I've gone to Moo Dang a couple times now and it's always been so delicious! We got seated pretty quickly when we arrived even though they were really busy. The service is quick and great! They check in on you often and refill your drinks frequently too. We ordered the Crab Rangoon, Panang Curry, and Prig Gang Moo Krab with a couple sides of rice. Both dishes we ordered were a level 2 spicy. We love spicy food and a level 2 (out of 5) definitely has some heat to it! I remember our first time here we ordered a soup at a 4 level spicy and that was way too spicy for our palates hahaha - still good though but we adjusted our other orders to a little lower. Everything we ordered was delicious - our favorite and go-to is the Panang Curry. The Prig Gang Moo Krab had crispy pork belly and it was so good! On a Sunday night at 5 PM, restaurant was about half filled and we were seated right away! Strong menu options but was a bit suprised that there was only green curry and panang curry available to pair with rice. Rice is additional charge per bowl but since we both ordered rice, they gave us a larger bowl to share. We ordered the green curry with pork and panang curry with chicken. We were not asked if we wanted adjustment to spice level, which is a bit surprising as this is the first time I've been to a thai restaurant that doesn't automatically ask if you want adjustments. Our food came in about 20 minutes and was lukewarm. Green curry had snap peas that were a bit cold and hard and the pork was too chewy in some areas. Panang curry chicken was perfectly cooked and super tender and flavor was deep and rich. I wished there were a few more vegetables options in the curry but strong flavor paired nicely with broccoli, carrots, cabbage, and chicken. If you're following my Yelp journey, you've likely witnessed my toddler's transition from baby-led weaning of booby milk to eagerly devouring half my plate at Moo Dang, our beloved Thai go-to spot. Without a doubt, Moo Dang consistently delivers exceptional service, delectable cuisine, and unbeatable prices. Our usual order consists of Chicken Penang Curry and Drunken Noodles with Tofu (extra crunchy!!), both of which never disappoint. With the kid eating off our plates we have to rock-paper-scissors over who gets the mild and who gets the hot. During my most recent visit, I ventured out and tried the Chicken Basil Kra-pow, and it was an absolute delight. The flavors were vibrant, the portions generous, and every bite left me craving more. I really really love the chewy texture of their noodles. I have never found a Thai place that got the texture so perfectly. Food is excellent. But 4 stars because we walked in at 8:18pm on a Saturday night and was told "kitchen is shut down at 8:15 but we could order to go." The staff seem like nice people, I'm not sure what the root cause issue is, but at times, and especially anywhere around their very early closing time of 8:15pm, this place can feel very unwelcoming. Stopped in to order take out on our way home. We stepped up to the counter in the picture and were greeted by two friendly ladies. One took our order and answered any questions that we had. We didn't wait too long 15-20 minutes for the order to be ready. When we got home we were starving from the smells coming from the bag in the back seat! The food did not disappoint, the spice level is higher (hotter) than other Thai places in town, so start lower than usual and build your way up. Wow wow wow wow wow. Moo Dang has made me realize that I give out 5 stars too willy nilly because they are in their own league. The service is prompt and impeccable. I've never felt so cared. They always checked in, were very kind, and quick too. As you walk in, there's a food cart that serves as the front desk. They've got nice looking t shirts and wolfpack pride showing. I sat on the left side of the restaurant which featured a row of Movie posters which was awesome. The tables have decent space between them which was nice and roomy. But let's be real, this is about the food. The food is amazing. 10/10. Fresh, hot, delicious, and refreshing. Definitely ask for their chili oil too, it's a wonderful blend of spice and roasted nutty flavors that compliment every dish. The garden rolls, man, the mushrooms were seasoned wonderfully and the sauce they pair it with is far better than the peanut sauce I was expecting! Decent Midtown location with ample parking, themed decor, spinning classic rock today. The main attraction are the dishes, where quality meets quantity. The fresh rolls (4 large pieces) come with your choice of peanut sauce or cilantro (or try both). A unique dish to Moo Dang are the Similan Noodles, Sen mee (vermicelli rice noodles) stir-fried with chicken, shrimp, garlic, egg, green onion, bell pepper, carrot, bean sprouts, and curry powder. Absolutely delicious!! Our other staple is Drunken Noodles, Sen yai (wide rice noodles) stir fried with your choice of meat, chili, garlic, onion, bell pepper, green beans, and basil. Spice levels are 1-5, from mild to melt your face off. I always opt for 3, but will venture to 4 on the next meal here. 3 is hot, but doesn't interfere with the flavor of the dishes. Again, spice levels are interpretive so choose wisely and know your palate. Unless you are a big eater, the dishes are enough for 2 meals. Tonight I waited 20 minutes after the online scheduled time before they finally brought the food out. Clearly they had not started it until I arrived. I always get it with their Crispy Pork Belly as my protein (you can choose anything they offer) and I have them stir fry in their Sen Yai noodles instead of the rice on the side. I also order it