Inside has plenty of seating

Moo tea is a good option if you are shopping at 168 or CVS, or dining at one of the restaurants in this plaza. Parking is plentiful. I haven't been to moo tea in a really long time. I was craving boba and was already getting groceries at 168 market. I ordered the Jasmine milk tea with boba. The staff member asked me if I wanted regular boba or brown sugar boba. I was confused why there is even 2 options. Most places just have brown sugar as their default. Does that mean the regular boba isn't sweeter? I didn't want to find out what regular meant so I opted for brown sugar boba. I would say overall the drink was 7/10 for me.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and ordered at the kiosk. I had an ube brown sugar boba and taro milk and my friend had the purple yam cheese smoothie. There were a few customers ahead of us and the drinks took about 10 minutes to come out. There are 7 tables in this shop and they had a backdrop to take pics which was cute. While the drinks had a vibrant purple color, the taste was very mild. There was only a very faint taro taste in my drink and the bobas were slightly hard. My friend also felt the same about her drink. Maybe the taste of the drinks were affected because we both ordered our drinks 50% sweet. Not sure, but we were a tad disappointed. This shop is in the same parking lot as 168 so there is plenty of parking.

Love their Purple Yam Milk! Seriously can't find any place that serves it better much less serve it period.

Not too many places now a days where you can get a good boba tea for under $5. Located in the CVS shopping center on the corner of New Avenue and Valley Blvd. Plenty of parking in the shopping center. Most of the teas are $4 then $0.50 per topping. Nice clean store order at the kiosk.

I chose this spot because it had the highest ratings in a 2-3 block radius, but I was unfortunately disappointed. Despite being short-staffed--with only one person handling both orders and prep--the drink turnover was okay. Usually, high volume means fresh pearls, but unfortunately this was the hardest boba I've had in years. Maybe the brown sugar boba is better, but the regular boba definitely missed the mark.

Got the purple yam drink. It was alright & I thought it was a little on the sweet side. However the hubby loved it. The boba is soft and ofc, extra pudding topping to make it more special. The color looks very dark/deep, so I wonder if they added extra coloring.

I got the Moo fruit tea and figured there's no way this can taste bad right? Unfortunately, it tastes like there's soap in there. Not sure if it's the tea that enhanced that soapy taste mixed in with fruits. Also, there was sooooo much fruits and jelly in there. It was like eating a meal rather than having a drink lol I was reading reviews after and maybe I should've got the purple yam drink to try. Sounds like that was a customer fave. Might come back to try it, might not. Prices were pretty low compared to a lot of other spots. The store was pretty spacious with seating all around. Plenty parking available in the plaza shared with stores like cvs.

Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea, $4.75 prior to tax

Moo Tea is located in the same plaza as 168 Market (that used to be Von's a very long time ago) with plenty of parking. My husband and I were looking to get some tea in the area, which led us here. Based on the prices on the menu, I was surprised to find a tea house in SGV that still has prices under $5 (prior to tax) around. When we came in this past Saturday, around 2:10 pm, we were greeted by the one employee behind the counter. After looking at the menu, we ended up ordering: Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea, $4.75 prior to tax- I decided to get this milk tea drink and to have it made with 50% sweetener and no ice. I thought the drink was pretty good. It was smooth and the tea was nice. Honeydew Milk Tea, $4.50 prior to tax- My husband ordered this drink to be made with 50% sweetener and no ice like me. He liked his drink (I didn't try any). -------------------------------- (Total= $10.20 after tax) We were the only ones inside when we ordered and when we left. It took a little less than 10 minutes for both our drinks to be made. While we waited, I used the restroom. The single restroom was clean and also I liked the color of the walls painted inside. Overall, this tea house is pretty good and definitely will be coming back in the near future. I will mention that as another fellow Yelp member had mentioned, you can smell a very strong smell upon entering the store. I don't know if it is just brewed tea but it was a bitter smell and very heavy in the air.

I've always encountered good customer service whenever I come here. The staff is helpful to answer all my questions and preferences. The place is spacious and part of a plaza parking lot so there's always seats. I like their music choices here.

Purple Yam Fresh Milk with Cheese Foam

I ordered the signature Purple Yam Milk Tea with Cheese Foam with 25% sweetness and no ice. However, due to the type of the drink, it can't be done with no ice but the staff was very accommodating by going as easy on the ice as possible. The ube was very creamy and you can feel the rusty chunky throughout the entire drink, which is how I actually prefer over the smooth texture most boba places go for nowadays. The sweetness level was perfect, complimenting the natural light sweetness and creaminess of ube; and the cheese foam added a nice touch of savoriness to the entire drink. The staff also made a cute heart shape on the drink

Great value boba drinks. A standard milk tea is less than $5. Cheaper than a lot of the expensive boba places but the drink quality is better than at most places. One of the few places that still sells boba for only $0.50. I came here because I love purple yam (ube) and not many places make ube drinks. There's always taro drinks, but almost never ube. Having tried two of their purple yam drinks, I think it's just okay, namely because the purple yam didn't have much flavor. I prefer the more concentrated earthy flavors found in ube lattes, and this wasn't quite like it. It's basically fresh milk with starchy ube lining the cup. Their #1 best seller is the Purple Yam Milk Tea with Cheese Foam, but I found the cheese foam to be way too salty for my liking. I prefer the Purple Yam Milk Tea with Pudding and Boba. Boba was good, it had a slight sweetness and was pretty springy, and I liked the milk they used. I'm glad I found this place for its value and quality, but I haven't quite found the right drink that makes me want to add to my boba rotation.

