Moo tea is a good option if you are shopping at 168 or CVS, or dining at one of the restaurants in this plaza. Parking is plentiful. I haven't been to moo tea in a really long time. I was craving boba and was already getting groceries at 168 market. I ordered the Jasmine milk tea with boba. The staff member asked me if I wanted regular boba or brown sugar boba. I was confused why there is even 2 options. Most places just have brown sugar as their default. Does that mean the regular boba isn't sweeter? I didn't want to find out what regular meant so I opted for brown sugar boba. I would say overall the drink was 7/10 for me.
Not too many places now a days where you can get a good boba tea for under $5. Located in the CVS shopping center on the corner of New Avenue and Valley Blvd. Plenty of parking in the shopping center. Most of the teas are $4 then $0.50 per topping. Nice clean store order at the kiosk.
Got the purple yam drink. It was alright & I thought it was a little on the sweet side. However the hubby loved it. The boba is soft and ofc, extra pudding topping to make it more special. The color looks very dark/deep, so I wonder if they added extra coloring.
I chose this spot because it had the highest ratings in a 2-3 block radius, but I was unfortunately disappointed. Despite being short-staffed--with only one person handling both orders and prep--the drink turnover was okay. Usually, high volume means fresh pearls, but unfortunately this was the hardest boba I've had in years. Maybe the brown sugar boba is better, but the regular boba definitely missed the mark.
Came here on a Saturday afternoon and ordered at the kiosk. I had an ube brown sugar boba and taro milk and my friend had the purple yam cheese smoothie. There were a few customers ahead of us and the drinks took about 10 minutes to come out. There are 7 tables in this shop and they had a backdrop to take pics which was cute. While the drinks had a vibrant purple color, the taste was very mild. There was only a very faint taro taste in my drink and the bobas were slightly hard. My friend also felt the same about her drink. Maybe the taste of the drinks were affected because we both ordered our drinks 50% sweet. Not sure, but we were a tad disappointed. This shop is in the same parking lot as 168 so there is plenty of parking.
I got the Moo fruit tea and figured there's no way this can taste bad right? Unfortunately, it tastes like there's soap in there. Not sure if it's the tea that enhanced that soapy taste mixed in with fruits. Also, there was sooooo much fruits and jelly in there. It was like eating a meal rather than having a drink lol I was reading reviews after and maybe I should've got the purple yam drink to try. Sounds like that was a customer fave. Might come back to try it, might not. Prices were pretty low compared to a lot of other spots. The store was pretty spacious with seating all around. Plenty parking available in the plaza shared with stores like cvs.
Moo Tea is located in the same plaza as 168 Market (that used to be Von's a very long time ago) with plenty of parking. My husband and I were looking to get some tea in the area, which led us here. Based on the prices on the menu, I was surprised to find a tea house in SGV that still has prices under $5 (prior to tax) around. When we came in this past Saturday, around 2:10 pm, we were greeted by the one employee behind the counter. After looking at the menu, we ended up ordering: Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea, $4.75 prior to tax- I decided to get this milk tea drink and to have it made with 50% sweetener and no ice. I thought the drink was pretty good. It was smooth and the tea was nice. Honeydew Milk Tea, $4.50 prior to tax- My husband ordered this drink to be made with 50% sweetener and no ice like me. He liked his drink (I didn't try any). -------------------------------- (Total= $10.20 after tax) We were the only ones inside when we ordered and when we left. It took a little less than 10 minutes for both our drinks to be made. While we waited, I used the restroom. The single restroom was clean and also I liked the color of the walls painted inside. Overall, this tea house is pretty good and definitely will be coming back in the near future. I will mention that as another fellow Yelp member had mentioned, you can smell a very strong smell upon entering the store. I don't know if it is just brewed tea but it was a bitter smell and very heavy in the air.
I've always encountered good customer service whenever I come here. The staff is helpful to answer all my questions and preferences. The place is spacious and part of a plaza parking lot so there's always seats. I like their music choices here.
I ordered the signature Purple Yam Milk Tea with Cheese Foam with 25% sweetness and no ice. However, due to the type of the drink, it can't be done with no ice but the staff was very accommodating by going as easy on the ice as possible. The ube was very creamy and you can feel the rusty chunky throughout the entire drink, which is how I actually prefer over the smooth texture most boba places go for nowadays. The sweetness level was perfect, complimenting the natural light sweetness and creaminess of ube; and the cheese foam added a nice touch of savoriness to the entire drink. The staff also made a cute heart shape on the drink
Love their Purple Yam Milk! Seriously can't find any place that serves it better much less serve it period.
Great value boba drinks. A standard milk tea is less than $5. Cheaper than a lot of the expensive boba places but the drink quality is better than at most places. One of the few places that still sells boba for only $0.50. I came here because I love purple yam (ube) and not many places make ube drinks. There's always taro drinks, but almost never ube. Having tried two of their purple yam drinks, I think it's just okay, namely because the purple yam didn't have much flavor. I prefer the more concentrated earthy flavors found in ube lattes, and this wasn't quite like it. It's basically fresh milk with starchy ube lining the cup. Their #1 best seller is the Purple Yam Milk Tea with Cheese Foam, but I found the cheese foam to be way too salty for my liking. I prefer the Purple Yam Milk Tea with Pudding and Boba. Boba was good, it had a slight sweetness and was pretty springy, and I liked the milk they used. I'm glad I found this place for its value and quality, but I haven't quite found the right drink that makes me want to add to my boba rotation.
My drink was 99% fresh milk and the smallest amount of yam. Not busy at all on a Saturday afternoon. Wouldn't recommend.
My love for the purple yam fresh milk here knows no end. Outside of Hong Kong boba stores, this place serves the freshest and best purple yam fresh milk in the SGV. Nothing beats a healthy amount of freshly pureed purple yam with refreshing fresh milk mixed together to make a perfectly (and naturally) sweet drink. I usually order my purple yam fresh milk at 25% sweetness with less ice and no toppings, just to enjoy the fullness of the purple yam. It's usually never crowded here, so you won't have to wait for long. This place also serves as a very nice quiet study spot, so if you're looking for that in the area you've come to the right place!
(DRINK) The purple yam is hella different from what I'm used to. It's good, but it ain't "First try Fridays" good. It'll take some getting used to for me. Just imagine a purple yam smoothie with milk. The boba was mediocre AF. It's too tough and not sweet enough. Or maybe the yam was so sweet it overpowered the boba. (SERVICE) Faster than Usain Bolt because I was the only one there. (VENUE) It's a cute little place tucked in the plaza next to 168 Market. - 2 for peasant boba. +1 for funny store name. read more

