I also tried a bit of the cioppino, and the broth was so good! To end, we ordered the pumpkin spice crème brûlée and cappuccino. They paired so well together. The crème brûlée was also so creamy and delicious, it really satisfied my cravings! This is a pretty solid place to go, especially if you come around sunset time. Our party of four had reservations at 7:30 PM on a Monday night. The place was relatively busy so I'm glad we had reservations. We were sat in a booth facing the water. It was a beautiful view on a lovely late Summer night. We started the evening with a Dirty Martini and some appetizers. The Beef Carpaccio, Oyster Rockefeller,d Crab Cakes were all delicious. Even though their online menu doesn't state it, their menu on site indicated they were gluten free. They don't offer gluten free bread but the Carpaccio came with potato chips. They had so many gluten free options, I was amazed! My friends were on a low carb diet and they found many things to eat. I had the Cioppino as my main and loved it. The broth was rich and tasty with the essence of seafood. Both food and service were great! I highly recommend Moonraker for a double date! Decent food but service was very slow. We were not able to order for the longest time and we had to flag someone down to put in an order. After that there was a mixup and the server walked by with our food was taken to a table somewhere else before it got to us. However, the food was still good. Oysters were fresh and clean. Shushed well and did not have chips of shell. The lobster mac was creamy and hot and the lobster was cooked well. I was happy to see both a tail and bits in the mac and cheese. My parents celebrated their anniversary at this restaurant years ago -- back when it was a buffet. I brought them here recently to reminisce and celebrate my dad's birthday. Honestly, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed dinner. Food Go for the seafood. I enjoyed these dishes the most. Clam Chowder -- 9/10 Hit the spot and had a good amount of clams. Oysters -- 9/10 Go during happy hour $1.60 each (4-6pm)! Most of the oysters were on the smaller side but it had good flavor. Seafood Tower -- 7/10 Great presentation, but I could have done without the smoked salmon and poke. they were good but nothing I would crave again. The crab legs were definitely the highlight. I would just get these next time. Mussels Frites -- 9/10 Solid dish. good flavor and fries were really good. Steak Frites -- 5/10 This is where it went downhill. The steak had a weird soft mealy texture that was off putting. It was not my favorite. You can skip this one. Steak and Lobster Tail -- 8/10 If you really want steak, go with the NY strip. This one was definitely better. The lobster tail was the highlight of the dish. Service 10/10 Great service from happy hour down to our dinner reservation. Environment -- 100/10 The views make the experience. You can reserve tables with a view online to guarantee a spot (with an added cost). It was definitely busy on a Saturday night so book reservations ahead of time. Cleanliness -- 10/10 Value -- 10/10 I would definitely come back! This is a great place for special occasions. We had an exceptional experience at Moonraker on my birthday 2/7/26. Starting from the host who sat us at our table, and including our server who was classy in a relaxed way, professional, helpful and knowledgeable. The food was all cooked perfectly and the portions were good. Based on this experience, I would say this is a great restaurant for a date, or a fun dinner to celebrate. Avoid the lobster bisque (more broth, less bisque) and the clam chowder (full of chunky pieces but the base favor just isn't there). Great deal on the Happy Hour oysters!!! My boyfriend and I had dinner at Moonraker's to celebrate our three-year anniversary, and overall, it was a really nice evening. The location is beautiful--our oyster booth by the window had a stunning view of the ocean, which added something special to the night. We also appreciated being able to reserve the table online ahead of time for a small fee--it made planning easy. The only downside was that it got a bit warm at our table as the sun was setting; the light was coming in directly through the windows, which made it a little less comfortable at times. Service was great. