Moo tea is a good option if you are shopping at 168 or CVS, or dining at one of the restaurants in this plaza. Parking is plentiful. I haven't been to moo tea in a really long time. I was craving boba and was already getting groceries at 168 market. I ordered the Jasmine milk tea with boba. The staff member asked me if I wanted regular boba or brown sugar boba. I was confused why there is even 2 options. Most places just have brown sugar as their default. Does that mean the regular boba isn't sweeter? I didn't want to find out what regular meant so I opted for brown sugar boba. I would say overall the drink was 7/10 for me.
Not too many places now a days where you can get a good boba tea for under $5. Located in the CVS shopping center on the corner of New Avenue and Valley Blvd. Plenty of parking in the shopping center. Most of the teas are $4 then $0.50 per topping. Nice clean store order at the kiosk.
Got the purple yam drink. It was alright & I thought it was a little on the sweet side. However the hubby loved it. The boba is soft and ofc, extra pudding topping to make it more special. The color looks very dark/deep, so I wonder if they added extra coloring.
I chose this spot because it had the highest ratings in a 2-3 block radius, but I was unfortunately disappointed. Despite being short-staffed--with only one person handling both orders and prep--the drink turnover was okay. Usually, high volume means fresh pearls, but unfortunately this was the hardest boba I've had in years. Maybe the brown sugar boba is better, but the regular boba definitely missed the mark.
Came here on a Saturday afternoon and ordered at the kiosk. I had an ube brown sugar boba and taro milk and my friend had the purple yam cheese smoothie. There were a few customers ahead of us and the drinks took about 10 minutes to come out. There are 7 tables in this shop and they had a backdrop to take pics which was cute. While the drinks had a vibrant purple color, the taste was very mild. There was only a very faint taro taste in my drink and the bobas were slightly hard. My friend also felt the same about her drink. Maybe the taste of the drinks were affected because we both ordered our drinks 50% sweet. Not sure, but we were a tad disappointed. This shop is in the same parking lot as 168 so there is plenty of parking.
I got the Moo fruit tea and figured there's no way this can taste bad right? Unfortunately, it tastes like there's soap in there. Not sure if it's the tea that enhanced that soapy taste mixed in with fruits. Also, there was sooooo much fruits and jelly in there. It was like eating a meal rather than having a drink lol I was reading reviews after and maybe I should've got the purple yam drink to try. Sounds like that was a customer fave. Might come back to try it, might not. Prices were pretty low compared to a lot of other spots. The store was pretty spacious with seating all around. Plenty parking available in the plaza shared with stores like cvs.
Moo Tea is located in the same plaza as 168 Market (that used to be Von's a very long time ago) with plenty of parking. My husband and I were looking to get some tea in the area, which led us here. Based on the prices on the menu, I was surprised to find a tea house in SGV that still has prices under $5 (prior to tax) around. When we came in this past Saturday, around 2:10 pm, we were greeted by the one employee behind the counter. After looking at the menu, we ended up ordering: Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea, $4.75 prior to tax- I decided to get this milk tea drink and to have it made with 50% sweetener and no ice. I thought the drink was pretty good. It was smooth and the tea was nice. Honeydew Milk Tea, $4.50 prior to tax- My husband ordered this drink to be made with 50% sweetener and no ice like me. He liked his drink (I didn't try any). -------------------------------- (Total= $10.20 after tax) We were the only ones inside when we ordered and when we left. It took a little less than 10 minutes for both our drinks to be made. While we waited, I used the restroom. The single restroom was clean and also I liked the color of the walls painted inside. Overall, this tea house is pretty good and definitely will be coming back in the near future. I will mention that as another fellow Yelp member had mentioned, you can smell a very strong smell upon entering the store. I don't know if it is just brewed tea but it was a bitter smell and very heavy in the air.
I've always encountered good customer service whenever I come here. The staff is helpful to answer all my questions and preferences. The place is spacious and part of a plaza parking lot so there's always seats. I like their music choices here.
I ordered the signature Purple Yam Milk Tea with Cheese Foam with 25% sweetness and no ice. However, due to the type of the drink, it can't be done with no ice but the staff was very accommodating by going as easy on the ice as possible. The ube was very creamy and you can feel the rusty chunky throughout the entire drink, which is how I actually prefer over the smooth texture most boba places go for nowadays. The sweetness level was perfect, complimenting the natural light sweetness and creaminess of ube; and the cheese foam added a nice touch of savoriness to the entire drink. Great value boba drinks. A standard milk tea is less than $5. Cheaper than a lot of the expensive boba places but the drink quality is better than at most places. One of the few places that still sells boba for only $0.50. I came here because I love purple yam (ube) and not many places make ube drinks. There's always taro drinks, but almost never ube. Having tried two of their purple yam drinks, I think it's just okay, namely because the purple yam didn't have much flavor. I prefer the more concentrated earthy flavors found in ube lattes, and this wasn't quite like it. It's basically fresh milk with starchy ube lining the cup. Their #1 best seller is the Purple Yam Milk Tea with Cheese Foam, but I found the cheese foam to be way too salty for my liking. I prefer the Purple Yam Milk Tea with Pudding and Boba. Boba was good, it had a slight sweetness and was pretty springy, and I liked the milk they used. I'm glad I found this place for its value and quality, but I haven't quite found the right drink that makes me want to add to my boba rotation.
My drink was 99% fresh milk and the smallest amount of yam. Not busy at all on a Saturday afternoon. Wouldn't recommend.
My love for the purple yam fresh milk here knows no end. Outside of Hong Kong boba stores, this place serves the freshest and best purple yam fresh milk in the SGV. Nothing beats a healthy amount of freshly pureed purple yam with refreshing fresh milk mixed together to make a perfectly (and naturally) sweet drink. I usually order my purple yam fresh milk at 25% sweetness with less ice and no toppings, just to enjoy the fullness of the purple yam. It's usually never crowded here, so you won't have to wait for long. This place also serves as a very nice quiet study spot, so if you're looking for that in the area you've come to the right place!