My drink was 99% fresh milk and the smallest amount of yam. Not busy at all on a Saturday afternoon. Wouldn't recommend.

Purple Yam Fresh Milk

My love for the purple yam fresh milk here knows no end. Outside of Hong Kong boba stores, this place serves the freshest and best purple yam fresh milk in the SGV. Nothing beats a healthy amount of freshly pureed purple yam with refreshing fresh milk mixed together to make a perfectly (and naturally) sweet drink. I usually order my purple yam fresh milk at 25% sweetness with less ice and no toppings, just to enjoy the fullness of the purple yam. It's usually never crowded here, so you won't have to wait for long. This place also serves as a very nice quiet study spot, so if you're looking for that in the area you've come to the right place!

The Butterfly Collection: Honey Lemon Butterly Tea w/ Basil Seed 4.25/5 30% sugar. Like that it's slightly tart. Flavor/taste is good. Butterfly Pea Milk Tea w/ Basil Seed 4.25/5 30% sugar. Tastes sweeter than 30% sugar. Could taste the condensed milk. OTHER DRINKS: Yuzu Rose Tea 4.5/5 Bf likes this drink. I have couple sips and thought it was good (would order again). They've been importing, growing, and supplying tea for over 80 years. There was a time when my ex was considering opening a Thai restaurant, and we'd go to LAX-C outside of downtown LA to make sure we could get Cha TraMue tea leaves in bulk. I actually like their rose drinks quite a bit too. And their choice of plastic cups are at least more structurally hardy - unlike places like 85'C that have cheaped out into using the softer, malleable plastic cups that have a higher tendency to leach microplastics under heat. I will say, I wouldn't deviate from the sweetness level for Thai tea too much. This location is a bit inconsistent so it'll taste off if you try to go to 70% or 50%. I usually avoid boba, but I make it an exception to get their pandan boba. Although again... sometimes their at this location is inconsistent, and it'll be missing that pleasant, aromatic pandan essence. Plus the they've also been too chicken shit to call out my name. You know, you enter your name: "Fat Boy." But when my order was ready, they'd only say "Boy!" Now I don't feel so guilty tipping only 15% instead of 20%.

It's nestled in a little plaza with minimal parking. Luckily, we went on a weekday and there were at least 2 parking spots open. The shop itself is small-- as soon as you enter, the register is right there with the self service kiosk to the left and the waiting area to the right. Even though there was only 1 party ahead of us, it took around 15-20 minutes to get our drinks. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since we ordered a lot of drinks. For myself, I was able to try the traditional roasted oolong milk tea with pearl and the hojicha latte-- both at 70% sweet. I have a sweet tooth, so the sweetness was at a perfect level for both. However, I didn't get that much of a strong roasted oolong taste in the milk tea as I've gotten from other boba shops. The hojicha latte was good enough, but also did not have that strong, nutty taste in comparison to others. I am more of a milk tea person, but maybe next time I'll try the honey osthamnthus tea since a lot of people seem to love it!

I arrived at Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) on Tuesday - May 12, 2026 (at 12PM - Opening Time). The location was DIRTY! I quickly found parking in the small lot; it fits about 15 cars. Staff interaction felt nonexistent. Customers primarily order at the Self-Service Kiosk. I dislike how the kiosk requires a cell phone number to proceed. My drink took two minutes and 45 seconds. Quick. As mentioned, I ordered the Iced Flower Tea ($5) with Brown Sugar Agar Boba (additional 75 cents). YUM! The Iced Flower Tea is a combination of Chrysanthemum, Chrysanthemum buds, Osmanthus, and Gomphrena Amaranth Flowers. The tea is honey-like, crisp, and thirst quenching. Concerning the boba, it's floral with a grape-like texture; it's an acquired taste. On ambiance, Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) has wonderful potential. There's also customer internet with password; details proudly displayed on the counter. And there's a gender neutral restroom. The lighting and art is also attractive. Unfortunately, during my visit, Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) reminded me of an unmaintained, public city bus. I have seen "B Grade" Businesses that are cleanlier... The crevices and corners are littered with crumbs; parts of the tables are sticky; the couches and cushions are entangled with long, old hair. Overall, Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) is not bad. I genuinely enjoyed their tasty, affordable tea. However, I don't feel comfortable enough to return if they're unable to maintain a standard of cleanliness.