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they even brought us a complimentary slice of chocolate molten lava cake with raspberries to celebrate our anniversary, which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. We enjoyed the drinks a lot--the Siren Song was a standout: really fragrant from the lavender lemonade and blueberries and well-balanced, definitely something I'd order again. For appetizers, we had the chilled crab legs, which were tasty and fresh, but we didn't notice the drawn butter until later as it was placed on the chilled platter behind the crab legs--and by then it had cooled and solidified. The coconut prawns were massive and well-cooked, though the sauce they came with was a little too sweet for our taste. We also had the duck fat fries and they were great, nothing too standout. Here's where it changes. The mains were definite showstoppers. We had the asparagus ravioli and the petrale sole, and both were amazing. The ravioli was delicately cooked to a perfect al dente, with a bright, refreshing touch from the lemon zest, pomegranate seeds, and cherry tomatoes. The sole was especially memorable--flaky, tender, and beautifully complemented by the tangy lemon caper sauce and a nice porcini dust. One small thing to keep in mind if you're reserving the oyster booth: there are high-top tables placed directly behind it, and the booth itself it quite roomy but space behind can feel a bit tight. The couple seated behind us had their menu hanging off the edge of their table and it was right at my boyfriend's head level--he had to be careful and lean slightly forward to avoid bumping into it. Not a major issue, just something to be aware of if you're hoping for a bit more space. Overall, the food was solid for the price, and the combination of the ocean view, good service, and thoughtful details made it a nice night out. We'd definitely come back! read more

Service was okay - it was hard to get a waiter's attention & we didn't get much service aside from the food being brought to our table/occasional water refills. We ordered the crispy calamari which was fine (not the most crispy or flavorful) but the asparagus salad was refreshing and well seasoned. For entrees, we got the chicken parmesan and seafood pasta. The chicken parm was mediocre but the seafood pasta was good, had a nice flavor and a good amount of seafood. I think the highlight of the meal was the dessert - the chocolate lava cake and banana foster bread pudding were delicious! Would recommend coming here for the views (and dessert). I ordered the chicken parmesan with the mocktail version of a paloma - both extremely delicious. The chicken parm plate was a great portion. Came here for a celebration dinner. Was for a birthday, and made reservations for 2. The front desk host "Monique", or if that's even her name; greeted us and walked us to our table. She was a bit nonchalant and didn't take my request quite responsively when I asked her if we can move to the main table next to us. She did go back to the front, checked, and notified us it was reserved. But then the issue came when I was speaking to her and she walked right back to the front while I was speaking, out loud, and respectfully. We were at Moonraker for an hour or so, and the main seats next to us were not filled until my entire course, check, and tab was cleared. She could have sat us there, it was not that busy for that small window we asked, and we were a small party. When I had attempted to let her know that "It's ok, we will sit here", and just kind of take no for the answer, Monique, did not bother to even look back, she looked quite fed up. She makes Moonraker look pretty much unprofessional, which lowers the quality of service, and the perception of this restaurants beauty. Management should look into providing all services to all customers properly. We were a young couple, but that does not mean we get brushed off and ignored when we're all trying to be cordial and respectful. The moment we drove up to Moonraker the ocean spray and tides were jaw dropping. We walked into Moonraker for our reservation and we were floored that anywhere in the restaurant had an amazing ocean view. The Food! The Food! The Food! Excellent!!! Simply Excellent. First, everyone must try the Duck Fat Truffle French Fries, They come with a special mustard sauce that is out of this world! The Prawn Cocktail was dense and meaty like Lobster. So good. We also shared the Oysters on the half shell and the Oyster Rockefeller which was very good. The Oyster Rockefeller was a bit salty for my best friend, but he ate them all without issue. We also ordered the Filet of Petrale Sole which was head and shoulders above the crowd. If I had to mention one downside, our waiter Alvaro never introduced himself or stated his name initially. He simply took our order. I had to ask him his name. Other than that he did a very good job and was very attentive. My best friend and I already planned to come back before we even left. I had lunch here last Saturday. They open exactly at 12 noon and not a minute earlier. Ordered the New York Strip Steak with Lobster Mac & Cheese. I told them to cook the steak medium rare but it came out medium. That's fine as the steak was still good and juicy. Lobster Mac & Cheese was good too. A couple of good sized lobster meat in it. For desert, I got the Blood Orange Sorbet. I loved the subtle, sweet tart taste to it. The food was great but I think the best part of this restaurant was that it was right up near the breaking waves. It seemed to be high tide too so sometimes a big, breaking wave would crash against the windows. The tables are oriented so that you have a wonderful view of the ocean.