This spot has quite a few unique flavors. If you like cheese foam drinks or purple yam drinks you'll appreciate this place. I ordered milk tea and it was a bit watery and the boba was not super fresh. It was in the evening so maybe that's why. While my drink was ok, the customer service was very friendly! Came on a weekend night and it was empty. Parking is super easy as it is located in a grocery shopping plaza. Drinks came out in about 15minutes. 10/10 Lychee Tea w/ Yakult Foam - Must get! Super refreshing, has lychee bits, and lychee flavor is dominant. 7/10 Purple Yam w/ cheese foam - was a good try but just ok in the end. Wouldn't get again. 9/10 Caramel Milk Tea w/ Dalgona Coffee - coffee flavor was a great mix. Can be a bit sweet but just adjust it to liking. 7/10 Purple Yam Cheese smoothie - was a good try but just ok in the end. Today, I was feeling moovelous! And in the moo-d for a milky milk tea. So without further ado let's begin this review. ;D Lol. Moo Tea is a lil cute boba tea thang that will make you Mooan for more. It's located in a large plaza between south of New Ave and Valley blvd. We were looking for a new boba adventure and found this new boba spot. And what a better way to subserve a nascent business is to give a Yelp review. Indoor atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. It's very neat, organized, well lit and very spacious. They have good selection of teas, smoothies and toppings. I ordered Purple Yam Fresh Milk with boba and pudding, one of their top six popular drinks. Prices seem fair and highly competitive. Staff were affable, competent, followed health protocol and professional. Service was decorous. Parking was relatively easy given it's in a large shopping plaza. Overall, I enjoyed my boba milk tea and will definitely come back. I highly recommend this tea place. read more

Purple Yam is a new trend lately!! You can easily find it in many dessert/drink places everywhere. I personally LOVE it so much and probably will never get tired of it Found this refreshing and yummy purple yam drink that is located in a shopping plaza on Valley Blvd. in Alhambra city. Nice and clean interior decor as you walk in with neat and cozy indoor seating. Staffs are friendly and welcoming. One of my favorites! Whenever my friends are in the area, I always recommend trying Moo Tea. At this point, I've tried most of the top drinks. My picks always include the ones with Yakult foam. For instance, peach tea with Yakult, strawberry tea with Yakult, and lychee with Yakult are super solid drinks. I think Moo tea is one of the few places that have this unique foam flavor, and I definitely think it's worth coming here to try. I prefer it to the more common cheese foams because it's lighter, tangy, and pairs so well with a fruit-based tea. This place also includes pieces of the fruit in the drinks themselves, making them taste a lot less artificial. Furthermore, there is plenty of parking in the plaza out in front. Will be a frequent customer as long as I'm in the area! read more