with a 9* spice level...! Their standard is 0-5*, but I have a very high spice level and they always accommodate me...they know me now as "crazy 9 star guy"...LOL...I like it "Thai hot"... BUT...and this is a major BUT...the Chef is amazing...Mama knows how to balance spice and flavor so it's not hot just to be hot...you can taste every ingredient and then you get the kick of the spice. This places is a well loved restaurant and required reservations on a busy Saturday nite. I have eaten in so many Thai places but this places a phenomenal! I ordered the Pad Woon Sen - Thai stir fried noodles and it was beyond incredible . Every taste was excellent , the shrimp was delicate and ample, and the rice noodles were incredible with the mushrooms and vegetables . It a great atmosphere of a busy restaurant where people are excited to be there and quick and responsive wait staff. The that ice tea was huge as well! Always a great time at Moo dang with the family! This is one of our go to spots and always end up ordering the Basil Fried Rice and the Pad Ke Mow. Both are delicious and have great flavors! The spice level is much more than you think. A three is like a five on the american spice level scale, so be mindful of that! Not yet adjusted to Daylight Savings Time, by the time we finished our hike our usual Thai place had closed after lunch, so we tried Moo Dang. Parking was a breeze. Friendly greeting as we entered and, as it was post lunch, there was no wait. We have our favorites but decided to try dishes not on the menu at our usual spot. I love Drunken Noodles, had the veggie version. My husband had a green curry with tofu. The dishes looked marvelous and were delicious. We are both kinda wimps when it comes to hear, so ordered medium. Not sure what was in my husband's curry but one mouthful had something so hot it took his breath away. Not in a good way! After he absorbed the heat he did carefully continue eating, but paying close attention to avoid another chili (or whatever it was). The servings were very generous, we brought home enough for another person to eat! All in all a yummy lunch. If we go again we'll ask for little spice! Bathroom floor needs an indepth cleaning. I was really upset by their service. I walked in with my family of 6 on a Sunday night at 7:50pm. Their establishment closes at 8:30pm, allowing us 40mins to order and dine which is plenty of time for us. There were some empty tables scattered around the restaurant, but they were smaller tables that fit 4. It was very obvious that they could just combine some tables to be able to seat us, but when we suggested this to them, they insisted that they did not have enough space. They then said that it was too late to seat us and restaurant was soon closing (in 40 mins...). It just seemed as if they were making up excuses to not seat us. They ended up suggesting that we order to go. Which we were not thrilled with, but we did anyway and brought our food back to eat in our hotel. While we were ordering to go, the waitress tried to bribe us. We felt that ordering 4 dishes for the 6 of us would be sufficient, but she said to us "if you order more dishes, the chefs said they are willing to allow you to dine in". We told her we can only finish 4 dishes and she said "no that's not enough". IM SORRY???? This is not morally right in my opinion. She refused to let us dine in, and then tried to bribe us by forcing us to order more. We chose not to dine in with them. Even when we ordered take out, it took over 40 mins for our food to come out. Meaning, had we ordered more and dined in, it would be well past closing time before we received all of our food. This just does not sit right with me. Wow... So it's been a few years since I've dined at Moo Dang. I originally tried this place back in 2016 at a Yelp international supper club and I really enjoyed it. But a few months later I took my BF to Moo Dang and the cooking quality wasn't the same (lacked flavor, bland, and no wok hei). At the time we lived in Sparks so we didn't have a reason to come back until a few days ago when we decided to finally give this place another try. There was so much wok hei we were blown away at how big of a difference in the quality that we remembered to now. The Pad Thai was not made with your ordinary standard rice noodles that you would get at the pho restaurants, it was a little flatter/wider which tells me they don't settle for ordinary. The Thai fried rice was seasoned well and the panang curry was also good. The crispy pork belly stir fry that we ordered was a huge surprise. It was still very crispy and that was something super memorable. The flavors are on point and it had wok hei, they didn't ask you how spicy so if you remember tell them how spicy you want it, and service was excellent as always. Wanted to try another Thai place in town and this place always came up on my searches. Finally decided to try it out. Walked in and it was nice and quiet. The restaurant has a large dining area. Staff quickly greeted us and sat us down. Very friendly. The menu isn't overwhelming-- some good choices. We split the fried wontons, drunken noodles, and the pad Thai. Amazing-- I loved the sauce for the wontons, and loved how it wasn't just a ball of fried oil. We ordered mid-spicy for the entrees. The chicken and shrimp in the pad thai.... So good! We got beef for the drunken noodles. I liked the flavor of the pad Thai more but that's just personal preference. Everything was cooked perfectly and you can taste the freshness of the food! They had a good selection of beer so couldn't leave without that either. By the time we left... it was packed but the staff never rushed us.
