This remains my favorite boba spot. I've been coming here for years and it's been consistently good. I always order a super boba milk tea with coffee jelly. It's huge, so I usually share it with my boyfriend. The coffee jelly has a strong coffee flavor and gives the milk tea a nice coffee kick. The boba is served warm, which I love. I always like touching the bottom of the drink and feeling the warm boba. Even after all these years, this is still my go to order. The milk tea is delicious, the boba is chewy, and the coffee jelly is soft. I'm pretty sure this drink has a good amount of caffeine because it always wakes me up, kind of like Vietnamese coffee. I'm usually pretty tired when I order it, and it does a great job of making me feel alert. Service is also really fast. I usually get my order within a few minutes whether it's busy or not. read more

I have been here many times it's a hit or miss when it comes to the drinks.. sometimes they're very watered down other times too much ice but this time when I'm visited my drinks came out perfectly the way I wanted it. This milk tea spot was highly recommended by my friend. He's always reminiscing about it and swears their original milk tea is his all-time favorite, even though it's the most simple option. With that kind of praise, I had to come try it for myself. When I arrived, the line started toward the back of the store, where they had a huge menu board that made it easy to browse. They offer over a hundred different drinks, which was honestly a little overwhelming at first. Thankfully, they had a Top 10 list, which helped me narrow things down. I ended up getting the oolong milk tea with honey boba. There were signs saying the oolong had just returned, so it must be pretty popular. Unfortunately, I came close to closing time and they had already run out of honey boba, but they let me substitute another topping, so I chose grass jelly instead. I ordered it at 50% sweetness with regular ice, and it turned out great. The drink came in a larger cup than I expected for a regular size, which was a nice bonus. There was plenty of parking behind the store, making it easy to stop by. The overall vibe was fun. There was a nice long bench to wait for your drinks. A friend even told me they traveled far to come here before all the milk tea shops opened in the SGV. I wanted to see what the hype was about, so I asked the cashier for recommendations. They pointed me to the wall with the Top 10 Most Popular Drinks. We chose #2. We ordered the regular size, which cost $7.51 with tax. Keep in mind it's $0.30 more expensive if you pay with a card. Another recommendation from my boyfriend from his previous trip to Los Angeles; Half and Half Tea Express. The shop has two entrances/exits, front and back. If you are coming from the front entrance, there is limited street parking. If you are coming from the back entrance, there is a parking lot that is shared with the other businesses. We parked in the back with no issues. The menu is quite overwhelming with lots of options. My boyfriend ordered the Caramel Milk Black Tea with Honey Boba. I ordered the Lavender Milk Tea with Honey Boba and Egg Pudding. There is an ongoing in-store promotion that applies Monday to Friday where you can get a free super cup upgrade. I didn't know what could possibly entail, but we both opted for it. The super size cups are HUGE. I loved the chewy texture of the boba here! It's insane that this place doesn't use any sticker or label with your order to identify the drinks that they make. Ordered in a big party and they left all of our similar-looking drinks at the counter with no indication whatsoever of which drink was which, and no assistance at all from the staff member until we asked. I'm super caffeine sensitive and caffeine makes me feel sick so I ordered the winter melon milk tea which was listed as caffeine free. I tasted my drink and it frankly did not taste like winter melon, so we confirmed all the drinks with the staff member and I trusted them when they told me I had winter melon. Trust me, I know my body and whatever drink I had (that definitely had caffeine) had me feeling sick all day afterward. The boba is great, the quantities are good, and the parking and location are super convenient!! I was really impressed by how comprehensive their menu was. But they absolutely need a more foolproof way of identifying the drinks that they make to prevent similar and potentially egregious mistakes like this from happening in the future. read more

Absolutely disgusting. My recent visit to Half & Half Monterey Park was beyond unacceptable. There were bugs ALL over the floor, not just one or two, but what looked like hundreds crawling around in plain sight. It was revolting and made the entire place feel filthy and unsanitary. I honestly lost my appetite seeing that and could not believe a business would allow conditions like this for customers. Cleanliness should be the bare minimum, and this was completely unacceptable. There was a long line for this place and I was excited to try their bobas. We ordered lychee milk smoothie and that was good. We also ordered lychee yogurt drink and I was not impressed. I thought it would be creamy but it was more watery. Coffee mocha was ok. This is the first boba place that I've been to that there's a plywood wall between you and the workers preparing your drink.