This is the best boba place I've tried in the SGV area. I've tried different types of milk tea bobas in LA and nothing hits like this one. The milk tea is so delicious and refreshing and the bobas are so sweet and chewy just how they should be. I like that you can choose different sweetness levels. I've tried the 75% and it does not taste watery like other places I've tried. Friendly staff and owner, great customer service, great deals and family owned. Also, this is a great spot to hang out with friends and/or work remotely. If you are ever looking for a great boba spot in the San Gabriel Valley come and visit this shop and support a local business! Trust me you will not be disappointed. Also, this place is located in a shopping center so there is plenty of parking spaces which is a big plus. read more

I have to preface this review by saying I don't like to give 3 stars especially for small businesses. But I felt this review was necessary to get my message across to the owners of this place of what happened to one of our drinks, so it happens to be mine. We came here yesterday and got a few drinks on our way home. Some of their popular ones like their matcha latte, peach tea with yakult foam, and of course their ever famous purple yam fresh milk. I got to try the peach tea, it was terrific. The uniqueness of the yakult foam tasted good, but it wasn't my drink. So the purple yam fresh milk tea I got tasted ok at first. You get a big gush of milk in the beginning. Then I realized you should mix it around with your straw. Apparently you need their big straw to do this as this mixture is quite thick. But what I ended up tasting in my drink was a small piece of plastic. A purple piece of plastic not longer than 1/2 inch. I'm not the type of person that would be deterred by hair, or something that can be easily taken out. But apparently I had it again on another sip but this time the plastic was more of a shredded piece. Last night, I had a bit of a pain in my stomach and not sure if this was the culprit but it was pretty much the only thing I had the past 12 hours. I am not sure how they make this drink here, and I am not sure if I was an isolated incident but I can't say I would return here again. MOO TEA IS MY NEW FAVE BOBA PLACE. DO NOT TAKE THIS LIGHTLY. I've tried many many drinks from here before making this review and I just love the balance of flavors, how the drinks aren't too sweet, and how the boba is PERFECTLY chewy every time!! I love drinks that are super creamy but can still taste the tea and that is the strawberry black milk tea!! I get mine 50% sweet and it is absolutely delicious Some other drinks I really love are the osmanthus oolong tea, peach/lychee tea with yakult foam, and the strawberry yakult smoothie!! All very tasty and refreshing!! But honestly, I think you can't go wrong with any drink from here. The drinks came out super fast and I liked using the electric kiosk so I can see all the pics of the drinks LOL Some additional pluses: there's a clean bathroom, Wi-Fi, and nice tables to sit at--will for sure be back to work! Decided to try out this local tea shop! Cute little shop with spacious indoor dining. It was very quiet in the store, so this would be a great spot to study with a nice drink! I got the #2 of their top ten, peach tea with Yakult foam (I got mine at half sugar). My drink was definitely not half sugar, but it was still pretty good. It was certainly on the sweeter end. The Yakult foam had a nice salted zing to it. I love how there were peach chunks at the bottom, but it was too difficult to drink it through my straw towards the end. I heard that they are well known for their purple yam drinks. I was told that there were delicious yam bits in it, which sounds very intriguing. I will be sure to swing by again to try that out! read more
I stopped by this spot after hearing about it online. They staff is very friendly. But the drinks are very average compared to other boba spots around town. I had the peach yakult (peaches tastes like it came from a can?) and purple yam milk (is like eating soft yam with milk)-- both lacking in flavor. The boba was also very hard. read more

Yum, this place is so good! My husband found this place in an LA times article, so we made sure to check it out while we were in the area. I tried the purple yam, fresh milk with boba and pudding. This drink was refreshing and the boba was fresh and chewy. We came as they opened at noon on a Sunday , so we were the only ones in the store. Based off the quality and taste, I would imagine this place gets pretty busy. Customer service was great and drinks were made quickly. When I'm in the area again, I'll be sure to drop by . read more