Moo Tea is one of the most solid (yet underrated?) boba stores around. Overall my rating is a 4.5, rounded up to a 5. It is located quaintly next to the 168 Market, and is really low key - a true hidden gem that you simply have to try. The tea is great quality, the boba is consistently al dente with the right amount of resistance, and the quality of sweetness is not noticeably artificial. One of the most try drinks is the strawberry yakult milkshake. It has the classic yogurt - cheesy - dairy flavor that approaches that of cream cheese frosting, and the strawberry flavor is really refreshing. It is almost the classic yogurt flavor that you experience in Chinese yogurts that you essentially cannot find in American stores. This drink is a 5/5. I have also had their milk teas extensively, and they are pretty classic and standard, with every component done well. 4/5 as there is nothing mind blowing. read more
I wanted something after dinner but didn't know what so my friend suggested boba. I found this place and wanted to try it because of the purple yam. They are located in the same parking lot, to the left of CVS. They have their menu taped to the windows and social distancing signs. The staff wear face masks and there's a hand sanitizer on the counter. They weren't very talkative. They did offer a boba stamp card (collect 10 stamps to receive one free drink of any flavor). My friend and I both got the purple yam. She got it with boba and I got mine with pudding. The beverages were tasty. Not too sweet. The purple yam was mostly at the bottom and stuck to the insides of the cup. So I used the straw to get it away from the inside of the cup and mix it. My friend gave me a couple bobas to try from her drink before she started. When she drank it I asked what she thought of the boba, and she said it was too hard. I'm glad I got to try it myself as well, and I thought the same thing. She ended up not eating the boba from her drink. My pudding was the right consistency. read more
I've been back in the 626 area for a few months and wanted to try out some local boba places that abundantly opened up and are all new. This place was on my list. From the reviews, I thought I'd give the purple yam drink a try and although I was not disappointed, I was not EXTREMELY impressed. I thought the drink itself was pretty good and unique in that I don't think other boba places have the purple yam drink but I again, it was good but I just wasn't a HUGE fan. I got my dad the pineapple with yakult foam and I think he felt the same way. It was good but not the best he had. We have been more recently going to another boba place nearby and comparing all the drinks to that place so we are biased since our standard has been set. Overall very decent place to come and try out some new unique flavors that I don't think any other tea places has! Just give it a try, you might love it! read more

/)/) ( . .) ( づ one of the best fruit teas here for sure!!! Always get the peach tea with yakult foam. So so so good! I get no sugar because for me it's already sweet enough how it is. There are real peach pieces inside. It's so refreshing and yummy! Def one of the better boba places out there. read more

I ordered three purple yam milks with pudding and boba. I ordered them with less sugar but the purple yam was pretty sweet. You have to shake it up good or mix it really well before drinking. Milk oozed out as soon as I stuck the straw in. It was good but too sweet. Maybe next time I'll ask for half sweet. read more

This small place in the plaza with CVS and 168 market has changed several times. Moo Tea is a boba tea place that stands out with Purple Yam and Peach drinks, which I haven't really seen in the boba places that have popped up around here. They have a select menu, which helps in choosing drinks and the price isn't extravagant. Right now there is a BOGO50 going on! The Peach Oolong Milk Tea was really refreshing and not heavy at all. Their yogurt foam is similar to Yakult and is a tangy, unique flavor. The yogurt foam is probably an acquired taste too, so give it a chance! The only possible issue for some is that they do NOT do ice adjustments! Keep that in mind before going. read more

O-M-G!!! I ordered from moo tea today and saw that they're doing a promotion M-F until the end of the month!! There's the purple yam milk with boba and pudding and the other strawberry milk drink that's BOGO. Get the deal and share with your friends before it ends~ unfortunately I didn't see the poster and had to pay full price .. read more
This is my first time trying Moo Tea and it's not bad. I would get their White Peach Oolong Milk Tea again. It has a lighter taste to it but I could still taste the peach and oolong! I really wanted to like the Purple Yam Fresh Milk since it was their top one drink but it literally just tasted like milk. I didn't taste the ube part. Since I liked the peach drink I would come back again and try their other drinks. read more
This place is sooooo cute! I ordered the purple yam drink for me and a friend (one with pudding + boba and one with just boba) and they drew hearts on the side of the cup :') The drink has real yam puree which was super delicious and the sweetness level was perfect (adjustable 0-100). I drive here from ktown just for boba ^^ read more
New boba shop with interesting varieties. At this point, I'm just glad there's someplace new near me to change up what I've been having during COVID, and this place doesn't disappoint. The purple yam fresh milk with cream and pineapple tea with yogurt foam we tried were both not only cute to look at, but very tasty. I like how they use real fresh ingredients in the drinks, so it's worth the tiny wait for drinks. There's actual chunks like pineapple bits! I believe the BOGO 50% deal off is ending soon, but still worth a try and grab a stamp card on the way out. Good service and easy parking within the 168 supermarket lot. Worth coming back. read more

This new tea place replaced Lady Bug, which was also a boba place. Currently for July and August they are having their grand opening, which is a discount for buy one get one 50% off. I ordered two top items: Ube Milk and Peach Tea with Cheese Foam. I thought the size of the cups were nice, the to go bags, and they drinks were decently good. I especially liked there was real ube and fruit in the teas. The one thing they could work on is their boba. It wasn't as chewy or honey tasting the way I like it. They have a limited menu, so there wasn't anything my husband wanted. The place looks clean, and they follow safety guidelines. I had to talk in to pick up my drink, so I didn't like that I had to walk inside and wait inside with others for my drink. read more
They have lids!!! As opposed to sealing them. You just have to ask. Honestly the lids made me like this place a lot more because it was easier to drink the drinks. My brother got the Jasmine Green Milk Tea and loved it !!! They also do light ice/no ice if you ask and still fill it all the way up :) read more

I've had this place multiple times (both delivery and pickup) and they never fail to deliver! I'm a really big fan of their yakult foam drinks, I've never had anything like it at another boba shop. I wouldn't say it tastes exactly like yakult, but it is a really nice peachy, creamy, slightly tangy flavor that is just as good to me. I like to get mine half sweet with lychee jelly, and I find that it's the perfect sweetness level for me (as someone who prefers less sweet drinks). I've never had the purple yam drink before this, but it's soo good and I see why it's so popular. I was initially hesitant to try this because I figured taro and purple yam would be similar in taste, and I'm not a very big fan of taro, but I really enjoyed it! If you're looking for something on the creamier side, this should be your go-to! It almost tastes like marshmallows to me (?) but more subtle and a little earthier. The flavor is very mellow and not too sweet, which I appreciated. It's hard to explain, but I would absolutely get this one again! read more

Purple Yam Fresh Milk / Lychee Tea with Yakult Foam $5.75 Top drinks at this fairly new spot! The purple yam is their #1 drink. It's milk with purple yam purée I believe and it wasn't bad! Pretty good if you like yams and surprisingly not too sweet. I haven't seen a place serve yogurt foam before and it's good! Imagine fluffy yakult on top of a lychee drink definitely recommend 50% sugar or less. A bit overpriced but worth a try! read more

If you like ube, you'll love Moo Tea I had the Purple Yam Fresh Milk with Boba and Pudding. You can really tell they blended up a yam and put it in your drink LOL It's pretty earthy, but I like that a lot. I got 75% sweet and it was perfect for me. I kinda have a sweet tooth though, so maybe get 50%. read more