Wow, I am pleasantly surprised by Moo Tea! Honestly speaking, I really dont care for ube or purple yam much and I rather eat original Korean pumpkin sweet potato any day but I really enjoyed the Purple Yam Fresh Milk prepared by Moo Tea. Even when I lived in Hawaii where ube is almost everywhere, I really didnt care for it. I actually didnt like it from the looks of it because it just looks unappetizing to me because its PURPLE (I do like the color purple because I am ARMY) and is too dry. But!! Purple Yam Fresh Milk has completely changed my preference! OMG, I really really loved it! I was surprised how generous they are with the purple yam in your drink because its a whole lot. After you give it a good shake and is mixed well thoroughly, it becomes heavenly! Its super creamy and yet not too sweet nor overpowering. Price was less than $5 which is very affordable knowing most of drinks nowadays are over $5 almost everywhere you go. My mom loves sweet potatoes and she hardly ever drinks anything besides coffee but I think she will definitely enjoy this drink like myself. I am going to bring her here and I have told a few of my friends about this place already. Even if you dont care for ube like me, please go try it because it will definitely change that! Moo Tea is one of my favorite Top 3 milk tea spots. They are the best at purple yam drinks. I've ALWAYS ordered their Jasmine Green Tea with Cheese Foam, but today, I decided to give another item a try - and it did NOT disappoint. The best part is that you can customize the sweetness level. I don't like drinks/desserts that are too sweet, so I recommend toning it down if you are watching your sugar intake. The pudding was delicious along with the boba. Their drinks are so creamy with the fresh milk. There is an abundance of parking and the workers are nice (they turned on music in the background for us when they noticed we were just chilling and talking inside). It's a hidden gem tucked in the plaza long with 168 market and CVS. read more

We found this spot on Yelp because we weren't familiar with the area, and it was a unique find! The menu had many items we were curious about and we ended up ordering the purple yam with fresh milk, pudding, and boba. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but the drink was surprising. Simply put, the texture was dense. With all that was going on in the cup, I felt like I was simultaneously trying to drink and eat. I personally enjoyed the experience of trying something new, and the flavors were good in my opinion! My girlfriend, on the other hand, was not a fan; but to each their own! This review comes from a person who DOES NOT DRINK BOBA However I tried the purple yam drink #1 and even though it had a radioactive purple color, it tasted really good. You really don't have to adjust the sweetness. It's probably a 5-6 on a scale of 10. Only ONE SIZE of cup available. They do have a stamp card so be sure to keep that in your wallet. The first 2 times, the drink had lots of creamy purple yam and pudding. The 3rd time I got it it had about half of what I was already used to so it would be nice if it was more consistent. It was our first time here and we ordered their peach tea with yakult foam and dalgona coffee cheese frappe to-go. Service was fast and friendly! Prices are decent for most drinks and a little pricier for a few. Peach tea with yakult foam: Very yummy! I would say this is a good desserts drink because it's very sweet. There was cut pieces of canned peaches floating in the drink too. I enjoyed that since I love fruit bits, even if it's canned. I couldn't really tell that this drink was a "tea" because of the sweetness and yakult. I was only able to drank a little less than half of it because it got a little too heavy for me. I probably wouldn't reorder this drink personally because it's a tad too sweet for me to drink entirely, and I prefer stronger tea flavors. However, if you like yogurty drinks and canned peaches, this is a good choice. It reminds me a little bit of yoplait in peach flavor,but in a more watery form. Overall 4/5. Dalgona Coffee Cheese Frappe: Nice coffee flavor, but not very strong. Perhaps, I'm just used to drinking expressos, vietnamese, and thai coffees, so this drink felt very mild in coffee flavor for me. It reminded me of drinking a less-sweet version of starbuck's Java chip frappe (without the whipped cream and chocolate inside). I couldn't really taste the cheese foam much, but overall this drink is decent if you like coffee and ice blended drinks, 4/5. read more