Thank you for sharing your experience at Moo Tea. The reason you saw…
I heard that this place just opened a few weeks ago and decided to come try it out. They didn't have a lot of fruit teas which is what I usually look for but I saw that they had a Purple Yam drink and as a huge fan of purple yam I was all for it. They have a special BOGO 50% off until the end of August. We ordered the Purple Yam Fresh Milk and the Lychee Tea with yogurt foam, both half sugar. They came out really pretty! Purple Yam Fresh Milk: I really enjoyed this drink because I love the taste of purple yam!! I took the first sip without mixing it and it was a wonderful, strong taste of purple yam. I don't like milk by itself so after mixing the drink it got a little too milky for me, but the taste of purple yam was still there so it was okay. Lychee Tea with Yogurt Foam: This drink was still really sweet even though I asked for half sweetness, but the taste was still amazing! The yogurt foam mixed well with the lychee and I really liked the lychee bits in the drink. Overall Moo Tea makes really good and pretty drinks, but personally I wouldn't come back for it. I still recommend coming to try this place if you're a fan of purple yam or yogurt and cheese foam! read more
I ordered the purple yam milk with cheese foam and peach oolong tea with cheese foam. The yam milk is one of their signatures but I think it's too heavy for me, and I can't seem to drink the bottom half of the drink and it was too think. The peach oolong is very good and mixed very well with the cheese foam. I would recommend the latter! read more

I wasn't sure if I wanted to post this or not, since I prob came on an off day. I ordered purple yam cheese foam and matcha cheese foam smoothie drinks. The purple yam is their most popular but it was actually the worst drink I've ever had at any store. It did not taste like purple yam which sucks but the worst part was actually the drink only tasted like cheese foam even after mixing. If I hadn't left I would've asked for a different drink. This drink literally tasted like straight up cheese and it was gross lol I took it home and added a bunch of milk to it and after that I had a mild cheese milk drink, lucky me Now I know the problem isn't my taste buds Cuze we ordered a matcha cheese foam and that one was pretty good. Not the best but satisfactory. 2 stars for matcha lol read more

Wow I am so pleasantly surprised! On my venture to try as many boba places as possible, I just happened to choose this place and already can't wait to go back ! (: One star off just because the yakult foam was a little much haha - two of us got drinks with it and : one of us didn't mix it enough so by the end it was all yakult foam which was only okay, so the other of us mixed some in, but found we didn't need all of it or the tea got too milky and overpowered. I'd definitely come back and order my same drink, just without yakult foam! The boba wasn't bad and the drinks came out super fast (: P.S. the plaza has a lot of parking so it's easy to get to ! read more

The purple potato drink is made with real potatoes and whole milk! Super yummy drink, I tasted the actual potato puree. This drink came with egg pudding and boba which made for a great combo. Will say this drink is quite filling and not overly sweet. If you're in the area try this place out :) read more

We happen to be in the 168 market plaza & was craving boba & saw this place. I decided to try their signature drink, the purple yam fresh milk with boba. It was surprisingly pretty good. If you like ube, you will like this drink. It was just the right amount of sweetness. It was quite thick so make sure you shake it & mix the milk with ube so it's less thick. The boba was good too, sweet & soft. My husband ordered the green tea with boba. He really enjoyed his drink too! read more

I've been visiting Moo Tea since 2019 and their drinks have been consistently delicious. The store is located in the same plaza as CVS so parking is easy to find. On to the drinks, my family and I always get their Purple Yam Fresh Milk w/ boba, pudding. You can control sweetness and ice levels as well. We always get half sugar and it taste just as divine. You'd enjoy this drink if you are a fan of ube and it's sweet, potato taste. There's hardly any wait at this place so service is fast. This is one of our top boba shops in the area, next to Happy Lemon. Try this place for a twist for your typical boba drinks! read more
I usually love milk tea, and I love purple yam, but I could not finish the purple yam with fresh milk. It had a weird flavor like perfume. I couldn't get the after taste off tongue. I gave my drink to my husband. His caramel milk tea with dalgona coffee was okay. It wasn't special. read more

The purple yam with cheese foam and boba is one of my top 3! It is a thicker consistency than other purple yam drinks I've had at other places and I LOVE that about it. Their boba is cooked to perfection, on most days. The cheese foam is always frothy and creamy. A great drink over all. My other top 3 are the Lychee with cheese foam. It has bits of lychee in it, so I feel it's like an extra topping and then white peach tea - has the right amount of peach flavor. I appreciate that the place is always clean and now the owner has a buy one drink get the other half off during the week special. read more