The good: I tried a pineapple tea with yogurt foam on top. This is the first place I've ever seen have yogurt foam. It is so delicious. I could easily drink an entire cup of just yogurt foam. It has the tart and tangy flavor of Asian yogurt. The tea had pineapple chunks. I didn't adjust the sweetness on mine but it was the perfect amount of sweetness. The shop has benches outside by palm trees and flowers so you can enjoy your drink outside. The menu is simple and offers many tea options. I don't know if they had different drink sizes but their standard size is very tall. My drink was made quickly. The bad: There are no food items on their menu. The interesting: They offer stamp cards so you can get discounts after buying a certain number of drinks. read more

o8.21.2o Boba milktea! We haven't had them for awhile. I don't generally drink it because it's so fatten, but it's good to have once in awhile. My sis in law visited us so we can take a break from our baby and also to drop off groceries for us. I just simply mentioned boba since where they live don't have much of Asian restaurants or food just yet. I guess me mentioning it triggered everyone's craving so they looked up for Yelp and found Moo Tea that I've actually have not heard of. So off they went to Moo Tea esp the ube is that attractive. I got the simply jasmine green tea with boba half sugar. I got half sugar because all boba shops tend to make the tea super sweet but that wasn't a good idea here. Lol Maybe I'll go for 75 percent next time. The ube and cheese matcha were good. I have to say, this is one of the better boba shops I have tried and with the pandemic still happening, they maintain the quality very well. :) read more

Unusual and great taste combination. Purple yam is a thick consistency so don't be surprised if you can't mix the drink by shaking it. Just mix it with your straw - Peach Tea with Yogurt foam (4/5): There are plenty of drinks out there with cheese foam but this is the only one I know with yogurt foam. I ordered with 0% sugar and add boba but somehow it's still on the sweet side for me. Boba is rather hard. Will I come back to try their different drinks? Yes, most likely I will! read more

Saw this new spot in my area and decided to give it a try! The purple drink reeled me in! Came around 7:30pm on Wednesday with plenty of parking in the plaza lot. The place is super clean and bright. They made us feel safe during covid. They have mask on and wore new gloves when serving us. Drink : I ordered their top drinks which is number 1 purple yam fresh milk with cheese foam. I also ordered another purple yam fresh milk but no cheese foam for my mom. My boyfriend got the regular milk tea. ( you can adjust the sweetness level!!) Taste amazing!! I love how you can really taste the purple yam! It taste like they use real purple yam and blended into creamy goodness instead of adding flavor extract. I love the consistency, thick and creamy! It is slightly sweetened so I ask for no sweetness added and it was perfect to pair with the fresh milk! The milk tea was not bad at all, good balance of tea and milk. Overall, this place is great and would definitely come back to try other drinks. Service was also great. read more

*Visited During Covid-19* 3.5 stars Saw this place under "Hot & New" and saw that they had a BOGO50 offer here. A colleague had previously gotten me a lychee with cheese foam which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was light, refreshing, and the cheese foam offered a more yogurt-type taste as well. I had then come on my own accord to try their purple yam with cheese foam, with a sugar adjustment of 1/2 sugar and regular ice. The purple yam, unfortunately did not really come until the end, after I finished my drink. The yam itself was good, not sweet, and subtle, but the drink itself tasted watered down and didn't really have any strong flavor coming out of it. The cheese foam was good though, a bit lighter than where you have from other places, but mixed with the yam at the end was the best part of the drink. Now if y'all could work on the drink flavor profile! I had ordered my coworker a matcha cheese smoothie which he claimed to be watered down feeling as well, so I'd probably pass on that as well. I'm probably gonna stay with either their lychee or pineapple teas and go from there. They have BOGO50 til the end of August 2020. The menu is also kinda limited as well. read more

Moo Tea is a new boba shop in the 626 that has unique drink options like purple yam or yogurt foam-topped! I ordered the peach tea with yogurt foam with less sugar: Peach Tea with Yogurt Foam ($5.75): I was pleasantly surprised at how refreshing the drink tasted! The yogurt foam was slightly tart (think yakult) and not as dense as the typical cheese foam. The peach tea itself tasted like actual tea and not syrup, plus there were so many peach chunks inside!! I was honestly shook at how good it was; 5/5 stars Until 8/30 drinks are BOGO 50% off to celebrate their grand opening!! I was able to call in my order for takeout. They only have one size for drinks. Also a note, if you get multiple drinks, the cups don't really fit inside the cup tray. They'll topple over so be careful. There is ample parking as the shop is located in a strip mall. I want to also try their purple yam drink, but it only comes with fresh milk...not good for the lactose intolerant. But I'll be back anyway, especially since they have stamp cards! read more
